This was a wonderful but long day. The experience was organized and smooth! Because of visiting two sites in one day you may not get the time you wanted at each location if you are like me and read all plaques.

Itinerary
07:30 Start your day with convenient door-to-door pickup from your hotel in Paris. Relax in a comfortable, air-conditioned Mercedes minivan or Mercedes E220 sedan as we head to Normandy. The journey to the Normandy American Cemetery in Colleville-sur-Mer takes approximately 3.5 hours and covers around 280 km (175 miles). Along the way, we’ll make one stop at a highway rest area where you can enjoy a coffee, grab a snack or use the restroom before continuing our journey.
11:00 - 12:00 Visit the Normandy American Cemetery, a moving memorial overlooking Omaha Beach. This sacred site is the final resting place of 9,387 American military personnel who died during the Allied campaign in Europe, most of them during the Battle of Normandy. The Wall of the Missing commemorates another 1,557 American service members whose remains were never recovered. From the cemetery grounds, enjoy views of the coastline and remnants of German coastal defenses overlooking the D-Day landing beaches. At the Visitor Center, discover exhibits that tell the stories of the American soldiers who fought in Normandy and explain the planning, events and human cost of the D-Day landings. This deeply moving visit offers a moment to reflect on the courage, sacrifice and legacy of those who helped liberate Europe. 11:30 Continue to the close located Overlord Museum.
12:10 - 12:50 Located just a few hundred yards from the Normandy American Cemetery, the Overlord Museum offers a fascinating look at the D-Day landings and the Battle of Normandy through an extensive collection of World War II artifacts and military equipment. Explore an impressive display of tanks, artillery, weapons, military vehicles, a V-1 flying bomb, personal belongings and other historical objects. The museum brings the events of D-Day to life, offering a closer look at the equipment used and the experiences of the soldiers who fought in Normandy. 12:50 Departure to Omaha beach located just 10 minutes away.
13:00 - 14:00 Visit Omaha Beach, one of the most significant D-Day landing sites of June 6, 1944. Learn about the extraordinary courage and sacrifice of the American troops who came ashore here under intense German fire. Approximately 34,000 American soldiers landed at Omaha Beach on D-Day, making it one of the fiercest and most challenging of the Allied landing operations. Take time to walk along this historic beach, reflect on the events that unfolded here, and visit the Omaha Beach Signal Monument. You’ll also have free time to enjoy lunch at one of the nearby restaurants. 14:00 Departure to Mont Saint-Michel. I takes 1 hour 40 minutes (150 km).
15:40 - 18:30 Arrival at Mont Saint-Michel and visit of the Benedictine Abbey (tickets and audioguide included). Free time to enjoy Mont Saint-Michel. After arrival at UNESCO World Heritage Mont Saint-Michel, your guide will bring you up the narrow streets of the medieval village toward the top. On the top of the Island, you can admire panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean and bay and enter the Benedictine Abbey. First settled by man in the year 709 it contains Medieval village & beautiful Abbey fortress dedicated to Saint Michael the Archangel. Mont Saint-Michel remains the most visited site in France. 18:30 After Mont Saint-Michel visit, relax on the journey back to Paris in your comfortable, air-conditioned Mercedes minivan. The drive takes approximately 4 hours, covering around 340 km (210 miles), with a short stop at a highway rest area offering cafés and restrooms along the way.
22:30 Arrive back in Paris and enjoy convenient door-to-door drop-off at your hotel. Please note that the arrival time may be slightly later depending on traffic conditions and your hotel’s location.

Really great LONG day—but entirely worth it. Great communication with your owner, pickup and driver and times were just as stated. Terrific way to see and learn about the Normandy invasion and Mont St. Michel is pretty amazing.
This was a bucket list day for us and it did not disappoint. Our guide, David, was patient, knowledgeable and attentive throughout the day. Our driver, Nicholas, was safe and efficient for a long day of travel. Highly recommend! Ease of pickup at hotel and back made for much less stress.
Awesome not to be missed experience. David was our guide and Vadim our driver. Check in with us day before. Waiting outside hotel at 7.30a in Mercedes, gave us a lovely welcome. Lots of stops for drinks and bathroom breaks. David very informative, spoke English well, toured the museum with us and cemetary, then went down to beach. Had a lovely lunch at D Day restaurant then onto Mont St Michele which is another 90 mins away. Stunning isle, has a bus that takes you across new.causway. It has steep narrow streets with 500 steps at the top ( going up and down) to get to the Abbey. Stunning ancient place very crowded. You can walk the approx 2 mile causeway in about 50 min. David is with you all the way to the Abbey. Stops on way back to Paris. Vadim was an amazing driver. Got back to our hotel near 9pm. What an amazing team David and Vadim are. Highly recommend this trip
We had a wonderful day trip to Normandy to visit the Overlord Museum, the American cemetery and Omaha Beach. Enjoyed a great lunch and then took an afternoon tour of Mont Saint Michel Abby before heading back to Paris. Our guide Alexander was fabulous with great driving (he picked us up right from the hotel) and thoughtful stops for coffee and bathroom along the way as well as getting our tickets and escorting us into each location. Highly recommend!
Anna and our driver were great! On our drive to Normandy, Anna gave us the European perspectives on events leading up to and during WWII. It was a long drive and she engaged our daughters and niece with conversations on art history and a shared amusement with Dance Moms. Anna even confirmed that the restaurant planned for lunch offered gluten free meals for our daughter. While each stop was brief, it allowed enough time for us to walk the cemetery, visit the museum, and explore the Abbey. It was a great way to see this part of the country in a short amount of time. We will definitely return for a more immersive trip!
David and the driver Uni were fantastic- David was so knowledgeable about all of the stops as well as Paris in general. It was a full day of driving in a clean and cool van and enjoyable to explore and learn so much ! Beautiful stops on the tour - so awe inspiring to see Normandy and Mont St Michel is a place out of a fairy tale- highly recommend and request David- him and Uni are awesome !
Driver Ramon was an experienced driver. He was so nice and polite. He allowed us enough time at each attraction and lunch.
Vadim was the best driver! He made the day fun and easy. We couldn’t have asked for a better day trip!
A+++! This tour beat all of our expectations, an amazing experience for anyone thinking of booking. Everything was incredibly smooth. The communication was excellent, the car was very comfortable, and the tour itself was truly remarkable. Our guide, David, and driver, Gadis, were absolutely fantastic. David was incredibly knowledgeable and both were very patient and flexible with us. Highly recommend requesting them if you're booking this tour and you will be guaranteed to have an amazing experience.
We had a wonderful day! Our guide Mickey was very professional, knowledgeable and fun! It made for a great experience. We booked the trip for the Normandy tour, but the addition of the visit to Mont Saint Michel was such a pleasant surprise! It was an absolutely gorgeous place with so much history, but you should note that there is a lot of walking and stairs so wear appropriate shoes! Highly recommend this experience for anyone visiting Paris!
We had a wonderful time visiting the Overlord Museum, the cemetery, Omaha Beach and Mont Saint Michel.
Our guide Eli and our driver Alex were really nice. We had a very pleasant experience. Eli our guide was very well informed about the places we visited.
My family and I had an incredible day with David and Alex! David is extremely knowledgeable about Normandy, Mont Saint-Michel and everything Paris!!! David and Alex were very accommodating during our travel day!!! They make a great team!!
A wonderful day with David and Alex! The trip was efficient, well narrated, and we made all the stops as described in the TOUR! Highly recommend 👍🏻
Ilya and Yuni were the absolute best for our tour of D-Day and Mont Saint-Michele. Ilya had wonderful knowledge of all the places we visited; we really felt we got to know the place.
My husband and I took a day trip today with our guide Maria and our driver Vadim. We had a wonderful day - the experience couldn’t be topped! We were picked up from our Paris hotel in a beautiful Mercedes (smooth ride) early in the morning and dropped off at our hotel late that evening. In Normandy, we visited Omaha Beach, (stepped for lunch at an excellent restaurant), and Utah Beach. We then proceeded to Mont St. Michel. I knew from the beginning that Vadim was a safe driver and that I would learn a lot of information from Maria. We appreciated the many anecdotes that she shared. Her historical knowledge was impressive. She tailored her presentation to our interests and catered to our needs. We would highly recommend this tour.
David was very informative, personable and feel very lucky he was our guide. He went the extra step to help us navigate a personal issue which was difficult for us being in a different country.
Vadim was our driver and he was on top of everything. He had the day laid out and it ran smoothly. He picked us up at our hotel and pointed out some highlights on the way out of Paris. The guide we had at Mont St Michel was excellent. This is a guide that works for the site and was incredibly knowledgeable. Our time in Normandy was self guided and very moving. We visited Normandy first, which was important and understandably a bit heavy, so finishing up at Mont St Michel’s was a nice balance. There are a LOT of steps at MSM, be aware of that. I did it with the help of my husband, even though I have a balance disorder, so it’s manageable depending on your situation. I saw some with walking sticks and that’s probably a good idea if you’re not sure footed. We had an amazing day and the quiet and comfortable luxury car made the long drive quite nice.
Uini was excellent driver and tour guide. He made our trip safe and enjoyable.
The tour was excellence. It was best that it was just my husband and myself as we could personalize the tour as much as possible. I would highly recommend it to all my friends.
This was a wonderful experience! Micky and the driver Nico were ontime (early), very personable and knowledgeable. We felt safe and in very good hands the entire day (almost 15 hours). We would definitely ask for them again.
It’s a long day but worth it. Normandy is a must visit. Our driver, Uni was terrific. My husband uses a cane and he was very attentive.
We needed a specific tour which covered a lot of area. We wanted to visit the Mighty Eighth monument by the La Fiere Bridge in Normandy and Mont Saint Michel. Since we have visited Normandy twice we selected a private tour. Ilia, our tour guide was right on time. He was a very knowledgeable and thoughtful young man. The driver was also excellent. We enjoyed the day and it was the highlight of our trip. Thank you Clewel travel for making it happen.
Our guide,Uni, was the absolute best! This was such an amazing day!
Our driver Alex and our tour guide David were exceptional. It is a long day of driving and we always felt safe in the vehicle. And the tour guide David had an incredible wealth of knowledge for a young man. He is quite accomplished and knew many things we discussed even beyond Normandy and Mont Saint-Michel related to France and history of the country. We thoroughly enjoyed the day.
We had a great time! We saw so much on a tight schedule. It was great to be able to visit both places in one day.
Natalie was very knowledgeable and friendly and created a very personal experience for us! It was a wonderful day! Vadim was a very professional driver and he knew how to manage the traffic. This trip is a great way to experience Normandy and Mont Saint Michel from Paris when you only have one very long day.
We booked the day trip to Normandy - Omaha Beach/ American cemetery / Museum and Mt Saint Micheal. David was our tour guide and he is a brilliant young French historian who kindly personalized our tour to be more focused on war history per our request. He and the very safe driver, offered many comfort breaks and let us decide on the pace of the activities. We learned so much from David and truly enjoyed his calm easy going demeanor and ability to connect well with our young adult kids even with our jet lag. David even explained many details regarding local etiquette and gave space at times where appropriate. The van was very comfortable and the lunch stop at Omaha beach was very good. It was a long day as expected to see so much but we loved every minute. Thank you!! We will definitely request David on a future tour.
This is a good way to combine two destinations in one long day. I could not give five stars for one reason only. Our driver was excellent but did not speak any English. This tour was booked as English speaking, Viator did nothing to resolve this when it was brought to their attention.
Five stars. Our day trip to Omaha Beach and Mont Saint-Michel was unforgettable, anchored by our expert history guide, David, whose deep knowledge transformed the sites into living narratives. At Omaha Beach, David provided a sobering historical perspective on the D-Day landings, seamlessly transitioning to the Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial where he explained the meticulous care taken to honor the fallen. He detailed how the region is currently maintained as a place of profound respect, highlighting the preservation efforts that keep the landscape and memorials pristine for future generations to reflect on the sacrifices made. His expertise shone even brighter at Mont Saint-Michel, where he wove together the site's thousand-year history, from its 8th-century origins as a Benedictine abbey to the enduring legend of Archangel Michael's apparition to the Bishop of Avranches. He explained how the island evolved from a sacred pilgrimage destination to a medieval fortress and prison, and provided a nuanced look at its current situation as a UNESCO World Heritage site grappling with the challenges of mass tourism and the ongoing engineering efforts to restore its tidal flow. Complementing this, our driver, Nazar, handled the journey through Paris and out toward the coast with remarkable skill, smoothly navigating heavy traffic and local road conditions with ease. Along the way, we enjoyed well-timed stops for fresh coffee, light snacks, and a hearty lunch at charming local eateries that offered a taste of authentic Norman cuisine, ensuring we stayed energized throughout the long day. We traveled in a spacious, modern Mercedes Van that made the travel time between sites feel effortless and relaxing. I highly recommend this tour to anyone wishing to explore these historic landmarks with a dedicated and knowledgeable team.
Excellent trip, expensive but worth it and the long drive. Has a vast knowledge and castles. My college aged kids loved it.
Our driver Umi arrived a few minutes early in front of our hotel in downtown Paris. Umi’s English was quite limited, he was from Chechnya. We had a quick bathroom stop about halfway on a 3.5 hour drive to Normandy. Short visit (25-30 minutes) to the Operation Overlord Museum, which was pretty good and gave a good refresher for D-Day presentations and execution. Then to the American Cemetery and D-Day Memorial, which should be a. mandatory visit for every American. Had about an hour there, then to Omaha Beach Memorial and lunch right near the monumen right on the beach. From there a 1.5 hour drive to Mont St Michel, which was fantastic. Shut bus from visitors center to the site. The Abbey tour is provided as an audio/visual guide as you wind your way through the holy building. We walked back 1.5 miles from Mont St Michel to the parking lot where our driver waited for us. 4 hour drive home
Alex, our driver was outstanding. Very patient, fun and engaging. My wife and I would highly recommend.
Very good trip! Worth it. Our driver was very friendly, very considerate and coordinate with our time
We had the best guide, David. Incredibly knowledgeable and very friendly (and patient too!). This is a MUST DO tour when visiting France. So glad we did it! Especially with David!
My sister's family and my family plus my brother and two grandma's went on a wonderful family vacation to France! (7 adults and 4 kids under 7) We hired David's company for three days and required two Vans. I wanted to take time today to write a review because they were absolutely wonderful with the young and elder more wiser guests! Typically I do not do reviews because when I am not on vacation I am working non-stop! This is what made this trip so special as a new mom and one who rarely gets a break except on my vacations, it was so great having someone do all the driving and planning for the sites we wanted to see. It was not just being driven but the genuine caring of David, Ili our driver and Vadim are other driver in the other van. The whole time I felt safe and comfortable even having an 11 month infant. They stopped when we needed and the days were long but the Van's are very comfortable and everyone had such a great attitude. Also bonus in the summer the A/C worked amazing in both Vans so I never worried about my infant because always could come back to the van to make sure she did not overheat or eat or take a nap while the rest of the group walked around. I wish I could go back again tomorrow! One day was Paris to include the Louvre and the main sights. David always made sure to help us find the elevator or whatever we needed as we were slower with an infant. In St. Michael we used a baby carrier due to the cobble stones but still had an amazing experience. In Versaille we brought are very portable Yolo baby stroller, which worked well on the cobble stones and in the castle. Normandy day was amazing as well as the day we went to Monet's house. They timed everything perfect so we never where waiting in line too long arrived before the crowds! We had lunch were Monet went frequently with his friends. The Eiffel tour day we did have another tour guide Olga who would be wonderful for a family with no kids she makes sure to get everything in, we however could not climb the stairs with our infant and one Grandma, so just walked around on the bottom when the rest of the family went up. If you have younger kids that cant do the stairs maybe arrange ahead of time with the company to buy the elevator passes. This is what we would do when we go again. My husband and I know we will be back to France so we were not upset and there is a lot to see at the bottom of the tour, infact our daughter took her first steps here! Highly recommend David, Vadim and Ili!! Great driver both Ili and Vadim very safe, skilled and know the routes and how to get you to each area close. This was great for one of our Grandma's. Also should mention they always had nice cold water for us; this too as an American 🇺🇸 who drinks a lot of water was wonderful because we were there during a heatwave with one day being over 100.
Great trip. Vadim is an excellent driver. We were lucky enough to have him a 2nd time as he was our driver for a trip to Bruges last year. David, our guide, was also excellent. Very friendly and accommodating. We had some rain all day and they actually reversed the trip order on the fly to avoid the majority of it. Mont St Michel was stunning. The history of the Norman invasion on D-Day was powerful. Great day and Vadim and Davis were excellent.
Fantastic Day The day was so organized including a fantastic lunch spot The guide was delightful and incredibly knowledgeable It was a perfect tour and I can’t think of anything that needs improvement
Wonderful trip. It was LONG but worth it and Ellie and Nicholi made it a great trip! Do this...you won't regret it unless you come to Grance and don't go!
Eli and Nicolai were attentive and friendly. Was a long but relax tour. Beautiful sightseeing locations. Our gratitude to them.
The private van was very nice as it picked us up and dropped us off at our hotel. There wasn’t much depth to the presentations surrounding the d day landings. We had a lot of questions that were only partially answered. We wanted to know why there? Where were the defenses? Where did the paratroopers land? Etc. For what we paid, we were very disappointed in the lack of content.
We had a full day itinerary to Normandy and Mont St Michel. It was a perfect day but you need to stay on track with your timing especially if there it traffic. Our guide, Igor, had the day timed to the minute and he was exceptional.
Overall amazing way to see so much in a one day trip from Paris. It is a long day, but well worth it
David was an amazing tour guide. Highly recommend him. Also our driver was great as well. Thank you!
We just love it best trip we recommend it with Roman our driver was very professional, courteous He gave us a very nice trip to Normandy and Mont St Michel. We recommend it ♥️
We just finished an amazing day with Mikita (our guide) & Garry (our driver). These guys are absolutely fantastic, made us feel right at home & attended to every possible need & request. Exceeded all expectations. We wanted to see as much as possible in one day, so this tour was a perfect fit for us! It was a full day, but we feel that we got a full experience of both D-Day & Mont San Michel. Mikita patiently took us through all of the sights & provided lots of great commentary. Garry was a very safe & comfortable driver. Highly recommend! I would send a friend on this tour with these guys.
Daniel was very knowledgeable and has a nice patient way about him. The two areas were extremely crowded which caused us to run late. But both Daniel and nickolie (driver) took it all in stride . Great tour I would highly e
The guide Daniel was great really knowledgeable and very patient. We enjoyed this tour very much and would highly recommend this tour. You should ask for Daniel and the driver was Nikolie who did an outstanding job. Both sights were very crowded but we had a great time
Ilya and Alex were our guide and driver, respectively. They picked us up and dropped us off on time with good communication and were professional, courteous and friendly. They made sure that we were always comfortable on what was a very long day - stopping for food and bathroom breaks along the way. Having done self guided audio tours in the past, we know how beneficial it was to have an English speaking guide to show us where to go and what to do. Ilya enhanced our experience greatly with his knowledge not only of all things France but world history as well. We know we would have missed out on many little things had we not had him to show us and answer all of our questions. The extra money we spent to have a guide was worth every penny. If ever we are in France again, we will look them up for another French tour!
