Have used Liv Tours in London and used them to book a few in Paris. Always have the best tour guides that know their subject. Laurent was about guide at the Louve and was knowledgeable about the museum and highlights we saw. The museum is huge which is why we chose a small Tour to see the highlights. The only issue we had was the Louve had an unexpected delayed opening due to strike.

Itinerary
With a collection of over 35,000 works on display, Paris' Louvre is the largest, most influential, and most visited art museum in the world. Although it's impossible to do the Louvre justice in just one day, we will grant you access to all of the highlights. From marvelous Greek sculptures like Venus de Milo to dramatic Delacroix paintings, your guide will take you to all of the Louvre's most inspiring masterpieces. Begin by meeting your guide under the statue of Louis XIV in front of the famous glass pyramid, and learn all about the history of this building before it became the museum we know and love today.
Your Louvre Museum Tour will take you to all of the most iconic paintings and sculptures housed in two of this massive museum's three wings. Your guide will highlight the most influential works from a wide range of periods including Ancient Greece, Ancient Egypt, the Renaissance, Neoclassicism and Romanticism. In the Ancient Egypt collections, take a close look at the sleek granite Great Sphinx of Tanis, considered to be the biggest and best-preserved in any Western museum. Explore two of Ancient Greece's globally recognizable sculptures - the armless Venus de Milo and the headless Winged Victory of Samothrace, universally considered some of the best-surviving original Hellenistic sculptures. See Paolo Veronese's Wedding Feast of Cana, JacquesLouis David's Coronation of Napoleon, Théodore Géricault's Raft of Medusa, and more. And of course, the Mons Lisa! Of all the thousands of paintings housed in the Louvre, Da Vinci's Mona Lisa remains its most popular and enigmatic work.

Louis ; Thank you for an outstanding tour of the Louvre. Your knowledge, enthusiasm, and storytelling brought the art and history to life, making our visit truly memorable. We appreciated your passion and expertise.
The tour was excellent. Ife was a fantastic guide and made sure I got to see everything I had hoped to see. I really enjoyed the tour and learned a lot along the way. Thank you very much, Ife, for making my visit to the Louvre such a memorable experience!
Laurent was a wonderful guide! He was so knowledgeable and friendly. He made the experience really enjoyable and we learned a lot. Thank you Laurent!
Great experience overall. Luis told us many insightful stories and clearly explained the idea behind each artwork. Highly recommended
Ife was an amazing guide! He helped navigate the crowds and made entering easier. Appreciated the information on some of the individual pieces of art. Highly recommend this option as a way to explore some of the highlights of the Louvre.
Our guide was a wonderful story teller. Soft spoken. Full of so much history. Enjoyed the museum with him
Sara was wonderful, informative, funny, patient and made our visit a great experience.
My lifelong dream was to visit the Louvre. So, for our 25th Wedding Anniversary we made it happen. Adam was extremely knowledgeable and gave us a lot of little known facts about the pieces. These insider details completely changed our perspective on each piece. The meeting place was very easy to understand and find as well. We definitely had the best experience because of the expertise and knowledge of our amazing guide Adam. Skipping all lines definitely helped us to utilize our time there. It is a MUST to have a tour guide when visiting the Louvre. Do not attempt it on your own. You will spend most of the day waiting in line, otherwise.
Renee was an excellent guide, very friendly and knowledgeable about the museum and it's collections and art history and history in general. He gave us a wonderful tour and recommended additional places to explore at the Louvre as you could spend days there.
Sara with Liv Tours was the perfect guide for an early morning tour of the Louvre. She was very knowledgeable and a pleasure to spend time with. Being first to enter changes the experience and allows time to see things without crowds. Highly recommend!!
My tour of the Louvre with Joanna Bagnolini was unforgettable. From the moment we began, she crafted a narrative that tied together the museum’s vast collection in a way that felt cohesive and meaningful. She pointed out details I would have never noticed on my own, explained artistic techniques with clarity, and shared historical context that enriched every piece. Joanna’s expertise and enthusiasm transformed the Louvre from a massive museum into a guided journey through time. I would absolutely book with her again.
The Louvre is not climate controlled so be prepared to manage walking/standing for 2-1/2 hours (there are seats along the galleries to take a walk break.) If you are sensitive to heat and crowds, this may not prove to be an enjoyable activity. Our personal tour guide, Nazil, was super knowledgeable and very accommodating. I am quite appreciative she graciously guided us through the myriad of galleries and artifacts.
This tour was a highlight of our week in Paris. Laurent was kind, patient, and caring. Above all, he was brilliant. He taught us so much more than we could have ever gleaned from merely looking at the exhibits. The small group setting created a family-like unit, and under Laurent’s guidance, we all left the Lourve in absolute awe of what we had just seen.
Anais was our tour guide. She had great history behind the pieces. Very detailed history. Wish we could have seen more with a bit less detail of each item with the time we had her. Very friendly.
Our tour guide Kasia was knowledgable and fun, with interesting backstories on the art we saw. We really enjoyed her tour.
Laurent was a great guide for our family’s first trip to the Louvre. We saw the best works from each area and know where we’d love to spend more time on our next visit to Paris.
He was very nice and thought a lot about the art and the history. I definitely recommend.
Adam was great! Extremely knowledgeable and funny.
Nancy was amazing! Very knowledgable and fun to have as a guide!
This tour focused on the history and creativity of the artistic sculptures and paintings. Excellent information delivered as quickly as possible.
Elena was fantastic in every way …engaging and knowledgeable. Taking a small group tour is the way to go! She did an awesome tour.
The Louvre tour with our guide, Diane, was outstanding. She was incredibly knowledgeable and knew all the ins and outs to maximize our time, ensuring we hit the highlights on our list. Her personalized approach, clear directions, and friendly demeanor made the experience smooth and enjoyable. Highly recommend for anyone looking to get the most from their Louvre visit. Thank you, Diane!
Wonderful very informative experience guide Laurant was kind kept a good pace.
Wonderful overview of the three ladies of the Louvre, with information about everything we saw along the way
Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and entertaining! She made sure that the 6 of us saw the most important works of art in the Louvre within our two hour semi private tour! Everything from the medieval beginnings of the Louvre discovered 150 years ago to statues from the Greek and Roman periods. And of course, the most important paintings. My husband and I were very happy with the tour!
Sara was absolutely incredible! She is extremely knowledgeable and kept it fun the entire time. The 2.5 hour tour flew by! We would love to go back to see more of the Louvre with her the next time we visit Paris! She made a massive museum feel really digestible and she was super sweet.
Grigor was funny, engaging, and incredibly knowledgeable—he made our Versailles tour truly memorable.
Our Trip Advisor small group tour of the Louvre was excellent !! The museum is massive , and our guide knowledgeable guide showed us all of the highlights . Most importantly , we had an audio earpiece to easily and clearly hear her explanation of the various exhibits … Our guide explained that she has done @ 1,000 tours of the Louvre , and her enthusiasm was evident …
Our tour of the Louvre with Anatole was fantastic. He was extremely knowledgeable and brought the artwork and history to life in a way we never could have experienced on our own. The Louvre is so large that it would be easy to miss so much, but Anatole guided us efficiently and helped us see incredible pieces we never would have found ourselves. I learned so much and was able to truly enjoy the artwork instead of feeling overwhelmed. Highly recommend this tour!
Diane is very knowledgable and knows the best way to be efficient at the louvre. Great insights and commentary on all the places we stopped and she made great recommendations to continue exploring after our tour. We wish we had more time to explore with her.
Our tour guide Ana was informative and kind. We toured at a low volume time so were given extra attention. She was clear and considering, asked for feedback about what particularly interested us and shaped our experience to match.
Meng was absolutely amazing all of us ladies agree with this 5 star rating! Absolutely spectacular knowledge and I formation. She is a wealth of knowledge and we lived the tour!! Thank you. The Schiffler girls!
This was the second time I've done this tour, and it was just as good as the first time. Nazli was an exceptional host, putting our small group first in making sure we had the best vantage points. She was informative, provided a unique perspective, and added a sense of humour. Recommended!
Thank you Ramona! We had add a great time and learned a great deal! The tour was excellent and the perfect length of time. It was great to see the Mona Lisa prior to the incredible crowd that followed.
The tour was fantastic and very informative! We felt as though we were with an art professor! We covered the major highlights.
Daniel was great. So knowledgeable about the history of the museum and all of the beautiful pieces inside. He was able to show us some of the most important pieces and some lesser discussed works that were remarkable. He was great and I recommend this tour highly!
We toured the Louvre with Daniel and, boy, did the tour deliver as promised for a Mona Lisa first viewing. We were perhaps 15-20 people back in line awaiting the Louvre opening. Then, Daniel took us on an exciting hustle through security and directly to the Mona Lisa. He knew the most efficient route because our family was the very first to view it and we remained alone with the portrait for a minute or two which allowed the opportunity to appreciate it in silence as well as to take some great photos. Daniel continued our tour highlighting some of the most noteworthy art pieces at the Louvre and was very informative with an entertaining delivery. Wonderful experience!
Our group of four totally fell in love with The Louvre and with the wonderful Nancy! She was so welcoming and friendly. The time of our tour was changed to the afternoon due to an impending strike in France but it all worked out for the best. Even Nancy was very surprised at how "not crowded" the museum was. She shared her knowledge of the building, the art, the sculptures...and everything else. She answered our questions thoroughly and gave detailed descriptions of all of the beautiful and rare pieces we were seeing. We will definitely use LIV Tours in the future and will not hesitate to recommend you all to our friends. Thank you for being easy to communicate with and always available when we needed you. We had the most wonderful private tour of the Louvre with Meng. From the very start, she gave us a clear overview of how the museum is organized by timeline and era, which made navigating such a massive space feel approachable. Her plan for the tour helped us see key works from major periods, and her depth of knowledge in art history was simply phenomenal. Meng brought the art and the history of the Louvre to life in such a thoughtful and engaging way. Her dry wit was an unexpected treat that we sincerely appreciated, making the experience not only educational but also so enjoyable. We truly had no idea how incredible this tour would be, and we know it was because of her. We would happily do it all over again if given the chance. Highly recommend Meng for anyone visiting the Louvre!
Anais was a star tour guide. She curated our visit to the important and interesting exhibits and made the most of our time. She provided wonderful insight. A+
We were fortunate enough to end up with a private tour (just my husband and I) as no one else had booked for the 10:30am time slot (Louvre Museum). Having Kasia as our tour guide made our museum tour a breeze as she knew her way around - showing us all the highlights so as not to waste time looking for the most popular masterpieces. She looked after us very well. We highly recommend her and you will not regret. She was a competent tour guide.
Anatole was the best guide we could have asked for. The way he was able to explain the significance of so many small details really put into perspective why the works of art are masterpieces. Without Anatole guiding and teaching us we would have only appreciated / understood maybe 10% of what we saw otherwise.
Our guide was very knowledgeable of the Louvre and focused on specific works of art. After the tour ends your ticket allows you to stay until closing. Great introduction to the Louvre.
Fantastic tour. Well paced, very interesting and informative. Guide covered all the highlights. We really enjoyed ourselves.
Julie is very knowledgeable and a great guide. We enjoyed our time with her and highly recommend her.
Loved our guide, Claire! Nice approachable style. Great pace. Loved the earpiece that allowed us to hear the commentary over the noise of others in the area. With the small group it was easy to see our guide and we didn’t have to be continually looking for stragglers. Claire engaged well with all members of our group and explained topics in an interesting manner…without being condescending that some of us didn’t know our French history. Slight British accent but easily understood. Loved the tour and the guide. Thanks!
I highly recommend LivTours. Our guide, Diane, was excellent! Very professional, knowledgeable, engaging, and friendly. We each had earpieces and she had a microphone, so we could hear her explanations without the need for her yelling. We saw the highlights of the Louvre, including early viewing of the Mona Lisa (without the tourist crowds), Winged Victory, Venus De Milo, Apollo Gallery, and other famous works of art. Some other tourists (not part of our tour group) were trying to bother her with questions about some paintings, but Diane impressively refused their request -- stating that she was only focused on her own group. After the formal tour, we were left to roam the Louvre at our leisure. Highly recommended!
Ramona Was absolutely delightful and so knowledgeable. I learned so much during this tour. Ramona Made sure she made the tour kid friendly and they loved it. I truly recommend Ramona. We enjoyed the experience
We had the best experience with Nazli at the Lourve. She was so kind, animated and knowledgeable. She was particularly good with our children. She engaged with them so well. Couldn’t not recommend her as a guide more.
