Itinerary
We are going to meet at the pier 15 minutes before the departure. After collecting the boarding tickets at the office located on the pier of Lake Lacar, we begin the navigation.
This is a boat ride of approximately 28 km that visits much of the Lanín National Park and has several stops. At each stop you get off the boat and have time available for lunch, walk, buy handicrafts or simply contemplate the landscape.
The tour begins by visiting the residential area and beaches of Quila Quina, on the southern margin of Lake Lacar, where you can enjoy its beaches and have lunch at the restaurant (not included).
The next stop will be at Chachín Port, on the south-west margin of Nonthue Lake, to get there you will have to avoid a narrow line that separates Lake Lacar from Lake Nonthue. Its main attraction is the Chachín River Waterfall, a waterfall of about 30 meters high in the middle of the Valdivian Forest.
Leaving the Chachín Port and a few minutes you reach the Hua Hum Port, a few meters from the mouth of the Hua Hum River. Surrounded by a thick green vegetation that is reflected in its crystalline waters. In this sector there is the border crossing with Chile, the border milestone is only 4 km away; It is the lowest pass over the mountain range, about 640 meters above sea level.
The last stop, already back, is on Santa Teresita Island, which is located on Lake Lacar, an island with rocky coasts and covered with vegetation typical of the Patagonian Andean forests. The island has a small Chapel with the image of Santa Teresita del Niño Jesús, which gives the name to the island.
Later we will be returning to the pier were we started, been that the end of the excurtion.

Fantastic trip, very informative, the crew was amazing. Absolutely beautiful sights. We had an amazing time highly recommend
Excellent views. Great restaurant. The time in the boat goes by fast. Good hikes. You additionally need to pay for entrance to the park and they did not take credit card.
It was a really cool experience, but unfortunately we signed up for an English tour and ended up on a Spanish tour. Therefore, we didn’t really understand any of the facts shared, but we enjoyed the different visits made on the boat.
Good tour of the lake and some of the surroundings. Friendly and experienced tour guides make the tour interesting and fun. Highly recommended.
The boat trip was awesome. But I was very disappointed that I booked thru Viator and I paid for this trip three times as much as was the local people were paying. That was no good to find out.
Beautiful place. Beautiful lakes, quiet city, is not as expensive as sometimes you are told and scared. The only bad thing is the disaster of kas routes Argentina in Pampa 151 destroyed, route 40 in Mendoza impossible. Otherwise excellent
Good service. Beautiful places. The trip to Quila Quina and the excursion to Lanin Volcano : my favorites. DUBLIN Confectionery And Brewery: excellent. Nicely decorated. Unser Traum Tea House in downtown: 10. Tea House in Mirador Arrayanes : 7 Very typical Food House in Chapelco. Chapelco : good facilities, abundant and new snow. Buy chocolates in MAMUSIA
It's an incredible place. We went by car. Traveling the path of the 7 lakes. Stopping at each viewpoint. The views are incredible. But the most incredible thing is the view when you arrive at San Martín de los Andes. The route descends slowly like a glider and lands magically in the bay of San Martin de los Andes. If I were 20 years old I would do it on a bicycle. The entire route of the 7 lakes. First we had gone to the thunderer. The guide explained to us how the glaciers had been formed and how Bariloche had been formed. And there I understood the whole process. It's a beautiful walk. We went from Bariloche to San Martin.
Excellent excursion, beautiful landscapes, several stops are made, with enough time to explore, wear comfortable shoes, bring food since it is somewhat expensive in the places. If you have several days, I recommend getting the tickets on site, they cost much less.
The excursion starts at noon and ends at 7 p.m. It makes four stops, in Quila Quina where you can eat and/or tour the place to the beach, then it makes a stop at the Chachin waterfall, in the afternoon it stops at the end of the tour in Huam Hum where you can have a snack at a parador (too abusive for how expensive it is) and finally on the way back he makes a stop at Santa Teresita Island. It is worth doing the excursion, it is recommended to bring food or snacks to eat since the places are not cheap, especially for a snack.
Beautiful place with beach and tables for a picnic. The best price to buy the ticket directly there.
I guess the excursion is marketed by one Enterprise, I put 3 stars xq the landscapes are worth it. The boat was full of people, the guide correctly explained everything but on the return he asked that everyone take a seat in the places where we had left (they would have sold me tickets with reserved seats then) to avoid conflicts. This became a chaotic situation where people intended to sit in the same seats they previously had. In fact a family of 5 made us a whole approach xq we occupied 2 of 7 seats and they had nowhere to place their bags!!! A total disgrace! Since when in a lake navigation the seats are "reserved"???? Anyway. The landscapes were worth it
The excursion is beautiful, stops are made at Villa Quila Quina (where you give an hour free for lunch or touring), Chachin waterfall trail, Hua Hum and Santa Teresita Island. BUT the Chachin waterfall trail is "optional," as they mention, which is rare for a mandatory point of the excursion. If you don’t take that walk, the waterfall can’t be seen. The trail takes about an hour between round trips and until you get on the boat you are not informed of this hike. On the other hand, what you visit at the Hua Hum point is the hostelry that bears that name, not the border point with Chile. The boundary point is about 4km away and there is not enough time to get there. I repeat, the excursion is beautiful, with wonderful scenery and highly recommended but I think it is necessary to clarify these points of the excursion.
Beautiful beach on the shores of Lake Lacar. It has a pier where boats depart from Quila Quina to San Martin de los Andes. You can spend all day on the beach. At the parador you can consume cold drinks and meals (minutes and dishes). To reach the viewpoint where you have to travel a path of medium difficulty that is marked. It's worth the effort to get to Cachin Waterfall. Ideal for those who enjoy trekking.
The catamaran that crosses from the port of San Martín to Quila Quina, is a short trip and full of beautiful landscapes to photograph. Once you reach the Quila Quina, you can not miss making the way on foot, towards the great waterfall. That's really beautiful. Once on top of everything, you will not be able to stop taking pictures!! In 15 minutes you get on; the road is fine and they only charge 150 pesos per person for the maintenance of the place. In Quila Quina there are stalls selling honey, sweets, breads, etc. There are also several houses of people who live there and sell homemade, organic things, all very rich. The place also has a great restaurant and some food stalls at the pass. In our case we have seen ours because the restaurant values are very high. The walk is really worth doing. It's very nice.
It is a tour that must be done, visits important points of Lake Lacar and allows to know better the geography and history of the region. The guides contribute enough for that. The stops are fine, although they give just to know a little bit of each place, it would be too long the excursion if they extended more. Of course, I find the price exaggerated, but they have an almost monopoly concession... At least the boats are well maintained and clean, and the staff is good. I agree with several of the opinions: the restaurant of Quila Quina zafa hardly, it is best to take the food, it is another monopoly in action and although the portions are large, it is still expensive to eat minutes.
The trip was good to know the lake and the areas that are not seen from land , also serves to understand the landscape that surrounds us and the history of the area . The guide he touched us was a genius wise pile and answered all the questions he was asked showing great knowledge. The stops at the stops quila quina and Hua hum did not seem spectacular in terms of stops to eat.... In quila quina we had lunch and the food is not very good the portions are large but nothing more , the burgers are not homemade are package as are the frites , the empanadas were not rich either ... the best thing about the trip was the walk to the waterfall which is spectacular!! We must definitely do it!!!! If I had to make the trip again I would certainly do it but Maybe I'd take my own lunch and snack.
Beautiful whichever way I look at it! Peace, beautiful scenery! Quila Quina a beauty! Total relaxation, in the city much to go and twofruit too!
We did the sailing last Saturday, on a splendid day. It is really worth it: the landscape is splendid, the places we met very interesting and the guide exceptional, very friendly and contributing his knowledge at every step.
Re nice excursion! We did the 7-hour excursion and the whole trip and the Service were excellent.
