Valerie was wonderful. We really enjoyed her expertise and ability to explain the key historical points and added humor. Great time!

Our guide Emily was very knowledgeable and well versed in the history of the cathedral of notre dame and the history of France.
Our guide, Anthony, was very knowledgeable and very accommodating. However it was disappointing that Notre Dame no longer allows guides inside the Cathedral.
Anthony was an exceptional guide. He was very knowledgeable about the cathedral, and he was very helpful in answering questions.
Verify the meeting place with the tour guide. We were given wrong instructions where to meet at Notre Dame Cathedral and walked 3 long blocks away from the Cathedral only to have to walk back as the guide and the rest of the group had been waiting for us for over 20 minutes. Come to find out the place was used on previous tours as the courtyard of the Cathedral had been blocked off for construction materials the previous week.
Truly, a great experience. Our guide was very knowledgeable and very friendly. It made the whole experience memorable.
They didn’t meet us at stated meeting point refused to allow us to join and refused to refund our money.
Our recent tour of Notre dame was exceptional. Our guide provided insights into so facets of the cathedral and its history that we really came way feeling we had learned so much! Having the small group was so good — we actually only had the three of us on the tour. Well worth the price. Highly recommended!
Wonderful tour guide! So knowledgeable and we loved the tour outside! I did wish we could have stayed inside a few minutes longer.
Love the experience and history of Saint Chappell plus Notre Dame. Daniella was excellent guide. She had to wait for us at the wrong meeting area. Viator did not update the meeting site and I used the app for meeting.
The guide can no longer take you into the cathedral, but she provided a great overview while we waited in line. Also be sure to do this tour early as it got very crowded as we were leaving.
It was great to have a guide through Notre Dame. He was very knowledgeable and added a lot to the tour. The kids were engaged as well.
Very informative tour and friendly tour guide. We learned so much about early Paris history and the interior of Notre Dame with a focus on the art and architecture, including the 2019 fire and restoration. Reserved access and headsets to hear better were a plus!
Great to do a small group with timed entry and a very informative guide
I have given a 5 star review because the guide we ended up with by mistake was amazing. We were scheduled for the 15th and were were moved to the 16th at 1pm by Viator only to receive an email from the tour company that we were to meet at 2:30pm. When I questioned the email I was told to ignore the Viator emails and show up at 2:30. I received another email from Viator stating we were still at 1pm and when I questioned it in my response I had no reply. We were not in phone communication due to another tour so we showed up at 2:15 only to be informed that we had missed our guide whi was waiting for us at 1pm! There was a guide at the meeting point for another group whose tour had been canceled because their museum was closed due to the heat. She graciously gave us a private tour of the cathedral which was fabulous. Long and short we do know that the confusion started because the church had changed the rules for private tours but nonetheless the communication between the tour company and Viator was very confusing.
Helen was very informative with Notra Dame and surrounding area. We enjoyed all her knowledge that she shared
The title of this tour is misleading. There needs to be a change in name since you never get inside the “interior “ of Notre Dame cathedral. I sent a message to the provider of this tour asking for clarification as to whether they would be getting us inside or not and never received a reply back. You are better off on your own and getting in line to see the cathedral.
Great - Tony was very knowledgeable and explain very well. He took his time and walked us through the entire Notre Dame explaining every detail!!
This was a great history lecture. ~ 2 hours of easily understood history on Paris, Notre Dame, and surrounding area. The cathedral did not disappoint- was amazing. Changes in regulations prohibited our guide from entering with us - but he did a very nice job of instructing us what to look for - including the organ loft and pipes.
We booked an Interior Notre Dame and city walking tour through Walks in Europe about a month before our trip. One of the main reasons we booked the tour is the fact that we could navigate the internal tour with our 3 year old son and get priority access to the cathedral. Before our tour, they changed both the meeting location and the start time from 9am to 2:30pm. While the time change was not ideal, we made it work. Then, when we arrived to our tour yesterday, we were notified that the interior of notre dame was no longer included in the tour (remember the name of the tour is the “Paris: Notre-Dame Cathedral Interior & Ile de la Cité Guided Tour”). They advised that the law changed 15 days prior preventing them from doing tours inside. Had I known of that fact in advance, we would have cancelled the tour. Instead, our tour was cut 45 minutes short because my kids did not want to wait in the long line to get inside and the other individuals on the tour did want to do a self guided tour inside. I reached out to Walks in Europe’s customer service requesting a refund, and would’ve been happy with even a partial reimbursement. Their response is that they refused to provide any refund, citing that they “provided me notice that the interior access restriction was communicated in advance.” I checked my emails and they emailed me THE DAY BEFORE (while we were traveling and not actively monitoring emails) about the lack of internal access. The law had changed 15 days prior and they didn’t reach out until the day before our tour. I understand circumstances outside their control impacted the tour. What is not acceptable is their refusal to acknowledge that they did not properly notify me with enough time to cancel the tour I booked that could not be completed. And of course their refusal for any sort of refund or customer service regarding the issue. In short—DO NOT USE Walks in Europe for your tours unless you want to receive bad customer service.
Excellent private tour for four of us. Our tour guide Gwen was very knowledgeable and did an awesome job!
Our tour guide for Notre Dame was Anthony and he was the best tour guide my wife and I have ever had. He was very knowledgeable of the history, architecture and detailed purpose of this beautifully restored Cathedral. He was patient with all our questions, and did not rush us through the tour. You could just feel he was very passionate about his work and sharing his knowledge of this wonderful Cathedral. He set up viewing the highlights of the tour like a theatrical reveal. It was just breathtaking ! I had toured Notre Dame before the fire and when I stepped inside this time after the restoration it’s hard to describe the amazing difference thanks to the countless workers and artisans. Thank you Anthony!
Guide was extremely personable with lots of great information. She had a true love of the history of the cathedral and surrounding areas
We met our guide, Meghan, at the meeting point which was easy to find. Meghan was delightful! She was personable and professional. We walking the island city and Meghan explained the history of the various buildings and they impacted the history of Paris. She carried a folder that had pictures that amplified the discussion points perfectly. The finale was touring Notre Dame. Meghan was very knowledgeable about the 2019 fire that destroyed a portion on this iconic structure and the restoration work that occurred since that timeel. She also explained various art pieces and described the stories behind the stained glass windows. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour and our time with this wonderful guide!
Started off with the guide being delayed, but that was to our benefit because the guide that showed up gave us a private tour. He was very informative and I would do a tour with him again. My only comment that is negative for the tour company is make sure the guides are early for the tourists that do not know the area.
Patrick our guide was amazing. So knowledgeable and personable. Great at conveying information and it was emotional hearing about the history of the cathedral. Also, facts about the restoration and aspects of so much of the artwork that is throughout. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience!
We learned so much about the history of the church and city! Vivienne was an excellent guide who had the ability to talk with us while sharing important facts about the church and surrounding area.
Adrienne was phenomenal. He was so passionate and excited to share his knowledge with us. When we asked a question, he was like a kid in a candy shop, he was so excited to answer and share his knowledge. As we passed other tours throughout the cathedral, you could tell he was the best.
It’s a beautiful gentle way to see one of the most beautiful buildings in the world. Well worth the effort and time.
Our guide was so knowledgeable and sweet! We loved her! I would recommend this way to see Notre Dame to anyone who has not been there before! Excellent!!
The tour was excellent and guide explained every detail in the cathedral. Glad we did that to understand the full hiatory
Extremely friendly and thoroughly knowledgeable guide. Expert level knowledge in all areas of the Isle and Notre Dame. Answered all questions. Very personable and obviously very much enjoying being a guide.
Our guide, Natalia, is incredibly knowledgeable and was an absolute delight. She has a wealth of information to share about the wonders of Notre Dame. My husband and I greatly enjoyed our tour and highly recommend Natalia, Walks of Europe and Viator.
Our tour guide Albon was very knowledgeable and professional! He told us such interesting things…. For us in the Cathedral quickly with few lines! Meeting place was alittle difficult to find… suggest to meet outside of the Metro line 4! A perfect tour!
Very informative. Gwen shared a lot of history as we walked through the cathedral. Liked the small group of us.
Laura was a fantastic tour guide. She took time and gave invaluable knowledge that was not readily available. She has a bright engaging personality that is a credit to the company. Fantastic your!
Anthony was a friendly and very knowledgeable tour guide. We learned so much about the restoration and history of Notre Dame.
The guide was very knowledgeable and easy to understand. But Viator provided us with wrong meeting place information and we almost missed our tour. Luck for at the original meeting place there were other guides who helped us by contacting Viator.
Excellent guided tour. Our guide was so knowledgeable and spent lots of time answering questions and he had a great sense of humor. I highly recommend.
Should send out a separate email notifying of the updated meeting place. It was buried in the email I received before the tour.
The guide was very knowledgeable and personable. He was also very passionate. Kept our group together.
Our guide Nadia was educated in history, and she was so excited about all of the special stories that bring life to this international site. As a French national, she also appreciated the large contribution. The world has given to re-create its beauty. She spoke English beautifully and was able to navigate the tourist and physical building with expertise. Nadia should be who you ask for and please remember to tip her well for the excellent experience she will deliver.
Excellent tour and guide. A must see venue, even better than before 2019. Book early morning tours to avoid the crowds.
We had a great time with Benoit. He is very knowledgeable and his English was great. We had a lovely conversation and did not feel rushed. Highly recommend.
Great experience to compare and contrast notre dame before and after the fire. Guide is very knowledgeable.
Easy to find at the meeting place. Guide was excellent. Pointed out many areas of interest while walking to notre dame. Guide was friendly and very knowledgeable
Do it! Our guide was excellent. 15 years of experience. Loved the history. Recommend going early. The line get longer in the day.
Our guide was very knowledgeable. Did a great job! Learned a lot of the history of Notre Dame. Definitely recommend this tour.
This tour covered quite a bit of architecture and history with a very knowledgeable guide. About 1 hour was spent outside with the Ile de la Cite part, and 1 hour inside the Notre Dame. There was quite a bit of standing and a queue to get into the cathedral. Wear comfortable shoes and layers for the wind off the Seine. Next time I would plan a tour focused just on the cathedral and towers.
The was very little to the Ile de Cit part of the tour. We did not get hearing devices and with crowds and traffic could barely hear the guide. The entry to Notre Dame was stand in the sans billets line and slowly get to the door-nothing pre-planned. Inside was okay but limited discussion of the restoration which we wanted yo learn about. I would not recommend this tour for anyone with any hearing problem.
