This was a great intro to some of France’s most important women. Our guide Pat was very clear and considerate to our old legs. It was very enjoyable strolling round the Luxembourg and we especially enjoyed learning more about Marie Curie and Simone Weill. Highly recommended
On a very hot afternoon, we did an excellent tour with Pat. She was a very good guide. Interesting subject matter, unflinchingly presented and not your average walking tour at all. Very impressive. The group also appreciated that she was conscientious about keeping us in as much shade as possible and delivering her information while we were seated if it was available. I have done many walking tours and this was one of the best. I look forward to exploring some of the other itineraries on a return trip to Paris. This company is a gem!
We went on a tour with Pat on a sunny Tuesday of April for an English class we are taking in our school. She gave us a lot of delightful and interesting stories about female historian figures, and was very welcoming and cheerful ! We learned a lot about our own country and History, especially since she was able to answer every question we had. Lots of love from the IIM Digital School Students
This was a great tour with a knowledgeable and personable guide and an opportunity to hear how women have shaped Paris through the centuries. I recommend it!
My tout of Great Women in Parisian History was cancelled due to noone else signing up for it... No serious women tourists? C'mon women! I was offered the very fluffly alternative of a Women's Fashion Greats- Really?
Our guide Pat was friendly and knowledgeable. She handled questions as they arose. I definitely learned quite a bit on the tour even though I read a fair amount of history. There were just 5 of us in the group so we could all hear and interact. Highly recommend.
This was my third or fourth time going on a Women of Paris tour while visiting. This time I had my 2 nieces with me and I wanted to share a little bit of history from a female perspective with them. Our guide, Pat, did not disappoint even in the rain!
Super amazing your with Emily! Truly another side of the history you'll hear elsewhere but about women you either don't know or have got mostly wrong. Super informative and made me want to learn so much more about these women. Highly recommend!
My recent tour with Women of Paris Tours was insightful, inspiring, and incredibly well put together. Our guide was knowledgeable, passionate, and brought the stories of remarkable women to life in a way that was both engaging and empowering. I left with a deeper appreciation for Paris and the women who helped shape its history. Highly recommended!
Excellent! We took the tour “Liberté Égalité Marché” tour with lovely Pat. She gave us coffee and snacks so I love her! Fascinating and fun. It’s great to look at history from a feminist angle.
Very knowledgeable guide Pat, well versed in Montmartre which we were able to see from a feminist perspective. This made the walk a really interesting one, Also accommodated our slow walking pace.
This was absolutely incredible. I learned so much from Emily! I will definitely be taking more in the future. Such important history. Well done!
Emily was a great guide tour, very well informed, she mentioned also many fun facts which will live for ever rent free in my mind! I would suggest to everyone this tour!
This tour is packed with vivid examples of the political and cultural history of significant women of Paris, and our guide, Wassily, brought it to life with a terrific presentation—engaging, incisive and passionate. She uncovered the challenges faced by women over the centuries, and how they overcame them, up to the present.
An interesting interactive 2 hour plus walking tour which taught me more about the women of history in Paris. It was mainly around the Luxembourg Gardens, St Germain and Latin Quarter areas.
Just finished this interesting tour and loved it. What a good idea to tell the story of the women who have done great things but often without recognition. Thank you to our lovely guide who found us shelters from the rain along the way and was able to answer our many questions. A mother and daughter.
Fantastic tour! Well informed and approachable! I am a gender historian and was impressed with the knowledge of Pat and the ease of taking complicated history and making it tangible and enjoyable! I would recommend this tour for anyone coming to Paris!
Pat was such a knowledgeable tour guide and told us lots of fantastic information about women throughout history in Paris right up to the present day.
I was with a mother-daughter duo from Germany where the mother told me that she wanted to bring her daughter on this tour to show her all the opportunities that laid before her thanks to the women of the past, to remind the young woman of all her strength not because inequality or oppression no longer exists but that women time after time have overcome them. Thanks to the honest sincerity of our informative and funny guide and the stories she shared, I believe that the 3 of us left with not only the warmth of solidarity but pride.
The guided Tour with Pat was in very nice and understandable English. It was pretty interresting. Although the weather was really hot, the tour was enjoyable and showed a nice conclusion about the women in Paris.
Emily was very knowledgeable about the history of the influential women of Paris and her delivery was great! In all, it was a very worthwhile tour.
Pam our guide was very knowledgeable, enthusiastic about the subject matter. She answered qestions, was patient and my daughter and I loved this tour
Pat was incredibly knowledgeable and a gifted storyteller. I enjoyed the time immensely and wish that she did more! I have been to Paris many times and she introduced me to many aspects of history hidden from my eyes. Thank you, Pat!
Yesterday was a perfect afternoon for Thai tour and Pat our knowledgeable and fun tour guide added to the weather and ambiance of the afternoon. We enjoyed Luxembourg Gardens and all her historical facts and how she presented the stories to us. She was a total pleasure and ending with Madam Curie in the Latin quarter. I loved this tour as unknown history to us. She was a considerate warm storyteller and a pleasure to have experienced this history from her. Thank you also for being a kind person to my sister who had difficulty walking. Best wishes continuing this tour.
Pat was a very knowledgeable guide and we had a very great time with her discovering a bit of the history of Paris through her famous -but sometimes underestimated - women! Thank you for a very good time!
I really enjoyed this. Our guide Pat was knowledgeable, funny and personable and gave us just the right mix of history and entertainment.
A very enjoyable way to spend a morning learning about some of the great women in the history of Paris. Pat was our excellent guide on a lovely relaxed and well paced browse around the 6th arrondissement and Latin Quarter. She was a wealth of knowledge and shared insights into the many interesting and influential women who helped to shape Paris and the world. I would highly recommend booking on this tour as it is fascinating to hear about the rich cultural influence of some very important women.
Pat was very knowledgeable about Women’s history. It poured down rain and Pat was very flexible. Would have liked more 20th century Women’s history
Great tour! Pat was friendly and so knowledgeable. Every place we stopped was so interesting and totally worth the time for your trip to Paris
Emily was an absolutely phenomenal tour guide. We learnt so much, she had a great vibe, and was SO educated. Could not recommend this tour more. Book if you’re interested in learning more about Paris than they teach in the history books.
As a French history enthusiast, this tour filled in the missing parts from the stories: women! Heidi has done her research in putting together this pleasant walk, which shows how each key female figure wielded power in her era. She does a great job of creating connections, both among the tour participants and the historical characters.
Highly recommend this tour! Lovely morning walking tour with our guide Pat. I enjoyed the histories, some names I recognized but mostly the people and stories were new to me. Pat was great guide. She added lots of interesting color and tidbits to the historical figures. Great way to spend a couple of hours.
Emily was wonderful. She answered questions and provided so much information. Things I didn’t know. I really thing you should write a book with all the information you’ve collected. More women need to know the real facts. Our ancestors have been kept in the background not getting acknowledged for the difference they truly made.
This tour was such a special experience in Paris. I absolutely loved all the stories of influential and fearless women we heard - especially those about Simone Veil and her extraordinary life journey and impact on the lives of many women in France as well as much-more-than-the-basic-facts about Marie Curie! Our tour guide Emily was SO wonderful. She created a lovely atmosphere and her humor was just amazing. Also, Emily created a space where we felt free to ask questions, and I did ask many haha, and in the way she answered them, it was clear she is very passionate about the subject. 10/10 recommend!
Our guide Emily was great. Friendly, knowledgeable, funny - it was so much fun. A brilliant way to explore parts of Paris you otherwise wouldn't and loved hearing details of strong women from France's history. We did the Essentials tour so looking forward to delving in to the other stories next time.
Very good experience, perfect guide, interesting! A lots of infos about history of Paris. Amazing stories of poweful women.
My husband and I were on Emily’s Essentials tour on our last day in Paris and I’m so glad we were able to fit it in. We learned about the roles so many influential French women had on the country and the world. Not a spoiler, but while at the pantheon Emily touched on Simone Veil’s contributions to French politics. I hadn’t heard of her before and later, while flipping through movies on the plane home, watched her biopic Simone: The Journey of the Century. Highly recommend watching it. Neither I or my husband, a physician, knew about another critical the role Marie Curie played in the war. Emily was extremely knowledgeable and lovely. We’ve been on many tours in different countries and this tour was the most well thought out and intentional. I couldn’t help think that these tours must be impacting change and was thrilled to know there are historical educational experiences like these that bring into question centuries-old beliefs.
Emily showed us so much about Paris that we would have not otherwise seen! She was engaging, knowledgeable, and responsive to questions. What a fun and enriching experience!
Pat is a great tour guide. We learned a lot about the role of women in Paris. I would highly recommend this tour to my friends.
We had an amaaazing time on the tour! Our guide was incredibly passionate about her work and empowering women, which we found very inspiring. She shared stories about influential women in French history and around the world, some of whom we were familiar with and others who were new to us. It was a pleasant surprise to learn about them. The other participants from different countries were friendly and engaged, making for a fantastic atmosphere. We also got to see some stunning parts of the city. This was by far the best city tour we've ever been on. Participating was enjoyable and a reminder that women deserve more recognition and appreciation, both now and in the past. Thank you for organizing such a wonderful tour!
Heidi was an entertaining and friendly guide. Her informative tour on the lives of a selected group of famous French women in history was both well researched and fascinating as she illustrated their lives with interesting anecdotes. Highly recommended (even for men!)
Pat did a great job touring us through Luxembourg gardens and the Latin quarter filling is with women’s stories
It was great to learn about these women and how they navigated their historical environment. The scenery was great and our guide (Pat) was prepared with visual aids
The walk was very lovely! Our tour guide Pat was so knowledgeable and was very engaging! Would definitely recommend to any student studying French history.
I came with my class! Pat was very knowledgeable and enjoyed talking about what she loves. She was very passionate!
Loved this tour - the guide is super knowledgeable and engaging, highly recommend to anyone who wants a fun way to explore the city and understand its rich history.
A must do for your Paris stay, Heidi was generous with her knowledge about the women of Paris. It’s a great way to learn more about the history you thought you knew! The walking tour was well thought out and tied in nicely with the local monuments.
I’ve done several Women of Paris tours and they are always the highlight of my trips to Paris. Not only are you visiting some of the most beautiful and iconic parts of Paris, but Heidi and her team introduces you to incredible hidden pieces of history that you won’t get on any other tour. As well as being incredibly well researched and totally fascinating (you can tell how much work and love goes into creating these tours), they are super fun! I think it’s the best way to see the city and I would highly recommend this to anyone visiting Paris for the weekend or longer.
Fantastic tour, very knowledgeable guides. A must do if you’re looking for something a bit different from the usual tourist tour guides.
