A good tour package. You can enjoy an overall view of the island. Quokkas are everywhere in the late afternoon.
I enjoyed the tour. It was informative, welcoming and comprehensive. The return journey didn't happen until 4.30 pm. I found that, having had lunch, there wasn't much to occupy my time.
Rottnest Island was a very interesting place to visit. Very touristy though and although seeing Quokkas is heralded as a main attraction, it turns out they are nocturnal animals. We did see some, but only those who continue to be fed by people, despite this being extremely bad for them. The bus trip Around the island was informative, but it was a shame there were no opportunities provided to get out and go for a walk (only 2 5 minute stops) or a swim at some of the gorgeous beaches. The commentary was also a bit dated. All up a slick tourist operation, and a unique experience.
A day to remember. We enjoyed the luxury boats and houses on the river cruise to the island . Rottnest was fascinating, we loved it. The Quokas, the quirky shops , bus trip around the island were highlights.
Bay bus tour was good, we were on the 11:15am tour, by the time you get back and have lunch we had enough time to walk to the basin and had a swim then made our way back to the ferry
Brilliantly organised. We did the Perth Sealink ferry and the Bayseeker bus tour which was excellent. A brilliant driver who gave us the commentary throughout. We were booked on the later Perth ferry but changed it without issue to an earlier Fremantle return ferry. Love the flexibility.
Rottenest is a lovely island and I enjoyed the day I spent there. It was great seeing all the beaches, learning the history and of course the wildlife!
Absolutely beautiful part of the country. Never seen beaches as beautiful as the ones at Rottnest. Will definitely be back and spend more time exploring
Great experience. Plenty of time to explore. Understand when you leave and from where and when you return.
The rides over and back were fine, but the bus tour wasn’t our thing. We would have preferred a bus with stops long enough to enjoy some of the sites. We were also disappointed in how crowded the island was even though it was midweek and off season. The quakkas, however, were great. Especially enjoyed them when we walked around one of the saltwater lakes and we were on our own with them. We were able to see some nursing moms with their Joey‘s, which was amazing!
Best day beautiful weather everything was organized stuff were helpful and kind, could not be more satisfied with the tour Swimming at the Pinky beach was heavenly
Nothing to fault. Everything on time, well organised, polite & friendly, clean and enjoyable. Commentary on Bayswater was excellent
Sealink passage was great with good commentary and the bayseeker tour was excellent. great information given about the island
Great day out Trip over was well organized and once on the island the bus tour was great. Peter our driver was excellent he knew his stuff and had loads of funny stories on the way round the island
Great day tour to Rottnest Island. Beautiful scenery on the way there by boat. Enjoyed the bus tour around the island to see the beautiful beaches. Best part was the Quokkas roaming around the eating area as we had lunch. Very cute!
Great tour, friendly tour guide, easy to get around and the scenery was gorgeous. The quokka’s of course were very cute.
The view and the Quokkas. Hard to find the bus. Very windy. The icecream was good. A nice place to go to.
This is a really fun trip to do and it's marginally cheaper than booking the ferry and the bus trip on Rottnest Island separately on their own. Although do note that a) the bus trip doesn't let you off anywhere. If you want that option, get the hop on, hop off bus. On this bus tour though you do get some excellent commentary, and b) once the bus tour is done after about 1 3/4 - 2 hours, you're left to your own devices.
Just buy a ferry return ticket and $20 admission fee, that’s total $120 from Perth ( even cheaper if ur from Fremantle ) instead of paying $175, there’s plenty of free tour when u arrive. U also don’t need to stay 8 hours if ur doing day trip, U will get bored. Well quokkas are cute and u can find them near the shops.
The cruise trip to Rottnest Island was very refreshing, however the bus trip all the way without getting out to feel the surrounding, plus most importantly, we could not hear the guide's introduction of the PLACE OF INTEREST
Rottnest Island is nice place, but no need to take a tour. Ferry tickets are available in the terminal. Bus tour around the Island is not exciting- better to go by bike or walk. it is not turistic bus, more Like public one, with uncomfortable seats. Good option for people who have problem with moving around but if not it is better to go around by yourself.
Ferry ride down Swan River was great, very good commentary. Stopped briefly at Fremantle to pick up other passages then on to Rottnest Island. Took the bus tour around the island. Our driver and guide was full of knowledge and quirky tidbits about the island. I then walked around the settlement area, had lunch at Fransisco’s and photographed the Quokkas. Fun day
On Rottnest Island saw two Quokkas being territorial. Heard the clicking thumping noise with their hind legs. Enjoyable cruise down the Swan River and enjoyable bus tour on the island.
Boat trip along the Swan river and out to Rottnest Is was good. Difficult to find bus meeting place as no signage. Bus basically just drove us around the island. Some interesting commentary but it all seemed a bit light. I was expecting something more interactive and having experience with the quokka but we only stopped briefly to look at a view.
This trip started with a wonderful ferry cruise from Perth, down the Swan River to Fremantle, then to Rottnest Island. Next was a bus tour around the island where we listened to commentary from the driver about the history and many beach sites along the way, stopping to see the sea lions. We had about 3 hours on our own and were mesmerized by the quokkas who were plentiful and lovable. Also learned much of the rich history of the island by touring the museum and historical buildings.
Island itself is stunning, like the Caribbean with its white sands and crystal clear sea. Quokkas came second to the scenery but were everywhere so no danger of not getting a whole load of cute shots… annoyingly people were feeding and petting them as they are very docile, despite friendly signs asking us not to do so. I’d suggest skipping the bus tour… it really is only a bus ride around the island, not really a tour and our one was definitely not air conditioned!
Loved everything except the Swan River commentary, the reason we chose to start in Perth. By the time safety instructions and loud music stopped we were way past Kings Park and city area so didn’t even get a mention. For the age demographic of most customers on this section, more detail and less or no music would have been appreciated.
Boarded the SeaLink at Perth and had a nice informative cruise on the Swan river on the way to Rottnest Island. The trip across to Rottnest was smooth on a gorgeous sunny day. The ocean was as smlooth as glass. On arrival at Rottnest, we were greeted by a welcoming party of locals quokkas. How cute. ASfter exploring the village and a walk to the lighthouse we had a nice lunch at the Dome restaurant. The menu was quite extensive and the food quite good. Our table overlooked the ocean. After lunch it was a bus tour around the island . Our driver was quite informative. So many beautiful coves and beaches around the island. The beaches looked very ionviting but 18C was still too cold for me to go in. We also saw a couple of nesting osprey eagles. We were also very fortunate to see some whales on their migration journey. After the bus tour it was time to board the ferry back to Perth. A great day was had byu my wife and I. If you like swimming and snorkeling, I recommend visiting the island on the warmer months.
SeaLink office staff were great to deal with when we were let down by our taxi for our booked tour and transferred us to another day. Rottnest is a wonderful place to visit with amazing scenery and a fairly surprising but little known, short history. The colours of the water you see in photos is not photo-shopped and is truly wonderful.
Seeing Quakkas and beautiful beaches. A amazing bus driver Ted . Very informative Museum was very interesting.
We traveled by SeaLink from Barrack St Wharf to Rottnest and then back to Fremantle later the same day. The commentary on the boat was excellent and informative and the staff were very helpful & friendly. Likewise on the return trip we received great service, especially from the bar tender who ensured that we enjoyed a cold beer. The boat was comfortable and safe,m and we really enjoyed the trips in both directions. On the Island we used the hop on/Hop Off bus to get around, and also enjoyed entertaining commentaries by the bus drivers (who were very helpful too).
Loved the trip down the Swan river on Captain cook boat staff all friendly. We also thought the Bayseeker bus tour was great the lady bus driver was fun and informative. Thankful we didn't do any bike rides or hop on off bus it was enough to stay on bus to go all the way around. Also glad we decided to do our own thing for lunch. The hotel Rottness was amazing, great food and staff, delightful setting right on the beach. Would definitely recommend.
I went to see the quokka. When we were going around the island by bus, we only saw a glimpse of it from afar, but when I was resting near the dock, this one came out and asked for food. It wasn't scared of people at all. It made me worry if it was safe.
I enjoyed it. Because it was summer, the sun set late and the time was later overall, but I was able to see a beautiful starry sky for the first time in a long time. We were dropped off at a hotel (the Peninsula) that was not the meeting place. (midnight)
È da preferire la soluzione traghetto e bus. Il pullman ti fa perdere tutti gli splendidi posti per via che non si ferma e dove si ferma la sosta è di qualche minuto. L'isola è molto bella e i Quokka sono fantastici.
I asked for a bus tour to avoid the hot weather. It is recommended for tourists who have no time to go around the island in a short time. The bus is very comfortable and I think it is perfect for older people. By the way, quokkas are free-ranged near the harbor, You don't need to sign up for a bus tour to take photos. Trouble We didn't have the "optional free hotel transfer" time, so we headed directly to the ferry dock.
