One of the reasons we came here for and it was more than worth it. We had a stunning day along the seven lakes with amazing views that took our breath away. Do not hesitate, do it

Itinerary
Once aboard your comfortable minivan, set off into the foothills of the Andes, as your guide enlightens you with bits of history and insight about the surroundings. You'll trace the rim of Lago Lácar (Lácar Lake) for 2.5 miles (4 km), then venture into an ancient oak and cypress forest, where much of your journey continues.
Stop at Correntoso Lake’s scenic shores for snacks such as fried cakes, queso casero (cheese) or ham (own expense), made by the Mapuche community of Quintupurai.
Continue to Small Mirror Lake (Lago Espejo Chico) and Bodega Ruca Malen, passing bridges, an old inn and tranquil rivers, and see views that extend as far as Chile from the Espejo Grande viewpoint.
After 6.2 miles (10 km), you will arrive at Villa La Angostura, a village with a shopping center, a historical diplomatic residence called El Mesidor and the Bahia Manzano hotel. Enjoy a leisurely meal at one of the exceptional restaurants in the village (own expense) before heading back to your hotel in San Martin de los Andes.

We saw some nice views and places! The lunch was in a city centre, not really what we expected. We saw all of the nice 7 lakes and some more places. The guide was talking al day but did not speak english so we did not understand a word of that.
The road to San Martin de los Andes is beautiful and worth knowing, the only disadvantage is that I take a tour that many passengers gather in a very large bus, so the trip slows down and there is very little time to know villa La angostura and San Martin de los Andes (20 min in La angostura and 2 hs in S. Martin with lunch included) Either way, it's worth knowing.
We took an excursion from the tourist group Bioceanica Turismo Bariloche. Francis drove and Sergio told us stories, characteristics and everything about the areas we were visiting, with a lot of humor. The places were beautiful despite the rain. The lakes are stunning. It's worth it.
Beautiful all the lakes. The road is 112 km to San Martin de los Andes. Halfway there is the signage to go to villa Traful if one wishes. The path is not optimal. No GPS or wifi at villa Traful. The lakes are all different with stunning natural beauties and views for very good photos.. I recommend driving.
Muy buena y aconsejable para hacer , no solo te maravillas con la naturaleza sino que aprendes historia, el guia Eduardo un capo
This path that I have done several times in the course of my life continues to have the beauty of the combination of lakes, mountains, waterfalls and lush natural forest with viewpoints in its path and trails to go down to the lakes with a tarmac path in good condition. I recommend it without a doubt
Unique experience! would go that way a thousand times more! After seeing all the options we decided to rent a car and do it on our own (below I leave the costs) and the truth was the most! we picked up the car at 10 am and started the tour to Villa la angostura, an unexplained landscape, we stopped at each of the lakes, the view is unique, the landscapes are so wonderful that you are marked. When we arrived at Villa la Angostura we followed the Gps until we almost reached a lake or port, I don’t remember well, and there we didn’t run into a restaurant that is on a high (SAMSARA) staffed by its owners, we were greeted by a beautiful and very playful dog, I can’t explain how well we ate and the attention is first, they took our order and within minutes they brought us a homemade bread with seeds and spectacular sauces. Really recommended! Returning to the experience of the tour I recommend (whenever the weather permits) to do this road by car, as it allows you to manage the times in another way than on an excursion, you stop where you want for as long as you want, we encourage and we will never regret doing it. I leave you the prices approx car rental.. We rent in Hertz that is located in the center of San Martin de los Andes, a day with total insurance and snow chains (we did not have to use them) $63700, about $s53 approx. and something important to keep in mind is that to remove the vehicle you are asked for a credit card guarantee (cannot be a debit card) of $600000 (u$S500) that later refund you to the days (it takes 2 to 6 business days to refund the money)
It is the best excursion, a conjunction of the landscape, the guide Juan Carlos, and the group of people, who did not know each other, and it was a nice group that we continue to stay in contact with. UNFORGETTABLE INCREDIBLE BEAUTIFUL AND MAGICAL
Only 1 word UNMISSABLE!!!, do it carefully, without rushing, being cautious at the points to go down and take the beautiful photo, ENJOY!!!!
It is a wonderful course, we were surprised by a snowfall, it is convenient to suspend the course if you are not prepared. We stayed overnight in the gendarmerie parking lot as they closed the roads. Always bring water and some food. Anyway it was an unforgettable experience, snowy landscapes of dreams. Unmissable!!!!
Circulation should be very careful given the poor condition of the route with wells that can spoil a pleasant stay.
It is one of the most beautiful walks to do in our Patagonia and in the World! There are 7 different lakes on a journey of about 100 km mountain route. Unmissable
The incredible landscapes, the route very unsignposted, very dangerous by loose animals (cows) especially at night. Potholes destroying the front of the car.
Impossible not to if you are in the area. It's worth every mile of the 100 or so you have. Each lake a beauty and the road ten points. To go with time to stop watch enjoy and more
As always shocking and beautiful road... Very good condition of the road, even in snowy conditions. Caution but can be circulated unless the authorities cut it for safety.
Every day more beautiful and interesting, its landscapes make you not tire of observing the natural beauty of each place, it is to do it without rush
It is worth the tour, knowing that it does not have any infrastructure to drink, eat or stay overnight. Spectacular lakes and vegetation.
Route 40 between the stretch that links Villa la Angostura and San Martín de los Andes is this road, there are viewpoints in each of the lakes to be able to slow down to take photos, I recommend the entrance to mirror lake small and take the time to relax and enjoy a good afternoon, it is also very nice the beach of the beautiful lake. It is advisable to do the tour without luggage in the car to enter the beaches of the lake. Also along the way there are different viewpoints of the streams that give life to the lakes
The beauty of the landscapes of that corridor are breathtaking. All asphalt. It is 110 kilometers but being a winding road it takes a little while but one is enjoying every corner in sight. Separate mention of Lake Espejo. How wonderful! You have to take that tour, one of our beauties of this country. They won't regret it.
We contracted the Service with a combi, according to my disability and height ask about amenities, no problem. Ha, since we were the last ones picked up, I got the worst seat. It doesn’t take away the beauty of the trip thanks to the visualizations of the different landscapes.
The route of the seven lakes, obviously do it if or if, several stops, beautiful lakes, some similar, others not, if you can and walk in time I would dedicate all day, I did it in half a day
Making this bike path was the best decision we made. Four adventurers, four days, a world of sensations. We leave from Villa La Angostura to San Martin de los Andes. We rented the bikes in VLA and left them at SMA when we arrived, those who rented them went to find them. We stopped at campsites by the lakes and made stretches of approximately 25 km per day. You can make the way on the days you like, we loved doing it in that number of days and we were choosing which campsites to stop and night. We made the crossing in the first days of the month of March, we loved the weather and the days that touched us. Best pedaling of my life! Enjoy it!
Places that must be visited for their variety of landscapes , colors, rivers, mountains lakes, plant colors all along the route is incomparable
Route 40 has viewpoints on all lakes. The most beautiful were beautiful lake and small mirror. Large mirror lake was seen to have a beautiful beach from the access but was closed by irrigation sanitaro (rats). We recommend doing it on a bike
We went with my husband and rented a car!!!! The best I think because you stop whenever you want!! There are many viewpoints and everything marked!!! Impossible to miss.the view is a recess to the eyes!!!! You want to register everything in photos! we went from bariloche to san martin de los Andes with drizzles and Nevada in between! Great. And around a splendid sun!! It is unmissable to see back and forth! Even if you go on a hike! Oh, yeah. If you go by car control the fuel with full tank. so you will go relaxed!!
Wonderful view, several panoramic points, with interactions of rocks with lakes forming interesting images. Impermissible.
Make the way of the 7 Lakes from San Martín de los Andes to Villa La Angostura passing through all its viewpoints is a dazzling walk that cannot be missed! Majestic and wonderful landscapes surprise you every kilometer. A tip, do it slow and enjoying the scenery! Fantastic!!!
We rented a car from Villa la Angostura ($2000approx per day) we found it cheaper than going on tours and you can make the stops you like The road is beautiful you have to go slowly almost all the way
After leaving Route 234 and continuing along Route 40 reaching the Cullon Cura-Chimehuin River, the bridge is one-handed, so if you drive vehicles in front you have to stop and wait for the last one to pass, it has no signs indicating and it is after a curve.
A paradise, the beautiful landscapes of our country have nothing to envy the world, I say it because you have been lucky enough to travel.
Very good condition of the road. Nice to handle.Incredible landscapes of forests and lakes.Take precautions on bends
I have been through it more than once and in all of them I am surprised by something new, more and more accessible and admirable. Nature in full, peace, sun, green, everything the traveler likes and surprises
Villa La angostura is a smaller town than San Martin de Los Andes but fascinating. Seeing trout in its Natural Mood is already different, captivating , with snowy hills makes it even more beautiful, we were in October when they were already poking the green of the coniferas and the tamas were populated with deep yellows.
