Rick was informative, friendly and easy to follow! We enjoyed the depth of his historic facts. My out of town guest from Nevada was extremely impressed. Thank you!

Very informative. The walking pace is great many stops to learn fun facts. There is a bathroom break and a place to buy a bottle of water for $1.00.
My group is new to Old City. We traveled into the city and had a bathroom emergency that delayed us but we were never able to connect with our group. We tried several other groups and never got to the correct one. The leader stopped texting with us and all we needed was just 3 more minutes to connect. I do understand it is a scheduled tour and time is money, but there just wasn't any effort made by the guide to help us out. We are very, very disappointed and will be trying to receive a refund.
Tom was a fantastic tour guide! Great energy and made the tour interesting and not boring!!! Really enjoyed the tour!
Well worth our time and money. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable. Learned some interesting history, the Liberty Bell cracked twice, and it has an unpleasant tone.
We were disappointed with our historic walking tour. The guide took many digs at the current administration, which felt unnecessary and detracted from the experience. We wish she had been more impartial and focused on Philadelphia’s rich history rather than her personal political views.
Alex was super knowledgeable about the city and all the sites we stopped at. He answered every question that was brought up. At the last stop there was a person in a costume that tried to interrupt the tour, and Alex did a great job pushing through and focusing on the tour and the historic events.
Seriously the best tour we have ever had. Tom was so full of knowledge about Philadelphia and history. Really impressed that he included our kids in all of the questions and discussions. Would highly recommend!!
Very personable and interesting tour with a knowledgeable guide. Small group and fascinating history.
Very informative.Nice walk around city blocks. Jonathon tour guide will make everyone feel same and enjoyable.
The tour was disappointing. We only saw a few historical places—- (Benjamin Franklin’s gravesite and Betsy Ross’s home were NOT included.) Carla began our tour 10 minutes late, waiting on stragglers that never showed. She also ended the tour 10 min early.
Guide was quite good. But there wasn't really a lot covered. If you can read a map just go to the visitor center and you will get more and better information about the sights.
We enjoyed our tour with Carla. She had lots of great information and was very accommodating to our five year old (offering him a children’s book that she had made to look through) when he was bored at times. We would highly recommend the tour and especially Carla.
A total waste of money . The guide sent a link thru Google Maps . I could not access this so I was given an address via a text . Not a problem . However when my GPS took me to another location by the time I figured it all out , my granddaughter and I were beyond frustrated . Never again will I use Viator.
Even without entry into all the sites we visited, our guide gave us so much information it was a great experience.
Caroline was great! Very informative and entertaining.
Very fun and very informational experience. Caroline was very sweet and easy to talk to. She was a wealth of information and her recommendation to try Campos Cheesesteaks was greatly appreciated!
Pat was our tour guide and she was very friendly, punctual, and knowledgeable. Was a nice tour of the old city and definitely a perfect 90 mins walking tour. Group was about 10-15 people and a good size for a tour. Pat was engaging and answered questions throughout the tour.
Very informative and interesting. Caroline was great. The amount of walking was minimal and easy to navigate.
Tour guide was very knowledgeable. The 90 minute tour was very appropriate as a “sampler platter” of the old part of the City. Would definitely recommend if you’re not sure what to do in Philly as far as old town is concerned.
This is a great way to learn about the history of the tiown. Our guide was great and I liked the ability to ask questions.
My tour guide, PJ, was great. Calm, good story teller, and very knowledgeable. I learned a lot and enjoyed the information and story of Philly!
The 90 minute tour is a great way to introduce yourself to Philadelphia. The guide, John, was very nice and incredibly knowledgeable on the history of the city. I believe a longer tour is available for an even more in depth look into Philadelphia and it's role in the American revolution.
Walk was just right for us, not to fast or to slow. Great way to cover highlights so you can return for a deeper dive. Guide PJ was knowledgeable. Loved that I learned new information especially about founding of Pennsylvania. As someone from another state helped knowing why so much religious freedom here even from the start.
The historic walking tour with John Donato was superb. I was struck with how much John knows about not only the history of the area, but also the less known tales of the people involved. His introduction of Quakerism and its impact on the developing democratic principles was fascinating. I would highly recommend this tour and this guide for forming a basis of understanding our democratic system.
PJ was clearly very knowledgeable about Philadelphia and American history, and there was a lot of information included in the tour. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t quite live up to what we were hoping for. After taking a Big Bus tour the night before and a food tour earlier in the day, we were really looking forward to learning even more about Philadelphia’s fascinating history. We expected a walking tour that combined the history with stories and anecdotes that would bring the people, events, and places to life. Instead, much of the tour felt more like a detailed history lesson. The beginning in particular moved quite slowly, with a lot of time spent going into great detail on certain topics. At times, we also felt there could have been more attention to the group and the sights themselves. For example, when we reached the Liberty Bell, we were standing right next to it, but there wasn’t any suggestion to walk over and take a closer look or snap a photo. We decided to do that on our own and then found ourselves hurrying to catch up because the tour had already moved on. There were several other times when PJ walked quite far ahead of the group rather than engaging with us as we walked. Despite the slower pacing and lengthy explanations earlier in the tour, it ultimately ran about 20 minutes past the scheduled ending time, which left us rushing to make our dinner reservation. We felt that with slightly tighter pacing throughout, the tour could easily have finished on time without sacrificing the history or information. PJ certainly knows his history, and we can understand why travelers looking for a very detailed, history-focused tour would enjoy his style. For us, though, Philadelphia has so many fascinating stories, and we walked away disappointed that the tour didn’t bring the city’s history to life in the more engaging, story-driven way we had expected. One other thing that would have been helpful was clearer information about where the tour would end. The starting location was very clear, but we didn’t realize the tour would finish about a 15-minute walk from where it began. Most walking tours we’ve taken have ended at or fairly close to the starting point, so knowing the ending location in advance would have been helpful for planning what we were doing afterward.
This is an excellent 90 minute overview of the historic sites in Old City. Nina, our tour guide, was fantastic; a native who clearly loves her city and is passionate about sharing its past. We learned a lot and enjoyed an easy paced walk. If you have more time, the longer tour would be worth your time.
Walked past Independence Hall, Liberty Bell, Jewish Museum, Betsy Ross home. It was informative. Guide shared interesting history
We had the best experience ever. Ms Nina was very knowledgeable, engaging and paid special attention to our three young children.
PJ is very knowledgeable on intricate details of the Revolution. We really enjoyed the tour. Would highly recommend PJ.
Great history lesson. We covered the major historic hotspots! We saw other people taking the tour on bikes, electric cars, and buses. We loved that we were walking.
PJ was hard to hear. Talked softly We only went to 3 places. There was more standing than there was walking. 1. Singer Park 2. Liberty Bell 3. Independence Hall We hoped to see more than this. Overall Disappointing
This was a very informative tour. Carla was a great tour guide! I enjoyed so much I’ll be booking again in a few months and bringing my Neice along too.
The 90 walking tour with our guide Marty was outstanding. The tour provided a lot of details about each historical site. I highly recommend the tour for anyone visiting Philadelphia.
John was our tour guide and was excellent. Very knowledgeable and tailored the tour for all age groups.
Historic walking tour was not as described on the online booking site. Tour described included passing by Betsy Ross house and down Elfreth’s Alley however the guide could not cover these 2 stops due to lack of time. Disappointing! Too much detail provided on other Philly sites that were not part of the actual tour.
Carla was an excellent guide! She was so knowledgeable about every place we walked by and tailored the tour based on our requests. She was incredibly patient and engaging with my inquisitive 11-year old. An excellent way to start our trip!
Centrally located-steps away from the Liberty Bell 🔔 & other historic sites..
Caroline gave us an outstanding tour of Olde Town Philadelphia! We learned so much! We really appreciated that an evening time with as offered since we’re just here me afternoon/evening. We’ll definitely come back and spend more time.
Guide was great very knowledgeable. Just felt like the pacing was too slow. I only saw 4 things in an hour and a half
Rick was fantastic! Our family learned much more about the history of our Founding than we ever imagined we would in 90 minutes. We are grateful for the opportunity and dedication to of Rick in helping to educate Americans about our history.
PJ was a surprise. Did not expect a local British to teach me about US history. Nonetheless, he has a wealth of knowledge and did not rush us thru the tour. He is funny, intelligent and amicable. Would tour with him again.
Enjoyable and Informative! All of the stops were of historical interest. Our guide Tom was very knowledgeable and pleasant.
Can't say anything negative. Had issues with scheduling on trip company and guide extremely helpful.
Caroline was a personable and knowledgeable guide. She framed each stop appropriately with just enough context so as to not overwhelm with too much detail. Also provided excellent food and craft beer suggestions at conclusion of tour.
Our tour guide Pat was incredible. She knew her stuff and did a wonderful job explaining things to my 10 year old granddaughter.
Excellent tour and tour guide. The only downside was the communication from Trip Advisor. We had to really dig to find the meeting place for the tour. We believe that the meeting place should be prominently shown in the confirmation email/text.
A delayed review now, but I had a great time overall on my walking tour around Independence park and the old city! Even though it did get to 101 degrees that July 4th eve, we were able to find shade several times. The host Rick was very knowledgeable and informative of the great history there 250 years ago! I knew many facts already, but certainly discovered new ones.
John really went out if his way to make Philadelphia history interesting. Very knowledgeable
Really enjoyed visiting amd learning interesting things from John Donato. Grwat person for the guide
