It was so wonderful and nice. Nice Guide and place
Rebecca was an incredible guide - welcoming, friendly, knowledgeable. The tour was fascinating and the product delicious.
Rebecca was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Such an interesting experience and highly recommended.
Our tour guide, Rebecca was extremely knowledgeable and gracious. She not only shared a wealth of information, she was eager to answer questions. Our disappointment was that only the morning tour would actually see the cheese making process. That important piece of information was not disclosed when booking or we never would have selected an afternoon tour. The only thing in action we saw were the cows eating. Clearly disappointed in the tour description.
This was exactly what we were looking for. We booked last minute and were not disappointed. Our guide was knowledgeable and easy to understand.
This is a small organic farm with about 300 cows. Rebecca our guide gave us a history of the cheese and the farm. We saw the cows and she explained the process of how they take care of them. Then we saw the next generation of cows waiting to mature before they are moved to the main barn. Then we toured where the cheese wheels are produced. This farm produces about 3 to 8 200 lb cheese wheels a day. Next was the 3 week process of the cheese in salt water to dry it out. Then they move to the aging room where they must pass certification in order to be called Parmesan. There is a lot more to tell but I don’t want to ruin the tour for you. I highly recommend.
This was an amazing tour. Very detailed. Nice group size. The guide was very thorough and amazing. She was very engaging and pleasant. You could tell she loved her job. She went through everything that you would like to learn about Parma. She was very patient and personable. This is worth the money and time. The cheese sampling was delicious and I made sure to buy as much as I could take in my luggage. I would suggest this tour to all my friends and family. Definitely a must!
the experience was something i won't forget for a long time. our guide spoke great english and was very informative, she taught us things about the cheese making process that i would of never knew. If you're looking for a great tour i suggest taking this tour..
Our guide was very good, friendly and funny, we love the tour highly recommended , is really good experience to see the cows eating you will love it.
We had a wonderful time and learned a lot. Our guide was very knowledgeable and fun to listen to. We highly recommend this.
We really enjoyed our Parmigiano Reggiano factory tour. The entire experience was very interesting and gave us a fascinating look at how this incredible cheese is made. Rebecca was extremely knowledgeable and explained every step of the process clearly and engagingly. She was also very professional, kind, and made the tour even more enjoyable. A wonderful experience and definitely something I would recommend to anyone visiting the Parma area!
Our tour guide Loris waited an hour for us we were stuck in traffic!! Luckily we were able to do the tour and loved every minute of it!! Highly recommend when visiting Parma or just passing through!!
Incredible experience touring Borgo Del Gazzano! Loris, our guide, was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend attending the morning tour for the ‘birth’ - excellent value.
Multilingual guide, lots of great info. Tastings deepened our understanding & appreciation of this fine cheese. Taxi there and back cost as much as the tour but was worth it
Very informative tour and very friendly and knowledgeable guide. It was efficient but not hurried at all. The cheese was delicious and the wine was an added bonus. Highly recommend.
Overall the tour was interesting. Getting to experience the “birth” of the cheese was great. My husband and I felt like the tour could be shorter by cutting some of the time spent see all the cows. That said, I would recommend this tour.
Well organized, very well explained during the tour, really friendly and welcoming. And very good cheese!
We had an amazing time and learned so much about the cheese making process! Our host Laurence was humorous and educational. It is perfect for a quicker experience that only takes less than two hours.
This was a wonderful experience! From the barn to the cheese tasting, you learn about the land and connection of the animals to the culture. Our guide was so kind, and answered all questions. He was great with our children as well!
Owner provided the tour. The order of the tour should be refined to match the name. For example views should be first, followed by milking. Transfer milk to the boiling tanks, separation of cream and milk. Production of cheese, then a visit to the time aging and ultimately the cheese storage. Our trip started in the cheese creating room went to cows and ended in storage. Not helpful. All in all a good tour. Low pressure sales were great.
This was the most amazing experience! One of a kind, the kids loved it. The baby cows were the highlight.
This tour was incredible! Daniella was an amazing guide. We really got to see every part of the Parmagianno Regianno making process. And the cheese at the end was delicious
We did this tour as a family this afternoon and we all had an amazing time, personally my favorite thing we have done on our trip to Italy so far. Loris (I hope I’m spelling the name right) was an exceptional guide, it was so much fun viewing the entire process of the cheese making. It was very informative, interesting and fun. We did it with our two children who had an amazing time. I would absolutely recommend going out of your way to make this tour, and would recommend it for any age group. We capped it off with buying a bunch of Parmesan from the shop which we will share with family and friends along with the photos from the tour. Cannot recommend enough, absolutely worth the trip!
This was a great experience! The guide at the farm was a local dairy farmer who partners with this cheese farm. We got to see first hand the process. We arrive at feeding time for the dairy cows which was a bonus. Definitely recommend. The cheese is delicious and must buy to take back home.
Great experience for the whole family. My 17 year old son said, “it was great”. If you know 17 year old boys, you know that’s high praise. The entire experience was lovely. We met the cows, learned from the man himself, and ate amazing cheese. Best tour!
We went on the early morning tour. I highly suggest this time slot b/c you get to see the actual cheese being made ( not just an explanation of how it’s done). It’s very interesting and we learned a lot. The whole group I was with agreed. Our guide was terrific. He was funny and knowledgeable . He could “read the room”
I had a great experience on this tour! The tour was given by the actual "cheese master" of the company. Everyday he makes the Parmesan cheese, he was an expert on all things related to the craft! Worth it, you won't regret doing this! Cheese you tasste is 100% organic and delicious!
If you love parmagiano reggiano this tour is a most. Very educational. The pairing of the wine with the parmagiano reggiano was excellent. The 3 grades of Parmagiano reggiano I never knew.i is waiting for you.
It was so interesting! I never knew so much about how the cheese is made. Our guide was kind and informative
We loved every minute. Seeing the cows eating the hay, watching the cheese master & associate pull the cheese from the copper & steel vats, seeing how it dries & shapes into wheels, seeing the storage and aging and classifications of the cheese, to tasting. Our guide, a cheese master himself, provided information every step of the way explaining what, how and why. Highly recommend!
Interesting to know the process and to test the product. Master cheese maker knows his stuff and is knowledgeable.
Very interesting and educational experience! The guided tour allowed us to discover all the phases of Parmigiano Reggiano production, from the cows to the finished cheese. A truly pleasant visit, well explained and recommended to anyone who wants to get to know the tradition and processing of this typical product up close.
Definitely a pleasant and exciting experience. Seeing the cows being kept with such care is a pleasure. The milk transformed into quality cheese is a work of art. Excellent tour!
Super to experience the entire process of making Parmigiano (from cow to cheese)
This was an indescribable experience. The guide was very well informed about everything, and he was also able to answer more specific questions very confidently. He presented the information very clearly and did justice to all participants. Being allowed to watch how such a great product is made is truly something special. This tour is highly recommended without reservation.
We had the 8:50 cheese tour. The cheese tour had been on my bucket list for a while because ‘I love cheese’ and had to have seen this once. I wasn't disappointed! The tour was very cool, you learn a lot but that we were also allowed to look at the cows and get an explanation about this I did not expect, but I really liked it! At the end of the tour we bought a nice Parmigiano Reggiano to enjoy at home. This tour is definitely recommended! Please note: this tour does not include transport and I do not think you can get there by public transport. If you have your own transport it is easy to drive and find.
Had 2 hour excursion from cow to storage of cheeses. Very enthusiastic guide. Tasted wine and cheese. Was very interesting.
