Itinerary
Meet your guide in central Paris and enjoy a short, escorted train ride to Versailles. On arrival, take a journey in the footsteps of the Kings and Queens of France. During the reign of Louis XIV - the Sun King - Versailles was the place to be and to be seen. Nowadays visitors from all over the world still come to Versailles to marvel at the splendours of this incredible palace. Our skip the line access allows you to bypass the long lines that form each day, and our friendly local guides will steer you expertly through the crowds, bringing the famous figures who once inhabited this palace back to life. Learn how the Kings and Queens lived out their lavish lives in public, how they kept the gossiping courtiers under their thumb, and made Versailles the artistic center of Europe. Discover a typical day in the life of Marie Antoinette; you’ll quickly understand why she hated the palace so much! Her opulent lifestyle here would lead to her tragic demise under the French Revolution.
See the dazzling Hall of Mirrors, and learn the secrets of how it came to be, and the fascinating goings on at the time of the royal court.
After visiting the royal apartments inside the palace, your guide will lead you through the spectacular gardens, once the setting of balls, parties and elaborate firework displays. On fountain show days you will discover the amazing waterworks, still running today as they did in the times of Kings and Queens. The fountains run to a very precise schedule, and your guide will ensure you are in the right places at exactly the right time! At the end of your tour you are free to return to Paris with your guide or to remain in Versailles at your leisure. Your guide will be happy to give you advice on further places to visit or where to enjoy a great meal in this beautiful royal city.

Great tour, really enjoyed it. The palace is a must see. Our guide Byo was great very knowledgable and fun
Versailles is one of those must see locations but everyone knows it and it is very crowded - even in late October. This is where you guide comes into their own. Bayo was funny, charismatic and engaging with lots of stories to tell. He had a real knack for finding spots where we could stand out of the way and listen to him without feeling crowded or rushed. We saw all the high points. There are other areas to explore at Versailles that were not included on our tour but we saw the key rooms and the gardens - we saw enough opulence to last a lifetime. Take a guided tour - the people doing the audio guide all congregate in the same spot adding to the congestion.
The tour was confusing…we started with one guide and after we met the meeting place we were split into two groups. The original guide was loud and clear but our second tour guide was difficult to understand. Once we got to the outside of the palace where there were thousands of people we were then split into 3 groups. It was hard to hear with all the people and once we got inside there were so many people it was hard to follow our guide. Our last guide was very personable and nice but we felt very rushed like we couldn’t stop and admire the things we were interested. We were shuffled from one room to another. If we go again I would opt for a more private tour. There had to be 45 people in our total group…
This was a great tour. The meet up & train trip was easy. Sophie the tour guide was very knowledgeable about the history of the buidings, the kings & queens that lived at Versaille and the art. She had lots of anecdotes & stories about Louis XIV and his successors which made for a very entertaining & interesting tour! Highly recommended.
Our Guide Stan was Phenomenal!!!
The rich history and the stories are absolutely amazing. It can be crowded at times. Be prepared to do a lot of walking.
Our tour guide took her time and explained everything in detail. The palace was amazing!! I would highly recommend this tour!
Great experience. Sarah was very knowledgeable and shared a lot of interesting facts. Made our Versailles visit more fun and interesting. Marina was also very helpful and made us feel welcomed.
Amazing tour and tour guide!!
I must see and visit when coming to Paris. Anthony, our tour guide was very knowledgeable about all aspects of the palace and did a very good job of going over the history of the times very enjoyable
This was a great tour. The train chaperone was great. We had not used the train in Paris so it was very helpful to have someone explain the system to us. We were then able to navigate back from Versailles to a different spot. The tour at Versailles was amazing! Our guide, Paulina was super funny and shared many great stories. When the tour concluded we were allowed to stay and explore the gardens further. Paulina also explained what we could see with our same ticket. The Carriage House is worth a peek.
Seeing Versailles is an absolute must. Beautiful glimpse into the history of France. Our guide Sara was amazing. She really gave us lots of information about Versailles and the royalty that lived there. You can tell she really loves her job.
we have done this tour before and I would say the other time was a bit better, I think it was because our guide was better the first time. I like when the tour guides have extra information to share with an iPad or maps, I felt this guide was sharing information that was not relevant and the visit to the outside gardens was not what I had expected, paying extra for that was not worth it.
We learned a lot and Julie was a great tour guide. She was knowledgeable and funny. It was great to get into the palace quickly as well.
Sophie was amazing ! Very knowledgeable and funny. This tour was well worth the money, especially with the added access to 2 other palaces at our own pace. Thank you !
Initially, this seemed rather expensive, but we wanted to see the palace more than anything else in Paris, so made the booking. We were very impressed with the entire experience, and the guide(s) were fantastic. Very knowledgeable about everything, and I'm a history major with a lot of research into this French period, so I was impressed. Would recommend for sure,
My wife and I really enjoyed our visit. The major issue we had was with walking from the train station to the palace. My wife is recovering from hip replacement and had a difficult time walking to the palace. It would have helped a lot if transportation from the train to the parking lot had been available. Inside the palace she got a wheelchair which was a great help and much appreciated.
We enjoyed our Versailles Palace and Gardens Tour by train from Paris! Our tour guide, Slyvania, was absolutely wonderful! She was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, patient, and professional throughout the entire experience. Unfortunately, our tour encountered a few challenges, including a delayed entry into the palace, which was completely beyond Slyvania’s or the tour operator’s control. Despite these setbacks, Slyvania handled everything with grace, patience, and professionalism, ensuring that our group had the best experience possible under the circumstances. The palace itself was breathtaking, but it was extremely overcrowded, possibly due to the delayed opening. I wish we could have experienced its beauty without such large crowds, as it made it difficult to fully appreciate everything the palace has to offer. However, I certainly don’t fault the tour operator for circumstances outside of their control. The highlight of our experience was definitely the gardens! They were absolutely stunning and, in my opinion, the best part of the entire tour. We thoroughly enjoyed exploring the beautiful grounds and learning about their history. Overall, despite a few hiccups, we had a wonderful experience, largely because of Slyvania’s exceptional service. She truly made the best of a challenging situation, and we appreciated her dedication to ensuring everyone enjoyed the tour. I would absolutely recommend this tour, especially if you’re fortunate enough to have Slyvania as your guide!
I took an October 2026 morning tour. I was running late and missed the normal pickup. I was able to meet up at the Palace Versailles. A nice girl met me at the Louis 14 statue and rushed me up to the tour group getting ready to enter the Palace. I made it just in time! The tour operator helped me over the phone - She called me several times for a status update. The tour girl was excellent - She speaks perfect English. The tour girl really likes the history behind the Palace of Versailles! I will always remember this tour - Some Bad luck and then Some Good luck - The tour was excellent . . . (Try to be on time - (The scheduled train needs to leave)
Berrick, our original lead person to get our group on the train and to the correct line at Versailles, was great! We split from a group of 20 to groups of 10 people at Versailles, which was a wonderful size for staying together. We learned of the many scandals in the castle during the reigns of Louis the 14th-16th. It was very interesting! The gardens were beautiful also.
The small tour is worth every penny! We had Julie and she took great care of us. The queue for people who were not on a tour was ridiculously long but Julie got us right in! Her knowledge and expertise was invaluable. She gives great perspective.
My husband and I had a wonderful time on this tour and our tour guide Pernell (sorry if I mess up the spelling) was very knowledgeable and helpful. She was also very sweet and took her time with us to show us more of the gardens because they were so large. The length of the tour and the price match and you get your moneys worth! I would recommend!
Cecille was informative and entertaining, and Versailles was great. Meeting point was not as convenient as expected.
This was an excellent tour and our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. There were some unforeseen delays and she was able to pivot the order of the tour so we didn’t have to wait in long lines.
Excellent!! The tour guide was exceptional! Knowledgeable, friendly, was exceptional in leading the group through at and guiding the group without rushing the group.
On site tour guide (Matthieu/Matt) was exceptional. Great history, great personality. Both the castle and the gardens were outstanding. Price a little high, however.
Our tour guide Matthew was great! He had very interesting facts to tell us. He also did a good job of helping the group stay together. He also offered options to the group. He was comfortable answering questions from the group.
A lot of walking on cobblestones. Barrack was great guiding us to get there and back. Well organized meeting spot and helpful.
Versailles is bigger than you expect, with more to see than you can possibly see in one visit. A guide is essential to understanding what you are seeing and using your time wisely.
Our guide, Johnny , was great.
Cecile was a wonderful tour guide. She was very informative and entertaining. Getting to the train was somewhat of an ordeal. It was difficult to hear the guide.
Tour guide was fluent enough for us to understand 90% of what he was saying through his VIOXX transmitter. Unfortunately his VIOXX failed and we had to crowd around him to hear what he was saying for the majority of the tour. In the Versailles palace this is almost impossible given the crowds of people and ambient noise levels. Time was wasted waiting for a replacement VIOXX transmitter to arrive which never came. Because of this the tour dragged on past its scheduled completion time when we had to depart the tour to meet our scheduled return transportation. We never got to tour the gardens.
Bereck met us and guided us through the transit to Versailles. He was super friendly and helpful. Lots of good tips for visitors. Our historian guide at Versailles was very knowledgeable and provided an entertaining history with lots of fun facts.
A wonderful tour. Our guide, Marine, was exceptionally well-informed, friendly, courteous and humourous - and still kept everyone organised! Highly recommended
place is amazing and big! guide was incredible, informative and interesting. it was great to just walk around the grounds and see the incredible paintings, landscaping, etc. if you are visiting Paris, it is a must see!
Could not fault our tour of Versailles and the gardens. Lino was a brilliant tour guide - he was very knowledgeable and explained everything in a digestible and engaging way. We learnt so much and would heartily recommend this experience!
The two tour guides that we had ion September 24, 2026 were excellent. Very knowledgeable, polite, helpful and very friendly.
Good experience. Tour was very informational.
Excellent meet up arrangement, then our guide took us through the palace and gave lots of information in a fun and knowledgeable way. Thank you Stan and Beatrice.
The guide was very knowledgeable. It was a good experience. I would recommend Sophia.
Both our guides were friendly, very thorough with explanations, witty, and fun! They made the tour great and easy. I would highly recommend this tour and this company!
Our tour guide (Stan) was funny, knowledgeable and informative. The Palace was very crowded but we were still able to get the full experience.
The palace is very impressive with all the gold and the palace gardens are beautiful to wander around
Berrik and Matthew were both excellent. Berrik was very helpful with transportation to and from Versailles. Matthew provided an excellent guided tour through the chateau. I highly recommend this tour.
Berrick and Julia did a fantastic job for us and our group. Very detailed, and knowledgeable. easy to follow and safe.
Great information and fun tour guide. Note, the tour is three hours NOT including the train ride there and back so plan on at least 4 hours. Versailles is beautiful and full of history but very crowded. Bring water and use the bathrooms when they offer them!
It was an incredible tour. Loved that we had an urban guide to navigate us on the Paris metro and then turned us over to our historian guide at Versailles. Wonderfully informative and organized.
A lovely tour of Versailles made stress free, first by our "shepherd" Barrick who met us at the train station and made sure we met our guide at the site. The guide Noeme, was both professional yet warm, and making an effort to relate to those on our tour. Highly recommend this as the way to see a must visit with limited time.
Beautiful palace. Our guide was very knowledgeable and nice. She was patient with questions and very helpful
