Itinerary
During the drive, enjoy a brief introduction to the history of the château, Louis XIV (the “Sun King”), and the transformation of Versailles from a hunting lodge into a symbol of absolute monarchy.
On arrival, bypass the ticket lines with your fast-track entrance. Inside, follow the audio guide through the palace’s main ceremonial rooms: the King’s Grand Apartments, the Queen’s Apartments, the Royal Chapel (viewed from the gallery), and the spectacular Hall of Mirrors, site of royal ceremonies and the signing of the Treaty of Versailles in 1919. Visit at your own rhythm, focusing on the rooms that interest you most.
