Itinerary
We pick you up if front of your hotel or anywhere you want in Paris and we drive to the Champagne area. This is a door to door custom private tour.
Arrival in capital of champagne.
Our itinerary will wind through the Champagne region with time to admire authentic landscapes and vineyards along the way. Our first stop will bring us into the cellars of one of the greatest Champagne wineries. (Veuve Clicquot or Moët & Chandon or Mercier or Pommery or others). These cellars of exceptional heritage are the living testimony of several centuries of development. They are the keepers of a real treasure - the memory of human craft and talent throughout history. Depending on the day of the week, we can go to a village market to meet local producers and artisans. The choice of the cellar will depend on availability.
Our next stop will be the village of Hautvillers where you can soak in a breathtaking view of the entire Marne Valley. Hautvillers is also the resting place of the monk Dom Pérignon! We will take retrace his steps back to the origins of Champagne wine.
Visit of the famous Avenue de Champagne with the greatest Champagne houses and have a glass of champagne in one of them. Our lunch near this place will offer the opportunity to taste local dishes if you wish (example: tasting board with an assortment of local products)
Cross the beautiful Champagne countryside and marvel at the typical villages of the region and walk through the vineyards.
A local artisan winemaker owner of a family-owned Champagne cellar tour his vineyards and taste his best vintage Champagne in his living room! Possibility to buy bottles of Champagne directly from the producer, without any commission. We can organize Champagne shipping.
We drop you off if front of your hotel or anywhere you want in Paris.

Experienced a comfortable stay and received excellent hospitality from Mr. Ashif, a member of the hotel staff.
If this is your first time in Paris and you’re thinking about visiting Champagne, France & Colin is absolutely the way to go — you won’t be disappointed. From picking us up at our hotel to the scenic drive, the entire experience was memorable. Colin takes you to hidden gems you simply wouldn’t find on your own. He’s incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and has a wonderful sense of humor that makes the day even more enjoyable. When I return to Paris, I will definitely choose Colin again for my next French adventure. Merci beaucoup! 😊 Nicky & Robert (AZ)
We had a wonderful tour to the Champagne region with a small Champagne producer as well as a wildly popular tour of Moët and Chandon. We were headed to Veuve Clicquot and upon arrival discovered it was closed on that day. Our knowledgeable guide quickly pivoted to a champagne house that we had never heard of and we were very pleased with the tasting. Thank you Collin for introducing us to Pommeray Champagne and their very unique property!
Best holiday ever and the hotel pool etc everything was so nice and can't wait to see everyone next holiday please God, whala hotel give us everything we needed, Godbless
We had a wonderful time :) our guide Colin was very fun and knowledgeable. Loved the tour :) Got to meet local champagne makers and feel the spirit of this drink. thank you!!!
Food and service was excellent specially mr naresh , rana chef , kareena, priyanka , vishal gave us really fantastic food and service.we really appreciate their hardwork.
We had the most wonderful experience with Agnes! She was our guide for three memorable days in Reims. We started with the large champagne houses (Veuve, Pommery and Ruinart) and then spent two days in the champagne countryside visiting smaller Champagne houses. Saw places we would have never found on our own
Our entire experience with Finding France was wonderful. Adeline was extremely helpful and patient in answering our questions about the different tour options and always responded promptly. Our day tour to Champagne was truly memorable, largely thanks to our incredible tour guide, Gilles Lorand! Gilles was knowledgeable, fun, and accommodating. We highly recommend this tour and will definitely book another one when we visit again!
Gilles met us at our hotel right in time with the best smile! We spent the entire day with him and his smile remained! He was knowledgeable on all things France and Champagne but also tailored the trip to include a historical tour of a local cathedral because he knew it was something we were interested in, We enjoyed the day so much! Awesome tour guide!
Gilles was an EXCELLENT tour guide!!!!!!!!!! Gilles gave us an incredible tour of the champagne wine region!!!!! Finding France is an AMAZING tour guide company. My fiancée and I got engaged in France on Valentine’s Day weekend, Finding France handled all of our private tours for our entire time in France, everything was perfect!!!!!!!! We can’t wait to go back to France and do it all over again!!!!!!!!
We had an amazing day with Gilles from finding France! He picked us up at our hotel and took us on an adventure through the champagne region. He was very knowledgeable on all things champagne and French history as well. We were able to see 2 champagne houses, along with the Cathedral of Notre Dame de Reims and stop for lunch. We stopped at Veuve Clicquot for a tour of their cellars and then onto a smaller champagne house, Pierre Morlet. We loved meeting Eric Morlet and sampling his champagnes at his kitchen table! Such an amazing experience!
Gilles was an amazing tour guide! Such a fun day and totally worth the trip from Paris. The large champagne house was nice and very informative, however, the local Champagne house, Pierre Morlet was the best! We loved Erik and the Pinot Noir champagne was phenomenal.
Amazing tour! Eric did a great job setting up the tours and lunch for a group of 10+. We had a big and luxury bus to accommodate our group which was great.
Gilles took our large group of 22 to Pommery for a wonderful tour of a large scale Champagne distributor, then we went to Averney to a smaller Champagne distributor- Pierre Morlet. Pommery was wonderful but Morlet was an exceptional once in a lifetime experience. We met with Eric Morlet, who opened 2 champagne bottles “the old way” to remove the yeast in his cellar. Then we tasted multiple champagnes in his warehouse! I would enthusiastically recommend Gilles for private excursions while traveling! Merci beaucoup
The experience was absolutely amazing! Going to major champagne house to a local was a treat. I preferred the local house. Gilles was the best guide for the day! He is knowledgable, personal, and friendly!! Eric at Pierre Morlet was the greatest experience. 10/10 experience!
I always receive an excellent service in the restaurant, especially with Rosie. Her dedication to her job and customers is first class. The food always arrives quickly but is also cooked to perfection with little extras that I was not expecting. I’m never disappointed when I eat here. Thank you to Rosie as she brightens up our day! 😊
The tour guide Agnes was great. Going privately was amazing as well, but for the money the champagne house that were included were not that great. For the price that we paid per person and based on the description. The Moet Champagne house with Don Perigion should have been included, and if it was not there should be more tastings. It is not worth the money, but the tour guide Agnes was great!
We drove from Paris to Champagne region with a 5-person tour. Our tour guide was pleasant, knowledgeable and informative. We visited a smallish family owned champagne house (Pierre Morley) and a large corporate owned one (Mercier). Had a tasting and tour at each. Also, had lunch at Au Petit Forneau in Epernay. Meal was excellent. Great trip.
We had a great day touring the Champagne region. Our guide, Gilles, was knowledgeable of the area and very personable. We had tours and tastings at a large champagne cellar (Mercier), as well as a smaller family owned cellar (Morlet). Both were fascinating, but we especially enjoyed the tour at Morlet. We’ve always enjoyed visiting the smaller family owned vineyards, and Morlet was no exception. Great day trip from Paris…highly recommend both tour and guide.
We absolutely loved this tour (my husband & I) we were so lucky to have one of the most knowledgeable tour guides ever Ang¿s! She taught us so much about champagne on our way to Épernay. I was a little hesitant because some have said they were unable to get into specific champagne houses, we didn’t have any issues. I booked it well in advance. I just made sure to let them know which one we wanted to visit and made sure to follow up once we got closer. We went on a weekday during the slower season. Also, I wanted to note that Paris traffic is literally no joke. We stayed at the Hilton Paris Opera (very busy because it’s close to everything you need to see your first time in Paris) we still made perfect timing but just wanted to express that’s definitely something they cannot control especially when it comes to your location of pick up. On to the tour! We had the pleasure of visiting Moët & Chandon. The tour was very nice, we were able to walk through their cellars while learning of their process. Once finished we received two full glasses of champagne (this was apart of the booking price). Then you have the opportunity to purchase any additional bottles is you choose, no pressure at all. Also, Dom Perignon is produced by Moët, they sell bottles of Dom in the gift shop and they are priced very fair! Our tour guide then took use down Champagne Avenue to see all the other houses we were good on time so we were able to stop at one and enjoy another tasting (we paid for that but you get a full glass). Then we made our way to Dom Perignon’s burial but before we stopped we had some lunch and enjoyed some more champagne tastings in the same town (this was not included). Once we were finished we visited the church where Dom Perignon is buried. Then we made our way to a smaller champagne house (Pierre Morlet). This was honestly the best part of the tour! Not only was their champagne divine the hospitality was exceptional! We got to see their cellars and learn even more about the champagne process. Then we got to see the production side of it which was so cool! It will definitely make you appreciate your champagne and all the hard work that goes into it. Lastly, we were able to try anything we wanted, we loved their vintage. Our tour was 11 hours total from pick up at our hotel to drop off. It was worth every penny to have a guide lead us throughout the entire day! The only thing I’d recommend is if you plan to purchase bottles be sure to bring and extra piece of luggage ☺️ I’m ready to go back and spend a few days honestly it was hands down one of the best tours I’ve ever been on. Cheers 🥂
Staff was very hardworking food was good i like their fruit punch, ambiences was great they served food on time I visited first time
Clement was extraordinary! Not only was he knowledgeable and engaging, he was passionate and funny. His sense of humor fit our group’s vibe and his flexibility to our private group’s needs made for an unforgettable experience. The best part was the unexpected experience at the local producer’s property. Eric the owner had us in stitches. (He’s not always there.) But wow! We had hope to visit the houses of Moët et Chandon, but due to late booking our tour took us to Mercier, WOW!! The history was amazing. So glad it turned out the way it did. Of course , the photos we took at the vineyards were amazing (weather was good). Clement set out a picnic blanket and really made our experience unforgettable. Along the drive he chatted and described the sights answered a trillion questions and always had a smile. Confident and experienced, he made this experience a pleasure for the group in the car. Only regret is that the other car I booked for the rest of the group didn’t have clement. They slept. We laughed.
I cannot say enough wonderful things about our tour to the Champagne region France. First and foremost our tour guide Augustin was a jem. He was very informative, funny and sincere. He made our day to be one of the best days of our vacation. Highly recommend this tour if you get him. Thank you and we will be back!
We had a great time. The tour was informative and fun. We did both, the big producer tour and the local small producer, where we got to meet the actual grandson of the founder of the house. Leant a ton!!! And spent the whole day touring through the most gorgeous landscapes and the cutest authentic French towns and villages! And of course champagne all day! All around, fantastic experience in a great company of old and new friends.
We had a great family time, everything was excellent and our guide is very gentile :) Totally recommend it
Absolutely recommend the tour!! The experience and the view it’s amazing, specially if you like champagne :)
Absolutely exceptional. Stumbled upon this tour and it ended up being the best part of the trip. Personal. Memorable. Unique. We will book again for a different experience ANS spread the word!!
A FANTASTIC experience, our guide Fatah, took great care of us and really took us step by step during the trip, to really dive into the region of Champagne, we saw a big house producer of champagne, it can be Mercier, Moet or Veuve depending on the availability of the houses, if you want one in particular make sure you let them know with time before your trip! They will definitely help you! Also they took us to a small champagne producer who really immersed us into the world of crafting champagne, a great person and a true connaisseur of Champagne. Over all a MUST DO tour, with great service, true experiences and amazing tour guides guaranteed!
Our driver, Clement, was the owner of Finding France (a tour agency) and the our guide for the day. His knowledge of the region and the people was amazing. We went to Paris in the last week of January and did not know what to expect but what we found was a delightful, very personalized day. At the beginning of the tour, Clement told us a couple of the big champagne producers were closed and that we would not be visiting them. We had not given it much thought about vineyards not producing wines or champagnes in the off season. It worked out quite well because we visited a smaller producer, where the owner is 77 and fifth generation champagne maker, who took us into his home and we sat at his kitchen table while he explained the entire process of champagne making). He then gave us a complete private tour the champagne producing process, from the pressing of the grapes and how fermented into champagne and the removal of sediment and finally bottling of the champagne. He even showed us some of the old fashioned way of doing it and the more automated way of doing it. (As an aside, even with automation, it is still a labor intensive process and now I understand why some champagnes can be so expensive.) After the tour, we sat in his kitchen and he gave us several different champagnes to taste test, some different years and some different blends. He was very generous with the pours for any of you who are reading this who like to drink (no judgement.) I on the other hand was not able to drink that much that day. In summary, this turned out to be a delightful day and with a delightful elderly champagne maker. Thanks to Clement we had an experience that we never expected, when we set out for the two hour drive to the Champagne District from Paris. One nice thing about the end of the tour, we had the opportunity to buy some champagne but there was no pressure and there was very little attention given to the commercial side of the business. I have been on a number of wine making tours where the ultimate goal was to sell you wine. Not the case here. This was an elderly champagne maker who welcomed us into his home and gave us a very personalized tour. A very important component of the day was the delightful stories and history provided by our guide. He lived in the United States for a number of years so his English was impeccable and his stories of contrasting American and French cultures/lifestyles was equally entertaining. I am glad I chose this personalized tour rather than a group tour of the champagne district. There is no way you could conceivably be disappointed
My husband and I have been to France many times and have used Viator on nearly every trip to get new and exciting experiences. We excitedly booked this private tour to finally see the Champagne region as it had never made it onto the excursion list. $1,300 for a one-day trip was higher than we usually spend but it's Champagne...we did not think we would be going back so let's go big! Unfortunately, the tour started off bad and then got worse. Issue #1 The tour guide picked us up from our hotel on time BUT mentioned that we needed to find gas immediately. I regarded the gas hand; we had less than 1/4 of a tank of gas for a 2+ hour drive to Épernay. Given the war in the Ukraine, the queues at the gas stations were ridiculously long. We drove to no less than 4 gas stations, each as busy as the last. I was sufficiently worried that we would run out of gas before finding some. Who wants to spend their vacation chasing down gas? We finally found a gas station approximately 30 minutes outside of Paris. How stressful! This should never have been our concern. Issue #2 Our first stop was to a champagne maker called Mercier. Not Veuve. Not Moet Chandon. Our guide said that she was instructed to take us there...so much for the tour being customizable. Mercier was more of a tourist trap than a maison. Upon arrival, our tour guide purchased the tickets and then we waited in back of a bus-load full of tourists before taking the tour. The cellars were underwhelming and the train ride was something that you would expect at a traveling circus. We expressed our disappointment to the guide. Highlight - Lunch was at a cute little bistro; the food was fresh and delicious. Issue #3 Our second tasting was at Maison Morlet. This setting was more intimate; however, the owner was preoccupied with other guests, and we were treated to a cut-rate experience yet again. We felt as though we were secondary concerns or after thoughts with little consideration given to what we tasted (others at the table were given that privilege). At the risk of sounding dramatic, this is THE most disappointing Viator experience we have had. This tour was not customizable, it did not include either of the "large houses" that were specified at the time of my booking, the experiences at both producers were below disappointing. In short, I would not suggest this tour. Don’t do it!
First of all Fatah - the BEST EVER host/guide! He gave us so much information about the region, the process, the history of champagne. Then he picked the most perfect places for us to visit. He picked Moet & Chandon as our "big house" tour. Took us to a beautiful little place to get sandwiches and dessert in Epernay before taking us to a little village for a picturesque view of the valley for a picnic lunch. Then off to Pierre Morlet, a 5th generation champagne family. We quickly fell in love with the owner Eric who passionately told us the story of his family and their business. And ended it all sitting down at a table enjoying his wonderful champagne. I couldn't recommend this tour more - Fatah and Eric were just simply the BEST EVER! If ever back in Paris, I will have Fatah give me more tours!
Carine was our tour guide. We were on a siblings trip for the 5 of us. She was so personable and helpful! She picked us up from our hotel and drove us to our first location. She stopped a few times to show us the beautiful scenery and told us a lot about the history of Champagne. Our first stop was great, A little local champagne wine maker. They were super friendly and welcoming. We stopped for lunch at a local restaurant. Then we moved on to a much bigger champagne producer. We enjoyed our tastings so much that we veered off the agenda. Carine was perfectly happy to accommodate us. We were all so happy to have her as our guide. We can’t wait to come back again!
Our guide Carine was wonderful! She was knowledgeable on both champagne and general French history as she picked us up from our hotel!! Her English was wonderful as well. She was able to tailor our tour experience perfectly and took several stops for photos. We also adored the small producer, Eric. He was so charming and his champagne and demonstration of his methods was such an incredible, authentic experience. This is a must do activity!! I loved that this tour included a small producer and a large house and the communication was prompt and thorough. We also loved that it included hotel drop off and pickup.
We had such a great tour with Finding France of the Champagne region! We went to a tour of Moet and Chandon, a delicious lunch with a beautiful view and ended the tour with such a special experience at a family owned winery. It was an experience that we will always cherish and remember. Clement was our tour guide and was so helpful and knowledgeable- we learned so much history about France throughout the day. Finding France was very well organized and we had a lot of fun - highly recommend this tour!!!
Clement was on time, very nice and knowledgeable. I would only recommend using this service if you are interested in having fun, tasting good wine and having good conversations.
Amazing experience. Excellent in English and French. Highly knowledgeable. Flexible. Great with kids. Very funny. Would not hesitate to take a tour again. Clement was amazing. Incroyable!
The hotel was in a perfect location right across from Louvre and a reasonable walk to Musee D’Orsay. The staff and Concierge were terrific, especially in planning day excursions to Norte Dame, museums, Arc de Triumphe and other sites - even explained the Metro. Breakfast in the hotel, which was part of the package was exceptional, especially the French Toast. Just a wonderful experience.
This experience is unforgettable, I've been to France before and this was the best experience I've had in France. Clement, the tour guide was spectacular with his care and attention to the group, he was very humorous, respectful and most importantly professional. Clement took us to the Mercier tour where we were mind blown by the inmense operation they run but after he took us to a familys vinyard and to their house, that experience was so personal and private that we enjoyed every sexond of it. My respects to Clement for the great service, if you are thinking of doing this experience, think no more, it is worth every penny and it is an experience you will take with you for the rest of your life.
OUTSTANDING!!! We took a full day trip to Champagne. Our guide, Fatah, was friendly, knowledgeable and lined up a series of experiences that will forever remain as one of the top moments of our trip.
This was a lovely trip into the French country with plenty of fabulous champagne. Our guide was knowledgeable and taught us a lot about the champagne production process. We got to experience one of the big commercialized producers and had a lovely experience visiting a local family producer in a very intimate setting. You won’t find many tours like this!
This tour was filled with interesting information about the process of making champagne, impressive tours through the champagne houses, and what made the experience better was our tour guide. Clement was a big factor in this amazing experience and answered every question we had. He picked us up and showed us all around the champagne area and its many houses, we got tours on two houses. The first champagne house was the Mercier which was very impressive and then, my favorite, the Pierre Morlet house which was a smaller and family based house which they gave us a personal tour and the tasting was delicious. I would definitely recommend taking this tour and living this magnificent experience with friends or family.
Clemente made our day SO wonderful. He is very enthusiastic about what he is showing people. You can just tell he loves to show people “his” France! Very nice man!
What an amazing day! Clément and his Finding France team put together the perfect day trip for me, my wife, and our adult daughter. We were picked up directly at our hotel in Finding France’s spacious, comfortable van. The ride to Épernay was smooth, and our guide and his apprentice provided lots of information along the way. We did a tour and tasting at one of the large Champagne houses, enjoyed a picnic lunch (our choice over eating at a restaurant), and spent an amazing afternoon with a small producer/vintner who shared with us every aspect of his craft - from vine to bottle - after which we tasted several bottles at his family’s dining table! The experience was beyond every expectation, and the Finding France team took care of our every need! I couldn’t recommend a tour more highly!
Amazing! This is probably one of the best champagne tours we have ever had! We have done several tours during previous visits, but this tour was not only informative but also fun. Finding France is a great tour company. I will definitely hire them in my next trip to France. They are extremely professional and very knowledgeable.
Where to even begin… Finding France was the highlight of our trip to Europe (from the US). My mom and I found Finding France online and booked a day trip from Paris to Champagne, France. From start to finish the day was phenomenal. We were picked up right on time from our hotel in Paris, driven out to the country in a lovely van (stocked with waters, phone chargers, etc.), and arrived to a full agenda scheduled for us in champagne. Our tour guide was so knowledgeable about EVERYTHING - France, champagne, etc. You name it, he knew!! This was the highlight of our trip to Europe- If you’re considering any tour, this is the one to do!!!!!
The tour for four of us from the US was outstanding. Clément was knowledgeable and friendly and took good care of us, from the time we were picked up from the hotel till we were taken back to Paris. The visits at different château and the lunch were well arranged. We learned so much about Paris, Champagne (as a region and as an alcohol drink), and France. This private tour was the high-light of our trip in Paris. Highly recommended!
This was a first class experience! Clement is the perfect guide and adjusts the entire experience around your preferences. He is very knowledgeable and personable. It is evident that he is well liked and respected by the businesses and artisans he works with. When we return next year in the summer season, we will definitely book a Normandy experience with Clement.
We had one of the best experiences at a local champagne house. It was intimate, Clemente was very knowledgeable and went above an beyond our entire trip. The lunch was delicious too! We visited Mumm as well and enjoyed our time there. Pierre Mortel with the owners was our highlight and we tasted several different vintages/ champagnes.
My friend Clare and I booked a last minute tour to the Champagne district with Clément due to a change in plans because of l’action grève in Paris. Clément met us at our hotel bearing fresh pastries for the journey. He entertained us throughout the drive to Champagne and answered our myriad questions. Throughout the whole journey he was very attentive to our needs. He is very knowledgeable about the region and the process of making Champagne. He explained various buildings their history and architecture as well as providing information about the WWI battlefields in the area. We visited a local market where we sampled local artisan cheese and cakes before visiting our first House of Champagne where we sampled 5 different champagnes accompanied by lovely pate, cheese and macarons. Then he took us the the abbey in Hautvilliers where Dom Perignon was a monk. Afterwards we visited our second house of champagne which is an artisan producer of organic champagne. Our hostess, Florence, who is the granddaughter of the founder, was a lovely and entertaining guide. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with her and the 2 varieties of champagne she served. After that we proceeded to the Cathedral at Reims and to the Christmas Market in front of the cathedral. The Cathedral is awe inspiring and modelled after Notre Dame cathedral. The Christmas market was extremely busy with many local artisans and food producers. We had a wonderful day and a tour we would highly recommend. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with Clement and highly recommend him as a guide.
