The full experience was totally worth the price! We experienced the full process of production of the cheese since it is just mild inside a reservoir. It took about 2 hours, with all the details explained. As a recommendation, choose the first schedule of the day to have the opportunity to see the full process, and probably less attendants.

Exceptional from Beginning to End This tour was absolutely exceptional. Mattia was a fantastic guide, funny, engaging and incredibly knowledgeable. Having previously worked inside the factory making Parmigiano Reggiano himself, he could explain every part of the process from genuine firsthand experience. We followed the entire journey of the cheese, from the first stages of production through brining and into the extraordinary ageing room, where we saw wheels ranging from newly produced Parmigiano to varieties aged for as long as 100 months. Mattia made everything fascinating and entertaining for both me and my daughter, who is seven. The tour finished with a wonderful tasting in the garden. We sampled a younger Parmigiano alongside Parmigiano aged for 30 months, accompanied by crackers and local sparkling red wine. Being able to compare the two ages made it easy to understand how dramatically the flavor and texture develop over time. Fabio, our driver, was also excellent, extremely professional, friendly and accommodating. He went the extra mile to make our return especially convenient, which we truly appreciated. A beautifully organized, informative and memorable experience. I would highly recommend this tour to adults and families alike.
Was a fun and interesting experience. Learned that parmigiano making is labour intensive and a labour of love. That’s why this cheese is so good. Our guide, Gianfranco, was very good and knowledgeable.
We enjoyed seeing and learning about the production of parm. Reggiano. The tour guide was excellent. We were satisfied to just do this part of the tour and not do the whole day tour. We had an excellent lunch in Parma at La Greppia.
Really enjoyed the tour of the farm where Parmesan cheese is made. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable about the whole process and made the trip very interesting,
We had a fantastic time! Would recommend to friends. It was incredibly informative and interesting. Amazing to see the production in front of your eyes (instead of all the documentaries we saw before). It's truly something else! Be wary - the smell is quite strong, a few in our group couldn't handle it and had to sit out on the tour. Tried 12 month and 30 month Parmigiano at the end with the local wine. Few negatives: there were quite a bit of organizational issues at the begin once we arrived (>30 mins waiting around). Our group was way too big like more than 20 people. It felt like it was more advertised to be a smaller group. It'd also be nice to have adult-only tours.
Could not recommend this tour more, had a 12:30 train out of Parma that day but the transfers made everything super convenient. Got to see the entire cheese making process, taste the cheeses, and visit the cows. Our guide was incredibly nice and informative, and overall. had a wonderful experience.
Our transfer left the meeting point on time. We had to wait a bit, because the other van had the guide in it. It was a step by step guide to how parmigiano is produced. From the grass to the ageing process. Everything was interesting. Plenty of cheese and wine was provided at the end. Great driver and guide. I would definitely recommend.
Our tour guide Fabiola was amazing
Great day to see how true cheese is made.
Excellent tour guide, very knowledgeable and we were able to see every step in the process. Definitely go on the first tour of the day.
Very insightful and informative seeing the process from start to finish. Loved the fact that the tour featured a small organic farm that grows the grass, raises that dairy cows and uses the milk to make the Parmesan cheese. Full 360 experience! Very friendly, excellent shuttle service to and from the farm with English speaking guides! A must experience while visiting Parma.
Don't hesitate to book this tour! It was super informative, comfortable and interesting. Our tour guide was awesome. We learned a lot about the process of making parmesan reggiano, from seeing the cows that are milked to the molding of the cheese, it was very educational. We got to taste the cheese as well with a glass of wine. We took our teo kids, ages 10 and 11 and they loved it too!
Highly recommend this tour! A very relaxed and enjoyable experience overall which provided us with a great insight into how parmigiano reggiano. We were very happy Loris and Matteo, as well as our driver Fabio/Fabrizio who kindly dropped us to the centre of Parma at the end of the tour. The cheese was fantastic!
Fantastic tour! Highly recommend. The tour guides were exceptional and very knowledgeable and welcoming. Detailed view of the actual process of cheese making on an actual farm that produces/processes the cheese.. The tour provides transportation to/from the tour - excellent service. Definitely my husband and I enjoyed this tour very much & the tasting of cheeses and wine were superb.
Excellent trip and well worth taking. Learned a lot about how Parmesan is made and its cultural relevance in Italy. Very friendly tour guide and very knowledgeable. Very generous portions of different ages of Parmesan and Lambrusco. Loved it!
If you want to meet some cows and view cheesemaking up close, this is the tour for you. The organic Gazzano farm that we went to in February 2026 produces just six wheels a day and we saw them all formed by hand. It was an extraordinary experience to see so much of the process from literally inches away. The tour was super informative and you can choose to bore down deep into all the details or just observe. We learned about the milking (approximately 500 litres per wheel!), the shaping, soaking, labeling, aging, and grading just to name a few. Samples were plentiful and there was zero sales pressure to purchase anything. It was a memorable experience for our family (including a 13 year old) and was exactly the sort of artisanal production we were looking for. Bravo! Go and kiss a cow. They deserve it.
Top choice for authentic Parmesan Cheese Making Process Experience. Our guide was friendly, knowledgable and very detailed in explaining every detail. Definitely book this experience in Parma. We loved every part of it!
What an amazing experience!!! Our guide Sergio was incredible, he is very knowledgeable, and entertaining, il caseificio is great, I’m glad it’s a small one, I learned so much about the Art of cheese making, also about il prosciutto di Parma !
Matteo (spelling?) was exceptional. He gave a great overview of the Parma region as well as deep and interesting knowledge about the parmigiana cheese making process. Engaging, funny and informative.
Lovely tour and it was super informative. The transfer from the Parma train station was super easy and it was so nice to interact with other participants too!
What an incredible experience. One of the best tours I’ve ever taken. Very informative and intimate. Our guide was fantastic. I left here with so much knowledge about the process and pride that goes into every wheel of parmigiano cheese! Perfecto!
The provider contacted me on Oct 12th to confirm our attendance in less than 24 hours. She changed the time to 4pm instead of 5pm and we were on a train to Parma She offered another date/time and we already had the Parmeggiano tours tickets and we could not make it at her sugested times.. If we knew way in advance, at least 24 hours, we were able to cancel but she did not contact us to tell about the 4pm change. She canceled the appointment from her end. We were ready to attend at 5pm as planned but she made it clear it was at 4pm. We paid for 3 tickets for a class/service that WAS NOT provided. Lack of communication from her end, just a text She did contact us by text in less than 24 hours giving us no space to cancel since we were traveling to Parma. We could not make it. We need a refund and I already disputed the charges from my end
Great option if you only want to visit a cheese producer. We got to see the entire process from start to finish at a smaller producer that does the entire process in-house. From milk from their own cows to the final cheese. Our guide Lori's was friendly and informative and explained every part of the process. He even suggested a shop in Parma to get 100 month old Parmigiano Reggiano.
Great tour of local family factory. Transportation was prompt and clean. Tour guide spoke good English added humor and answered all questions thoroughly. Cheese was yummy and we bought several from their on site shop.
Visiting the Parmigiano cheese factory in Parma was such a memorable experience! As a solo traveler from Pakistan, I loved connecting with the group and sharing this journey together. Our tour guide, Daniele, was incredibly sweet and knowledgeable who made the whole experience even better. Watching the cheese-making process up close and exploring the beautiful countryside of Parma was amazing. The cheese tasting was the highlight, and of course, I couldn’t resist buying some authentic Parmigiano straight from the factory!
This tour was just an enjoyable time and a nice opportunity to meet people from elsewhere. The subject was very interesting and most educational. I would recommend a food tour in Parma to everybody.
This was a lovely experience. We made a stop to Parma specifically for this as we wanted to see and experince the whole process of how it is made. It was very informative and you'll see all the steps starting from the cows to the storage. The cheese room was wonderful.
Excellent tour! Highly recommended! Very knowleable tour guide. We had english tpur guide. Everything was great and fun!.
I thought it was well done, organized and very informative. So glad we did it. The tour guide was knowledgeable and open to any questions we had.
Fantastic tour. Daniela great host. Interesting and informative. Highly recommend. I would book this tour anytime. Thanks for a great tour
You’ll learn about how good quality cheese is made. From the cows, to milk to cheese. Our guide was very informative; we were able to see the entire process. Absolutely worth it. We sampled various aged cheese and there a noticeable difference in better (older) cheese.
This was a highlight of our trip to Italy. Parma itself is lovely and quiet and a good change from the crowds of Florence/Venice. But this tour? So fun and interesting. Our tour group included two preschoolers and two teens, and everyone was engaged and included. Meeting the people who literally make theThis was a highlight of our trip to Italy. Parma itself is lovely and quiet and a good change from the crowds of Florence/Venice. But this tour? So fun and interesting. Our tour group included two preschoolers and two teens, and everyone was engaged and included. Meeting the people who literally make the food items, particularly having the man who owned the parma ham company slice our tastings on an antique slicer he'd been given as a wedding gift decades ago!
Very interesting and well worth the couple of hours. Explanations of the cheese making process were clear, friendly and fun. The country-side ride is also lovely. Very convenient if you don't have a car.
Learned a lot about the cheese making process and how to differentiate authentic ParmesanReggiano from lesser quality imitations.
Matthias was a knowledgeable and great guide. He took the time to explain the entire process. This was my 2nd tour! The cheese was delicious!
Had an amazing morning on this fantastic little tour. We were picked up on time by our fabulous tour guide George (aka Sergio) who was very friendly. Lovely short car ride through beautiful countryside to reach the Dairy. Beautiful setting and amazing tour following the full journey from cow to store! George also gave our tour and demonstrations and was so knowledgable and personable, a real asset to the team. The tasting at the end was fantastic and they have a little farm shop where you can buy delicious cheese from the cheesemaster himself. Highly recommend!
Wonderful tour! The tour guide did an amazing job telling us about the entire process. I would highly recommend this experience.
This cheese tour was an absolute delight—fun, informative, and wonderfully hands-on. We learned so much about the process behind authentic Parmigiano Reggiano, and the intimate setting made it even more special. The timing was spot on—never rushed, never dragging. Highly recommend!
We fully enjoyed our tour of the cheese farm. Wish I could remember the fellow who picked us up at the hotel he was wonderful very knowledgeable and eager to answer any questions we had. This was something my husband really wanted to do. Thank you from Mike & Lisa from Florida 🧀
I warmly recommend this tour-our guide was very pleasant, informative and passionate. It was fascinating to discover the making of Parmigiano Reggiano in all its splendid tradition.
This was fascinating. Pietro clearly has a true love of his region and a true pride in the tradition of Parmegiano Reggiano. We left with a much deeper appreciation for the high standards that make this food so special.
Both us and our kids (8 & 11) loved it. We were a small group which is always good while visiting such places. We could observe (sometimes touch) everything from a close distance. Very informative. The tasting at the end was a nice touch, I admit :)
Loris explained everything very well. Learned a lot about the process. Could watch part of the production, as well as the salt bath and the storage. Got two different ages to taste and a sip of wine. Still a bit too expensive
Loris, our guide, did an excellent job in explaining everything about the process of making Parmiggiano and Prosciutto (did both tours) - from start to the finished product. Great to see the cheesemakers working and how much effort is put into every single piece/wheel og cheese/prosciutto. Great day out in the country - tastings are generous. Loris by the way spoke English very well!! Thanks, I had a lovely time.
Our guide was so informative and it felt like the real deal-up close with a small parmigiano producer. Great experience and fun!
Fabulous tour! Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. Short but beautiful drive through Parma countryside. Highly recommend!!
Loved seeing so many wheels of cheese on the shelves and learning how they can tell if they are good enough to merit the official stamp of Parmesan Reggiano. Also how they initially mix the ingredients and how different the taste is before the salt is added (wasn’t palatable at all)
Loris was an amazing tour guide. We enjoyed our tour very much, especially learning the process of making Parma cheese.
A must do experience! Matthias, our guide made a real nice tour, explained us everything about parmegianno regiano and he also helped us with our trip in Italy with restaurants and etc.
