Nice tour, great tour guide, but the food stops were a bit disappointing. The food selection could be improved and have less sweet spots and more savory .Some stops were not that great, oil and vinegar shop could be easily replaced by some food place.Don’t expect to have a lot of food on this tour,it’s not like majority of the food tours in other places.

Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly! I would definitely recommend this to tourists and locals to see some “hole-in-the-wall” places. We got to sample and take many foods home with us. Overall loved the entire experience and would definitely do it again!
Our tour guide was friendly and even brought extra bags for each of us to carry our samples home. He shared a lot about Lancaster history and we learned quite a bit between our food stops. He’s also an avid cook and helped guide us through the olive oil tasting. The many samples were all very generous and we even took some home. The two hours flew by and it was a great way to see the city.
Extraordinary tour of some of the culinary highlights of Lancaster. We visited spots offering everything from savory food and pickles to sweets. A wonderful time.
Micheal was excellent giving bits of history and extremely knowledgeable on his recommendations of food products in each store we visited. He was very fun and informative. Thank you for a great tasting tour! I would highly recommend to everyone!!
Wear walking shoes ,bring water, and you do walk alot. Our guide Michael was very informative, friendly and knowledgeable about the area. You get to take home a couple of awesome goodies!
Very informative, fun and with the right mix of stops. Really enjoyed it. Met some great people in the stores along the way and Mike was fantastic. So Thanks!
Guide was knowledgeable, friendly and made it time we'll spent, thank you! We were so impressed with the city and learned so much.
The tour was great and an interesting way to learn about the city. Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. At each of our seven stops on the walk, we sampled tasty sweets or savory food, as well as learned a bit about the owners or business history. Even though the day was hot, we had a fun time eating our way around Lancaster City. We recommend this trip.
Angie our tour guide was excellent! We had a great time at each location and highly recommend this experience.
Mike was amazing! He is full of knowledge, went above and beyond with information regarding the history of the town and areas we passed. Most of all he was very patient slowing down the pace to accommodate.
Wonderful tour guide. Loved it. Thank you. Nice shops. Not really accessible for wheelchair but they made it work to best of ability.
Awesome - enthusiastic guide - very informative - lots of fun food stops with sample and full size goodies to go. Highly Recommend!
Great tasting tour. Unique deserts and item to taste. Learned about Lancaster. Enjoyed the experience. Parking was easy and affordable.
Mike was a great guide full of historical facts. We enjoyed all the local shops. Mike is a foodie so he was able to recommend pairings of olive oils with balsamic vinegar. We dropped by the central market though it wasn’t on the tour. The meat stalls looked amazing.
This was a fun experience where we not only got taste some treats from local businesses, we also learned about Lancaster history from our guide Mike. Mike was very friendly and knowledgeable.
Mike was great/ it was just my husband and I, but Mike gave the full experience. Great time and lots of goodies.
Mike, Mike made this tour!! We enjoy Lancaster and this was our first tour, exceptional customer service. Enjoyed each of our stops. The rich history that Mike shares with you. Can’t thank him enough. P&J Salmon
A great two hour slice of history and food experiences in downtown Lancaster. Mike is very knowledgeable and well versed in the local history and took us to some hidden foodie gems. We sampled fresh pickles, French desserts, custom blended teas, oils and vinegars and a local treat, the stroopwafel. And we took home some goodies! Great time with a great host. Book this excursion and get in on the fun!
Our guide, Mike, was very knowledgeable and personable. Tons of history given about the city, architecture. We enjoyed the tour but wish there was a touch more savory perhaps something in the market or a slice of pizza. The 4 attendees went to lunch at the end of the tour. The cupcake stop and the french bakery was our favorite but we did return to purchase 6 bottles of balsamic vinegars.
Mike, our tour guide, was like a personal shopper, who took us to a variety of specialty shops and recommended his favorites things Including flavored olive oils and vinegars, cupcakes and pastries, and salt-free pickles. The dills are to die for. He also brought alive the history of landmark buildings we walked by.
Mike was like our personal shopper who walked us around to various shops and recommended his favorite olive oils, vinegars, teas, cupcakes, pastries and pickles. The dills were to die for. Every shopkeeper had a story. He also brought the history and buildings of Lancaster alive through animated conversation.
The tour was amazing. Food was great and the history of town was terrific . Tour guide was amazing.
Very knowledge about, food, history, architecture and local facts. Went at a reasonable pace for 7 month pregnant woman.
Our guide was Mike, his history extras were great to add to the whole experience.. We really enjoyed the variety of shops as well. Amazing time.
We went on the Sweet & Savory Tour with tour guide Mike. Both the tour and Mike were fabulous! Mike was very professional and informative of all things Lancaster. He took us to numerous hidden gems of places we would have never found on our own. Speciality pickles, teas, candies & scrumptious pastries were the tour fare! Although it was just us two for this tour slot, Mike performed with the same amount of energy as if there were 50 of us! We’ve used LoKal Experiences for other tours and they never disappoint! Their tour hosts are extremely knowledgeable in the subject matter of all their tours. Whether you have Mike or Dale as your tour guide, you’re guaranteed to have a pleasant experience. I would highly recommend!
Mike was very informative and very nice! It was nice to know all the types of different foods and such that are in the city! It was me, my fiance and my future sister in law with us, and each place we went to there was one thing or another that we all enjoyed! I definitely recommend this tour to others, especially first timers in Lancaster!
Wonderful tour! Kim was great! We loved all the places we stopped. Go on this tour with an empty stomach.
Mike’s knowledge and sharing of the cities history kept us engaged during the tour. Also learning about the cities preservation efforts and organizations committed to Lancaster also painted a bright future for the community. The stops along the way allowed us to enjoy different Lancaster flavors and we returned to several again during our stay in Lancaster. Frank Solano. 7/14/22
This was the most expensive of the food tours given the weekend we were in Lancaster. Our food samples were: pickles, a stroopie, a cup of tea, a cupcake, tasting at an oil and vinegar shop, and a Whoopi pie. This company is pulling in a huge profit at $70 a head! The oil and vinegar tasting is free to all customer. The other items maybe totaled $30 erring on the high end. Some interesting history told by the guide, but I’ve done food tours in 3 other cities and this was really of poor quality. Very disappointed.
Mike was very knowledgeable about Lancaster City and all the shops we visited. We really enjoyed all the treats that we sampled along the way. We would highly recommend this tour!
Mike was a phenomenal tour guide, he showed my boyfriend and I a new and exciting side of Lancaster. He was well informed and very friendly. He was comfortable and very relaxed, even patient. I booked this tour as a surprise for my boyfriend expecting it to be good, but was surprised with just how amazing the tour and Mike actually were.
Mike was a fantastic guide and full of information. He made our tour so interesting! He was so caring too, it was raining and someone on our tour wasn't dressed appropriately and he have her his coat.
The Sweet & Savory Tour was a great way to explore Lancaster city. We were introduced to several shops, cafes, and the Lancaster Central Market. We enjoyed delicious treats along the way, including olive oils, teas, cupcakes and French pastries to name a few. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and provided historical information on the city and lots of great culinary tips.
Mike was knowledgeable of the Lancaster area and took us to several unique and fun stops around town
our tour guide was more like a host!! He invited us to explore his city with exuberance and pride :)
My friend and I greatly enjoyed our tour with Mike. We went to numerous local food shops and got to taste their treats and specialities! Mike was very knowledgeable and personable. He provided us with headsets and an umbrella when he started raining.. We had a fantastic time!
Loved the headsets and the “to go” treats. Interaction with a couple of vendors was weak. More history of the area would be nice.
10/10 would recommend this tour! Mike was so nice and fun and full of history facts of Lancaster City! I grew up in the area but didn't know half of the things he knew/hadn't visited a few of our stops! The stops were a perfect combination of just that "sweet and savory" with samples to take home with you and share with your family and friends (along with all of the knowledge you learned) as well. :)
Annamarie was fantastic, energetic and helpful. Her passion for Lancaster, local shops and their products is contagious. I also enjoyed the history tidbits. She even offered me suggestions for the entire weekend. I would highly recommend booking with Lokal. I will be trying another experience with them. I was so involved with the experience I forgot to take pictures. Annamarie was so welcoming it felt like we had been friends for years.
