We had a wonderful day with Tom. He is quite knowledgeable. I love the little extra tidbits.

Traveling with two family members and met up with two more. The van held all of us comfortably. We were able to visit the historic sites we really needed to see. Our guide was able to take us to an Ancestors grave and Rittenhouse State Park. These sites were very important to me. Thank you Tom for the personal touch during the tour. Our guide engaged everyone in conversation even the teenager!
Barry was a knowledgeable and charismatic guide. Would love to use his services again. Learned many interesting tidbits.
Marty provided an outstanding tour of Philadelphia for our family. He is an experienced guide and was very well informed about history and the current life of Philly. Our experience was fun, tailored to our interests and thorough. Well worth the money.
The driver/guide was very pleasant and super knowledgeable about the history of the city. He was punctured, polite , pleasant, patient and professional.
We had such a great tour with Tom! He was very personable, knowledgeable, and experienced. He took us to see many of neighborhoods and sites that we were hoping to see and more. We always enjoy doing a tour of the city first thing in any new city so we have a better appreciation of it while we visit and this did not disappoint!
Rick was a great tour guide! We learned so much! Rick has so much knowledge about Philly. I recommend taking this tour and requesting Rick for your guide
Tom was awesome!! He knows the city well and its rich history. I highly recommend this tour if you are visiting Philadelphia!!
We had the best time learning about the city of brotherly love and the home of Independence! What an incredible city and tour host! Thank you so much!
Was a great informative tour of Philadelphia, covering various neighborhoods. Also flexible to stop where we wanted to get out of the car and linger (or not). Thanks James!
5 Stars – An Unforgettable Philly Tour with Rick! We had an absolutely fantastic time exploring Philadelphia with Rick as our tour guide! From start to finish, he made the entire experience engaging, informative, and fun. Rick’s knowledge of the city’s history and culture is truly impressive—he brought each landmark to life with great stories, little-known facts, and a clear passion for Philly. He was also incredibly friendly and easygoing, making everyone in our group feel comfortable and welcome. Rick tailored the tour to our interests, made great food and photo stop recommendations, and drove us smoothly through the city so we could relax and enjoy the sights. Whether it was iconic spots like the Liberty Bell or unique local gems we’d never have discovered on our own, Rick made sure we saw the best of what Philadelphia has to offer. Highly recommend booking with him—he’s a true professional and a fantastic ambassador for the city!
Highly recommend this tour! Marty was incredibly knowledgeable about Philadelphia history! We learned so much! I gave him a list of the things we were hoping to see and do. He got it all done plus more! We had my elderly parents with us who not always wanted to walk. He got us so close to everything to minimize walking in the heat. I can’t say enough about this tour! Thank you! Well worth the money!
Barry was great! Even though we’re from the area, it’s been a while and never took a tour with our kids. We all learned so much! It was just the right mix of information and history. Our 6, 8, and 10 year old had a great time!
Barry is so knowledgeable and passionate about Philly! It was my first time to visit and I had no idea that there was such a variety of historical areas and buildings. So many things to see and do. Going in this tour really helped me to pick out my favorite places to go visit.
Adam was an amazing tour guide. He took us by all the sites and was very knowledgeable and friendly. I would highly recommend.
I was in Philly with my 17 year-old son. Never been before and it was an impromptu trip with very little planning. Marty texted me the night before to ascertain what we wanted to do. When we had very few ideas (did a morning tour also), Marty took it upon himself to plan a great day. It was a relaxed atmosphere and Marty was very pleasant and informative. Marty knows Philly. Ask for him - he’s great. Could not have asked for a better day.
Barry was an energetic and very knowledgeable guide. We had 3 short stops along the way, and the car had nice space. I would recommend.
Adam was a very knowledgeable and fun tour guide that treated us like good old friends visiting Philly for the very first time coming from California. We have withstood Fairbanks, Alaska and Wyoming winter weather, but we were surprised of the cold chilly (because of the sudden gusts of wind) weather in Philly. Because of this, he went the extra mile to stand in line for us at the Independence Hall while we went to an exhibit room to warm ourselves up until our group was called to enter the hall. He took great pictures of us, while telling us stories about the historical landmarks and buildings that we visited. His tour made it definitely worth the visit of Philly for me, my wife, and our 3 kids. Would highly recommend this tour with Adam as your guide.
We Venture private six hour tour driving and walking was absolutely fantastic. We had Barry who is a wealth of knowledge and so enjoyable to spend the day with. I cannot recommend this tour enough. What a way to learn about Philadelphia. They can also offer an electric golf cart and moped tour. We also spent an afternoon at the Philadelphia art museum and was definitely a museum not to be missed. We took advantage of the free guided tour and they were well worth it. Philly is a great city to visit and we came home just loving it
Our Guide TOM Courtney was the best part of the trip!! He was a true historian, well traveled and knew so much about Philly and all the historical characters. We felt we got the BEST tour possible to view and get to know Philadelphia. It was a fabulous day!!!
Adam Clements with WeVenture was both knowledgeable and entertaining. We had a great day and learned so much about our country’s history, seeing the sights of Old Philly, and having our first Philly Cheesesteak. We would never have been able to do all this on our own. Great day!
We had a great Philly tour with Adam Clements (WeVenture). Historical knowledge was awesome intermixed with humor and patience!! Definitely would book again!
Special and personal stories of our guide, Barry. Covered everything we wanted to see and do and then some.
Our guide Adam was so knowledgeable as well as entertaining! He told lots of fun stories of historical people and places. We even stopped for Philly steaks for lunch at his favorite spot.
Tom, our tour guide, was amazing! He picked us up at our hotel. We booked the 4 hour tour but he went over by almost an hour (thank you Tom!). The first thing he did was ask us what we wanted to see, and he tailored the tour to us. I have a son that loves Rocky. I tried to book the Rocky tour but the Rocky tour gets booked up months in advance, so we asked Tom if he could include things from the Rocky tour but also include the history part of the tour in old town. It was amazing! He is so knowledgeable in Philadelphia history and Rocky. He also made the tour fun-he has a great personality. We were all extremely impressed by his knowledge. Thank you Tom!
They cancelled on me at the last minute and made no effort to try to fix the situation. We were left without tickets to major sites. Very bad service.
Do not recommend at all. We have been on similar history tours of Boston, Chicago and D.C. etc and they were all excellent. This was by far our least enjoyed tour we’ve ever taken. It was like having your uncle, who doesn’t like you, being forced to show you around town at Thanksgiving.
James was fantastic. Got all the tickets before the tour. Had in-depth knowledge of Philly. Was friendly and personable. Great 8 hour driving tour. Showed us additional places outside of the requested itinerary as well.
We cannot say enough about how amazing this tour was for us. Adam, our guide, packed a whole lot into the time we had in Philly! He has an incredible amount of knowledge and loves his job. We took a lot of photos, sharing just a few. Thanks again WeVenture and Adam! Rick &Robin from Montana
Are tour guide Tom being outstanding, great manners got out open the doors at our stops. Very knowledge and great personality. On time for the start of our tour. It was the best of all the activities that we decide to do. We were very glad that we selected the 6-hour tour instead of the 4-hour tour. I would definitely recommend the tour. For seniors I would suggest the 6 hours for time to get in and out of the car and take their time walking through the various places.
Tom was excellent and I would highly recommend him. His personality was outstanding. He was very knowledge. Polite helped us in abd out of the vehicle. He took our pictures using our cameras so that we could all be in the pictures
We had a recent trip to the DC area and decided to take a train ride to Philadelphia for the day. We weren’t sure what we wanted to do; so, we did some research and came across this private tour that had a little bit of everything and took a chance. Upon our arrival, we met up with Barry as he picked us up at the train station and shared our itinerary for the day. He shared his knowledge about Philadelphia’s rich history as a local. He talked about the capitol building, the city’s roots, the present, and what’s coming in the future. Our day was an ADVENTURE! We saw where everything began in the historic part of the city like Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell, Betsy Ross’ house, and the oldest continuous lived-on street in the US! We also got to see Philly through murals, Little Italy, art, and traditions. We got to see a house full of mosaics, the Rocky steps, and the LOVE sculpture! Barry recommended & drove us to some authentic Philly cheesesteaks at Campos that were 10/10! The day flew by and we enjoyed ourselves to the fullest. I HIGHLY recommend not only this tour, but Barry was a tour guide! He was genuinely knowledgeable about all the questions we had, kind, helpful, and kept us engaged the whole day! I truly had the best time with my family and I felt there was no better way to go!
Adam made the tour very enjoyable. His knowledge and communication was terrific. We’d really recommend this to people visiting Philadelphia for the first time.
Barry was a fantastic tour guide! He was very knowledgeable about Philadelphia history, hot spots, and best local eats! We did the 6 hour tour and stopped for lunch at Campo’s Philly Cheesesteaks & it was a 10/10! He took us to all the stops we wanted (including Independence Hall, the LOVE statue, etc) but also took us by some hidden gems like a house covered in mosaics! We were so impressed and saw Philly in the BEST light thanks to Barry!
Barry was such a wonderful guide! I was so pleased with our experience. We got to learn so much about the city from him.
Great personalized tour of Philly. The team at WeVenture was very responsive and made the booking process very easy. Our tour guide Adam was very knowledgeable about the city both at the present and its history. He easily accommodated our goals for the tour while helping to balance the attention span of our two toddlers. The van was clean and fit us and our car seats well. It was a great way to comfortably see the “must do’s” of Philly in a short amount of time and even snagged some cheese steaks and water ice while we were at it. We have done our fair share of tours while traveling and feel comfortable recommending this tour if you find yourself in Philadelphia!
100% AMAZING!!!!! This is the way you should see Philly for the first time!!!! If you are reading this, and you are ON THE FENCE - it's worth it!!! GO!!!! We only had a few hours to tour Philly and it's a city we don't travel to often, so we decided to go with this incredible tour and it was so WORTH IT!!! 100% WORTH IT!!!! I went with my mother and this was perfectly paced, lots of information, wasn’t scripted so it felt personal and Tom even made sure we visited an artistic spot new to all of us. Tom is so engaging and not a second of time felt wasted or waiting. I would recommend this to anyone and feels like it isn’t duplicative of any other tours you might also do from them (like food or historic walking tours). Definitely ask for Tom!
Tom was super knowledgeable and friendly. We learned a lot about the founding of the US, and toured the sites in old city. Great experience.
Tom's passion for Philadelphia and extensive knowledge of its history and landmarks shone through from start to finish, making our first day in Philly amazing. He was flexible and allowed us to get out or stay in the car anywhere he took us. He picked up on one of my family's neurodiversity and rolled with it beautifully. It was perfect. Thank you!
Adam was very attentive and very knowledgeable. The tour was so worth the time. Enjoyable and would highly recommend it if you are looking to see the highlights of Philly in one day.
1. Large Comfortable oversize Van. 2. Adam our Tour Guide was Excellent, His historic knowledge was amazing. 3. My Business Customers, Loved it!!
Our guide, Adam, was outstanding!!! He was super friendly and extremely knowledgeable. We learned so much about Philadelphia and had so much fun doing so. I highly recommend this tour…we had a wonderful afternoon!!
Our guide Tom was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. He added a great intangible to a regular tour. I had limited mobility and he did everything he could to help minimize the walking and standing I had to do. Great lunch recommendation for the obligatory Philly cheesesteak. We got to see all the major spots in Philly plus more that we weren't even aware of. He was very flexible with what we wanted. I liked that he called a few days before the tour to touch base, introduce himself and find out what our expectations were.
This tour was fantastic. We were picked up promptly at our hotel at the arranged time, in a very clean and comfortable van. Adam was our tour guide, and he did a wonderful job. His knowledge of Philadelphia history was outstanding and exactly what we hoped for. Adam allowed us to customize our tour according to the sites we wanted to see, which were primarily historical. Adam took us to Reading Terminal Market, Independence Hall, Congress Hall, the Liberty Bell, Betsy Ross house, and the Philadelphia Mint. He provided so much information on the way to each location, including driving by other significant sites along the way. Adam was courteous and helpful with my husband who required a wheelchair to visit most places. He also took us to Campo’s to pick up a delicious Philly Steak sandwich on our way back to the hotel. We had a wonderful day with Adam as our tour guide and highly recommend this tour.
James was a spectacular guide! My parents, sisters and I enjoyed our day with him riding around Philly and learning about its history! His depth of knowledge as a PhD-level guide was exceptional. Even more so, he was lighthearted and kind and made our tour fun and memorable! Highly recommend James for anyone.
Despite the rave reviews I read about this tour prior to booking, I would rate this tour just average. Although we had listed the attractions we wanted to visit, our tour left out some key ones and instead included others that we didn’t really have an interest in. Note that your guide does NOT attend certain attractions with you - Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, Congress Hall, Betsy Ross House, etc. He drives you to them and drops you off for those tours and then picks you up again when they conclude. (Tour did handle booking tickets to Independence Hall for us.) I felt like our guide also discouraged us from adding attractions onto our agenda that the company covers in other separate tours (ie, Valley Forge) and even talked us out of visiting them on our own time after the tour ended (US Mint). Our tour guide, Owen, came highly recommended by other reviewers, but I found him to be just so-so. Overall, I didn’t feel like the tour (which was quite expensive) really added any value vs hopping the city transportation and visiting the historic attractions on your own.
Tom was wonderful! Our private tour was 4 hours, and we stayed engaged the entire time. Our tour started at 8:00 AM and lasted until 12 Noon. I was so happy we decided to do an early tour to avoid the crowds. I would definitely recommend this tour for anyone visiting Philadelphia.
Our tour guide, Tom, was what made the tour memorable and fun. He had facts and stories he shared, was always upbeat and eager to make sure we had the best experience possible. He was sensitive to our needs as well. It was absolutely the highlight of our trip to Philadelphia.
