A lot of construction going on. Shops cafes closed. not much to see if not hiring bike. Bus tour was informative. Not many quokkas but heaps of poo.
Tour was great. However would have liked someone to tell us right from the start what was happening. And not had as much free time. If someone could have given more direction we might have been able to Use the hop on hop Off bus also to see some sights for longer than the tour stopped. Instructions on cashing in voucher need to be more clearer also. And no access to Apple wallet tickets. Fast cats were very clean and easily used. Staff very friendly
We had a pre-booked boat and bus tour with Hillarys. It was a rather poor weather day - rainy, windy and a bit cool. The crossing was quite turbulent with many people needing to use sick bags. But when we arrived on the island it was idillic. The quokas were cute, the seagulls and crows less so. We had a lovely bus ride around the island with Rennie our driver who was informative, helpful, funny and engaging. We enjoyed a lovely fish lunch during the day, a visit to the museum to learn the various histories of the island including its tragic use as a prison for the indigenous population of WA. The boat trip back was not so bad. In all, a great experience, lots of fun, educational but moving to understand the history of the island.
Lovely day. Nice having free time and bus tour with commentary
It was a great trip and experience. The fast ferry was a very comfortable and enjoyable. The staff on board were helpful and informative.
This tour has some quick hop off/hop back on moments, and is a lovely way to see most of the island if you don't want to or can't bicycle or hike your way around. Fiona was our lovely tour guide, very friendly and knowledgeable, and even took photos for us. There are so many parts of the island to see, and if you have only one day, I would highly recommend this tour as a way to spend some of it.
First went to Rottnest in 1997, and a few times since, the bus service is good but they are too large for the small roads and put the many cyclists in a dangerous position. Also too much development taking place. The natural areas are quite fantastic, the beaches offer safe and shallow swimming. Quokkas , dolphins seals and pelicans are a marvel to see all in just one day. I will return. $170 for both.
I found this tour online when checking options for a Rottnest visit. We were picked up near our hotel and taken to Hillary's where we boarded the ferry. The crossing was pleasant and comfortable even though the ferry was very full! We had a couple of hours to wander around and have lunch before boarding our Bayseeker Tour bus for an informative trip around the island. We had a few stops and enjoyed the bus driver's commentary about the history of the island and its present day usage. He even took us to one of his favourite spots to find quokkas in the wild. Later, in the village, we enjoyed an Ice Cream at Simmo's before boarding the ferry for our return crossing. Once back at Hillary's we met our bus for the trip back to our pickup point. The whole day was extremley well organised and great value for money.
Well organised and the bus tour was great. The bus driver was very informative and gave us a good laugh too. We would never have seen as much of the island without the tour as our cycling days are well behind us. We enjoyed the ferry rides and all in all had a great day.
Very good day bus pick up on time ferry ride can be a bit bouncy due to water condtions Take bus / train tour on island of u can ride a bike
On the whole I thought the tour was good value and I learnt some interesting information about Rottnest Island. The Ferry ride was enjoyable as was the train/tram journey to the war relics and it was great to see Quokkas in natural bushland. Provided lunch appropriate. However the bus trip around the island was too long with not enough stops or time for interesting points. eg. Osprey nest. Additionally the bus drivers continual comments re his 'amazing' wife and their experiences with Rottnest were overdone and not always interesting or appropriate. I also consider there was too much focus on Rottnest history re the last war and not nearly enough about the history of our First Nations People on Rottnest. This needs to be addressed.
This is the fastest nicest way to go, easy. Free parking, nice staff... great boat. Don't forget to rent bikes beforehand they sell out, there are hills so ebike is best!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 Time sufficient to roam around the island on a short day trip! Bus was clean and comfortable! View spots were sufficient and spot on!
We had a fantastic day. The boat ride was fantastic and all on time. We booked the train separately and had ample time to connect with our bus tour as well. The quokkas were very friendly. Highly recommend this tour.
A sensational day !! Some much to see, exceptional ocean views. So much historical information from Australian days gone by; historical buildings telling stories of what happened is this part of Australia. The Island has lovely walks, bike rides, tour guides taking you on bus rides talking about the multitude of things to see and do.A super day to see and do or simply relax, go safe swimming, snorkelling or enjoying the many beautiful beaches.
A great day on the island and a lovely history lesson while driving around. Enjoyed a scenic flight, walked comfortably around, and the tour took us to some beautiful spots, watched wildlife, learned some interesting things and rested in air-conditioned comfort.
Enjoyed walking around seeing sight having a lovely swim then lunch Then hoping on the bus for a very informative tour from our lovely bus driver
I was very upset with how things went down the morning of the tour. I did not have a car and therefore had to walk an hour to the meeting spot, which I was fine with. I gave myself enough time to arrive early and when I got there, there was another gentleman waiting for the shuttle. I told him I was going to run to the bathroom and to make sure the driver knew I was here. Because there was construction going on at the hotel pick up and it wasn’t clear whether to meet in the front or the back it took me a while to get back to where I think the pick up was. No one was there when I got back, which was a couple minutes after the meet up time, so I called the company and they said the driver left without me and I would need to find my own ride to the ferry which then required me to pay out-of-pocket for an Uber. On the ferry, I saw the gentleman that had also been waiting, and he told me he informed the driver that I was just in the bathroom and the driver did not care and still left without me. I’ve never had a tour just leave someone without calling them, especially Knowing that I was at the location and just had to run to the bathroom. What made things worse is that instead of just giving me a partial refund or being apologetic, the tour operator argued with me over and over that I wasn’t there on time, even though I was there early and had told someone I was accounted for. This was extremely unprofessional and upsetting and just shows that they do not care about their customers. The tour itself also was nothing exciting, so I would recommend just getting yourself to the ferry and paying for a ticket and doing your own thing on rottenest.
very informative and I will be back with a friend later in the year I am sure we will both enjoy the trip
It’s a unique island. The 90 min bus tour on the island made it special. I wish I had of brought my bathing suit and towel. Pls note, the Viator Website did NOT allow us to set up a pickup point near our hotel. However, we were able to call the tour operator directly to make the necessary arrangements.
Excellent trip! Rottnest is awesome - a great destination for everyone. Plenty of quokkas to see. Stunning beaches and great facilities. And even with huge amounts of tourists everything was relaxed and we didn’t have wait for anything really. Big call-out to Terry who did our evening drop off to our hotel after the tour. We were super lucky getting a late transfer home which they don’t always run. Terry was also a tour guide in a previous life so we were able to get some awesome travel advice! He was very patient with our 400 questions!! Really enjoyed the trip. Great staff (Ben the island bus driver was also a gem, very friendly, patient and gave plenty of information), great food options, great beaches, great weather to name a few!
We had the best guide/driver to teach us and drive us through the island. Glenn was very informative, witty and very pleasant. We recommend highly this tour and hopefully you will get to meet Glenn !
Fabulous guide! Interesting and fun commentary. Great way to see the island. Very enjoyable. Opportunities to disembark and enjoy the views or just relax.
The bayseeker tour includes the ferry to and from the island from Hillary's Boat Harbour. The ferry ride takes about 45 minutes each way and we were lucky enough to see whales on the way across and back. This tour gave us about 3 hours free time on the island, plus a 90 minutes bus tour. Glenn our driver was a mine of information about the island, local life and times and made us laugh out loud several times. A super tour of a beautiful island.
Rottnest Island is surprisingly large and the bus trip around the island showed off the beauty of the place and its many pretty beaches and clear, turquoise waters.
Beautiful I love everything the ferry , the island and the bus driver he was so nice and knowledgeable. Great day .
Pick up was great, on time. Very easy to pick up tickets, board ferry . Whales put on an amazing display on way over! So easy to find bus etc. As showery & windy didn't get off bus much but still great to see. So many quokkas, near bakery. Rough boat trip back. Pick up driver drive very fast!
We had a wonderful day at Rottnest Island, from the pick up to the drop off, everything was wonderful. Our tour guide Glenn was amazing. Very informative and funny. The ferry ride was smooth and everyone we dealt with was super helpful. Highly recommend.
Great day out. The bus tour around the island was very informative. The kids had a great day out also is adults. I would def recommend the tour. In the ferry we also some whales immigration it was a fantastic day out.
Absolutely beautiful views along the coast of island. Was great to hop on and off the bus , you need to ask or press button for bus to stop. We asked guide at start which stops would be best for us to get off at and glad we did her advise was great. Loved our day and also did lots of walking at stops and between some short distance stops. 5/7.
Fun way to spend a beach day and viewing wildlife - the local quokka! If I were to do it again I’d make sure it wasn’t school vacation time. Although the kids around me were the first to spot the quokkas, so it made it easy for me to see them!
We had a great trip from the morning ferry from Hillarys to the bay seeker bus tour on Rottnest. The service was outstanding and very helpful. We have been to Rottnest before and we have noticed how much things have grown and a lot more people, new places and activities.
We enjoyed the Boat ride. Bus tour. Flora and fauna. Weather. Swimming. Overall a good time was had by us both
What an amazing experience!! Mick our bus tour guide was a ripper and extremely knowledgeable also funny. I would highly recommend this tour rather than biking around the island. Or do both 🤣. You get to see all of the Island and bonus commentary/history of the island.
This was a great trip. We were two families, the fast Rottnest ferries made our trip fantastic. The ferry was slowed down for the whale watching. The sailor ensured that all the passengers were safe and guided when whales were spotted. Kids thoroughly enjoyed whale watching. Ferry was on time and no delay. The guided bus tour was worth taking as the bus driver gave detailed information for every spot. I highly recommend trips for Rottnest via viator.com Thank you for making our trip memorable Ambuj
We had to sit in the back of the bus and couldn’t hear any of the commentary over the engine noise coming from the back . Also we had been of the understanding that we were getting a meal as my GF meal was added and a Vegan meal for my sister in law . We feel like we had been put on the wrong tour . Spoke to the driver she didn’t realise the sound factor in the bus said it wasn’t the normal bus she said she would report it to the bus company . Had also been sent numerous emails from Viator asking for pick up details when I had already contacted the company telling of our plans to meet at the boat harbour . We were somewhat disappointed at the whole process .
Our driver tour guide was the best, some of his stories were really captivating, I would highly recommend the tour even if you’ve done the island before, keep up the great work guys.
Had an incredible experience with Rottnest Fast Ferries! It was a really great deal and price, including a free courtesy coach pickup (and drop-off) from our hotel in Perth's CBD, ferry ride to Rottnest Island, hop-on hop-off bus tour of the island and admission to the island. We were picked up from our hotel in Perth by the courtesy bus, and Terry the driver was so friendly! This pick up option was especially helpful as it saved us time trying to figure out the public transport to Hilary's Boat Harbour. The bus tour of the island is great, especially if it's your first time on the island. It wouldn't be easy to walk or ride a bike to all the locations, but this way you get to discover and see all the attractions. The ferry ride was fantastic and all the staff were very friendly and helped make this an enjoyable experience :) Highly recommend!
Comfortable bus ride round the island with the bus captain as our tour guide. Pristine sands, aquamarine waters, just scenic views as well as free roaming quokkas!
Rottnest Island is possible the nicest place we have ever had the pleasure to visit. It is unbelievable beautiful, the colours in the water are like something out of a water painting. The Island is kept clean and the history preserved, the bus tour has commentary and the people know their history. I would not have missed this trip for the world. Caution: Keep an eye on the bus times because they only go at certain times.

Great day, good weather. Guide interesting. Wonderful to see the Qokkas with their young. Disappointed in lunch provided, catering mainly for our Asian Tourists, help yourself buffet with limited choice.

The bus tour wasn't rushed - had expert commentary and stopped long enough, and often enough, to give us a chance to take in the scenery.
