Itinerary
The Eiffel Tower has been built by French engineer Gustave Eiffel, for the 1889 Universal Exhibition in Paris. This magnificent technical feat was achieved in a mere two years, two months and five days. It stands 324 metres tall, and the metal structure weighs 7,300 tonnes. Parisians were scandalised by its metallic look and height. It was built to last 20 years. A radio antenna was added to the top in 1903, saving the tower from demolition. It has now become the monument symbolic of Paris.
The new Russian Orthodox church is known as the Holy Trinity Cathedral. The centre houses a bilingual Franco-Russian school, a parish house, and a cultural centre.
The American Church in Paris with its green clock-tower is the first american church built outside of the US, in 1931. The stained-glass windows by Louis Comfort Tiffany have been listed as a historic monument.
The Hotel des Invalides was built to the orders of Louis XIV as a military hospital for injured soldiers and officers. Today, the royal chapel houses the tomb of France’s first Emperor, Napoleon I.
Pont Alexandre III was built for the 1900 Universal Exhibition and to seal the Franco-Russian Alliance. Its central feature is the Paris coat of arms covered in gold leaf and two nymphs symbolising the river Seine. On the other side of the bridge, you’ll see the arms of Saint Petersburg, and two nymphs symbolising the river Neva.
Pont de la Concorde was built using stones from the former Bastille prison after it was famously stormed during the French Revolution in 1789. It leads to the Palais Bourbon on your right, seat of the National Assembly, and to your left to the Place de la Concorde.
Discover the green dome of the Hotel de Salm which became the Légion d'honneur Palace under Napoleon I. The Légion d’honneur is the highest French honour.
The former Orsay railway station has been built for the 1900 Universal Exhibition in Paris, had a railway line leading to the south-west of France. It was turned into a museum in the 1980s to house 19th-century art, including works by the greatest Impressionists and Post-Impressionists such as Auguste Renoir, Claude Monet and Vincent Van Gogh.
The Institut de France, former Collège des Quatre Nations, was built using funds bequeathed by cardinal Mazarin in 1661. It houses five academies, the most famous being the Académie Française. Its members’ job is to contribute to the French language, updating and modifying the official French dictionary.
The Pont Neuf, or New Bridge is actually the oldest bridge in Paris. It was the first Parisian bridge to be built in stone with pavements rather than houses lining it. It features 381 grimacing stone masks, all individually decorated and unique.
Pont Saint-Michel has been built at the request of Napoleon III, hence the two imperial Ns on its pillars. To the right, it leads to the Latin Quarter, so called because students at the University of Paris there spoke Latin until the 19th century.
Ile de la Cité, the presumed birthplace of Paris, is one of the two natural islands in Paris. The Parisii tribe first settled here 300 years before the Common Era, calling the island Lutetia.
Paris’s Gothic masterpiece, Notre-Dame Cathedral' construction started in 1163 and was completed nearly two centuries later, in 1345. The cathedral features a host of gargoyles and sculptures. The south rose window, called the Rose du Midi, is dedicated to the New Testament and was a gift from the French king, Saint Louis.
The statue of Saint Genevieve, patron saint of Paris, with her back to us was sculpted by Paul Landowski, who later sculpted the Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro.
The Arab World Institute has been inaugurated in 1987 by president François Mitterrand. The cultural centre focuses on history, art, society, religions and science in the Arab world.
Featuring former town houses dating from the 17th century, like the Hotel Lambert and the Hotel Lauzun, Ile Saint Louis is one of the most prestigious areas of Paris. Many celebrities have lived there, including Charles Baudelaire and Georges Moustaki.
Since 1357, the Hotel de Ville de Paris, has been the seat of the Paris City Council. The construction draws much inspiration from Neo-Renaissance style. It is open to visitors, you can visit the banquet hall, designed to the template of the Hall of Mirrors in Versailles.
The Conciergerie built under Philip IV, known as “the Fair”, in the 14th century, was later turned into a prison. Queen Marie-Antoinette spent the last two months of her life there, before being guillotined at the Place de la Concorde in 1793.
The Louvre used to be a royal palace. It was turned into a museum in 1793. It is the largest monument in Paris with over four kilometres of façades and nearly 14 kilometres of galleries. The Louvre is the most visited museum in the world, exhibiting 38,000 works, including the Winged Victory of Samothrace, the Venus de Milo and of course the Mona Lisa.
The place de la Concorde was where King Louis XVI and his wife Queen Marie-Antoinette were executed during the French Revolution. The central feature is an obelisk from Luxor in Egypt. It is 34 centuries old and was brought to France in 1836.
Built for the 1900 Universal Exhibition in Paris, the Grand Palais on your right is a great feat of architecture. Its glass roof is considered to be the largest in Europe. It has now become a venue for cultural events and exhibitions, a funfair and the largest skating rink in Europe.
The Flame of Liberty was a gift from the United States and the newspaper, the International Herald Tribune, to France, as thanks for restoring the Statue of Liberty. The sculpture is an exact reproduction of the Statue of Liberty’s flame in New York.
The Palais de Chaillot is located on the place du Trocadero. Built in 1937 for the Universal Exhibition, it comprises two Neoclassical pavilions, flanking an esplanade that overlooks the Trocadero gardens. It houses the City of Architecture and Heritage, the National Navy Museum, the Museum of Humankind, and the National Theatre of Chaillot.

A great way to spend an hour on a fabulous sunny October day. Easy to find, with a couple of options for a drink or snack whilst waiting. Boarding was quick, and plenty of seating was on the top deck or inside. The guide was great, with commentary in both French and English. We had an idiot behind us who was doing a video call through the whole journey, but that wasn’t the fault of the operator. Highly recommend, super value.
Great cruise . Having a live guide makes all the difference and it’s in both English and French . Super way to take in most of the big sites and learn about this wonderful city
A must in Paris! Perfect way to see the city from a different view.
Such a lovely tour. The meeting point was easy to find. The guide was very informative e and did a great job speaking in French and English.
Everything as promised - easy process to buy tickets, convenient location, great tour and guide, good value.
It was a beautiful day , a great tour with a wonderful tour guide . Easy to get to . Highly recommend
Scenic and guided cruise on the Seine. Spacious and comfortable ride. Food and beverages available for purchase. Staff was very kind and helpful. Highly recommend this lovely way to see Paris.
Really fun couple of hours - learned a lot about the attractions of Paris, the history. Fantastic and informative guide.
This is a scam vendor. The English translation is hardly four or five words for one full minute of French narration, and they advertise incorrectly or falsely as English translation available. Also, when I reported this review on Airbnb, this vendor was clever to report it to Airbnb and take down negative reviews. This is not ethical business. The audio quality was also not good inside the boat.
The boat ride was very well organized. Everything was perfect. Plenty seating on top deck, good sound system, and an amazing guide who entertained and educated us in fluent English and French. A great experience with very interesting historical tidbits and suggestions of things to see afterward. Loved it!
We had a great time. Our guide did the tour in English and French, and spoke perfect English. He described all the landmarks we were passing. He included interesting facts we did not know about. He took questions and was very friendly. This was a well needed break from all the walking we were doing. Great value for the price.
Beautiful experience and not boring at all Would have been nice to no the snack box is not actually on boat so had to wait till the end
Very enjoyable cruise on the Seine. We did this at the beginning of our trip to Paris and it was a great way to see the sights from the river and get an overall perspective of where the major attractions were located. The guide was helpful in pointing out and describing the points of interest. Highly recommend this boat tour.
Incredible tour guide . Great way to understand the city and the incredible history of the city. Thank you
It was a good thing to do to get acclimated to Paris. The stories the commentator told were very good and historical and entertaining.
This was a nice river cruise. Our weather was perfect, so that helped. The pick up area is just a little tricky to find, so plan to arrive early. It's a nice was to see Psris from a different perspective. You get a fabulous view of the Eiffel Tower on the tour.
Nice trip to Greenwich. I am an American and thought this narration would be in English. It was split English/french. It was not a very good narration and would have preferred only English. Did not get my information from the trip. The narrator was also located mid ship, not up in front so when her referenced sites we could never figure out where they were.
What a great hour trip on the Seine! It was easy to find and the boat had good seating - some in the shade and some in the sun. The tour guide spoke in French and English pointing out all of the famous sights and facts. You could download an app to hear in other languages too. There was a bar and toilet on board but we didn’t use them. A really great trip! I would recommend to a friend!
A fantastic one hour boat trip up the Seine on a quiet electric boat. The guide was knowledgeable and amusing and encouraged some audience participation.
Easy to book and good information to make it simple to find. The cruise was beautiful and hit on a lot of highlights along the river in Paris.
The guide was very knowledgeable. Unfortunately a group of women were very noisy and often drowned out the guide.
Once you have made your booking, on the day you would make your way to the operators that are facilitating the river cruise. Make a note of the address from your confirmation e-mail (we Google-mapped the location, just to be on the safe side). Everyone seemed friendly and helpful, and answered any queries we had. On the boat, we could sit wherever we chose. The guide introduced themselves in French and also English. This was the process throughout the trip - the guide was clear, informative about the historical aspects of the buildings/monuments, and he seemed to know his stuff! He was humorous at times and the whole hour went steadily. My 2 daughters (24 and 16) were kept entertained and found the whole time very interesting.
It was a very nice relaxing way to see some historic spots in Paris and hear some backstory on them.
Our daughter booked this same Cruise last year and advised me to do the same this year. She learned so much and said it was amazing. She accompanied me on this one and we were so disappointed. Her guide talked nonstop while our guide spoke maybe 20min the entire cruise. She stopped midway for a break. It’s an hour cruise!! She missed so many highlights of the tour that my daughter had to explain to us. And she spoke after we passed half the major points. Barely spoke anything bout the Lovre. Did not point out Notre Dame at all-just missed so many important facts. After our daughter filled us in on everything we missed, I’m very disappointed in our guide.
Great experience on final day. Very comfortable ride. Paris is beautiful to view from the river
Brilliant boat trip, well worth doing and the guide (Anton?) was really informative. Much better information than the bus tours
Thank you so much for such a wonderful experience! Taking the Eiffel Tower Seine cruise was the absolute perfect, relaxing way for our family to welcome Paris after our long flights from Boston and Orlando. It was especially wonderful for your auntie after her knee surgery recovery; she truly loved taking in all the beautiful, historic landmarks together. Creating those special memories is truly what it's all about! We loved the great value of the cruise tickets, and it is definitely a must-do first thing after a long flight to the beautiful city of love—Paris! Blessings always, Gail, Viannah, Sunti & Auntie
Great experience, all the staff on board were extremely friendly and helpful. The tour guide was fantastic explaining everything in French and English. There’s a small bar on board and a toilet.
An enjoyable cruise down the river - a great way to see lots of the sites. Only grumble was it wasn’t easy to hear the guide - but otherwise recommend.
The guide was excellent. She spoke. In French, and in English, teaching us the story of all the places and monuments we passed during the cruise. I learned a lot. Thank you very much for an unforgettable and fun outing.🥰❤️💕🇫🇷
Directions for the meeting point were straightforward. The employees were energetic and helpful. The boat did not have a/c so luckily we went when there was no heat wave. Saw all of the highlights along the Seine and the guide spoke in French and English. Great value no matter how many times you have visited Paris.
This was a nice cruise on the Seine. It’s perfect if you’re looking for relaxing views of Paris. It is difficult to hear the speaker due to the large number of people on the boat.
Great experience if sit up top on a warm day it can get hot for a little bit, but it’s worth it for the views.
The boat trip was nice and the guide was good.
Amazing experience!! The staff is super friendly and the tour guide is very knowledgeable. I 100% recommend for all families to enjoy this cruise
This is a wonderful experience. Our guide was very knowledgeable and kind. The weather was great too! Not too hot.
It was really amazing! Exceeded my expectations! The tour guide was very professional and knowledgeable! Great experience! Worth the money spent!
The ship is crowded, kids are screaming and you cannot hear the guide unless you go outside and stand near her. The sights are okay, however, just think of it as a crowded, noisy ride.
Nice cruise down the river to see the sights from a different view. It was nice and relaxing. The commentary was a bit overwhelming being in multiple languages.
Nice view of Paris from the Seine River, tour guide was excellent, accounting English and French, she had a good save of humor making for a fantastic trip
Highly recommend this experience. Directions to the boat are clear and easy. Beautiful guided boat ride on the Seine. Très bien!
We enjoyed the 1hr cruise with Vedettes de Paris on June 30. It was a very busy day and we arrived too close to our scheduled departure time of 17h45 to be able to join that cruise as it was already full, so we waited and joined the cruise departing at 18h30. Since we did not have set plans for the evening this was not a problem but would advise those on a tight schedule to arrive at least 15 - 20 mins before departure to avoid this. The cruise was very pleasant but there was no guide, instead music was played throughout the cruise. Since we had heard that the Vedettes de Paris guides were very informative, some in our family group were disappointed but others enjoyed the more serene voyage with music. Either way, we would have appreciated some notification or announcement being made to inform everyone that there would be no guide on this sailing.
Overall, the Seine River cruise was just okay. While it's a relaxing way to spend some time, I honestly found that it was difficult to get good views from most areas of the boat unless you managed to get a prime spot early. In many cases, the views of Paris were actually better while simply walking around the city. One thing to know is that if you purchase the champagne option, you'll still have to wait in line at the onboard bar to get it, which took away from the experience a bit. If you have extra time in your itinerary, it's not a bad activity to do. However, if you're trying to decide between the cruise and other attractions or experiences in Paris, I'd recommend choosing those instead. Paris is best experienced on foot, and I personally enjoyed exploring the city's streets and viewpoints much more than the cruise.
We really liked it, an amazing way to see a good portion of the city. The guide was very nice and the drink options as well. Sadly, crepes were all sold out by ours at 5:45pm.
There is a tour guide which was exceptional The boat had a shade so even in daylight is OK to do the tour
This is probably the cheapest way to see a portion of the city from the water. However it is difficult to hear or understand what the guide is saying. I was also disappointed that we didn’t see the statue of liberty.
We went on a Thursday and purchased our tickets in person - there was only one other person in line and it was not crowded. This is a the location across from the Eiffel Tower, just across the street (although you have to walk all the way around to exit the eiffel tower then walk back). I guess it was good we didn't get a timed ticket, since the operator there told us there was something blocking the river so the next cruise wouldn't be able to go all the way down to Notre Dame! So we decided to come back to take the cruise after which was the normal route. The operator at the kiosk was very good, she spoke english and was speaking spanish to the couple in front of us and was very friendly and helpful. We got in line at the boat maybe 10 min ahead of time, and easily got seats on the top which we wanted. It was a bit chilly but not too bad - Seats are just folding chairs, so you can actually shift them around and get yourself a little more space. I liked having a live guide actually talking to us and interacting, asking questions. She did everything in english, then again in french. I thought she did a good job pointing out the sites - only thing is on the way back she went down below I guess to talk to people down there, so didn't have any info on the return trip. Views were great, saw the Louvre, Notre Dame, etc.. and was relaxing. Kids (8 and 13) enjoyed it, but were a little bored on the way back since we had already seen everything and the guide was not around anymore. It was pretty much an hour - half hour out and half hour back. I think it said it was electric, but I swear it smelled like diesel fuel to me. Maybe it was the other passing boats. Overall I'd do it again - We did it at the start of our trip to see all the sites, but it might be fun at the end to see all the places you've been from a different perspective. Also don't think you need to purchase ahead of time. We also did it during the day - I hear it is nice at night, but would have been too cold to be on the top deck.
Real thieves! I do not recommend them at all. We had the worst and most unpleasant experience of our trip to Paris. The staff were extremely rude and selfish, to the point that we no longer wanted to go on their cruise. They refused to refund our money, and in our opinion, they acted dishonestly. We are very disappointed with the way we were treated and would not recommend this service to anyone.
The narrator was impossible to hear or to understand. She didn’t seem very engaged. Just rattled on, lime from a script. The weather turned bad, but at least they gave us a blanket.
