We had a blast! The puzzles were not too easy, loved seeing the city from the ground and not a car. It was so cool and my kids thought so too. I would love to do this again in a different part of the city. Bonus that the parking area recommended wasnt busy and easy parking . The hints were really helpful. I loved it and recommend to my friends. Sad its over. Thanks for the hardwork that went into this!

Very engaging. Even though I've lived in Phila for years, this game helped me discover things that I would have never paid attention to! My friends enjoyed it too! It was incredibly interactive. I can't wait for them to make another one for my city!
Did this with a group of adult friends and their teenage daughter. I enjoy escape rooms and I enjoy wandering city neighborhoods, taking in the vibes, and noticing the small details, so this type of game was perfect for me. The physical materials really makes this is a much better experience than the basic phone aps most of these games run on. Extra kudos for some of the clever gambit, particularly the included glasses and the use of the flags in the environment.
So much fun. Took about 2.5hours. We had a great time!!
This was a cool experience! A parking recommendation would have been helpful. I found free parking for 2 hours but then I had to move my car and ended up paying $32 in the parking garage which interrupted our outdoor escape room experience. The challenge really put our sleuthing minds to work and it was just what my daughter and I needed to celebrate her 20th birthday. Stay in the shade and use the crosswalks and allow for enough time to explore within the experience. Bring water and where a Fanny pack to keep your hands free! Wear shoes and cute outfits for all the breathtaking gardens and historical architecture. Don’t forget to visit William in the Free Library, true pleasure. The quaint Peddler’s Coffee Shop was welcoming and supportive of the process. Families with children can bring an extra set of clothes because of the refreshing splash pad at Sister’s Cafe. Mr. Frostee was just what we needed while we sat under the shade to crack the code! The process was seamless and engaging with possible hints just before we got frustrated. Great job to the masterminds!!! Being an art teacher, it was awesome to include Calder and Moore and other educational components. Thank you for a day well spent making memories!
We had a great time exploring Logan Square! I have driven past/through this area my whole life but have never taken the time to walk through the various parks. The gardens were beautiful. Make sure you pick a day that's not too hot and that you give yourself 3 hours (so you have time to stop for a drink too!) Would not recommend having more than 6 people.
This outdoor escape game was so great! Loved walking around Philly to find clues. We did the casual play setting and it was more challenging than I expected. Lots of great puzzles and clues! My husband and I live in Philly so it was also really nice to get out and play in our city in a way we had not before. My favorite part was the postcard word puzzle using a sculpture downtown. I have NEVER noticed that sculpture before, and we have lived here for 17 years! It was a great surprise. Plus I got to explore other landmarks I am familiar with in a whole new way. I highly recommend playing if you are from Philly, or if you are visiting and just want a cool way to get out and around on foot downtown!
We really enjoyed the puzzles and how they incorporated real world locations we never would have noticed otherwise. The difficulty was a nice balance of challenging but solvable. If you like puzzles/escape rooms and are looking for a way to explore Philly, this makes for a nice afternoon!
We did this as part of a team offsite and everyone had a great time. It wasn’t overly difficult but provided enough of a challenge that it took us a few hours to complete. The web app guides you smoothly through the experience and offers helpful hints when you get stuck. Instead of finishing at Federal Donuts, we wrapped up at Victory Brewing to enjoy the AC (middle of August is hot :) ), drinks, and food. Highly recommended, even for locals, since the challenge makes you stop and notice places you probably drive past and take for granted.
Our family loved this game! We have done a lot of escape room type games (both at a location and from a box), and this did not disappoint. We loved getting to walk around Philly solving puzzles. We had so much fun and saw a part of the city that we had not spent a lot of time in previously. We needed to use some hints but not a ton so the difficulty level felt just about right. I recommended it to my friends!
I thought our adventure in Philadelphia was very good. Good storyline, good material (sealed envelopes), good variety of different types of puzzles, Good walking distance (1.5-2 miles), excellent real-world clues. I'm very familiar with this area, but I still hadn't taken the time to explore some of these spots in detail. Every location (e.g. park, square, fountain, etc.) was available on Google Maps. The overall difficulty was harder than I expected, but I think that’s perfect, since you can use hints at any time after you get tired. The hints are done very well as to not spoil the solution, just help you out a little. We also appreciated being able to leave the area after a certain point. We planned to have dinner in a different area, so it worked out well.
It was a lot of fun!! We enjoyed the puzzles and learning new things about the city! We did the Logan Square, Philadelphia box.
This was a lot of fun! I've lived near and visited Philly a lot over the years, and with this game I got to learn more about so many places I've overlooked before! Definitely recommend to anyone who wants to get a new perspective on their city!
My family and I loved the Philly Escapely. We had a great time and it was very well thought out. We look forward to trying another in a different city and hopefully if you do another one in Philly we would love to try it!
Got this as a Christmas gift for my husband and finally got to enjoy some great weather today! We had a blast walking around, the clues were great, felt like National Treasure. Hope they make more for our city, we'd definitely do more!
My husband & I had a lot of fun with the Philadelphia escapely spy game! The difficulty level was perfect for us - the puzzles were challenging enough that it felt like an accomplishment to get through, while not being too hard to get through in a reasonable amount of time. We also had a great experience with the customer service - we were missing one of the QR codes needed because we didn’t bring the box with us on the activity, and were able to call in and promptly get the information needed so that it did not impact our ability to solve the puzzle.
This was overall a great time; however the puzzle in Lenfast Plaza was a complete bust as the “Grumman Greenhouse” Sculpture (a navy warplane) was key to solving this puzzle and had been removed from the site three years ago. The game needs to be updated!
First half was incredible, the ending was too far of a jump. A lot of walking around a concentrated part of the city to many of the parks. A cool way to integrate real world info with items from the puzzle box.
My husband and I did this together on a lovely spring afternoon on a Sunday. The walk was great. The clues were tough but fun. Admittedly we had to use some hints a couple times but between the two of us we got it. We took our time and also enjoyed the city. My only complaint is that it’s a little pricey. Also, I wish it came with a little notepad or a recommendation to bring one. I would have loved to let my son use it as well but it’s really a one time use activity. For the price, I really wish you could do it at least twice. I can see how it is easily a 1-player game but definitely more fun with at least 2 people. Anything more than 3 might be too much IMO. I am considering getting another for DC for my son and his friends for spring break.
This was so much fun! We booked this event for my friend’s birthday and we had such a good time. Usually, you think of getting together with your friends and it’s just going out to eat or getting a few drinks. But solving these puzzles while basically bar hopping completely elevated the experience. This was a really great way to spend time together and it led us to places we wouldn’t normally have checked out. We also loved that it’s all self paced so we could take our time and stop for drinks along the way.
This was the PERFECT date! Highly recommended as a unique gift/experience! We live close to Philadelphia already but never took the time to really explore and learn…which this game enabled us to do!
Had a blast using this as a team building activity! We had three new team members and this was a great way to learn each other's strengths and bond. It was a bit chilly the day we did it, so i would recommend doing this one when it is a little warmer - or dress appropiately. We certainly didn't :( Some of the clues we got fast and others left us scratching our heads. Overall, very well done!
The theme was fun, the puzzles were challenging, and my team of hardened escapers (20+ rooms) eventually needed a couple clues! Definitely recommended whether you're exploring the area for the first time, or have lived around it most of your life, like my crew has. Definitely consider stopping by Chinatown for dinner too!
We had a great time doing this escape experience in the Logan Square area of Philly! We are Philly natives, growing up right outside the city for our whole lives, and it was fun to see things I’ve never seen before. The puzzles used real world landmarks as the basis for solutions and the mixed media use of the app coupled with physical clues was so fun! Highly recommend for locals and visitors alike! We got the NYC experience too, and can’t wait to do that one!
Escapley's Philly Outdoor escape room was A TON of fun! I want to do this in every city.... I did this as a team-building activity for a brand new team. This was a great way to learn other's strengths and work collaboratively toward an end goal. This was even good for teammates who had never been to Philly. The only issue I had was ensuring I got the box on time. There seemed to be a lapse in time from purchase to connection to send my shipping information over. I think Viator might do well to clearly note steps/time frame for collecting information and sending it to Escapley. Escapley's customer service was amazing! Amber was able to get me set up with shipping quickly and everything arrived before we needed it. 100% will do this again in other cities!
I loved the game! It was so fun incorporating the real world clues combined with physical clue cards and digital clues on your phone. There were also options to use hints at each step of the outdoor escape room, which was a great addition to ensure that we had fun instead of being too stumped and getting frustrated. I’ve been recommending it to my friends in other cities! A fun date activity, but would also be fantastic with friends or for a family outing. I live in Philadelphia and love exploring, but the game took me to places I had never been in the city, which made it a great experience as well.
