I booked a fishing charter as a birthday surprise for my son, and it was one of the highlights of our trip. Captain Jonathan was professional, knowledgeable, and incredibly friendly from start to finish. He made sure we were comfortable, shared his expertise, and worked hard to ensure they were able to catch fish. My son had an amazing time and was thrilled with the experience. The boat was clean, well-maintained, and equipped with everything we needed for a successful day on the water. What stood out most was Captain Jonathan's patience and dedication to making the trip enjoyable for everyone on board. The memories we made together are priceless, and it was the perfect way to celebrate my son's birthday. We would gladly book another trip the next time we're in the area.

Depending on the time of the year, we do fish around the Presque Bay State Park. What a great state Park, highly recommend on your visit to take a drive through it's free.
We quite often go in for lunch on full days, it's relaxing and the food is great. Not to mention a cold drink to celebrate a big fish! If you're interested just let your captain know in the morning, so he can plan the day accordingly.

Great day fishing with my son. Or captain was friendly, knowledgeable, and had very nice fishing gear for us. His boat was outfitted to the gills. He captured photos and video for us without us having to ask. Thanks captain Worth!
Our fishing guide was Mark Rose. We caught several small mouth fish all day. My favorite part of the day was catching the largest small mouth I've ever caught at 4.5 lbs. Would definitely recommend to any future anglers.
We had a terrific time. Captain did a great job keeping us comfortable and helping us catch a lot of fish. The boat was clean and comfortable. We’re looking forward to going again soon
Captain Mark is a fantastic guide. He was super focused on providing us with the best possible bass fishing experience. He is extremely knowledgeable and his boat is great too. My son and I couldn't have been happier. Thanks Captain Mark! We can't wait to come up to Erie and go fishing with you again!
When we booked this small mouth trip we were apprehensive as there were some storms popping up and humidity was bad several days prior. We knew small mouth are primarily active in colder water but being "locked up" for Covid so long we were willing to take a chance. Bite was slow as expected but Mark knows where these fish are hiding! We has a great time catching and losing all that we did. I was impressed how quickly he was getting the fish back into the water untraumatized after pictures taken as we are big on catch & release. Other than 4 & 5 lb small mouth, we also caught drum and walleye. All fights were fun as they were down deep in the warm water. Already looking into going back maybe in Oct with Capt Mark.
Regarding my last trip for Smallmouth on Lake Erie May 30 2020! Had a fantastic time. I have been with Mark a number of times. My son from N Carolina. My son from Pittsburgh and my nephew Justin from Erie. All were excellent. But last Tuesday May have been the best. I say this because I wanted to show my old college roommate from the 60’s a great smallmouth day. Mark made it happen. He works so hard for all of his clients. I wanted my best friend to experience a great smallmouth nite and fight. Mark put us on fish from almost the beginning. He showed my friend, Bill Dunbar how to fish a fluke. And he was 3 fish ahead of me Mark also is so good at pointing out the fish and Bill was amazed by how much Mark knows. I swear I think he can smell those fish. A fun guy who really WANTS TO MAKE HIS CLIENTS HAPPY, teach them and is a fun guy who puts everyone at ease and also makes it a fun and knowledgeable experience. I will be with him again when my son trip comes back from Pittsburgh!!
Fish were slow to bite but captain Mark found them and put us on them. Talked my son through presenting the lure to a nice female we could see in 8’ of water guarding her bed. As he said, she took it, gave a fight, leaping a couple feet from the water, but he kept the line tight and landed her with his good net help. Happened just like he said it would. Caught more nice 2-3 lb small bass With his guidance than we might have Otherwise for sure. Beautiful, calm, glass smooth Water day on Lake Erie. Enjoyed it. Thanks Cap’n!
I had the opportunity to spend time with my adult son and Mark did all he could to make it a great experience
What an amazing trip. We caught so many fish our arms hurt from reeling in monster bass. I highly recommend Mark. He had us on huge bass all day long. I was impressed with how we were able to stay in one basic area of the lake. We fished that area and caught fish all day long. We didn't spend half the trip fishing and the other half on a boat ride trying to catch fish. We were on large fish the entire day!
mark is a great captain and always finds fish, i need to spend a little more time up there and catch 5 pounder !!!
captain mark puts you right where you need to be to catch fish! Knowledgeable and friendly, had a great day!!
I have fished lake erie for small mouth bass with Capt Mark Rose a number of times now. This last 2 day trip was again awesome. We fished a number of different places with various techniques and caught big smallies both days. Not only did I catch big smallmouth but I also caught largemouth bass, rock bass and white bass not to mention a large drum. Mark is an exceptionally knowledgeable and personable guide that i highly recommend.
You can tell our Captain Mark Rose knows what he is doing. He knew the spots to go to. He was so good with our boys. We all caught fish. The small mouth were huge! Love his energy!
I have honestly never met anymore more passionate about what they do. Nobody gets more excited about fishing smallmouth than Captain Mark Rose. Easy to communicate with, great teacher, and really has the ability to understand what type of attention the client needs. Mark specializes in two things, the first is finding the fish and the second is bringing them into the boat. Don’t waist your time wondering if this is the trip you want to take, use this review to justify and book now. Thanks again for the awesome time Mark! Will be contacting you again about next year for sure.
Took a 2 day trip to catch some Lake Erie smallmouth with captain Mark Rose. Captain mark had us fish within the first 5 minutes and it didn’t stop until the end of the day. Definitely a trip for the memory books.
First smallmouth bass trip was a huge success thanks to Capt. Mark Rose and bassonline.com. Over 100 healthy smallies in two days. Personal beat for myself and son with bass over 5 pounds. Looking for a trip of a lifetime to Lake Erie, give Mark a call. Awesome, first class experience. I will be back!!
Captain is very experienced and will put you on the fish. We caught many over 4 pounds and overall great experience
My husband and 16-year-old son are not super-experienced fishermen, but Mark Rose gave them a day to remember. In four hours, they caught more than 30 bass, a few weighing more than 5 pounds. It was a terrific father/son bonding experience, and Mark made it easy for them. My son said, "It was great and a lot of fun." My husband's assessment was "Mark really knows his stuff."
My buddy Mark and I had a 2-day trip with Mark Rose on the 1st and 2nd of June.we had two great days Mark had us on fish both days. A lot of fish were put in the boat. We caught fish many different ways. The biggest fish of the trip was a 5.5 pound Smallie caught by my friend Mark. This is my fourth time fishing with Mark in the last year. I made a trip to Florida in February and fished lake Okeechobee with him. He knows how to catch fish and he puts you on them. I look forward to fishing with him many times in the future.
Captain Mark Rose put our group of 8 on the smallies we caught over 200 fish in two days and all quality fish we will be back next year this was an experience of a life time and Captain Mark Rose and his other Captains made it so much fun its like fishing with friends that bait you hook lol GREAT GROUP OF GUYS!
This was by far the best trip ever my son and I had the best day. Thank you Captain Tom! Everything thing went perfect from payment to being contact through out the process about time and place what the weather was doing to what we should wear and how the fish were biting. We will be booking more trips in the future.
This may be redundant, but I wish to follow through on the review of this trip. On Saturday I fished with Captain Mark Rose for Lake Erie smallmouths. In an afternoon we caught 12-15 bass. There were no little ones. I missed a bunch more. One broke off. It seems like only the big ones do that. Mark is a good guide and a good guy. He taught me some skills that I used later in my kayak. I recommend him as a fishing guide. You will catch fish. I also nominate him for promotion to Admiral.
Had a blast with captain mark. Landed around 50 with a couple lunkers 5.1 & 5.8. Mark is very professional and put us on the fish! I've been fishing for 50 years and been on several charters but this by far was the best, cant wait to get back !
Capt Mark Rose put us on fish, and we hammered them for over two hours. 17 in the boat and a few more we got close. We’ll be back! Thanks Mark.
Capt. Mark.. we appreciate the trip! You were professional and did a great job finding us some good smallmouth bass. We were able to talk and joke around with you as if we had known you for many years. My wife and I will definitely be back and I highly recommend anyone looking to catch big smallies .. and I mean big ones (5-6lb) .. you need to book with this man!
Mark was a Great Captain and will put you on Fish! Knows where the fish are and if aren't hitting in one spot, will move around until he finds a spot where they're! Overall it was a Great Day and lots of fun. If your looking for an action packed Day, look up Mark Rose Bass Fishing Lake Erie!
We had to deal with the dense fog and a tough bite all day, but Tom still managed to get us on some big fish. I caught a 5+ pound smallmouth and my friend caught his personal best smallmouth a 20 inch 5 5. Tom was a great captain and took care of all of our needs. I would recommend him to anyone wanting an enjoyable day of fishing.
Spring fishing for Bass with Mark Rose every year, for the last 6 years, has been nothing short of spectacular. Mark is the consummate professional. He adapts to changing wave and weather conditions will ease. Always catch big fish with him. I always go back if work allows.
True professional guide. Mark put us on fish immediately. PB fish caught by both myself and son. East wind myth busted with Mark, unbelievable day. Great family experience. Only boat repeatedly catching fish. Thanks again. See you soon.
Well today we had one of the best trips every with capt mark rose he put us on fish all day would recommend him to anyone if there looking for a guided trip on erie we will be going back again with the best guide on erie thanks again mark rose for the aweaome time!
Captain Mark Rose has been a personal friend of mine for a 3-4 years now. Over the past year I took 4 trips with him with business clients of mine. I take my clients with him because its easier than doing it on my boat. He has all the latest & greatest gear & he knows where the fish are on a daily basis! No brainer for me, my clients leave happy, & I get to help a friend make some money. On April 26th of this year 2020 we went fun fishing like we always do when he has some time off & that day I caught my PB smallie of 7.23lbs in the bay! We caught over 20 that day & the majority were over 4lbs. If you want a great trip for your business clients, friends, or just family trip call Captain Mark Rose! Abby Abbondanza
Capt. Mark Rose is the best! Because he's on the lake nearly every day, he knows where the smallmouth lives and is anxious and willing to take you to his spots. He works hard for your enjoyment and satisfaction. I recently took my brother, an avid walleye fisherman, on a trip with Capt. Mark and he immediately became a smallmouth enthusiast. I highly recommend a trip with Bass on line and Cast Mark Rose.
I’ll start by saying I fished the Bassmaster Circuit for 14 years. In that time I had the chance to fish with several fishermen that started their careers as a guide. A few are personal friends with long running National TV shows. Most of them said that guiding fishermen was the toughest thing they ever did. There’s lots of pressure considering things like vacation time, travel time, motel rooms, food, guides fees etc. There are lots of guides around, some stand out, Mark Rose really stands out. Prior to guiding, Mark owned a car and boat detailing business. Once I personally witnessed Mark work on a clients boat for 5 hours. It was in showroom condition when he was done. I say this because Mark’s truck and boat are always in showroom condition. His boat is always clean and organized. He has plenty of organized tackle for changing conditions and plenty of pre rigged rods for many types of fishing. He works both hard and efficiently. It’s easy to see, he really loves what he does, and takes it very seriously. I’ve fished both Okeechobee and Lake Erie with Captain Mark as I call him. I’ve been with him several times when clients called. He is always very courteous and stresses the fact that he will try to accommodate scheduling in any way, and do everything possible to make the trip a success. Mark seems to post pictures of satisfied customers every day on Facebook. I often comment “another day of Captain Mark providing smiles and memories.” If you’re considering a guided fishing trip on Lake Erie or Okeechobee in the winter, I highly recommend getting in touch with Captain Mark Rose.
What a great day on the water with Mark Rose. We crushed the small mouth the whole time we were out, probably catching around 30+ fish in just a few hours. Definitely caught personal bests for us both. This guy is a professional and knows what he’s doing. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!
If you have never had the experience of fishing for smallmouth bass I highly recommend you get ahold of Capt. Mark Rose. Very knowledgeable and experienced. I have been five or six times. Love the experience. Thanks again Capt.
Captain Mark Rose takes us every year on a great FISHING trip. This year was amazing. 50 + fish. All of them was 3 to 5 lbs. This is one of my best trips of all time.
Fished with Capt. Mark many times. He is very knowledgeable and will work hard to put you on fish. Which he does. Caught my PB smallmouth(7lbs-1oz). I highly recommend a trip with Capt. Mark.
You can always count on Captain Mark to give you the best day fishing you can possibly have. He is by far the best of the best when it comes to guiding. You will not go wrong if you book with him, guaranteed he will get you hooked and keep you coming back. Floyd Mcelwain
