Great pastry tour by Thomas. He was very personable and took our group (grandma, aunt, and teen) to his favorite pastry shops, and their specialties were delicious! Highly recommend this tour with Thomas!

It was a wonderful experience...to walk-through the side streets & sample the pastries while learning about Paris. Thomas was very friendly & knowledgeable.
This tour was one of the highlights of my family’s trip to Paris. Rachelle is personable and knowledgeable, we had a great time getting to know her and taste some delicious pastries along the way! Truly appreciated the variety of bakeries and pastries Rachelle introduced to us. Two enthusiastic thumbs up for this tour!!!
Livia was knowledgeable of the area and gave us insightful background and history of the Marais area and the food. We had croissants, macarons and several pastries. The croissant was the best we’d ever had!
Rachelle is a pleasure to be around. She probudes a brief history of each lication and a unique selection of wonderful french pastries and desserts. Would definitely repeat and recommend Rachelle.
Rachelle took time to speak with each of our teenagers, making the experience more personal for them. She took us to some amazing places to get food and told us stories about history but also just the culture. This was my favorite part of our trip. Thank you Rachelle!
Rachelle was an AMAZING tour guide. Her English is perfect, she is warm and bubbly and easy going. She let us go at our own pace, was amenable and flexible, but most of all she was very knowledgeable while making it fun! I HIGHLY recommend her for any tour in Paris- it is sure to be a highlight of your trip.
We had the most enjoyable day on our perfect pastry tour with our incredible hostess Rachelle. Rachelle was so friendly and knowledgeable about the art of pastry, the history and background of various specialties as well as the history of her beautiful city Paris. We enjoyed several delicious pastries as strolled through the avant-garde neighborhood of Le Marais. Booking the tour was very user friendly. Rachelle was very flexible and accommodated us very last minute. We really appreciated her easy going demeanor and truly feel we made a new friend.
We loved Rachelle with Withlocals! She was friendly, fun, knowledgeable, gracious, and superengaged with my 12-year-old daughter. She taught us so much about Parisian food and culture, brought us to the coolest places for pastries, and showed us hidden gardens for us to sit and enjoy them, all at a perfect pace. We have already recommended her to friends who are planning to travel to Paris, and will book her again when we go back!
We loved Andrea! He was really flexible about the tour plan. He had a great knowledge of La Marais and it’s history. We filled up on food pretty quickly, so he took us to some of his favorite galleries. That was a treat! We finished with some great French onion soup at a cafe, which was the perfect warm up on a cold day.
Alpha was an amazing guide. She took us to taste the very best pastries in le Marais which also were the best we tasted the entire week of our visit. Alpha was very friendly and very informative about the neighborhood. I highly recommend this tour and this guide.
Alpha was AMAZING! She knew the area, the background/history of the area and pastries and was just all around awesome for our family of 4 (kids 8 and 10) - we loved the tour and the treats!!
Our pastry tour with Alpha was one of the highlights of our trip. She was personable and knowledgeable. We liked her so much that we have recommended her to family who is coming to Paris in Oct.
Rachelle provided such a memorable experience for my two 14 yr old daughters and I! She took us to the most amazing artisan shops for the best treats Paris has to offer. She provided history about the pastries and about Paris itself. She even recommended great spots to shop and eat after our tour. We very much enjoyed our time with Rachelle touring le Marias and I would absolutely recommend her tour to anyone! Such a treat!
Great way to tour the city and try some excellent desserts and pastries! Alpha made the walking tour a lot of fun with her knowledge of Paris. Bring water and walking shoes
We greatly enjoyed our pastry tour with Alpha. She was warm and engaging, knowledgeable and passionate. We had a great time walking through and learning about different neighborhoods in Paris. And best of all, we really enjoyed the pastry stops along the way!! Alpha made sure we had an enjoyable experience. We would definitely recommend Alpha!
Rachelle was the most charming, informative and enthusiastic tour guide me and my family have ever encountered. We took the Pastry Tour. We thoroughly enjoyed the pastry shops, which really felt like we were in hidden gems that only locals would go into. She also gave excellent recommendations for other meals, shopping, etc… I highly, highly recommend Rachelle not only for a pastry tour, but for any other tour that she gives. Don’t look any further than Rachelle for your next tour!
We braved our jet lag and met Alpha for a wonderful afternoon of Parisian treats. We tried crepes, eclairs, fancy cakes, coffee and specialty chocolate all while wandering mostly throughout the 3rd Arr. Alpha was a wonderful guide and she got along great with my young adult daughters and gave them recommendations for fun “young people” spots in our hotel’s neighborhood. She took us to some adorable out of the way spots and areas I had not been to before. A great way to spend a couple hours in Paris!
We are a family of 4 with kids ages 11 & 8.Enjoyed the tour that included yummy pastries as well as very interesting facts about Paris!Rachelle took us to spots that we otherwise won’t find on our own.Highly recommend!
Went on a Bakery tour of Paris our first afternoon there with Alpha. She was friendly, funny, engaging and extremely knowledgeable \u2014 we learned as much about Paris as we did about French pastry!! Highly recommend a tour with her!!!!!
Rachelle was fun and knowledgeable. My kids loved her. Highly recommend to any family looking to have a unique and delicious experience.
Alpha is a fun and knowledgeable Parisian. We had a fantastic time exploring several patisseries of Paris. She also took the time to show us architecture and landmarks. She is easy to talk to and we felt like we knew her well. If feels like we knew her forever. I highly recommend her as a guide.
Our pastry tour with Rachelle was fantastic! Having just landed in Paris that morning, we needed something to get us immersed in the city but not too strenuous given our jet lag. Rachelle’s tour was the perfect fit. Over the course of 2.5 hours we strolled to 4 amazing stores in turn, picking up their specialty (eclairs, macarons, tarts, and meringues), then stopping at different parks in turn to enjoy the pastry while Rachelle shared the history of each location. We ended the tour at a cafe where we chatted and she shared many fantastic recommendations for the rest of our trip. Our tour with Rachelle was the absolute best way to kick off our trip to Paris. I highly recommend this tour, and Rachelle as your guide!!
My son (19) and daughter (13) and I LOVED the experience with Rachelle. She was extremely pleasant and knowledgeable. Absolutely strongly recommend
Our guide was friendly and personable, however, her knowledge, unfortunately from our point of view was general; it did not feel like an "off the beaten path" tour giving us more information that only a local could present. She did take us to a nice macaron shop which was great and better than others in Paris; a Jewish bake shop that specialized in eclairs which we later consumed and found to be "ok", nothing special; but the highlight of this tour was a very nice, long established confectionery shop, Meert, which was very special; a must visit! We did not think the price of the tour was worth what was experienced. After the tour we stayed in the neighborhood on our own and found a great restaurant, Au Bourguignon, and had the best hamburger ever, along with a very good onion soup and cheese platter! The servings were most generous and we would suggest that you consider sharing the entrees.
Guide was engaging and knowledgeable. We had a lot of fun and the pastries were great. Guide had the right mix of walking tour and pastry discussion.
Gelsomina is so amazing! An expert in Pastry and the history around it. It was a total pleasure. We were expertly and effortlessly led and explained more than just sweets. The light rain added to the experience.
This was a lovely experience. Fantastic guide and was wonderful having her helping us try things we wouldn’t have had if we didn’t do the tour. Knocked one star off only because it’s a little bit overpriced and didn’t get a coffee at the end as was described.
This was one of our favourite activities in Paris. We tasted so many great pastries and learnt about the history behind some of the local pastries. Our tour guide, Anukool, was an absolute pleasure to be with. He ensured we got the best tastings possible whilst strolling through Paris.
A fantastic tour with Anukool. We tasted some very nice pastries and got a good overview of historic Paris. A must-do activity in Paris.
Nice selection of different pastries. Guide was very friendly and we enjoyed spending a few hours with him.
Wonderful tour of Marais with a charming and knowledgeable guide. Gelsomina took us to five different artison pâtisseries to try some unique and delicious creations. Our favorites were the passion fruit eclair and the bergamot macarons. She gave us background and insights about each stop and also shared information about the Marais and French food culture. Very enjoyable and we highly recommend!
We had a fantastic morning with Isabel and tried so many delicious things. Tour took 2.5 hours, we had meringues (not sure if the official name), coffee, crêpes, eclairs, traditional fruit jellies and homemade marshmallow. Highly recommend.
Isabel was a wonderful tour guide to the neighborhood. We met at the specified time of the tour and Isabel had perfectly planned out our schedule. Even when one of the pastry shops happened to be closed, she was cool and had a backup available. We saw not just the sweet shops and patisseries, but also cafes, public parks, and different sights around the neighborhood. Isabel was incredibly intelligent — she knew an incredible amount about Le Marias — and was friendly to chat with.
Rachelle was a wonderful guide, great with our kids (11- & 14-year-olds), and lovely to chat with. She provided a great tour that included crêpes, éclairs, and other sweets, with parks along the way to sit down and enjoy bits of history. She even pointed out cafés and take-out food options that my family returned to later on our own. The four of us had a wonderful time!
This was a highlight of my wife and I's trip to Paris. Rachelle was so personable and so much fun. The stops were amazing - pastries were incredible. Along the way we learned all about the neighborhood and what it is like to live in Paris. I highly suggest doing this early in your trip to get tips on what to do during your stay in Paris and also to schedule more time with Rachelle. We highly, highly recommend!
Rachelle was an excellent guide through the streets of the Marais to some of the most delicious and beautiful pastries and treats we have ever had. She filled our minds with interesting information, our mouths with taste sensations and our eyes with the history and architecture.
As anyone knows who has been to Paris, there is a bakery or two on every street. But this tour pointed out the best of the best. From a perfect crêpe, an eclair, a holiday buche, and more, every pastry was absolutely delicious. Our tour guide, Emilie, Was extremely knowledgeable about the Le Marais area, and was lovely. She was flexible and we had a great time!
Isabel was so sweet and full of knowledge. Not only patisserie did she show us but she also combined it with history, architecture, culture and other 'not important' but crucial details that made the tour realy perfect. And the patisserie was. .. just accurate and delightful. Thank you Isabel !!!!
I really can't remember how I found 'withlocals' tour excursions. In saying that I will now ALWAYS continue to use this site when I travel Europe!! I booked this last minute and then it started to rain and Voila' it stopped raining and our BEAUTIFUL journey began. We LOVE SUGAR, andRachelle exploded our tastes buds with exquisite pastries. I had know idea we would get a tour Marais. This little spot in Paris was divine. Not only did we eat Pastries, Rachelle pointed out Guerlain perfume store where you could make custom perfume, loads of beautiful shops, restuarant tips, neat little history tidbits andbeautiful gardens where ate out sinful pleasures!! My only REGRET, I wish I would have discovered this on our first day in Paris instead of our last!!! Thank you Rachelle for making this the HIGHLIGHT of our trip!!! Cheryl and Lou Edmonton, Canada
We booked the French Pastry tour in Les Marais and couldn't have had a better experience.Zoltan was knowledgeable, interested and fun.He showed us the best places for delicious patisseries, falafel, macarons and chocolates. We were absolutely stuffed by the end of it.It was definitely one of the highlights of our Paris trip - thanks Zoltan!
If all you want is for someone to lead you around to pastry shops and tell what pastries you are allowed to choose there, this is the tour for you. If you instead want lots of information about the various pastries, their histories and social significance in France, along with anecdotes about them, you will be sorely disappointed. You will not be treated to a "behind the scenes" explanation of how pastries are made! Also, although the advertising says that this is a 2 and 1/2 hour tour, be prepared to be told by your guide that it will only take an hour to complete. (It would be nice to have been told this ahead of time, since you could make other plans for the "missing" 1 1/2 hours!) Also, on checking the advertising after the tour to make sure that it really was supposed to be a 2 1/2 hour, I found that we were also supposed to have been treated to coffee. It didn't happen! Of the many tours I have taken in France, this is by far the worst. It is also a bit of a rip off. Spend your time and money elsewhere!
Emma was amazing! She was knowledgeable and kind. I made a mistake in our booking and she was wonderful about helping us fix it. We couldn't thank her enough! And the pastries she selected really were fabulous. The pics in this review are from just one of the bakeries! Delicious works of art! Emma was also sweet enough to check on us later in the day and said to let her know if we had any questions. If we get back to Paris we want to do the hidden passages tour with her, too. Thank you again, Emma!
Christof was a wonderful guide - interesting, knowledgeable about the Marais and architecture, and fun. He took us to yummy places, very special. I admit that we got very full towards the end!!! But no complaints! Highly recommended. Thanks Christof, we enjoyed your company
Wow! What a fun experience this was! My sister went to culinary school for pastries and we thought it would be fun to try the best in the world! Rachelle did not let us down! She was very informative on where to get the best and most enjoyable treats. As we sat in lovely gardens she had us take a mental note of every first bite of goodness while she would tell the history of the pastries and of the surrounding area. She also gave some great recommendations on what to do the rest of our time in this wonderful city. We LOVED everything about this experience and highly recommend Rachelle as she is knowledgeable, friendly and excited to share these experiences with newcomers.
What a great tour! She led it so well we thought it took more than the 2 hours allotted. Rachelle was kind and helpful and gave us recommendations we used for the rest of our time in Paris. Since she has lived in Paris for four years she knows the owners of the bakeries that we went into. They even gave her free pastries! Don't think twice, book with Rachelle!
Was a fun thing to do with my 11 year old daughter. We got the chance to spend a couple of hours with Rachelle who was lovely and very knowledgeable not only about Paris but the history of the cakes, especially the Macaroon. Loved the concept of this company and would highly recommend Rachelle, hopefully next time for the princess tour
Not only was this the best purchase I made it really was enjoyable it wasn't awkward one bit I had a blast found out some new places to come and try and got the best recommendations she's absolutely the best I wish our tour was longer she really made me fall in love with Paris Hands down the best tour I'm going to be recommending her to everyone I know
We had a blast. Zoltan is an amazing guide. We enjoyed tasting Parisian patisserie and receiving explanations from him. Thank you Zoltan From sarit moshe and Rotem
1) Oh La La Parisian Pastry Tour 2018.11.24 with Zoltan and 2) Local Market Food Tour 2018.11.25 with Zoltan. I (Our group) HIGHLY recommend Zoltan and here's why. 1) PATIENCE. He could have left us or even cancelled because we where late due to one being sick then the bus that should have taken us stopped. 2) CONSIDERATE. He adjusted to our "slowliness" of walking. 3) CATERED. He asked what we would like. Normally on food tours you are told that this is what you will have, with him, it's "what would you like to get?" after explaining what it is. 4) KNOWLEDGEABLE. Of food, places, anecdotes and what locals do. 5) SHARES. He share information outside "food" tour such as the how to, where to, when to go for things we like to see, get, or just interest us. 6) AMBASSADOR. Because he made an impression on me (and my group) we booked him again. I am also considering WithLocals when I go to Barcelona and Prague next year. AND as promised , our group will welcome you when you visit our city next time you visit USA and have home cooked Southern food ready for you! Thank you for giving "life" 🙂 to this tour, Aurolyn (the one that had the man kneel on the street just to take our picture), Danita ("no oyster for me!"), Katrina (Held the precious bread) and Kim (Loves Oyster)
