Easily the worst Ritz Carlton I've ever stayed at. Upon arrival, the valet and doormen just watched me while I struggled with my luggage while exiting the Uber. They said "hey" as I breezed past them, and they didn't even open the door, lol. Check in was fine. I specifically asked about in-room dining. All the clerk told me that in-room dining was 24/7. Finding the elevators is confusing. There is no signage. No assistance was offered with my luggage and there are stairs you must go down to get to the elevator, or take a long ramp that is equally as difficult to find. In the room, there was no obvious signage or indication of an in-room dining menu. Usually there is a menu in the room or a QR code. I tried to simply call room service using the phone, and it rang and rang for about two minutes before I gave up. Tried to ring down to the front desk. Another two minutes of ringing and I give up. It's only 8PM at this point, so I'm not sure why they are so understaffed and can't answer on the first few rings. I used my personal cell phone to call the hotel from an outside line, and lo and behold; they answered within a few rings. It was the same guy that checked me in. He then informed me that I could scan the microscopic QR code on my key envelope to access "hotel information" then "scroll down to in room dining" and I can order on the app. At that point, I had no faith in this hotel any longer. The challenge of getting anyone on the phone made me think it would take forever to get my food. So I went out and ordered food to go from Capitol Grille. The pillows were flat and weak, and the hot water in both the sink and the shower was so extreme, I sustained some minor burns.

I feel compelled to post a review of the Ritz Philadelphia where I stayed last week. First, my criticism is ONLY related to the condition of the hotel and the food; the staff were absolutely fantastic and accommodating. I’ve stayed at this property many times over the years and unfortunately it has really aged and gone down hill. It is in dire need of a renovation, especially the rooms. I’m posting photos from my room for folks to judge for themselves. I really love this hotel but it is not up to Ritz standards these days not to mention their competitors in the luxury category. Closet is in the bathroom? Old brown drapes? And that college dorm mini fridge on the floor? Really Ritz? Not pictured is the severe water damage in the lobby to their wood floor. Finally, I had a Caesar salad at the bar that was not good - chicken tough and singed, small proportion. Unfortunately I’ll not be returning any time soon.
I had an exceptional stay at The Ritz-Carlton, Philadelphia. The hotel has a beautiful, sophisticated atmosphere, and the level of service throughout the property was excellent. The staff were friendly, professional, and attentive without being intrusive, which made the entire experience feel very comfortable and relaxing. The location is also a major advantage, with convenient access to many of Philadelphia’s attractions, restaurants, and downtown areas. The room was comfortable, clean, and well maintained, and the overall property had the polished feel you would expect from a Ritz-Carlton. What impressed me most was the combination of the excellent service, comfortable accommodations, and elegant atmosphere. Everything felt well organized and thoughtfully handled. This was a memorable stay, and I would definitely return the next time I’m in Philadelphia.
Absolutely, stunning historical building, the view from our room is incredible. The staff and team have been wonderful, they’ve gone above and beyond to help me plan a big group here, Tom is a hero. This is a definite place we will come back to.
I stayed at The Ritz-Carlton, Philadelphia for four days on a business trip, and despite my work commitments, I made every effort to enjoy the hotel’s amenities whenever I could. The experience exceeded my expectations. The highlight of my stay was undoubtedly the spa. I treated myself to both a massage and a facial, and the experience was exceptional. The sauna left me feeling completely relaxed, and combined with the facial, my skin looked refreshed, healthy, and radiant for the remainder of my trip. The hotel itself is breathtaking. The historic architecture gives the property a sense of grandeur and timeless elegance that is increasingly rare to find. Thanks to my Marriott Gold status, I was fortunate to receive a room upgrade, which made the stay feel even more special. The room was beautifully appointed, but the standout feature was the bathroom. The combination of a stunning soaking tub and a separate rainfall shower created a true sanctuary after long workdays. Had I not been traveling for business, I could have easily spent entire days enjoying the hotel. In fact, on two of the four evenings, I chose to stay in and have dinner on the property rather than explore the city, and I was not disappointed. The dining experience matched the high standards set by every other aspect of the hotel. The Ritz-Carlton, Philadelphia offers a wonderful blend of historic charm, comfort, and impeccable hospitality. I would happily return and look forward to staying again in the future.
