Nice hotel and suite, mixed experience with staff. I had a short stay in a Club Suite at the Westin Perth and it was overall very nice with some weak spots. The suite was very nice - plenty of room, almost like a small apartment, with designed living room, dining room, bedroom, and bathroom spaces. Decor was nice, modern and clean. The room was comfortable and big enough to just relax inside and not feel cooped up. The public areas of the Westin are also well designed. Most of the staff were also excellent - friendly and helpful. The big standouts were the reception desk staff and the staff in the club lounge, where literally every single staff member in the area came by during breakfast to say hello and check in if I needed anything. The big letdown were staff at the door - valets and doormen? I walked to the front door instead of being dropped off directly (I was walking around doing some sightseeing). There was a group of door staff working chatting together and they completely ignored me - no greeting or acknowledgement, definitely no opening the door or helping with my bags. It was a really bad first impression that was incongruent to the otherwise excellent hotel.

Overall, we had a very good stay at The Westin Perth. The room was spacious(Deluxe King 42 sqm) , the bed was very comfortable, the view was excellent, and the breakfast was fantastic. The convenient Wilson Parking in the basement was also great value at just $15 per day on weekends. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the service. I had requested a complimentary anniversary platter two days before arrival, but it wasn’t in the room when we checked in, so I had to call the front desk to remind them. We also ordered three hot chocolates, which took almost an hour to arrive. After waiting 55 minutes, I had to follow up with the front desk. I understand there was a function taking place and the team was busy, but such a long wait isn’t what I’d expect from a 5-star hotel. Despite these issues, we still enjoyed our stay and would consider returning.
I started at the Westin Perth on the 27th-28th of June 2026, I confirmed that the title of my stay was for an amount of $970. This included two nights' accommodation and valet parking, as well as breakfast. On the 30th of June, I had two transactions for $970.80 withdrawn from my account. On the 1st of July, I had another three transactions for $979.80 withdrawn from my account. The total was $4,800. I'm writing this on the 7th of July 2026. I notified the hotel on the 1st of July, 2026, as soon as I realized the amount of money that had continuously been taken from my account. Firstly, they advised me they didn't know what had occurred, as they could not see the transactions on their end. I provided them a copy of the banking screenshots. I was then advised that it was out of their hands, as it was with their 3rd party, who they would not provide me with any details of other than the 3rd party's name. I then was offered 10,000 Bonvoy points, totaling $60. I was also advised that, on the 5th of July 2026, the matter had resolved. They had confirmed with the 3rd party that had received the funds, and I would be refunded. As a token of goodwill, they offered me a 60% discount on my stay, and a further 50 000 points, which I believe is an absolute disgrace and inadequate, given the fact that I had been out of pocket approx. $4,900 at that point in time, for over one week. Today, on 7 July 2026, I have still not received my funds, despite being told on Sunday 5 July that I would receive my funds, as they have been refunded. I have noticed today that, in fact, the issue has not been resolved. A further $970.80 has been deducted from my account. That brings the deduction total to $5,860. The matter is still not resolved. I have had to make a police complaint to the West Australian Police. I have had to make a fraudulent complaint to NAB. The matter is still not resolved, and I have been treated horribly by the manager in Anika. I will not stay here again, despite being a Bonvoy Gold member. We should ensure that you do not stay here either. It has been the worst experience I have ever had to succumb to with a hotel.
I don’t normally review hotel but this I have to. It was touted as one of the most luxurious hotel in Perth so we booked a high floor suite for 10 days. Good reception team, concierge, etc. Great location but a couple of things were strange especially with the room. First of all, the free breakfast is only available in the executive lounge and a $25 surcharge applies if you go to the lobby restaurant is the first I have seen. I spent 25% of my time annually traveling for business so this rule is weird for sure. The room. It’s so COLD! I set the thermostat to 24 degrees for the bedroom and the dining hall but it’s freezing, felt like 16-18 degrees all the time. I have given feedback to the front desk but to no effect. We felt sick being so cold all the time. Then, the bath. There is only 1 bath and we have 3 guests. If you are the third person showering, the hot water starts to turn colder, almost like it’s running out of hot water. The water pressure is also very poor. TV was best described as antique. No on demand streaming app, only local channels and a cable service. Cannot serve internet. Android only app usage, how old is the TV??! Then there is this strange phenomenon that takes place around 11.30pm-12.30am almost every night. The main door starts producing a sharp pitch sound like air was rapidly being sucked out through the gaps. The sound disappears if I open the main door and let the ‘air’ rushes out and then the sound softens. The door is also hard to open and I suspect the air pressure causes that. Again, a business road warrior myself and have never experienced this strange phenomenon before anywhere else. Lastly, housekeeping service is quite poor for a reputable hotel and suite treatment. Stains were apparent on toilet bowls. no extra rolls provided. just generally a lack of details. Overall, I’m quite disappointed with this suite experience with Westin Perth.
We had a very enjoyable stay at The Westin Perth overall. We actually changed rooms twice during our stay. The bed in our original room was too small for our needs, and the second room was unfortunately quite noisy. The staff were incredibly patient and understanding throughout the process, doing everything they could to help us find a room that suited us better. We eventually upgraded to a Club Room at a very reasonable price, and it was absolutely worth it. The room was beautiful, and the view from the 25th floor was fantastic. The location is also very convenient. It is within walking distance of Hay Street, where you will find plenty of shops, restaurants, and Kmart. The area can feel a little quiet at night, but we found it safe and easy to get around. Parking is available on-site at AUD50 per day with multiple entries. The only area for improvement would be the Club Lounge breakfast. In many hotels with executive or club rooms, guests have the option of either having breakfast in the lounge or dining at the main restaurant. At The Westin Perth, Club Room guests are limited to breakfast in the lounge, and we found the selection quite limited compared to what we would expect from a hotel of this standard. That said, the excellent service, comfortable room, great location, and the staff's willingness to go the extra mile made this a very enjoyable stay. We would happily stay here again.
