Fantastic tour! Paul customised the tour to match our requirements exactly. The vegan tastings and lunch were perfect. He had friendly contacts at each stop who selected the ideal wines for us. Definitely recommended.

Paul was a fantastic host with great knowledge of both wine and the history of the region and each winery. Swan Valley seems a hidden gem with great wines and Paul highlited its wineries to best effect. I would highly recommend this tour and on the basis of the experience, I believe any tour from this company would be a well curated and valued experience.

We had an absolutely fantastic day with Paul exploring the swan river wine region. He picked us up at our hotel promptly in a spacious and spotlessly clean ford van and we headed out exploring. We visited three different wineries for tastings, focusing on small boutique places with outstanding wines, had a fantastic lunch at a 4th winery overlooking the vineyards and even stopped off to try amazing local honey before finishing at a large chocolate producer. Paul provided lots of great information along the way and was a superb guide. While the swan river is tiny in terms of Australian wine production, the quality and variety were first rate. We have had many guided wine excursions around the globe in Europe, South Africa and South American yet there’s always something new to discover in a new place from the Chenin Blanc to the blends. Highly recommended

As I´ve posted on Google: Paul at Up Close and Local Tours was easy to communicate with, and he was quick to adapt his guided tours to meet my needs. With a two-day (overnight) cruise stop, he met me right off the ship and we visited the beach and park as we moved through Fremantle to Perth. After lunch at a local brewery, we tackled the visites to the four churches I needed to visit and photograph, and then we did a walking tour of Perth with a focus on murals and street art before heading back to the port. The following day, after a light breakfast, we walked around Fremantle, sightseeing the port, old jail, park, and colonial buildings. Then into the comfortable van and off to the Swan River wineries, where I was able to sample at 4 establishments (where Paul was well known as a premier tour guide.) A stop at a distillery on the way back to the ship left me appreciating his guiding skills as well as the safe and careful driving through both country and city. Definitely a premium experience, I can strongly recommend Up Close and Local Tours for a customized, unique exposure to Perth, Fremantle and the wineries of the region.

The tour was definitely our highlight in Perth. Paul was highly knowledgeable and epitomizes the word ‘local’. Through his networks,””We managed to save a ton of time at Caversheim and he was flexible to cater to our needs and requests. We managed to visit the Caversheim park, a winery/brewery, chocolate factory, honey, coffee roaster, and a nuts/nougat shop. Never felt rushed and he guided us throughout. My partner and I had an amazing experience with up close & Personal Tours. Our guide Paul was personable, knowledgeable and passionate about the industry. Our favourite winery was Sittella, with a winery Tour hosted by the wonderful knowledgeable Staff and passionate Winemaker Yuri. Windy Creek was also another humble smaller producer I would commend, they even allow customers to picnic on their beautiful winery estate. Lunch at Nikola Estate was nice with some catered dietary options. Overall a wonderful experience and so lovely to get away from some of the bigger group experiences. This was the first time I've organised a private tour like this and it will not be the last.

The whether on the day was wet and cold. We had a really great day.are guide was really knowledgeable and the vineyards we visited were very friendly. Got to taste some lovely wine. The food we had for lunch at one of the vineyards was very good. We really had an exceptional day

Great day, intimate size group of 5 meant we had personalised experiences at each of the four unique wineries we visited. Our tour guide Shannon was a wonderful host, knowledgeable and passionate about both wine and the Swan Valley region without being overbearing. Each winery was unique and had an interesting story, with lunch at Upper Reach winery restaurant delicious.

Our guide, Paul, made it a very much enjoyable and relaxing tour of the wineries and more. His knowledge of wines & food venues are excellent. He has an intimate and in depth knowledge of Perth and its surrounding areas. We highly recommend him to our friends and anyone who want a private guided tour.

We have just had the most wonderful day with Up Close and Local Tours visiting wineries in the Swan Valley. Our guide Paul gave us such a personalised tour taking us to the best wineries based on local knowledge and hospitality. The wine tastings and food experiences were fabulous. Such a wonderful tour! Shannon was incredibly knowledgeable and personable - she really made sure we had a great experience and time together. It was the perfect size too - there were 6 of us in total, so we got a nice, intimate experience and the van fit all of us very comfortably. Finally, the general Swan Valley experience was great - given the size of the region and the wineries, you could not help but feel like you were receiving special, personal attention everywhere you went! Much different than some of the larger winery tours you might find elsewhere in the world.

We had Shannon as our guide and she was so Knowledgeable. She put together the perfect day for our Private full day wine tour in Swan Valley. She was the perfect blend of helpful but not in your space and she never rushed us. Her crafted itinerary ticked all the boxes.

We actually had a private Swan Valley Tour with Paul that was wonderful. Everything was carefully arranged and we tasted a variety of wines and visited four unique wineries. We especially enjoyed the canape and wine flight at Mandoon Estate, our first stop. I hadn't had Chenin Blanc for ages but had several on this tour as it is a specialty of the region. All were different and good and reminded me that I enjoy this varietal. Paul is an excellent, knowledgeable and friendly guide. We'll definitely try another of his tours when we return to Perth.

We had a great day out with Paul. We went to some beautiful settings, experienced some lovely wines, found out about the local area and generally had a lovely, relaxed very enjoyable day.

The best wine tour ive been on.A really fabulous day out.Our guide was knowledgable and showed us some of the Swan valley s hidden gems. Be prepared though to buy your own lunch, its not included.

Our tour was conducted by Shannon and we loved every minute of it. From pick up to drop off it was seamless. Each winery had different qualities and we enjoyed each of them. I particularly like chardonnay which wasn't on tasting at all of them, but Shannon made sure I got to taste them anyway. She was also kind enough to send us a very detailed text that night to recommend restaurants, coffee shops and bars that we had asked about during the day. Nothing was too much trouble. We never felt rushed. She said several times that as long as we got to the last vineyard before they closed everything was alright. Can't recommend it highly enough.

We had an enjoyable day out to Swan Valley, an unexpected surprise since we originally wanted to go out to Margaret River. On hindsight, it was much more time efficient for a day trip out of Perth city and we also get to visit beautiful wineries and learnt about the Swan valley produces which is less known to us. We also had delicious lunch at Sittella beautiful courtyard overlooking the vines. Shannon was our guide for that day, she had been very professional and helpful through our email exchanges so was great to have her bringing us around. She is extremely knowledgeable and passionate. Highly recommend anyone to book a private tour with them - it will be an experience you will not forget!

I contacted Up Close and Local to arrange a private day tour of wineries in the Swan Valley for myself, my husband and my 89yr old father-in-law. Having made enquiries with several companies, the prompt and friendly response from Up Close gave me a good feeling about the company and we soon agreed a tailored itinerary over email. Shannon picked us up from our air bnb in the Upper Valley and we had a wonderful day, she shared with us some of the history of the area without over loading us with info. We went to some delightful small local producers who were obviously passionate about their craft and guided us through multiple tastings. Shannon’s relationship with the staff at the wineries made the whole thing really friendly, informal and personal, going midweek meant that we got one on one service! We were never rushed and Shannon was happy to flex the itinerary when dad started to run out of steam. I cannot recommend Up Close and Local highly enough we will definitely use them again.

Thoroughly loved this tour. From our prompt morning pick up from our CBD hotel in an immaculate and spacious people mover van to our afternoon drop off, the day was flawless. Paul was a knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide willing to share his knowledge but also asked questions of us to gain a further understanding of what it was we were hoping to achieve out of the day. Shannon also was fantastic. From communicating with us from the get go, checking via text and email that we were receiving her correspondence. She was thorough, left nothing to chance and did her best to ensure they put together a tour we would enjoy. Lunch at Upper Ridge was exceptional! Fantastic food at a very reasonable price. We could only manage 2 of the 3 course special on offer the day we toured (Thursday). We got exactly what we were hoping to in that we visited a nice cross section of wineries in terms of scale, product offerings and style. Overall, a great day out with a friendly and discreet host.

One of the best wine tours we have been on and we have been on a few. From booking to being picked up from hotel was stream-less. The premium full day wine tour started at Mandoom where we enjoyed wine and food pairing, featuring 5 canapés with matching wines. Next stop was Upper Reach which their verdelho was excellent. We also had a relaxing scrumptious lunch on the deck overlooking the vineyard. Lunch is not included in the price but the restaurant was very reasonable priced for the some of the best local foods. Next stop was Olive Farm. Tasting from a State of the Art wine delivery system from a choice of over 32 different wines. Last stop was Talijancich Wines that produced wine and fortified wines. Yes we purchased at each winery as the wines are excellent. Yes, we are very selected so the wine was to our tasting. Limited to only 6 people you get a higher quality experience not like to big bus. Shannon our guide/driver was also the owner and was very knowledgeable and friendly.

This is a great option for those with a diverse knowledge of wine and enjoy the atmosphere of a smaller group tour rather than going on a larger tour. The tour guide Shannon had a deep knowledge of wine and the various wineries. The tour was slow paced and you never felt rushed.

Took this tour in Mid-March. There were 4 Guests but could go to 6 Guests in the van. Picked up at our hotel. I rated this tour excellent as the guide (Shannon) was very knowledgeable about the wines, the wine regions and history of the Swan Valley. The wineries we visited were: Mandoon Winery Upper Reach Winery (Lunch) Olive Farm Wines Talijancich Wines Each winery was unique and the lunch was very good. Would definitely do it again with Up Close and Local Tours.

A wonderful day. Four boutique wineries, over 30 wines tasted; a chance to see some indigenous art and taste chocolate were added bonuses. Paul was an excellent guide with a detailed knowledge of the area and the wines. Thoroughly recommend.

We enjoy our wine & wanted a tour that concentrated on the wineries rather chocolate or cheese-makers. Shannon is an expert guide & provided us with an excellent itinerary starting with fantastic wine/canopy pairing, a delicious lunch at the second winery, & two other wineries all showcasing the wonderful wines in the Swan Valley. The wineries were all smaller, family run, & very welcoming, giving us a chance to sample the huge range of different wines produced in this area. We will definitely use Up Close & Local for our next trip to the Margaret River wineries.

Our Up Close and Local tour host Shannon found us some great venues with very knowledgeable and friendly staff so we learnt a lot about the history of the region and the origin of the drinks they make. An interesting and varied day tour. Everyone thinks Margaret River is the be-all of WA's wine industry but we have some vastly under-appreciated wineries on Perth's doorstep in Swan Valley, and Up Close and Local does a great job in reminding us!

We were a group of 6 and did an all day tour with Shannon. We were picked up and dropped off to our accommodation which was very convenient for us! The tour van is very spacious, comfy seats and great air conditioning. We had a lovely day visiting 4 beautiful wineries in the Swan Valley. Shannon is very knowledgeable, attentive, friendly and easy going. Our entire group thoroughly enjoyed the tour and were very appreciative of Shannon's wine experience and knowledge. We had a great time and would highly recommend Up Close and Local Tours over other tour operators!

One of the best tours I have ever been on without a doubt. Bought as a gift to my partner for Xmas. It is the second Tour we have done with Paul. Paul is a fantastic host and his knowledge of wineries in WA is second to none. We had such a great time. The wine blending was so much fun and we learned a lot as well. The bonus was we took away with us 3 bottles of delicious wine that we made ourselves (to our own taste). What a fun day out!!! We had the most delicious lunch as well. Do yourself a favour and get on board, it is a great gift to give and to get.

This was a delightful trip. Very enjoyable. Paul is very knowledgable and an excellent host. Visited some wonderful wineries. All with their own characteristics and fabulous wine. A very tasty lunch was provided in a lovely location. Comfortable transport. Having never been to a winery before, it was a very pleasant overall experience & we would highly recommend.

Going on this tour was one of the best highlights of our Perth trip and the price was totally worth it. We visited 4 wineries all small, unique, boutique. All the tasting fees were included so there were no limitations to what we could try out. Our guide Shannon was extremely knowledgeable and was very helpful and patient as we took time tasting and buying a lot as well. Would strongly recommend to anyone looking for a small customized tour in Swan Valley.

Our personal guide Shannon, was brilliant. Not only did she know about the wines we sampled, she also knew all about the history of the 4 wineries we visited and the winemakers we met, who were all very generous with their time and their product. It was a relaxed, unrushed day. We travelled in a lovely near new a/c mini-van and stopped at a fabulous restaurant for a 5-star lunch. Worth every cent. A wonderful day in the Swan Valley. Highly recommended.

I cannot say enough about how fantastic this tour was. If you are traveling alone, single, or just wanting a getaway but are nervous about being the "odd person out"- I can assure you that will NOT be the case with this tour. Shannon answered all of my inquiries before my tour (and believe me I had a few). The vehicle arrived promptly at my hotel. She was kinder and more personable than I could have imagined. The tour was incredible. I learned so much about the region and the wines and the history. We had the most incredible customized experience through Swan Valley. The food, oh I cannot tell you how delicious the food was. I recommend Up Close & Local Tours 1,000% and am so appreciative of the amazing experience.

From the single best site wine tasting we've had at Olive Farm Wines (so much choice and unlimited samples!!), to a beautiful lunch and some added extras along the way, this tour was simply fantastic. Paul was an excellent host, often adding to our understanding of the history of the region and its fabulous wines. Our summer tour included tastes direct from the vine and some fantastic wines. Following our wrap up at Mandoon Estates, we ventured off to dinner with a lovely couple from the UK that we met on the tour. A fabulous day and one I thoroughly recommend.

I went on the semi-private wine tour with my mother, and we both had an all round a fantastic experience. Paul was an excellent guide, who was very friendly and easy to chat with. We loved every one of the venues as well as the picturesque (and very tasty) lunch destination in the swan valley, and got to enjoy it all with a friendly, funny, and kind group of other guests with us. Can’t recommend this tour highly enough - especially if you want to try some of the best wines in the Swan Valley at wineries you have never even heard of!

One of the best cperienced I have had in Perth… from re booking us because of a cancelled flight. Shannon was an amazing host and a wealth of knowledge in regards to the wine, region and the winemakers.. the small group format gave an oppotunity to do Māori than just taste wine. The behind the scene aspect of the tour is perfect for learning and appreciating the wine and the region a lot better.. 10/10 tour and would do again.

So happy we chose this tour. Very comfortable van with only a small group of people, which made more exclusive. Great choice of wineries. Cant pin point which one was our favorite. At the first winery, Gemma took us through a tour, telling all interesting facts about the history of their winery. Very knowledgable, easy going and very approachable. We were taken inside where all processes take place. It was very interesting to see all the stages from harvesting to bottling. They have a wine dispenser, where you can taste ALL their wine range, which was at least 20 different wines. Extensive range of wines.It was fun to learn how to use that machine. Other wineries were great too. Absolutely enjoyed our a la cart lunch. Another winery was very touching with a long history. It is operated by the croatian family who are very passionate. Thank you Paul for a great choice of places you took us. I would highly recommend this tour. You can ask Paul any questions about wine. He knew so much about the wines, fun person. My husband and I had a lovely day with Shannon. She was very accommodating and informative.There was a total of 5 guests on our tour and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. We tasted lovely wines at 4 wineries and had a lovely lunch in between ,plus a cheese platter at another. Would recommend.

When I first approached Shannon & Paul, they were very helpful in finding out exactly what we were looking for and worked towards that goal. Faber Winery behind the scenes was excellent. Couldn't fault our day. Went out of their way to pick us up and return. Shannon very knowledgeable and passionate about the region. She wanted to know the speed we wanted to do and was accommodating and worked with us. A brilliant way to celebrate a good friend's surprise 70th. A very enjoyable day had by all, thanks to our wonderful host.
