With its towering skyscrapers, there’s something to marvel at throughout the year, but during the holiday season, downtown Philly really puts on the Ritz. One of the highlights of this time of year is, of course, the Christmas tree at the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
At the heart of City Hall in Philadelphia, the Big Tree display stands as a vibrant symbol of the city’s spirit, adorned with lights and seasonal decorations that captivate visitors. This iconic landmark is not just a sight to behold but also a gathering place, where people come to celebrate, snap photos, and soak in the festive energy of Philadelphia.
The German-inspired Christmas Market and the iconic LOVE statue are always a big hit with visitors. Perhaps take a stroll past the wonderful shops that sell handmade crafts and yummy treats.
Weaving through the streets of Philadelphia to a couple of our favorite smaller, neighborhood light displays. One is nothing short of a “Miracle” with lights spanning the street, homes decorated to the max, and trees covered in twinkling lights. This display is quintessential South Philly
One of Philly's oldest parks, Franklin Square dazzles visitors with a massive light display that is synced to classic holiday tunes
Channel your inner Rocky and dash up the iconic steps, feeling the energy and excitement with each stride. As you reach the top, take a triumphant moment to throw your fists in the air, just like Rocky, and enjoy the breathtaking view of Philadelphia, now dazzling with holiday lights.

Adam was our tour guide. He was prompt and very helpful getting us in and out of the van. This tour was the ending event of our annual Family Fun Day. Adam was very knowledgeable about the city and he knew the best light shows to drive us to. He was very personable and he allowed us sufficient time to get out and view close up multiple street’s Christmas lights and decorations. It had snowed the night before and it was a bitter cold night but it was made so enjoyable by our excellent tour guide and his city light tour!
We saw fun out of the way christmas lights and decorations as well as fecorszed city squares. Tom was hreat. Knowledgeable and flexible. Have me lots of opportunities to take pics. It was my first time in Phila at Christmas.
Brittni was fabulous. She is well versed in Philly history and current events in the city. Recommend asking for Brittni.
What a great experience we had with the Philadelphia Holiday Lights driving tour! Sure, you can sit at home and watch a Hallmark Christmas movie. Or, you can get up off the couch and have your own holiday experience! I live in the Philadelphia region, and I've been meaning to see the holiday displays in the city with my family for years. This private driving tour turned out to be a real revelation for me. It's the perfect way to enjoy a destination (even one in your own backyard) without having to worry about anything. Someone else drives, someone else navigates, someone else takes care of everything. We were driven all around the city and it was so much fun. The personalized experience made me feel like we were VIPs. Adam was a fantastic tour guide... polite, engaging, knowledgeable, friendly, considerate, and professional. I am very pleased with the experience he provided for my family and look forward to taking another tour with WeVenture!
We signed up for a Sunday evening tour on a very cold night! It was amazing. Adam, our guide, was friendly and so knowledgeable. We loved his stories about Philly- he's not a native but you would never know! We began by stopping at Smedley Street in South Philly, where neighbors put on an incredible holiday display in the center lawn, and every house is decorated. Next, we drove through the neighborhood a bit, enjoying so many classic Christmas window and house displays. The Miracle on 13th Street display was crazy busy, but Adam found a way and we were able to have a pass through to see the incredible displays at each house- some even had little fireplaces set up! A quick stop at Isgro's the best bakery in Philly and then a stop at Franklin Square for the light show. Finally, we jumped out of the car for a few minutes to visit the Portal- what a unique experience! It was a great way to get in the Christmas spirit and enjoy the city without worrying about where we were, driving in the crazy traffic, or stopping whenever we wanted to get out and stroll (not too frequently, given the cold!) I would recommend it to anyone!
This tour was amazing! Our guide Tom drove us all over the city to see how people decorated their own neighborhoods and finished it off with a wonderful visit to a Christmas market. As a lifelong Philadelphian I thought I had seen it all, but Tom showed me another side of Philly for the holidays.
What a great time! I took my teen sons with me and we thought it was dope! Tom our guide was filled with so much information as we toured the streets. Tom is polite, friendly, definitely giving safe comforting vibes. We all laughed and learned a lot. Highly recommend, it’s a Holiday must and our new family tradition now for us. So worth the money! We left merry and bright.
I had such a blast on the holiday lights tour! I’m fairly new to Philadelphia so everywhere we went was a brand new experience for me. We went to some hidden gems you’d never know to visit without the tour. Our tour guide, Tom, was exceptional. You can see his passion for both Christmas and for Philadelphia. His face would light up like the Christmas decorations whenever he would tell us stories about the city. I’d highly recommend requesting him directly!!
What a fun tour!! I've lived in Philly my whole life and had no idea there were so many impressive streets that get decked out for the holidays. Our guide Tom was awesome and took us to some jaw dropping decorations. It was the perfect holiday gift to give to some friends. We had a blast!
Oh wow, what a bright view. Tom brought us on a tour that touched all over the city showing us areas that tourist and locals alike don't often go. We got to walk around areas with well coordinated light systems and one spot that was playing the movie frosty on a random screen. This was an wonderful time and he did amazing job, the light show at Franklin square was absolutely incredible.
Tom did an amazing job guiding us through the most charming holiday spots in the city. Smedley circle is a virtually unknown gem where the entire block coordinates decorations and the green space in the middle of the block has inflatables including one of Frosty with the movie playing projected onto his stomach! After that, we went to Miracle on 13th street. This is an absolute must-see! The entire street is decked out and each home has a different theme like The Grinch, The Nutcracker, and Christmas Vacation. Then we went to Franklin Square to get drinks (both boozy and non-alcoholic available) and food and to see the light show that plays every half an hour. You can sit by a fire pit, roast smores, rent a curling station, play miniature golf, or go on the carousel here. This entire tour was intimate, cozy, and festive. I absolutely recommend it and ask for Tom if you can - he’s an excellent guide!
What a great way to start the holidays. Sparkly sites all over the city. Definitely got me into the holiday spirit! Also got the chance to shop the holiday market.
The Holiday Lights were really outstanding!!! Tom did a great job talking and navigating around traffic, stopping at places I had never heard about. He also timed it just right for us to enjoy the light show at Franklin Square. We finished the tour at Love Park, the perfect place to enjoy hot chocolate on a cold evening. Great tour! Would do it again!! Thanks, Tom!!!
This was my first time seeing all of the Holiday Lights in Philly and everything was so festive and cute! Tom was a great guide! He took care of everyone and everything- and he was really funny as well! This tour takes the stress out of figuring out where to go, how to get there and where to park. Tom really knows his stuff. I highly recommend for friends or family, it was a perfect evening!
Tom is a lovely person. Excellent service. Brought us to great and beautiful places. Learned a lot about Philly history.
