Pleasant ride with decent commentary. Unfortunately, we got on at Reading Market, which was not stop one. Once we got to what WAS stop 1, we were made to get off in a place far from where we needed to be. That was rather inconvenient, having thought we would get the entire loop regardless of where we got on.

Reviews
The employees were friendly and knowledgeable, but the service itself could be improved. They only had one bus running during a rain storm which resulted in long waits in the rain . We couldn’t board the bus at all stops, so we had to walk a mile and a half to redeem our voucher in the rain
Staff was really friendly, professional and informative. Worth the time especially when your time is limited. Only negative I can say it was 30 min. Between buses so plan accordingly
Fantastic communications from the company both prior and during visit. Guides were very knowledgeable and provided new historic details The ease of on and off was fantastic.
Excellent tour guide, knowledgeable, funny and very personable. Highly recommend visiting Philadelphia and seeing the historic highlights by utilizing the hop on , hop off bus tour.
I would recommend the two-day pass; it is a great value! Use the first day for an overview and seeing some of the sights - I believe there were 26 stops. Use the second day to catchup or simply getting around the city.
Our guide Bill was very informative and even funny. There were 26 total potential stops. You can stay on or get off where you want.
Great experience and a fun tour guide. I enjoyed the scenery and the staff was super friendly. Very helpful to me.
My family of three (parents and 17 yo) booked the hop-on, hop-off as we only had one day in Philly and we wanted to get an overall sense of the city, and see a few key things. This was exactly that. Guide and driver were phenomenal. Our only issue was being able to hear the guide at the back with the engine roaring. We had to move up when seats were available. Highly recommend.
Shocking service Never used our pass bus never arrived No refund Very hard to contact No one responded to messages
Great intro to the city ( if you haven’t been there before). Nice combination of history and folklore.
They canceled last minute and didn’t even notify me. Me and my family were standing outside waiting until I called
advertised as hop on any stop but then must exit at specific stop to get prepaid online ticket validated. time tables differed between website and printed map. lost over an hour waiting for a bus that didn't arrive as scheduled.
The historical tour was good but had a hard time finding where to start and how to show tickets on phone. Also since I use a cane I could not go to second floor of Betsy Ross House or First Congress Hall. My son was disappointed not to be able to see Independence Hall as we didn't know about coming earlier in morning. Was glad to see Liberty Bell. The talk on the bus was especially good. I would not advise anyone handicapped or using a cane to try this tour.
Nick was an excellent guide in Philadelphia. He was engaging, friendly, and fun ~ and he must be the best tour guide in Philly!
Although narration was good we couldn’t hear much of it sitting in the top. Also the bus tour felt very rushed and not stopping at may places though we asked for it early on. Not worth it for us.
As a newbie to travelling to Philadelphia I thought the best way to see the city was to use sightseeing bus, my ticket was purchased for $39.00. For that you can either do hop on hop off and then wait 20-30 minutes for the next bus to arrive or what I did was staying on the bus to do the whole tour. Then do another tour after getting something to eat and then getting off the spots I was interested in visiting & keeping myself busy for 20-30 minutes until the next bus arrived. I found new food spots to try out at a later date of my trip to Philly. From doing this trip I was able navigate around Philly independently using the public transport. Excellent service.
It was fun. It took all day. The reason it gets three stars in my book is the Driver said that They were gonna wait 20 to 25 minutes and then take off but that is not true. You get off the bus and they leave and another bus comes in 20 or 25 minutes. We got off the bus to use the bathroom at the Betsy Ross house and the driver said he was gonna wait 10 minutes. We came back in 3 minutes and he was gone. We had to catch the other bus, which was a little late, but we didn’t mind.
You canceled the tour on us due to a parade in downtown Philadelphia.🤨. I would like a full refund.
Do not do not buy tickets for this tour. We got off the first stop and three buses have gone by all full and we cannot get back on all the buses are full when they come to this . We spent $160 for the four of us and we’ve been stranded at one of the stops for half an hour. We will not get our moneys worth on this tour as we are stuck in one spot. I can’t find a phone number to contact anyone about our chances of getting on. We were also very disappointed in our tour guide. There are no headsets for the English tour, which would be so helpful for the hearing challenged
It was very informative and fun. Also great way to get around without having to drive and look for parking.
Good sightseeing of the important places in Phila, with commentary by the guides. Flexible way to stop at favorite places for a short visit.
We purchased the two day package as we planned to orientate ourselves on the initial trip and then return to those spots we wished to see in more depth. It was a considerable walk from our hotel to the first place we could pick up the bus and we waited for quite a long time before the bus came. We managed to cover some of the must see sights on the first day but found that the buses had long time gaps between them and meant we spent a lot of time waiting . We also were not informed that the two bus companies had amalgamated and that we could have travelled on either with the same ticket. The second day was not able to be used to the full due to a police funeral which caused significant street closures in the areas we wished to visit. This was not the fault of the company but it did mean that we really wasted the second day of our ticket and were only able to use the bus for one stop. We have used these tourist buses in many other cities and felt that this one was not quite as good as others due to the considerable wait times for the next bus. The guides on the buses we did access, were very personable and quite entertaining.
Great way to discover the sights of Philly and/or cover the distances from one place to another. Tour guide was entertaining and pointed out many interesting facts.
All over and seen them all with one of the best curators in Philadelphia, Ms Ruth who told us great stories experiences events and social histories of every points of the tour. She’s marvelous and have great sense of humor We love ❤️ this Tour ! What’s an experience !!
Hop on Hop off is always great and Philadelphia was no exception. All employees were friendly. The bus made all the great stops. The guide gave us great information about each stop and many sights in between.
The tour guides humor and history knowledge was great! It was a fun for the kids and for adults alike.
Driver of bus #106 plate BA78795 wrapped corner of Market & 12th when I had the right-of-way walk signal, could have killed me.
Great time in PA!! I will recommend anyone to PA.. Enjoy!! Why do I have to write more. I have very little words to say
Most of the places on the tour were closed. Check when the things on their list is open before you book your day.
Our tour guide was nice, knowledgeable and had the best bad jokes ever. We got off at stop one and had ample time to explore Liberty Hall.
It was a perfect weather day for riding on the top deck. We had three very knowledgeable tour guides and enjoyed every minute of it!
It was a really nice time! We got off on the stops we wanted to and back on when we could. It's really nice that the hop on/hop off bus companies combine so you can use City SightSeeing buses or Big Bus buses. It make things very easy, and we didn't have to wait long at most stops. We got off to explore the Reading Terminal Market, which is a must if you want to experience all sorts of foods. We also got off at the Eastern State Penitentiary, which was totally worth the price to see everything. This stop was longer than 20 minutes to wait for the next bus and there is no seats for you to relax, so we sat on the ground while we waited. They currently have some areas under construction, which they don't tell you about, so we were unable to get off on a stop that we could have and instead had to walk the 8 blocks to the Firehouse Museum in the heat. I don't recommend that, so make sure you ask if there are any stops that are unavailable when you board so you can plan your day better. Don't assume they're going to be proactive and tell you.
Waited at stop 17 for over 40 minutes after your driver Sequaon ldeliberately lied when she said xhe was full and there was a bus "right behind me". After 40 minutes I walked to stop 8 to get a bus in the other direction. 40 minutes. I got on a bus with her in the afternoon and her guide asked for money with a prearranged speel at every other stop. Every other stop. He kept asking for dead presidents but only wanted Ben Franklin's to feed Sequaons children. His words. All in all a diabolical product.
We started out on a Big Bus which was really nice. The gentleman was very informative. Then we got off and we’re told we could get on either the Big Bus or Hop on Hop off. The hop on hop off guide was not informative at all. We didn’t get to see several things because of construction. Very disappointed.
Seeing the highlights of beautiful Philadelphia in an hour with option to hop off. The tour narrator was very funny also.
The red double decker bus was great with Matt as our guide and Sherry? As the driver. He was fun and informative. We got on the BigBus next to go to the Eastern Pen and it was bad. The driver was terrible. It was like he sped past everything that was a photo op. I would recommend the red double decker.
There a lot of tour groups to check in. Our hop on off was excellent informative educational and historical Our historian guide Richard was again excellent
One of the tour guides was very animated and made the trip enjoyable. Despite the heat of summer, the roof top bus ride was nice due to the breeze when the bus is moving. Need to bring something to sit on so it will not be so hot when you sit.
Fantastic views and historical perspectives of the great city of Philadelphia were provided by careful drivers and expert tour guides!
The bus did not come every 20 minutes (or ever) as promised. We eventually called the number on the map and had a shuttle come pick us up. The driver of the shuttle was rude, and took us back to the beginning where we had to them wait in line again. We just drove around in our car and paid parking. This was a waste. I do not recommend spending the money!!!
Philadelphia has such a rich history. While we don’t need excruciating detail… the commentary was (2 different experiences) slope and weak on telling relevant stories … in fact the tone was in one case- really undesirable. Also/ in being told we could get different buses- it meant we missed some of the tour we paid for. So. It was Ok but I would not recommend. Philly, surely we can do better than this
I have never in my life had worse customer service. We apparently bought tickets through the “worldwide” city-sightseeing and the Philadelphia location wouldn’t honor them. Our tickets stated we could start at any stop, we sat at a stop for over 30 minutes and watched as the tour bus drove right past us sitting under their bus sign with three kids in tow. Upon calling the customer service (a lovely lady named Lisa who chose to hang up on us 4 times when we asked to speak with her supervisor) they cancelled our ticket and refused to refund the payment. Avoid at all costs.
I grew up in Philly and decided to take my kid on his first trip. This was the perfect addition to our short weekend fun. Tour hits all the hot spots. You have the ability to get off at various stops as you please. When you do get off you don't have to wait forever until the next bus comes. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. It was hot so bring water! First leg of our tour, our guide was an Asian (I believe Chinese) young lady who was hilarious! I wish I would have remembered her name so I could give feedback to the company. The last leg of our trip we had this African America driver who was so engaging and made us enjoy our time riding on the bottom deck. Overall I would highly recommend this tour. I will definitely do it again when we go back.
This was the second time that I rode this bus tour to explore Philadelphia. The guides were informative too. There’s so much history and sights to see in Philadelphia.
I loved the experience. I appreciated , even in the midst of a bus going down, they tried to accommodate persons as best as possibly to eliminate some wait time. There was dog poop, that someone stepped in and they warned us. Eventually at one stop they were able to get it cleaned , so the rest of the way , it was not an issue. Thanks for allowing me to enjoy my visit to Philadelphia.
Total waste of time and money!!! The buses are supposed to pass the different stops every 20 minutes. We waited for nearly an hour and never saw one bus! There were quite a few others waiting too. The concern was that when a bus finally got there, we wouldn’t have all been able to get on it. We gave up and called an Uber to get us to the next stop. Once ready to move on, we waited for almost 45 minutes at that stop and again never saw a bus. We called another Uber and gave up on the whole “hop on/hop off”. We learned our lesson..the expensive way…and will never do that again!
The staff were generally OK. I first was on with John who was friendly and informative. I hopped off to get something to eat at Reading Terminal. The next guide however was utterly terrible. He admitted he was making up "facts" as he went along. You could tell he was so bored with his routine that he was just making stuff up to keep himself entertained. I hopped off, and managed to get back on John's bus to take me to the end.
Philly is such an interesting and historic city and Bruce was a great guide and pointed out all the important spots and buildings along the way. Besides being informative he was also humorous and helpful. Would highly recommend.
The Hop on Hop off bus was fun on the first go around, when we took the 2nd bus, it had no air condition and it was extremely hot. The tour was very interesting and enjoyable though.
