It was an excellent tour itself, Matthia did a very good and humorous Job in explaining all the things necessary for the fabrications. We could see all the steps in the production of Parmigiano Reggiano as they only produce 6 pieces per day. Also the Producer of the ham was there, 72year old Claudio, Who is still in business and cuts the ham with a hand-driven 50 year old machine. What a delight! Highly recommended tour! The best option for train tickets if you are not familiär with the system is in my opinion the app omio.com. They take a small fee, but the ticket ist automatically validated at the time when the train goes off.

Wonderful experience with a friendly and knowledgeable guide. We practically had a private tour with only 4 people in the group. We enjoyed very much. Gracie bene, Matthia!
Was really looking forward to this tour. NOT disappointed. Great guide. Grand tours. Delicious foods.
The tour was great. The making of Parmigiano Reggiano cheese was fascinating. We saw hands-on how the cheese is made, labeled and stored for aging. We enjoyed the various aged cheese samples, as well as a glad of wine. The second stop on the tour was at a farm for processing and curing prosciutto. It was also an interesting process. And we enjoyed some prosciutto and wine, following the tour. For my husband and I, the highlight was the cheese tour. So interesting. The
It was the best tour. I loved it all. From the moment I got off the train I was welcomed and taken to the Parmigiano Reggiano factory. We saw the process of how the cheese is made and then we got to try it. The best! Just when I didn’t think it could get any better we went over the road to the Brushwood to factory and we saw the owner salt that raw prosciutto and then we went through the process of how it is cured at the end of course we had some beautiful prosciutto that was cut by the owner on his mothers 50 year-old slicer by hand and of course it tasted divine. Grazie a fantastic tour.
This tour was excellent! The guides, the factories the food samples... 😋 Laurus(sp) & Pietro were the best! Very knowledgeable and answered all questions. Friendly and welcoming factories to visit. I highly recommend this tour, especially with these two gentlemen! Grazi!!
The tour guides were friendly, very helpful and informative. It was a great tour and I would highly recommend.
This was a wonderful tour to be on. It was a small group 8 which was personal and very informative. Our guide spoke excellent English and had a good sense of humor. Everybody enjoyed the tour. I’m glad we had a small group. Many of the other tour groups were 30-40 people And they could not hear their guide.
This was a wonderful tour and I highly recommend it. The Parmigiano Reggiano cheese process was fascinating. We were right with the workers for every step of the process. Then we got to eat some cheese of different ages with wine. Great! On the way to Parma ham (Prosciutto) we got to see the beautiful countryside of Parma. At the factory they took us through every step of the process. Very interesting. This tour should definitely be on your To Do list. Our problem was our train tickets. When we first got them. I thought they were fine. Then I was told they must be validated before use. That was a complete nightmare. We talked to multiple people at the train station. They said they couldn’t validate them. Only the person (business) could do it. With the help of multiple people we got on the train and eventually the return ticket got validated so going home was no issue.
Sergio, our guide, was fantastic. Very interesting and funny and gave us so much information throughout the tour. We both had a brilliant time. The tastings were excellent and very generous too.
Fantastic food. And the tour was so informative. Very friendly staff. Loved all the details and information about the cheese process and the Prosciutto process.
Had a great day and very informative, and friendly people. I would recommend ti friend and family we sent home some pictures of the day
Really fascinating tour. We learnt so much about Parmesan and Parma Ham, all presented in a friendly and fun way. Really excellent and well informed guide. All the arrangements made easily and efficiently. Great value for a tour like this too! Highly recommend.
The guides were excellent and very informative and accommodating. The food and the wine were fantastic and the places we visited were welcoming, clean and professional. The bus was air conditioned and comfortable and the food portions and quality were the best we have had so far. The final stop was perfect and the staff was absolutely the best. I’d highly recommend to others.
We signed up for Parma trip to tour Parma cheese and prosciutto factory from Bologna. The contract was that we supposed to take the train from Bologna to Parma with train tickets supply by tour company: Bologna Travel. Our schedule was taking 7:30am train to Parma and when we arrived, we will take a minivan in front of NH Hotel at 8:30am to start the tour. On the day of the travel, we did what was told. We took the 7:30 am train to Parma. However train was running 10 mini late. I “WhatsApp” to the tour company and alert them the train was late and please wait and don’t leave us behind. We noted that the message was received but no response. Since we had never been to Parma, we didn’t know where was the front of the train station entrance(tour company didn’t instructed), we ended up exited at the back of the train station and wasted 5 more minutes to ran to the meeting site: NH Hotel. By the time we got to the meeting site, it was 8:50am. The place was deserted, no people, no vans. We contacted the travel company many times, they don’t know what was going on either. My husband and I stood outside in the cold for 30 minutes in a unknown city and empty lot, it was quite unnerving and very upsetting. Travel company eventually get back to us 1/2 hour later and said because we were late, the tour left without us! What!!!! The tour operator eventually picked us up at Parma station 40 minutes later and took us separately to the factory while the rest of the tour continued with their factory tour. We missed good amount of the tour and eventually joined up with the tour. We follow everything to the dot on what the tour company instructed us to do before the tour and we alerted them in advance that the train was running late, why was it our fault that the train was late and ditched us behind???????!!!!!! As you can checked on your record, my husband and I signed up for so many tours for our 16 days in Italy with TripAdvisor and we had very positive experience. But this tour was the worst experience we had! Apparently, there was a breakdown commutation problem between the tour company(Bologna Tour) and it’s operator. If they don’t check the train schedule for the clients coming from Bologna, they SHOULD NOT even have that tour! Most of all, don’t blame the clients!
Very knowledgeable Guide and a fun tour! Picked up on time at the agreed location and finally allowed to taste.
Goed geregeld, fijne gids. Goede uitleg over de kaas en ham productie. En last but not least een leuke proeverij bij beide locaties.
The trip is poorly organized and is too expensive for what it offers. Quality/price: a shame. E.g. The train ticket Bologna - Parma (round trip) costs 30 euros, in reality I paid 16 euros. The service leaves something to be desired.
Seeing how the best ham in the world is made was really exciting. The guys showed us a Parma ham factory with a really great tasting!
