I was kind of wary about visiting Philadelphia because I thought it was dirty and full of crime and angry people, but it’s a beautiful city full of rich culture and history, and food! Adam is such an amazing tour guide! He was incredibly helpful and friendly and made sure I got to see everything I wanted. And the cheesesteak place he took me to was exactly what I was looking for! Not some touristy “Look at me, I’m eating a ‘cheesesteak’ so I can post it on Instagram”, no, he took me to an authentic local place that I loved SO much! It was everything I expected (and wanted) from local Philadelphia culture. He set everything up and planned everything and did all the driving and helped take many photos with myself. And the city itself… wonderful! Please, if you’re on the fence wondering if you should visit… DO IT! I was “forced” to go due to my extreme love of colonial American history, I didn’t actually “want” to go, but it was where all the history was so I had no choice. But I ended up loving the city by the time I left. Actually, I loved it within the first hour! And take the full day 8-hour tour. It sounds like a lot, but there’s so much to do there, even 8 hours will fly by. I know how people think about Philadelphia, believe me I was one of them. But taking the amazing tour with Adam changed my perspective and opened my eyes to a truly beautiful city with vibrant culture and so much history it’ll blow your mind.

We had a great time getting to know Philly, such a beautiful city. Adam really looked after us. During the trip not only did Adam drove us around and explain the historical significance of each spot, Adam also pay close attention to our needs and proactively arrange the best reception from the sites, like calling ahead to let the personnel there know to look out for us. Very much appreciate the thoughtful service. We can highly recommend WeVenture and especially our guide Adam.
One of the best days I've had in my American vacation. Got to see where the US started. I had the full "Philly" experience. Had a Philly cheesesteak sandwhich at Jim's. Saw the liberty bell, magic garden, independence hall etc. our guide Adam was very knowledgeable and even went the distance to taking us to Kobe Bryant's childhood home and Highschool. Ended our tour with an epic Rocky Balboa running up the Rocky Steps
We had the pleasure of taking a private tour of Philadelphia with James, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. James, a Philly native, brought so much energy and local knowledge to our day. We saw so many incredible parts of the city, from the iconic landmarks to hidden gems we would have never discovered on our own. His unique insights and personal stories added such a rich layer to our experience. One of the highlights was how James went above and beyond for my 10-year-old son. My son had mentioned he wanted to visit two states on our trip, so James went out of his way to drive us across the river to New Jersey. We got some fantastic photos by the water with a beautiful view of the Philadelphia skyline. It was such a thoughtful and fun touch that made the day even more special. James made us feel like we were exploring the city with a friend, not just a guide. If you’re looking for an authentic, informative, and personalized tour of Philadelphia, I can’t recommend James enough!
The tour was outstanding. Adam did an excellent job of guiding us to the key sites and explaining the history of the sites. Highly recommend the tour and Adam as a guide.
Tom Courtney, the tour guide, was so knowledgeable about Philadelphia and the historical aspects of the places we visited! He was patient with me because I am a slow walker. The best way to learn is through asking questions and having dialogue which is what we did through the entire tour. I had the opportunity to walk down streets and see markets and old buildings with commentary about them. He is kind, very personable, and since he knows people, we got to hear stories and talk to people. Also, I told him that I will be moving next year so he showed me neighborhoods and the history of those who live there. I highly recommend Tom for tours! Also, being a previous teacher (I am a teacher), I appreciated how much I learned about Philly through Tom! I totally
We enjoyed the history and modern stories of Philadelphia. Our tour guide was fantastic. We learned so much.
We enjoyed our history tou. This unique tour in addition to past history, showed us the city and the people who are contributing today in the art, culture, food, to build up a current story of the city with the values of our forefathers. We loved our knowledgeable guide, Adam and would recommend this tour wholeheartedly to anyone.
James gave us a great tour, we appreciate his knowledge regarding Philly and Independence hall, Liberty bell. We accomplished a side goal of experiencing a true Philly cheesesteak sandwich.
My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful day thanks to our guide Adam. He was flexible and allowed us to customize our tour. He was extremely knowledgeable about each site we visited and stopped for photos whenever we wanted as well as food/shopping/restroom breaks. We learned a lot and engaged in fun conversation. We highly recommend WeVenture and Adam!!
The 5 star rating was totally based on not only the expertise of our driver, Adam but his cheerful personality and enjoyable disposition. He is hugely knowledgeable about the area and offered “did you know…” details about the areas we traversed. Adam made the day so much fun and relaxing at the same time. Ask for Adam, you will have a blast!
My sister and I were the travelers. A third friend joined us. Working with the WeVenture office in Philadelphia was easy. We were pleased to pay in advance so that they knew we were seriously interested in a guide driving us to four areas outside of the city, where our ancestors settled in 1683. 75 years later our ancestors represented the Continental Congress in the Revolutionary War. Two of the four areas were Valley Forge and The Battle of Brandywine. Others were the earliest Welsh Quakers Meeting Houses, where Adam went beyond by arranging for two church members to take us into the meeting houses giving us a tour within a tour. There was no additional charge for this from WeVenture, it was a piece of Adam Clements’s superb preparation. Of course, each of us picked up Meeting House Offering envelopes to send offerings to these marvelous historic churches. About Adam Clements – he must be the most knowledgeable guide in Philadelphia. Adam took the materials my sister sent, personally drove the custom tour he arranged for us with our map and ancestry materials for timing. My sister’s review will include the places we asked to see. We engaged WeVenture for a full day and a half a day. Adam is a historian with a specialty in the Revolutionary War and delightful to boot.
From start to finish a terrific experience with Viator, and the tour company, and our guide Adam. It was a tour I booked for 5 adults. Because of the number of people and the schedule we were looking for, I ended up calling Viator. The agent that was able to book this was outstanding. We were originally looking for a 3-4 hour private tour but the companies that provided that did not either have vehicles available on the day we needed or no tours on that day. The Viator rep was able to get us a private tour for the day and we wanted for a slightly higher price. But we could customize our itinerary to meet our time constraints. I received all the pertinent information from Viator and was able to share with my friends easily. Next, a representative from the actual tour company called to give me more information, logistics in nature, confirming pick up location ( at our hotel) and time, confirming our wish to be back at hotel by a specific time frame, and to let us know Adam would be our guide and he would be in contact the morning of the tour. Adam was in touch that morning confirming our schedule. He arrived at our agreed to time. He had a nice vehicle large enough to comfortably fit us all. While we drove to the various sites around Philadelphia, Adam shared A LOT of information about the city, state, and it’s history. On occasion we pulled over , were able to stay in our air conditioned vehicle while Adam pointed out interesting things. He had a route laid out and stops that perfectly suited our needs. We stopped by or at least saw from the car all the major sites in the city. Adam gave us the option to of staying for longer and going in some sights or skipping it and doing on our own later ( as we chose to do for many museums and there are quite a few ). We did choose to take our time at the Elfers St, liberty bell, Rocky steps, Love statue, Christ Church, and the museum at Second Bank. We drove through the Italian market area ( and later during our trip had an amazing dinner at a restaurant Adam recommended). We stopped for lunch and had absolutely delicious cheesesteak sandwiches at Jim’s . The tour far exceeded our expectations! We would strongly recommend it to all.
We booked this tour last minute and was lucky to reserve It. I was contemplating my decision for the full day tour, but am so glad we did It. Owen was our tour guide and he was amazing!!! We saw so much and learned so much. He completely customized our tour for us and we not only visited places that we knew about, but places that we had no idea existed. We had the best time!!! I totally recommend this tour!!!
My wife and I toured Philly on Segways. Our tour guide Owen was awesome and knowledgeable. The weather held out so what was scheduled to be a two hour tour lasted three; an incredible and memorable experience.

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour. We learned many interesting facts and tidbits about Philadelphia, and Pennsylvania, and their history. We are an elderly group, and would probably would have preferred a tour of about six hours, rather than eight hours, or taken a couple of breaks in the early afternoon to keep us alert. Our tour guide was great.

Very interesting and well-structured city. It has a very dense and compact center, tertiary, with perpendicular avenues, and with a large residential area along a river with beautiful banks
