Magical chance to see these amazing creatures close up. Nothing is guaranteed - our guide couldn't find anywhere with orcas to view on our day despite his best efforts. But in addition to whale cows and their calves, we saw sea lions, elephant seals and Magellan penguins. Like so many expeditions in Patagonia, it's a long distance across bumpy roads and a long day - but it's one you'll never forget. Excellent driver and guide.

Itinerary
The first stop is the interpretive center Carlos Ameghino Isthmus, where you'll learn about the flora, fauna and geology of the peninsula. Also, you'll enjoy the panoramic lookout point of Golfo Nuevo, San Jose and the Island of Birds. Don't forget to bring your camera for unforgettable photo opportunities!
Once in the town of Puerto Piramides, the ones who chose the whale watching navigation will get on the boat. You will be guided by our specialized and bilingual personnel, who will provide you with more information about the exclusive ecosystems of the coast and the sea, while you sail to meet the whales. Once you meet them, magic will start. The boat will stop the engines and silence will begin to reign, interrupted only by the sounds of the sea and the occasional bird. In this scenario, the whales will appear next to the boat and you will manage to live together in harmony in the same space for as long as they decide. It will be a unique moment where, if you are lucky, you will be able to see them very close.
The time has come to explore the famous Peninsula Valdes. Designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1999, the peninsula is renowned for its rich marine life and diverse terrestrial ecosystems. On the road, look out for some of the wild Argentinean land animals, including guanacos, rheas, foxes, maras (Patagonian hare), armadillos, and skunks.
Depending on the season, weather and the tides, you'll be visiting the following places in a different order or combined with other stops: Caleta Valdes, Punta Norte and Punta Cantor to observe elephant seals, penguins and sea lions. At sunset, you'll arrive back at Puerto Madryn and conclude the tour.

This was an incredible way to see a large expanse of land. Our tour guide was incredibly informational and gave us lots of background on the history, environment and animals in the reserve. We frequently stopped to get photos and observe the animals! We did the whale watching which was amazing. We got so close to so many of these beautiful animals. At first we were concerned about the lack of English translations while on the boat as not everything was being fully translated. However our tour guide came over and translated, as well as one of the guides on the boat. Everyone was extremely knowledgeable about the whales. They all took the time to educate us about the whales, the history of the ocean and Patagonia. I could not recommend the whale watching enough. All in all, this was a highlight of our time in Argentina. Everyone was communicative, engaged and made the trip!
On this tour we got to see so much wildlife. After we were picked up it took about an hour for Juan, our tour guide, to drive our group to the shore. The drive was largely through scrubland. Juan was very observant along the drive, stopping to point out guanacos, rheas, maras, and a rarely seen tinamou. He also answered questions we had along the way. When we arrived at Caleta Valdes we saw many elephant seals laying out on the beach and penguins along various parts of the beach and in the brushy areas. Juan scanned the shoreline with his binoculars and kept track on his phone with other people there to know where to go/look for orcas. Sure enough, we saw several orcas (killer whales) prowling along the shore looking for seals. It was amazing. Then we drove again and arrived at Puerto Piramides where we hopped on a large boat and found a few pairs of mother/baby Southern right whales. (The males had already migrated away by early November.) The whales were near our boat, swam around together, occasionally spouted, and also dove down and showed their flukes. The drive was very comfortable car-wise and temperature-wise. We also enjoyed getting to know the other tourists in the car on our drives. Juan was very focused on identifying as many animals as possible on our trip and his English was perfect.
Great day and Juan the tour guide was excellent. We managed to see seals, sea lions and some penguins. Unfortunately no Orcas came out to play but that did not deter us. Was an excellent day
The driver and guide Pedro and Tuiago made sure we had an informed conversation about the vast area we traveled. The car was comfortable for our ride. We traveled quite a lot of miles. We kept on schedule covered all the viewing areas we wanted and made it back to ship at the time we were promised.
Peninsula Valdes was great but the tour operator was not. They didn’t warn us beforehand that they decided to cut the trip short because they had to bring back part of our group back to their cruise ship. They picked us up earlier than expected with no warning and seemed pissed that we didn’t have the good timing from the reservation.
Was a fun trip with a ton of wildlife. I wouldn't book the whale watching through here though. You can pay for the whale watching part once you arrive for literally 1/3 of the price as offered through Viator.
A great day first seeing penguins and elephant seals and then shortly after going on the boat to see lots of beautiful whales. A great, well organized tour with a very nice and good guide!
An amazing experience, particularly the whale-watching! The whole tour was great, we got to see so many beautiful animals and nature. Can highly recommend! Also, our guide Juan filled me in perfectly on english.
Our guide, Juan was amazing at explaining the history and landscape to us as well as finding the wildlife for us to view. Unfortunately the winds were strong which made it impossible to go out and see the whales. But we were able to spot lots of other animals, stop at the interpretive center, wander the beaches, take lots of photos and be introduced to an incredible part of Argentina.
The experience was very nice and I definitely recommend taking the boat tour. The communication with the agency was not very good, I had to message them a couple of times to get a confirmation about the pick up and I didn't get an answer regarding if I needed to buy a ticket for for the park in advance or not and how much it was.
Had a wonderful day at Peninsula Valdes, saw a lot of animals including guanacos, maras, elephant seals, armadillos. Our guide was knowledgeable about the fauna on the peninsula. We were the only couple that didn’t go whale watching so had to find things to do for 2 hours while other went out to sea. Communication could have been a little better, I had to chase the pick up details and we waited for over 30 minutes to be picked up worrying that we had been left behind.
Ignacio was wonderful! The food was delicious, the animals were plentiful, the park was clean and beautiful and Ignacio was very friendly and helpful. Overall we had a great time and recommend this tour to others.
This was a great trip! Ignacio was the best tour guide and driver! He knew the answers to all of my questions about the flora and fauna of northern Patagonia and especially Peninsula Valdes. We did not get to see whales, but we saw penguins which was the highlight of my trip and many other animals too. Overall great day and great company! Would recommend!
This was wonderful experience! Our guide Ignacio was very professional and knowledgeable. He was also helpful and had great interpersonal skills. I highly recommend visiting this area. We saw a diversity of wildlife including a penguin; most had already left to sea. We also encountered numerous land animals, elephant seals and sea lions throughout the day.
Excellent trip, covered beautiful spots and highlights of the area. Tour guide (Juan) very knowledgeable and gave insight on regions we covered.
Amazing experience with wild nature of Peninsula Valdes and his history with really professional guide and stuff that's work there.
I would not recommend it at all! Apart from the local flora we saw very little. If the period is not recommended then they should not offer this kind of tour because it is really a waste of money and time. It has been completely different from what was in the description. In particular: - I had requested the tour to be in English and the tour operator kept speaking in Spanish despite me asking to translate. He said only 2/3 sentences in English and I could tell it wasn’t the full explanation he had given in Spanish. So, I didn’t understand almost anything as I don’t speak good Spanish. - The description stated that the access to the Peninsula Valdes is approx. 650 ARS but we had to pay 2800 ARS per person - Before the trip started we asked the tour operator if we needed cash to pay in restaurants and shops and he assured us that we could use credit cards, but this wasn’t the case and we couldn’t even have lunch because we didn’t have cash as we had to pay the high amount to enter the Peninsula - The description didn’t really specify what we could do if we hadn’t purchased the wale experience so we assumed that there were other activities in place or a trip back to the hotel. But when we got to Punto Piramides in the afternoon, we were told we had to wait in the bus for 2 hours which is unacceptable. So, we had to go back to the hotel with a taxi which cost us 10500 ARS. - Also, there were basically no animals. The very few we could see were so far away that we couldn’t even tell what they were. It felt like we have wasted our money and I don’t even understand what the price I paid included besides the transport as I wasn’t provided with what I was supposed to receive. I don't recommend this experience to anyone as my experience was so bad that I wouldn’t want anyone else to experience the same. I send a complaint on August 18 and I'm still waiting to hear a final answer from them despite the many follow-ups.
The trip was great in terms of wildlife and landscapes and our friver was amazing in spotting a lot of animals. However our guide was not reall nice with us, focused more on local, spanish speaking guests. We had half an hour at the orca place, which of course is nothing and we did not have a chance to see one. We stoped at a few places, which were nice. Bring your own water and food as there is nothing, there is a restaurant at one stop but very limited options.
Our bilingual guide Juan was excellent, very knowledgeable. He made our trip an unforgettable experience. We didn’t get to do the whale watching (January is out of whale season), but nevertheless it was so worth it. We got to see sea lions, sea elephants and penguins. Also guanacos (similar to lamas), patagonic hares, armadillos, patagonic ostriches, owls... Our driver was also very good, and would be very attentive for wild animals, pointing them out to us, stopping or going very slowly to take pictures. Our van was comfortable, with good A/C. A wonderful day. Note: even if the weather may seem hot in Madryn, do take a jacket, as it may get very windy (and thus cold) momentarily.
This was a full day with interesting and amazing experiences. We went to the bird's Island. Then we went to the Museum to get some Information about the flora and Fauna. We continued to Puerto Piramides. We went on a whale watching tour where we still saw some whales, although it was late in season. We went with Bottazi, who did a great job. We weent on to Caleta Valdes, where we saw Elephant seals, sea lions, penguins and several other birds species and a wonderful landscape. At last we got to the Northern Point where we saw more animals. On our way we saw guanacos aand owls and Patagonian ostriches. Cesar die a great Job drivingg and giving a bunch of infor,´mation.
Our guide, Juan, was excellent and gave us a wonderful tour. There were 4 of us plus Juan and the vehicle used only held 5 people. We were so crowded in the Car that one person got out and did not go. We have never had a problem like this with any other company.
I did the full day tour and chose to do the optional whale watching tour. My day was amazing, my bilingual guide was fantastic, and we saw Southern Right Whales on the boat trip. On land we saw many birds, including penguins, and several mammals. I've talked to a number of people who took shorter tours of the Peninsula and were disappointed. While this tour's length makes for a long day, I think this makes for a more rewarding experience. My guide was a local who talked about the history and culture of the area as well as the nature we were seeing, and she made sure we were as comfortable as possible during our long trip. Highly recommended.

Really enjoyed this tour! Unfortunately the whale watching trip was cancelled, as the weather was really bad so windy!, but the rest was great. Our guide was personable and knowledgeable and it was a huge help that he spoke such good english. It was nice to have such a small group, with myself and another couple and the guide in a car rather than a big bus load. We saw plenty of wild life - elephant seals, sea lions, patagonian hares, burrowing owls, birdlife, heaps of guanacos and some southern right whales in their breeding ground at sunrise which was amazing. The Peninsula Valdes is an incredible place.
I did have to chase up a refund for the whale watching, but once I chased it back they have told me I will have it in 3 - 5 days which is pretty good. would have been nice not to need to chase it up but not a big deal.
The only thing I would change would be maybe making it clearer on the initial email to bring lunch as I only brought snacks and we didn't stop until about 3 or 4 pm in the town in the Peninsula Valdes. not a huge deal but just the little organisational things can make all the difference.

Whale watching cruise was great. Knowledgeable tour guide with good English. Saw penguins, elephant seals and beautiful orcas from afar, guanacos and rheas.

Peninsula Valdes is a great experience. The whale-watching was fun, and the sites we visited to see the seals and penguins were beautiful. The tour was excellent our guide spoke both Spanish and English well enough to provide good information on the tour for everyone. Both the service and the sight were excellent on this tour.

It is a great experience but requires a lot of time to travel along the bad roads in the area. Still worth it.
Fantastic tour divided into 2. First the viewing of whales, which is a magnificent moment and then the walk through the peninsula of Valdes that was excellent. The guide was excellent
The place is really beautiful!!! The Kai team excellent, very friendly and professional! We hope to come back soon!!!
We were recommended by friends to hire the tour with KAI TRAVEL. We were received and advised very kindly. We will be back to see whales in October!
My experience was excellent We take a lot of pictures and shoot fantastic videos The attention of the girls was excellent Super friendly We would re-engage your services Highly recommended
Fantastic!! Excellent accommodation, food (the nautical ) and excursions (whale watching, the doradillo, peninsula de valdes, pyramid port, Gaiman and lobster reserve in Punta Loma.
Must-see experience! Beyond the walk and getting to know the wildlife in its natural habitat, enjoying the company of whales playing around the boat is simply wonderful.
A unique experience. The closeness of the whales amazing!! The peace that comes to the boats... and the respect that is generated is admirable. Unforgettable.
It's good in Puerto Madryn. At the Hotel Tolosa as well. Here "our" Patagonia truly began. The minibus that takes us to the Valdez Peninsula early in the morning immediately fills with the sounds of various languages. Clara who guides us is old and her hair is also rumpled, but she has her own charm. She is German by origin. After all, who is not European in Argentina? Apart from the few descendants of the Theuelche or Ona, all are at least a little English (or rather Welsh), Italian, German. In this area the Welsh prevail who preserve the habit of tea, in beautiful rooms. Leaving the industrial and mining landscape of Puerto Madryn, the boundless, very flat space of Patagonia begins. No human traces for kilometers. Only thorny bushes, tufts of grass, some contemptuous-looking guanacos (like their cousins llamas and camels), a few small groups of merino sheep swollen with wool and, over this almost nothing, the wind reigns supreme, the true master of these lands. Far away and solitary, a few completely autonomous estancias. At the information centre, among the panels that explain everything and the photos of Patagonian animals, the skeleton of a southern right whale stands out for a very long time, the other great protagonist of this historia naturalis at the edge of the world. Along an escarpment we glimpse some penguins busy brooding or simply asleep in some crevice of the cliff. At Caleta Valdes the foamy ocean opens up and the beach is teeming with sea lions, fat, clumsy, friendly, lying in complete idleness, apart from throwing piles of coarse-grained beach on themselves and calmly dragging themselves to the shore, to a little bath. You would want to go close to them, but you can't: this is their home and that of thousands of birds resting on the waves, not ours. Let's be content to observe them from the walkways and the long path.
The tour costs $150 per person, but in return you get a lot of time in the car, few animals and two unnecessary stops. You don't even get a bottle of water. As for the process: Pick-up was late, the stops were not timed, so we had to wait for others in the hot car. Not recommended!
do it with ARGENTINA VISION. EXCELLENT GUIDE, MARTIN. WE WERE TWO PEOPLE SPEAKING PERFECT ENGLISH, SUPER CORDIAL, WE VISITED ESTANCIA SAN LORENZO, SUPER RECOMMENDED
Excelente la excursión en todo sentido, vehículo muy cómodo con un guía Ignaicio sobresaliente no sólo en amabilidad sino también en conocimientos sobre la fauna , la historia del lugar . Para recomendar 10 puntos
Sono venuti a prenderci all'hotel puntualissimi.
I took this excursion in pesos and they charged me in dollars, so it cost me almost fifty percent more. Furthermore, they came to pick us up more than an hour after the agreed time. Finally, they took us to eat at a very expensive place in Puerto Pirámides: they charged us for a simple meal more than double what we paid in better quality restaurants in Puerto Madryn. I don't recommend them at all
Excellent service at the Tito Botazzi and Turismo Punta Tombo agencies. A Patagonian experience, not to be missed, on a trip to Puerto Madryn, Chubut, Argentina. Special mention to our guide Mimí Abdala, very knowledgeable about her job, and very attentive to her passengers. To Enzo , champion in driving on gravel roads and the crew of the boat.
The guide, Carolina, excellent, it couldn't be better, the excursion is wonderful, with the added bonus of Carolina's explanations, who is a great professional, it is clear that she loves what she does, in addition to having superlative preparation. It is worth paying what this experience is worth, the Captain of the boat and the guide, super committed, made it possible for us to see whales Excellent 100!
A trip to the Valdés Peninsula to go whale watching is a must. I would have preferred to have lunch at P. Pirámides and not the parador de caleta.
The trip was magnificent. My wife took many photos. Puerto Pirámides, Puerto Madryn, Gaiman, Carmen de Patagones, Tres Arroyos, Mar del Plata
I would like to know when the whale watching is this year? since they told me that now the season is almost over.
Meu sonho era ver baleias e eu as vi, bem pertinho. Vi também focas, leões e elefantes marinhos, guanacos e pinguins. A natureza da região é muito diferente da que vivo. Então vivemos um dia muito especial, que nunca esqueceremos.
It's magical, whales are incredible animals; Being able to be aware of the bond that the mother has with the whale is wonderful. See them play, feed... It was exciting. We had the opportunity to go bird watching with Peco Sosa. Excellent
Excellent whale watching excursion on board for an hour and a half with whaling guides who explain the behavior of the animals, visit to Lobería and Pinguineria (according to the fauna calendar), Itsmo Ameghino Interpretation Center. 100% nature. Highly recommended
The landscapes are dreamlike. They are all really beautiful! It's worth knowing! It is an unmissable destination, ideal for the family.
First it is necessary to highlight that before choosing the date for the trip it is necessary to see the sighting calendar because afterwards there are no claims given that q you can not see what there is!!! Whales abound in July, but there are no penguins and few sea lions. Whale watching was a mind-blowing experience. There were females, males and female calves approaching the vessel, passing x under giving a show that thrills to tears. Every peso that is invested is paid!!!
