It was OK guide. It would be nice if you could start at any point on the tour or at least have options ascto where you could start instead of having to go past some of the sites more than once when you are on foot.

Itinerary
Elfreth's Alley is named after Jeremiah Elfreth, an 18th-century blacksmith. Our tour starts here to give you a glimpse of what the city looked like during the American revolution. While much of Philadelphia has changed, this alleyway has remained the same, and today it’s designated a National Historic Landmark. From this spot you'll press start tour and put your phone in your pocket. From there our WalknTours patented technology will guide you through the streets. If you feel you are off track just check the arrow in the WalknTours app and it will point you in the direction of the next stop.
We will stop outside the Betsy Ross house and hear the story of how Betsy Ross met with George Washington and designed the American flag. It's pretty amazing! And the music is great.
We will stop at Benjamin Franklin's grave and discover his story of how he played a pivotal role in the revolution partnering with French. This guy was electric!
We will stop outside of the Synagogue known as the "Synagogue of the Revolution" and learn the story of Haym Solomon, the financier of the Revolution. Fun story, and great music!
The first president's house! This is where George Washington lived. George Washington had many nicknames, one of those was "Town Killer", I bet you won't learn that on the other tours! Learn the secrets of the rebels on our tour, the Rebels of the Revolution on WalknTours.
This bell has been around a long time. During the Revolution it was hid in Allentown. And it became a symbol of liberty AFTER the revolution. See the bell, for free!
Its name Independence Hall came from the French general the Marquis de Lafayette. When he visited the state house he called it the “Hall of Independence.” This was the house of the rebels, In its halls the founding fathers debated and adopted the declaration of independence and the United States constitution. If you want to go in you'll have to book a ticket. Our tour only goes outside.
The statue in the center is the signer statue and recognizes the spirit and the risks the rebels of the American colonies took when they signed the declaration of independence. The statue is of George Clymer, a local merchant and politician. There are many rebels you'll learn about on this tour! And they are epppiiiicccc!
Carpenters’ hall was built for and still owned by the Carpenters company of Philadelphia, the country’s oldest craft guild. And it’s known as the “Birthplace of Liberty” And it's free! We will stop here and hear the story of when the Rebels met here and boycotted the British. And Quebec almost became one of the original colonies! Amazing! Crazy! You won't learn that on other tours. Learn more here!
Alexander Hamilton! The First Bank of the United States was the cornerstone of Hamilton's fiscal policy operating from 1791 to 1811. It was Hamilton’s idea that a national bank was vital to stabilize and improve the nation's credit, and to improve handling of the financial business of the government under the newly enacted Constitution. See Hamilton's old stomping grounds and learn his story on our tour!
See where Hamilton once lived! And of interesting note, it was in this house that the scandalous affair with Maria Reynolds occurred, that ended his career.
This is the spot the founding fathers feasted. And where this rebel tour end.

Download was relatively easy. Experience depends on you carrying your phone to share with kids. That got tedious. The recording tended to rewind and restart at intervals when paused. Not a good way to skip ahead if you're running out of time. The British accent was too much. Some parts were too much information and some not enough. We eventually gave up.
Only one confusing/wrong direction given (after Presidents’ house - gave bad directions to next stop). And I regretted paying for 4 tickets when we were all able to listen well with my son’s ticket via Bluetooth speaker! But audio was clear, in enjoyable British accent & very educational & interesting.
Lots of information, very good value for the price. Easy to download and use.
Couldn't do the tour because I couldn't find out how to. Neither Viator or WalkingTours provide clear simple instructions. Sat at Elfreths Alley trying to start. I found a phone number to call for help. No one answered.
Self guided tour was great. Information was accurate and directions got us to where we needed to go.
Very affordable and informative! Audio directions were easy to follow. You can pause at any point to give yourself time to explore. Perfect for a last minute activity for us after being stranded by a cancelled flight!
Lived this! The freedom to pause and explore is always a plus for me!
Such an interesting, historic city. We saw as many things as time allowed and loved everything about it. Just thinking about walking in the same place as our founding fathers makes it even more special!
It was easy to download to the phone. My daughter didn't have internet so she couldn't download -so that her purchase was not necessary. I should have known that. I couldn't pause the audio. My 2 friends decided they didn't want to listen and just wanted me to tell them about the sights after I listened to the audio. Lazy. I'm shaking my head just typing that.
I enjoyed the flexibility of a solo walking tour. However, the guided group tours offered more information. I think this app should offer more stories and more depth. I’d pay more for a deeper experience.
This was a great way to gain an overview of the historic sites at our own pace. We walked on a chilly day with 2 kids under 10 and they were more engaged with the narrative than I expected they would be. We would definitely recommend this for other families with kids who are good walkers.
We like the fact that it’s self-guided and we can go at our pace and schedule. I find the audio speed is a bit too fast, the information given at the Washington’s presidential residence is too brief. Compared to the excellent Rick Steves’s European city audio tours, there’s some catch up to do.
The tour was very good. Took about 2.5 hours. Took us a while to find parking, that was the only downside.
We loved this tour! Loved the ability to pause when we wanted to go inside certain spots, like the Betsy Ross house, The Liberty Bell, and Independence Hall. I definitely prefer this to large group tours. Would highly recommended
The self-guided tour was uneven at best, with kitschy sound effects, inappropriate banter and loose interpretations of history, especially regarding Benjamin Franklin’s remit to France. The app was also a mess, with unclear navigation and outdated graphics. We should have spent the money on a guided tour instead of this awkward mishmash. Not recommended.
I liked the fact that I could go at my own pace. Unless you have airbuds, you can’t listen to the commentary on each landmark. It would be good if you could buy them at various places like Ross’s house. Buy them when you buy your ticket.
Definitely worth it! Made it easy to go at our own pace. Learned a lot and very helpful to make sure we saw everything we wanted to see! Most interesting area was the old city and the homes there that we might otherwise have missed! Also, because many things were closed due to shutdown we were still able to hear about them. Thank you for a great tour. Great price!
Unfortunately there was a protest this weekend that completely blocked the historical district. I was unable to view over half of the sites because the area was blocked off. Be sure to check downtown activities before purchasing the tour. Very disappointing.
The walking directions were not great and I spent a lot of time looking at the map. Google maps to much better for walking directions. The site descriptions were hard to hear in the city
Beautiful day. Easy to follow prompts. A perfect way to explore with a limited time in Philadelphia. I would highly recommend.
Easy to use and pause when needed. The only thing I would like to see added is the oldest Christ Church where Washington, Franklin, and Ross attended.
My 17 year old and I enjoyed listening at our own pace on our own devices. The pictures to match and the map helped. The pause and app lock were also great features.
Love the information, the directions for walking, the narrative while you walked- loved it! I love informational Tours but don’t always enjoy being in a big group trying to hear what the guide says, I also like the flexibility to start and stop when I choose. Greg and his customer service made the I ital set up super easy! Great deal!
Highly Recommend ! You can go at your own pace and pause when necessary. It rained on the day we were scheduled but since it does not expire we went the following day. That's another great benefit. I texted multiple questions and got a friendly personal answer to all. Great information and well done.
Wonderful. Easy to customize to your own liking. Party way through I discovered the reading market and China town and explored there, then returned right back to the tour. Loved the freedom and the app worked well. Great stories. Very enjoyable
User friendly. Owner responded immediately and helpfully when we had a question. We liked being able to move at our own pace. Suggest bringing airpods and starting early in the day to purchase tickets to some of the sites.
We were able to enjoy the tour and information at our own pace, Te information was interesting and easy to follow - perfect
Tough to do ion your own, walking, listening, looking at same time and British English was tough to understand for me. Overall good though and nice to do at own pace
Fantastic way to see the city and learn the history. Easy to use app, can pause and explore further anywhere along the way and the directions are simple and clear
This tour is top notch. It is informative, entertaining and very easy to use. The narrator was easy to understand. I highly recommend it.
My husband and I had a blast on this tour! We were able to pause and research other interests that were peeked, as well as go off on rabbit trails if we saw a place we wanted to visit. There is a really neat flag store across from Betsy Ross that is definitely worth checking out. I will search for these tours in every other city we visit.
Absolute must. Fantastic experience. This was a most moving experience which made me proud to have taken out American citizenship
The walking tour was amazing. Loved the historical information provided and the directions were very easy to follow! Highly recommend!
The walking tour was amazing! I went on my own, found everything very easily and loved the stories and facts! This way of sightseeing lets you walk your own pace, make as many or few stops as you want and you can listen to the audio several times. I only had a day in Philadelphia and the tour brought me to all the right places! Thank you, Greg!
Loved this tour. Tour owner was very responsive to our texts & tour guide (Dr. Arnold) was awesome. He had a deep understanding of history, answered all our questions, & was very entertaining. Plus he brought these awesome pretzels for the walk. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a great historic tour of the area around Independence Hall.
Easy to figure out. Tour guide was great and approachable, but some of the main stops weren't in the tour. Also, most of the tour info was things we already knew. I was going for some interesting and obscure facts, but they were brief descriptions of the sites and my children lost interest. I did like that we could go at our own pace and stop along the way, but I didn't necessarily feel that we profited much from the tour. Fortunately, it was very reasonable, so I was fine with the amount we spent on it.
Loved that I could take the tour at my own pace. The tour guide spoke clearly and made the narrative interesting.
