Moses was a fantastic guide. He was so informative about the history of Lancaster and had great stories to tell. He had an answer for all of our questions and extremely knowledgeable about everything. I would highly recommend this tour!
Moses was our guide, a 10 ⭐️for sure ! Very knowledgeable, fun, engaging, safe driver and learned so much about the architecture of building, the Amish and menomites and overall history Would highly recommend !
Moses was or tour guide and we could not have been more impressed. He was very personable and extremely knowledgeable re: Lancaster history, the Amish, architecture, and the Mennonites. I cannot imagine a better experience.
Our tour was absolutely amazing and a 10/10 experience. Our tour guide was Moses Colon, and he made the tour even more enjoyable. Our group was just the three of us including me, my mom, and Moses. He showed us around the city and told us some very interesting facts about the history and architecture. After walking around, he took us on a drive to get some amazing handmade ice cream. We learned so many facts about the Amish, and my favorite part was learning the difference between the Amish and Mennonites. This tour was wonderful and we would definitely do it again with Moses!
Was very interesting to hear the historical background of this area and see all the many variations of foods offered at Central Market. And Mike our tour guide answered our questions as well as providing good narratives
Mike the tour guide was very informative, pleasant, and provided a great tour experience on the Lancaster/American history as well as the Amish&Mennonite differences and immersion in current society. Very interesting tour that included walking through downtown Lancaster and the Central Market. Highly recommended and we had been on one of Mikes tours a few years back and had similar experience with learning about the Amish culture, viewing an authentic Amish Diary. Both tours included a stop for a tasty ice cream snack. I still believe Lancaster has the best ice cream.
Fantastic and well balanced tour of downtown Lancaster and Amish country, including an ice cream stop! Our guide Moses was very pleasant, genuine and knowledgeable. Despite inclement weather and an Amish holiday, the tour proceeded as planned and he was accommodating to our young children. The tour was a great value and length of time and I would highly suggest it to others looking to get an introduction to the city's history and architecture and of the Amish way of life.
An in-depth tour of Lancaster and its countryside with Moses was not disappointing. We learnt so much history about the area and its people. A very enjoyable time with a dedicated tour guide
Moses was our tour guide today. He was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about sharing the history of Lancaster. He welcomed questions which we had several. You could tell he loves Lancaster and sharing his knowledge about it. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour.
Moses our tour guide was incredible! He was able to share a wealth of historical and architectural information with us on our walking tour on King Street and a few streets off. We had a nice drive to an Amish farm and enjoyed delicious ice cream. I would do this to her again and highly recommend it!
Mike provided a wonderful tour. We learned a great deal about the history of Lancaster and the Amish people in the area. I highly recommend this tour.
This was a wonderful experience! Mike was VERY informative!! I would highly recommend booking this excursion!! Great!!
When I signed up for this tour I thought we were just going to see the Amish countryside and the Amish people, but the tour was much more than that. We started with a walking tour of downtown Lancaster. Our tour guide was Moses and he was fabulous. We learned so many interesting historical facts about the buildings and people of Lancaster. After a short walking tour we hopped on the bus and took a drive through beautiful Amish countryside and even stopped at an Amish farm and had an ice cream cone. A tour worth a try!!
Excellent tour and Tim our tour guide was great! Really impressed and worth the trip. Afterwards took the buggy tour to finish the day on a high note! Recommend this as part of your experience.
Good tour with historical context and discussion. Comfortable pace. Interaction with the Amish family was brief, but interesting. Yummy ice cream!
We learned a lot about Lancaster history and architecture. Loved our visits to the two Amish farms. Puppies, homemade ice cream - what more could you want? Moses was also a great tour guide. Highly recommend this tour!
Enjoyable tour of Lancaster County! We especially liked driving through the beautiful countryside with farms of the Amish and the English. We learned about the Amish ways and visited a family. Plus the tour included a delicious ice cream stop at an Amish dairy.
The tour included an excellent mix of city walking/history and countryside exploring. Both parts were very interesting.
Great tour. Our tour guide was lovely and very knowledgeable. Spending time at the dairy and spending time learning about the craftsmanship of the homes and barns was amazing. My 11 yo son had a great time as well.
This particular tour gives a perfect glance of both the history of Lancaster and the lifestyle of the Amish. Moses, our tour guide was incredibly knowledgable about both and was so patient with all of our questions. My sister and I learned so much more about both experiences than we had ever known, and we are excited to share our pictures with family and friends. We can't thank your company enough and especially Moses for becoming a tour guide. He's a natural! Oh, and the ice cream cone was a wonderful bonus.
Moses was a fabulous guide through Lancaster, PA and the beautiful Amish country side. We learned so much and enjoyed every minute of the tour.
A lot of information that I never knew before this trip. Our tour guide was very acknowledged and a great tour guide.
I wanted to experience an in-depth tour with a native guide. What I received surpassed anything I could have imagined! Idriss proved to be a remarkable guide; he engaged me from the moment he collected me in 'his' beloved city through fascinating tales, comprehensive insights, and genuine hospitality. He skillfully guided us to key sites and introduced us to people from his personal circle. These authentic connections made everything feel so real and special. It was like stepping directly into living history. Many thanks, Idriss!
Mike Simmons was a great tour guide . He was very knowledgeable of the history of lancaster and of the architecture and all the famous people from. There and the long list of many outstanding firms or best of quite a few major happenings in history .
Mike was an entertaining and knowledgeable guide. We learned so much about Lancaster and thoroughly enjoyed the tour. This tour has my highest recommendation.
I highly recommend our tour guide Mike. He was friendly, informative and accommodating went out of his way to help out. .
Loved having the variety of a walk around history of Lancaster followed by a comfortable ride through the countryside. Our tour operator, Mike, was very knowledgeable about both Lancaster and the Amish culture. Great feature of having ear pieces to help hear everything he said, especially in downtown Lancaster. Stopping for a delicious scoop of ice cream was a delicious treat. I highly recommend this tour!
Mike met us at 9 am and proceeded to show us around Lancaster on foot. He was thorough, knowledgable and very nice to spend time with. We enjoyed learning the history of Lancaster and the surrounding area. The ride to the Amish Country area was pleasant with two wonderful stops: one was possibly the best ice cream we ever had; the second was a home/workshop of an Amish family. Sadly, the Central Market was not open on our tour day (only open Tuesday, Friday and Saturday). Mike gave us an alternative recommendation for lunch (C'est La Vie) which was great. We highly recommend this specific tour with Mike.
Mike the tour guide was outstanding. He was well versed in history, pleasant, accommodating, knowledgeable..
We started our walking tour punctually at 9:00 AM. Our guide, Mike was extremely thorough, thoughtful and knowledgeable. We never rushed through the trip and took time to explain all the details. We absolutely loved the experience and recommend Lokal tours for those interested in exploring the beautiful Amish countryside and learning more about the culture and history of Lancaster !
We had a wonderful, informative tour of downtown Lancaster and a most enjoyable tour of the countryside along with a couple of stops to learn more about the Amish culture.
Mark, our guide was extremely knowledgeable of the history of Lancaster. He was very good. We enjoyed the whole tour but the walk through the town was our favorite.
Very best ice cream ever. Very informative and interesting lesson in history and local culture. I would definitely do the tour again.
Mike was an awesome tour guide! He was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. We enjoyed every bit of the tour, from the first half walking tour of downtown Lancaster, to the farmland and Amish dairy and farm. I would suggest this tour as a starting place for anyone visiting the area.
Mike the owner was our guide, very knowledgeable and friendly. I have learned so much and my son who is 10 yo loved it ! We got the best out of two worlds reach history of Lancaster, PA with detailed interesting facts and were introduced to life of Amish culture, tasted the best ice cream ever and it was included in to the tour price already. This tour fit perfectly in to our day! If you are in Lancaster next time it is not to miss adventure for sure !
We thoroughly enjoyed our morning with Dale as he led us through Lancaster and then Amish country. We learned so much about the area and appreciated his "insider" perspective on the area. The tour exceeded our expectations - by far!
This was an excellent tour and our driver, Dale, was very impressive with his knowledge of the history of the Amish and of the Lancaster area as well as the history of Pennsylvania. I would prefer a larger vehicle but based on where we went a larger vehicle wouldn’t work. Our small bus was very clean and comfortable and appeared well maintained. My wife and I both highly recommend this trip.
We truly enjoyed the Lancaster experience with Mike as our guide. First half of the tour was walking downtown Lancaster showing us points of interest and the many kinds of architecture in the buildings nearby. Did a walk thru of central market that was worth checking back later to explore. Second half of the tour was in a van thru the countryside. Stopped at an Amish farm and creamery. I enjoyed the best ice cream treat. Mike was very knowledgeable and easygoing. We truly enjoyed our morning.
Our guide was Dale, he was born and raised in the area so he had a lot of info. Very knowledgeable with the Amish and Mennonite history. Lots of personal stories that made it even better. Great Great Great tour!!
This trip was fantastic to say the least. our guide ws very informative and made the experience very informative and interesting.... Highly recommend
Overall great place to visit! Love Christmas Shows at American Music Theater, Dieners, Amish View Inn, Michael’s Raisin Bread in Strasberg and lots more!
This Lancaster activity far exceeded our expectations. Mike, our guide, was very personable, knowledgeable about Lancaster, and made every stop interesting! Lancaster has so much to offer with such rich history that Mike brought to life for us. We would highly recommend Truly Authentic Lancaster Experience to anyone coming to the Lancaster area.
Our family of five, kids ages ranging from 7-13, scheduled this tour but due to city logistical issues, we were only able to do the countryside tour and had to miss the Lancaster city portion. The tour company was very responsive and helpful to coordinate alternative options. What a blessing in disguise! We had an amazing time with our guide Dale. He is a Lancaster native and shared a fascinating history of Pennsylvania and the Amish that even the kids were paying attention. We went to the Amish farm and saw an hours-old baby pony and even had a chance to speak with owner. Had some great ice cream too. I’m sure there may be similar tours, but to those who have taken many tours in their lifetime, you know that the guide makes or breaks the tour. Dale does a fantastic mix of history, insight and personal experience to really get you an understanding and appreciation of the land and people. I think the best thing is that my kids were not interested in this tour but it turned out to be their favorite of our long cross-country trip!! Thank you Dale and team!
A nice mix of city and country touring. Easy walk and nice ride. Saw a variety of things and learned the interesting things. Teens enjoyed it too!
Our guide was terrific and we enjoyed every place we visited.. You can’t go wrong with this tour, and we highly recommend it.
Loved tour and informative of city. Along with the drive to the Amish country and ice cream too! Dale gave us great information about the area that inspired us in our planning for the next few days in the area.
Spent a beautiful day exploring the city with Dale. We learned so much about the city and the people who were major influences in the town or were born there. The architecture on some of the old buildings is incredible. Sprinkled in the tour were stories of the “olden days” as seen through his family history. My favorite was how his dad and friends would watch the World Series on the court steps before TV and radio. After the city portion of the tour we hopped in the van and toured the countryside learning about the religious persecution in Europe and how they were brought to Pennsylvania by William Penn. We saw an actual longhouse from the van and had a delicious scoop of ice cream from an Amish farm. I highly recommend this tour.
Mike gave us a good tour. He knew the information and presented it well. First 40 minutes was very slow start and stop walk around the city. Then a drive in the country to view farms owned by Amish families. Ice cream was included. Also stopped at a beautiful farm and enjoyed the workmanship of the buildings.
Excellent tour. Mike was very knowledgeable about Lancaster’s history and told us lots of interesting facts. The countryside tour was very informative about the Amish way of life. The ice cream was a surprise treat even on a chilly day. Highly recommend this tour if you want to learn a little history and a glimpse of the Amish.
