if possible drive it twice. first time to make necessary turns and see where you are going. often as the guide was talking you were into what he was saying and then a turn came up and you missed the direction. would be nice if you could reverse what was said and re-hear it.
The GPS Audio tour was more than we expected. The narrator was easy to follow and interesting to listen too. We wanted the back roads and it did not disappoint. Will definitely do it again!
Very nice and informative. Enjoyed the ability to start and stop the tour. The only negative is as an older person getting started was a challenge ( electronically challenged). I would recommend this tour to everyone.
Wonderful tour. Very well well done and easy to follow. Used this tour to find some places that we would not have known about and went back and spent a little more time.
This self guided tour was perfect - we fell In love with Lititz and plan to visit again!
A good narration to learn about the Amish area. We stopped at various places along the tour and some We skipped.
This was a great way to tour the Pennsylvania Dutch Country at our own pace. Being able to pause and restart the tour in the comfort of our own vehicle made this a great option for learning more about the area. It was easy to download the tour and play through my car speakers for all to enjoy. There was a perfect mix of information about all aspects of the area including the different groups that call Lancaster County home, its history with regards to founding and commerce, and how the area has grown and changed over time.
After a few hiccups getting the technology to work correctly, we were off on the tour. The stops on the Amish country tour were fascinating with great views of Amish farmland, covered bridges, and mills. One of the best parts of the tour was the ability to stop at various locations for a long as we wished and then resume the tour. The scope of the tour was such that we were able to see Amish families going about their daily work and commerce in the villages of Lancaster County. The only suggestion for improvement that we would give would be to provide more detailed driving instructions at complex intersections where it would be easy to get off track. It was very helpful that the GPS tour included a provision to inform us when we were off track and showed a map of how to get back on track with the tour. We would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a relaxed tour of the Lancaster County countryside.
The audio guide needs some work. Could not find us on GPS and match with audio location. Did not get to finish tour because of location issues. If you compare to Gypsy not close in quality and matching location with audio
It didn’t work! The location to scan the QR code was a business location and in reaching the location, found out that the business knew nothing about this tour. The business noted that this situation has happened many times before. I feel like this is a bit of a scam.
Loved the experience, particularly the flexibility and option of moving at our own speed. But I’m local and some of the pronunciations of local towns/areas were terrible!
This was a great way to see the highlights! It took a bit of time to get started and realize how the app worked. If you get off course, you lose the GPS directions and it was difficult to read the app’s map to get back on course. We had to use the vehicle GPS to help with that. The app does not intuitively pick back up when you are back in the zone. That said, we learned cool things from the guide when we were on track! It is worth doing!
This audio tour was great. It took us on back roads we would not have seen otherwise. It was also thorough and informative. I will definitely use this company again.
We wound up buying it twice. It’s good for whenever you want to use it, but the directions on how to save it past the day you sign up for are vague. The tour itself was fabulous!
I have been to Amish Farm land many times. Finally today a guide named Greg came across the speakers in my car full of information. I found this app while scrolling through the web. Our guide was pleasant to listen to, taught us true facts, pointed out interesting areas that no one ever has, took us to places near by that I didn’t know existed. I’ll look at this countryside differently from now on!! Thank you Greg for an eye opening experience.
It is a wonderful way to visit Amish/Mennonite country at your own pace. Narrator is clear and knowledgeable.
It was a great experience. We got to see a lot of the countryside that we would not have otherwise. The talk was informational and we had the flexibility to stop wherever we wanted. I would highly recommend it.
Very good and informative Easy to follow
This GPS driving tour was exceptional. Driving through the different towns and rolling hills was breathtaking. The educational piece was amazing. We learned so much and took in incredible beauty. We also took advantage of the recommendation of touring the Julian Sturgis pretzel tour which did not disappoint. I wished we had time to stop at some of the other points of interest. Highly recommend this tour!
I grew up in Lancaster County but had not been back for 25 years. My wife and I were looking for a "touristy" thing to get into when I found the Self-Guided Driving Tour... and I thought, "what the heck?" It was a novel use of technology and a great experience that allowed us to move around and learn -- all within the comfort of and playing through the speakers of our own car. The narrative was informative and educational, and well done. Even though I grew up in Lancaster, I learned a lot about the people, the history and the area as we drove around the countryside. The prompted optional stops were also well placed (for those who want to stop in and check something out a bit closer) and the instructions were simple to use.
Great way to see sights at your own pace. Tour takes you through back roads with amazing views and provides history of area. Highly recommend
This was a great experience! That said—it would impossible to do alone…you need a driver and a NAVIGATOR. As people have said, sometimes you get “lost.” Actually, you’re not lost, you’re just not sure where you are in relation to the guide. BUT…the narration is hooked up with GPS and it can find you. We enjoyed listening to the narrator and found the information presented very informative and interesting. We liked the fact that it was easy to stop it and “do our own thing” when we found a place we wanted to explore. We felt it well done, worth the money and we highly recommend it.
We really enjoyed this tour. It was easy and less expensive than other tours. Very informative.
It was fun! A little confusing a couple times picking the trail after a stop but mostly it picked up the turns right where needed. We all learned a lot & enjoyed the stops. It could’ve been an all day adventure: we just had an afternoon & opted for the ride on the Strasburg railroad which we really liked! Can’t beat it for $15!!
Done very well. Got lost along the way but found our way back.
A very fun experience driving through the farmland of Lancaster. Would definitely do another driving tour in the future.
This is absolutely perfect for a fun adventure day!! I went with my sister (18 years old), my two sons (14 and 16), and my two daughters (2 and 1). Love that you can do it at your own pace and stop where you want to or continue on. The amount of storytelling was absolutely perfect! It was interesting enough to keep everyone engaged, (except the baby, but she just slept for most of it….. lol) which is difficult with teenagers, and it wasn’t drawn out or boring/too much at any point! We actually felt like we were connected to the guide as well, which I didn’t think would be possible. I’ve already been recommending it to everyone. In my opinion it’s a great way to experience and learn about a place without pressure. I’ve lived in Lancaster county for a while so I expected to just hear a lot of things I already knew, but I learned a bunch of fun facts and experienced places I never would have known about. So it doesn’t even matter if it’s a place you think you know. The beginning and ending points were amazing spots that we had so much fun exploring, along with several on the trip and we didn’t even stop at them all. The price point is far cheaper than any other excursion, especially with a large family, and well worth every penny! It’s not possible to find anything cheaper that will fill your day with fun, especially for a larger group. The only issue we had was when I had to venture off for a gas station because I didn’t prepare ahead of time and even then, it was pretty easy to get back on track. Definitely recommend gassing up before you start tho to avoid any panic searching for gas stations.
Very interesting tour and the GPS worked well. Great way to view the countryside and attractions along the way.
Excellent tour. Exactly what we were looking for. The narrator’s speed matched the country side and speed limit.
Great experience. The gps at times warned us that we were on the wrong route. However, we were still on track. The history and the story was s great experience.
Don't know if it was my lack of tech expertise, confusing instructions or a sketchy internet connection, but I was never able to access the tour. It didn't help that I was instructed to download the "WalknTours" app - there are 2 apps with the same name. I apparently opened the wrong one and couldn't figure out how to undo what I did. I also wasn't able to get back to the page with the contact telephone number.
It took a bit of effort to get the guide to start but once it did the experience was wonderful. We shared our experience with the owner of the place we were staying, and she then shared it with other guests at the lodging. I would highly recommend this to anyone visiting Lancaster Cty. I would bet that regardless of how often you have been to Lancaster, you don't know all the stuff Greg tells you on the tour.
Tour was well planned out and easy to follow. Great that if the speaker gets ahead of you, you can arrow back to the spot to pick it up again.
Awesome tour Great information PERFECT I recommend these tours to anyone Customer service was top notch Easy to talk with and fast at getting back to me on emails or text More tours to book with this app
Would have been good if in a car but we were in a small RV. Most of the covered bridges have height and weight restrictions. Would have been nice to know that. Also, the one bridge we were able to see was closed for bridge work. Could not get past that closer on the program. Good program though.
This was a new experience for us, but it was very convenient and fun. We learned the history of the area and enjoyed the beautiful sights of Lancaster County from our car. We had the freedom to get out and enjoy what we wanted. Highly recommended!
The best tour I've ever done and my first gps guided tour.. very informative and suggested the best stops ... 5 stars...
Very informative! The GPS coordinates were very precise
Lovely tour and knowledgeable guide. Just wish there were more quiet country roads
This was a perfect tour for a self drive. The information was interesting, the route was easy to follow, and we loved having the freedom to start and stop.
