Excellent option, great location, close to public transport, bars and restaurants, theatre, movies. The room is free of clutter, but with all that you need. Right available iron and ironing board, coffee and tea on the breakfast area, snacks and drinks can be purchased anytime, lovely rooftop to unwind. Would definitely go back!

Excellent and clean hotel! The 1st floor amenities/work space was amazing, quirky, and spacious. Staff can also make an excellent cup of coffee (with a fee) so no need to find the nearest coffee shop (though there's plenty around as well!). Staff are also super helpful and friendly! Had no noise issues though I stayed over the weekday. Location is very conveniently placed to travel as the trains, Elizabeth Quay, and the art gallery are very close to this location. Food is abundances around the Northbridge area - also very close to this location. Only issue was that the bathroom area didn't have a fan to prevent moisture/steam build-up but this was minor compared to everything else! Would recommend and am keen to stay at this location again next time!
A little gem in the heart of Northbridge I absolutely loved my stay at Alex Hotel. The location is fantastic — right in the heart of Northbridge, surrounded by great restaurants, bars and plenty to do. The vibe of the hotel really stood out. I haven’t stayed somewhere with this kind of atmosphere for a very long time. It has such a beautiful boutique feel and honestly felt like I was somewhere in Europe. The first-floor lounge is cosy, with books, comfy couches and a covered outdoor balcony. Complimentary tea, coffee and fruit are a lovely touch, as is the well-stocked honesty bar with ice, ice buckets and glasses you can take to your room. The rooftop terrace is a great spot in the evening, and I loved that you can take guests up there and BYO. Breakfast is continental, with fresh, yummy croissants, and the midday checkout is a fantastic bonus. The bed and pillows were incredibly comfortable, the air conditioning worked perfectly, and the staff were genuinely friendly and personable. I was extremely happy with my stay and will definitely be looking forward to staying here again!
I’d recommend this hotel (room 608) to any solo traveller! The location can’t be beat if you’re wanting to be close to the arts precinct and great food options. I stayed Wednesday - Friday, and there was some street noise but that’s to be expected for the area. They thoughtfully supply ear plugs if it’s a major issue, but for me it wasn’t. I appreciated the view, the decor and in particular, the service from Sam. He was friendly and affirming when letting me know of the check-in options and making me feel very welcome storing my luggage and receiving a parcel to the premises. Some of the coolest elements I didn’t get the chance to use this stay - including the 12pm check out time and the bicycles they have on premises for free hire. Such cool features! Absolutely everything about my stay was excellent with the exception of the staff member on floor 1 during breakfast hours. I found him very unfriendly and passive aggressive with his instructions about breakfast towards me and another guest I witnessed. It occurred both days, so it felt more like a general attitude problem, rather than a staffer having 1 bad day. That’s the only thing stopping this from being a glowing 5 star review. It unfortunately brought the vibe down. This doesn’t cancel out the rest of my lovely stay, so I definitely hope to be back in the future 😊
This is without question the loudest hotel I've ever stayed at. The rooms are fine but small. The look of the hotel is cute. But there's live music all night, cars making a ton of noise until 3am, then the shops start making noise at like 7am. The walls are paper thin so you hear your neighbors sneezing. Also our ac was hit or miss
