Itinerary
Once the royal Palace of France's most famous Kings, the Chateau of Versailles is simply outstanding. We'll make a timed entrance reservation for you and you'll be able to stay inside of the palace for as long as you want at the end of the bike tour.
Opened in the time of King Louis 14th, the Versailles Farmers Market is outstanding! Your guide will give you a market tour to get you familiar with where all the best foods can be found. Then you will have 30 minutes of free time to roam the brimming food stalls and pick up whatever you want to eat for the picnic that will happen later in the day.
This was the hide-away of Marie-Antoinette! Seeking a complete break from royal life Queen Marie-Antoinette had this private farm village built so that she could pretend to be a commoner. You'll do a walking tour on the little paths through the village and farmyard and be able to pet some of the adorable animals that live there today such as the pigs, sheep, goats, geese, and cows.
With more than 2,000 acres of beautiful landscapes, fields of wheat and beats, an immense artificial lake, and perfectly trimmed trees the Royal Grounds will amaze you. We'll cycle around them in a leisurely way so that you can see the best of the Royal grounds without spending a lot of energy.
Built by Louis 14th as a summer house. This mini palace is where the French Kings would go to escape from the etiquette of the court but still be close at hand in case they were needed. You'll learn about the Grand Trianon's history from your guide and then be able to go inside of it and explore the beauty of its French gardens full of flowers. Tickets into the Grand Trianon are included in the tour price!
Enjoy your lunch while sitting in the soft grass gazing over the largest lake in Versailles. You’ll love the view over the lake of the Palace from this secluded part of the grounds. This is where you'll eat the picnic supplies that you purchased earlier at the Versailles Farmers Market.
Built for the King's favorite mistress Madame de Pompadour, this little chateau was later given to Queen Marie-Antoinette. You'll learn all about it from your guide and then have free time to explore inside and see where Marie-Antoinette used to sleep and eat. Tickets to the Petit Trianon are included in the tour price.
Feel the breeze and smell the trees when you ride through the lush green of the Royal forests. You'll see where the French Royalty used to spend their afternoons hiding from court protocol hunting stag, pheasant, wild boar, and fox.
The Royal grounds of Versailles have dozens of fountains and water displays on them. The fountain of Apollo is the most famous one as it represents the Sun God Apollo rising from the darkness to bring light. the world. King Louis 14th called himself "the Sun King" because he thought himself to be like Apollo as he brought light and wealth to his country.
Mirrors were extremely rare and expensive in the 1700s. So when King Louis 14th had his main reception hall completely covered in them it showed his great wealth and extravagance to the world. You'll have free time to visit the famous Hall of Mirrors and be able to take the perfect selfie as a souvenir of your time in Versailles.

This was a great experience! Very fun and allowed use to see more of the palace grounds than we could have by foot. Our guide, Michael, was very knowledgeable and made the history fun and interesting and he provided excellent recommendations for where to get the best food for lunch.
This was a great experience. Being able to bike around the huge Versailles property, allowed us to experience so much more than just touring the palace. The Guide was excellent and the picnic was great. I would totally recommend this tour.
Our guide Michael was great and paced himself on the bike tour that allowed all members of our group to keep up. Explained and outlined the history at specific points that was insightful. Versailles itself is ENORMOUS! A bike certainly necessary to see the property and even then you will still get your steps in! The palace itself is full of grandeur and over the top in its construction and decor. You can see how and why taxpayers revolted!
A great way to cover a lot of ground in one day. Our guide (Michel-Ange) was great - attentive but also gave us time and space- the bikes were very good, the organization was great. Just a pleasure from beginning to end.
From beginning till the end, was good trip. We take train, tickets is included go to Versailles and back anytime after tour. Plus includes ticket go to Versailles, is really beautiful place, need to see. Trip finished around 15:00. Bikes are comfortable, in autumn take gloves, useful. Morning is cold. People are friendly . Guide is very good, telling history about kings and how is becoming Versailles so big, interesting stories.
This would have been a great experience but due to weather we were not able to ride bikes or participate in most of the days activities
We had a great time on our bike tour of Versailles. It was a fun and beautiful bike ride through the gardens in fall. Our guide was great and had interesting stories to tell about the gardens and the history of the palace. The stop in the market was a fun way to start, quite a few vendors had samples ready for our group as we walked through and our guide had great recommendations for paces to grab provisions for our picnic lunch. It was a great way to see a lot of the garden grounds, although there isn’t time to go into the gardens closer to the palace unless you want to go after the tour concludes. We would definitely recommend this to people, but please make sure you are confident riding a bike! You will have to take your bike through a very short section of small city traffic to get to the tour start and on the way back to return the bikes.
Our tour guide Mikael was the best. Very knowledgeable, kind, and charming throughout the entire tour which definitely enhanced our lovely experience. Blue Fox Travel was also very helpful in accommodating our request to meet the tour group in Versailles since we were staying closer to there than Paris, which is where the tour was scheduled to meet and start. Book your bike tour here! 🚲🇫🇷✨
Very well organized, From the meeting place to then end. We enjoyed it to the max, our guide was awesome . would definitely recommend this tour.
Great way to explore Versailles. The tour guide was friendly and explained the history of the place and guided us well through the place. Definitely recommend.
Jo was amazing! He was a delightful guide to spend the day with. We had some so much fun biking through Versailles.
Aaron was an awesome tour guide! He made us all feel very comfortable and gave us the inside scoops on all things Paris. We enjoyed the farmers market where we got to try some samples of meats, cheeses, and desserts. Good sized group of 10 made things flow relatively smoothly.
A great experience and well worth visiting. We explored the park by bike, which was the perfect way to appreciate just how vast it is. You can cover so much more ground than you could on foot, and cycling really gave us a sense of the scale of the place. Our guide was Joris, and how amazing is he! As the group was large and we were a family of five, he split the group with the other guide and became our dedicated guide. Such a talented and wonderful man with so much knowledge, and a pleasure to spend the day with in an amazing setting. The weather was not kind, but his good humor and planning meant we still saw the whole park and only got a little bit wet. A great memory for the family.
This was a highlight of our trip! It was easy to find the meeting point, using the directions we received. Our guide walked us to the train station and explained the day to us. It was so much fun. There were 14 people in our group and it was very easy to move about through the streets and the park of Versailles. Our guide, Jolis (Joe) was amazing. He was so KIND and knowledgeable and entertaining. At the end, he walked us to the entrance of the palace, and gave us easy to follow directions back to the train and said aur revoir. You then have as much time as you want to walk through the palace. It was crowded, but worth taking the time to see.
Our family has a unanimous favorite part of our trip to France and it is "Jo!" Jo was our tour guide, and he is incredible. We met him at Starbucks in the morning and he lead us and the other participants onto the train to Versailles. His knowledge of the area and its history, combined with his energy and creativity was well worth the cost of the trip. We loved Versailles and the market. The castle grounds are amazing and the little village houses were charming. The biking is not strenuous. I do wish we would have gotten an additional guide for the castle itself, but we still enjoyed the artwork there. We finished the day at a restaurant nearby (recommended by Jo) before taking the train back to Paris. 5 stars!
Taking the cycling tour of Versailles was a great way to explore the vast grounds and buildings and gain insights into the history of the place. Aaron was a fantastic guide, knowledgeable, good-humoured, and he paced the day perfectly. I would definitely recommend both Blue Bike Tours and Aaron.
Our tour of Versailles and bike ride was excellent, a great learning experience about an important portion of French history and lots of fun. Our guide Joris was extremely knowledgeable and very personable.
Joe was the best guide we could have possibly asked for!
Guillome was a fantastic guide. He was very informative and kept the history interesting. It started raining just as we were getting onto bikes, but he kept a positive attitude and made it a great day.. I would recommend this trip to everyone, the biking was easy and we saw saw much more of the grounds .
Our group had an awesome experience. Arnaud was a truly exceptional guide.
The instructions given for the meeting point and how to get back to Paris were excellent. Joris was a wonderfully entertaining guide.
This was a great day. You meet in Paris and then ride out to the palace. Once there they walk you over to an open air market to buy your lunch. You need to pay for this, not included with your ticket price. You then get on bikes and ride all over the palace grounds. You stop at two smaller museums (to me they were not that exciting). The grounds are wonderful. You stop for lunch. At the end of the day they give you a pass for the main palace. Personally I would have liked to spend more time in the main palace than the other two small ones. Overall a great day. I think our guide was Michael and he was great.
The guide, Aaron was great! Funny, knowledgeable and very passionate.
Guide Aaron was great! Fun way to see Versailles and the grounds. The palace itself is very crowded and not as fun as the rest of the experience
Got the tour after a friend's recommendation and, if you ask me, is a must! Little experiences equals riding a bike when you're visiting a new country and the forests were the palace is located is absolutely stunning. The palace itself, of course, it's a marvel that simply blows your mind with its immensity. It's also great that it's all included except for the food you'll eat on your picnic (Cheeses and Wine are top-notch, as you may expect). We stayed there until the gardens were closed, our tour guide stayed with us until 3:30pm, which is the time we enter the palace after having the picnic. If you do the tour and meet Jouris, you can rest assured you're in good hands, he's a very nice person and has great energy, I'm sure everyone in our group would agree! He was also very attentive: my friend left his phone on a bench and lost it (we got it back by the end of the day because the person who found it left it on the palace, thank God!) and he was as worried as us with the situation and helped us I'm every way he could to recover it!
My husband and I had a wonderful time on the Versailles bike tour. Arnaud was very knowledgable and fun, a perfect tour guide. It was a good combination of biking, resting and touring. I enjoyed visiting the market to purchase items for our relaxing picnic lunch. Touring the two summer houses was a great lead up to the astounding Versailles. Since we went in early October, it wasn't too crowded and our weather was ideal. I highly recommend this tour as a way of experiencing the wonders of Versailles!
This was our second time on this tour. It is so informative and enjoyable. It was interesting to have another perspective from a different guide.
Our guide was funny and knowledgeable and kept the tour interesting. We explored the ground by bikes which was an easy activity since you are riding in wide not crowded areas which i believe is manageable for all ages. Only the downside is by the end of the tour at 4pm. We were tired. And we still have to visit the highlight of the place, the versailles palace. We had to rush our visit because we were tired of biking and we had to get back to the city for other plans. If your main focus the versailles palace. I wouldn't book the tour unless you have the time and energy to start your visit at 4pm and tour the palace with your own pace.
We had a great experience with Blue Fox. Arnaud was our guide and he was awesome. He was warm and friendly. Additionally, he did a great job describing the history of the palace. He was very helpful. The bike ride was amazing through the gardens and we enjoyed a picnic from the items we selected at the farmers market which included some planned sampling by Arnaud. We were at Versailles the whole day and the views were amazing. The only downside was the palace tour itself which was totally packed and I never want to experience that crowding again. That had nothing to do with our tour but be prepared at the end when the bike tour ends.
What a great experience! Everything about this experience was wonderful and well planned. From train tickets, bikes, market visit, tour and Entrance tickets, everything went extremely well. Our guide, Arnaud was well versed, funny and a did a phenomenal job. I would definitely recommend this tour. biking was easy. We had a child in our group that was probably around 10, and she did great! Thanks for a great tour and experience!!!
Joe was an amazing guide, he had a lot of passion the tour. It was a lovely bike ride and market visit. It was a tiring full day but we loved it.
One of the best small-group day experiences we’ve ever done. 🚲✨ Everything was incredibly well organized, with a wonderful variety of activities throughout the day. I’ve visited the Château de Versailles around 10 times in my life with regular tickets, but experiencing Versailles by bike, stopping for a picnic, and discovering its history through a knowledgeable guide completely transformed the visit. It felt fresh, fun, and much more immersive than a traditional tour. What I especially appreciated was the balance: plenty of shared experiences with the group, but also enough time on our own to explore and enjoy the surroundings without ever feeling socially overwhelmed. A fantastic way to rediscover Versailles, even if you’ve already been many times. 🇫🇷💛
Tour guide Gui was very knowledgeable and funny. Gave lots of information and was helpful
My daughter and I absolutely loved our Versailles bike tour! Everything was perfect from start to finish. The organization was excellent, the meeting point was easy to find, and every detail was very well planned. Our guide, Lena, was amazing — extremely friendly, attentive, and genuinely concerned about everyone in the group. She made the whole experience even more enjoyable and special. We loved every part of the tour and had such a wonderful time together. It was definitely one of the highlights of our trip to France. We highly recommend this experience! Thank you, Lena, for such a memorable day!
An easy mostly flat ride around the extensive grounds at Versailles on 1-speed bikes. Floral gardens tend to be near buildings while outer areas are more pastoral. Final stop is the palace and you are left on your own to explore as you wish. Guide was good and the group wasn’t overly large. They provide a return ticket to Paris and I had a problem exiting on arrival and was fined. But the tour company kindly refunded the fine. I recommend this tour.
The tour guide Arnold was excellent, good information, patiente and kind. The tour was great! I have only one observation: the instruction about the meeting point was confused as it said "at the Garde Saint-Lazzare in frotn of the Starbucks" and it was really at the Starbucks. We thought we missed the tour.
We had a spectacular time on the Versailles Palace bike tour. Antoine, our guide, was a delight. The directions to the meeting point were very clear. Our time at the market was wonderful. We particularly enjoyed the opportunity to try some of the food options before we picked our picnic fare. We all commented that exploring the grounds by bike really enhanced the experience. The timing throughout the day was well executed, we never felt rushed. I think the late afternoon entrance to the palace helped alleviate the crowds. Antoine did a great job of providing us the history needed to fully comprehend the Palace and its historical significance. Highly recommend this tour!
It was a beautiful day and our guide, Jo, was fantastic. He surprised us at every turn with history, stories and songs. The picnic was a perfect way to see the market, eat a delicious meal and spend extra time on the grounds. It was wonderful to bike around the grounds and get the lay of the land. The bike itself was really easy to ride. Our only small criticism was that but the time we got inside the palace we were exhausted! But we powered through and saw part of the palace and the gardens and it was plenty. I highly recommend this tour!
This was an amazing tour, made even better by our guide Tio. The Palace and grounds were nothing short of spectacular. Our guide Tio was fun, and personable managing all the different ages and personalities with charm and charisma. The day out is highly recommended and if you can have Tio as your guide you'll be guaranteed a smoothly run day, with lots of laughs and interesting story telling.
We had a great time! The entire day was lovely and our tour guide was wonderful.
The pick up, pace and length of tour was great. Good combination of guide and individual experience. Great information shared by guide. Mike was great at what he did. You may want to change the description to say that lunch is not included.
This was an excellent tour and one we would highly recommend for anyone wanting an immersive experience in Paris. Our tour guide Alejandro was a true master at pacing this full day excursion in a way that kept moving but without feeling rushed. By the end we all felt his knowledge and stories made us really feel like we knew Paris in a way few tourists get to experience. We loved this tour and would highly recommend it to anyone heading to Paris for a few days but wanting to real feel like they got to see the city. 12 out of 10!
Our guide Lena was terrific. A great day!
Jo was perhaps the best tour guide that we've ever had the pleasure of having lead a tour. The bikes were great, the scenery was amazing, and the picnic on the lawn was a nice touch.
Fantastic experience and very informative. This is our second time with this company and it was so good we took our daughter and her friend this time. Highly recommended.
It is the guide that really makes or breaks these tours, and we were fortunate to have Lena for our guide, she was absolutely fantastic! Honestly, so good at her job--able to talk to anyone and make them feel comfortable and knowledgeable both about the area and history as well as the logistics. She had great recommendations, so helpful, positive and upbeat, my whole family just marveled at her skills! The biking around Versailles and picnic lunch was lovely, one of the best parts of our whole trip. The visits inside the buildings were fairly short and sweet, which was great for us, but if you are really into the history, art, details, etc., then this may not be the tour for you simply because there isn't a ton of time to look at everything. We really enjoyed the tour and would certainly recommend it!
Fabulous tour of Versailles. The best way to experience the palaces and grounds. Our guide Tio was phenomenal.
We loved our tour. Our tour guide Lena (sorry, I'm not sure if I have her name correct) was great. She was entertaining and informative. She made the history come alive with her stories and she answered all our questions. At the end of the tour she had lots of recordations for places to eat and things to do in both Paris and Versailles. I would recommend this tour to everyone.
Wow….what an amazing way to see Versailles! We had the best day….and it was made even more awesome because of our tour guide Lena. What a sweetheart….so personable, funny and knowledgeable. This was a 10/10 experience. Riding the bikes was a great way to see so much of the grounds and the palace gardens were stunning! Highly recommend.
