This was a fantastic tour and a great value. We would never have gotten so much out of the Musee D'Orsay without our talented guide Eleonore. Her English was flawless, she engaged the small group, and had a great sense of humor and wit! I would definitely recommend this tour!

Itinerary
Step inside the world’s greatest collection of Impressionist art at the Musée d’Orsay — the museum Parisians love most. Housed in a magnificent Beaux-Arts railway station, the Orsay is one of Paris’s must-see cultural landmarks. Meet your expert local guide just outside the museum and begin an immersive guided tour designed to help you truly understand the art, not just see it. Led by a fully accredited art expert, this experience goes beyond a standard museum visit, offering insight, storytelling, and context that bring the collection vividly to life.
Once considered shocking and scandalous, the Impressionist and Post-Impressionist masterpieces inside the Orsay changed the course of art history forever. Your guide will explain why bold colors, visible brushstrokes, and modern subjects outraged critics — and how these daring artists refused to compromise. Discover the lives, rivalries, and ambitions of Monet, Manet, Renoir, Degas, Van Gogh, and more. Stand before iconic works such as Monet’s Water Lilies and Manet’s Olympia while learning what makes them revolutionary. After the tour, enjoy free time to continue exploring the museum at your own pace, with a deeper appreciation of the art you’ve just discovered.

Great guided tour. Crystal the tour guide was punctual and kept the tour on time. She was knowledgeable and very personable.
Anthony was an amazing tour guide. He spoke of the emotion and colors of each painting. He addressed all of us in the group by name throughout the tour. Definitely recommend him for any guided tours.
We learned so much! Our wonderful guide Sophie was very informative and took us through the different “isms” of the time period covered by this gorgeous museum. Highly recommend!
This was a very thorough presentation. We visited the first floor and 3 out of the 6 artists on the 5th floor. The tour started at 1:30 and then we entered the museum, restroom break and got audio equipment. It concluded at 4:15.
Interesting backstory on both the harvest and the paintings! Orsae was so knowledgeable and very fun and interesting!
Musée d’Orsay has no equal anywhere for impressionist art! Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and interesting. We loved the small group tour!!!
Overwhelmingly beautiful experience. Our guide was so knowledgeable and made the experience wonderful!!! I highly recommend!
Sarah was an amazing tour guide- we learned about the art and the history. Could understand her very clearly (as English speakers). A little spendy, but one of my favorite tours, would recommend to anyone.
Our guide was very knowledgeable, and the museum is a "must see". The group was large (21). The handsets worked well when our guide talked into the microphone, which she did not always do.
Amilie was amazing! Entertaining and informative. Pacing was great. Request her if you can. The museum is wonderful
Antoine was a fantastic tour guide!!! He was knowledgeable, interesting and fun. It was also great to skip the queue. I highly recommend this tour.
The tour guide Avi was outstanding. Kept it moving, answered all our questions, very engaging and interesting. Maybe the best tour guide I’ve ever had, and I’ve done at least twenty.
Very knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide at musée d’Orsay. I would highly recommend in order to have a deeper understanding of the impressive collection and architecture of the museum.
Avi was an incredible guide and handled our larger size group with ease through a busy museum. He was engaging and knowledgeable and brought the museum into context with interesting details and stories. Highly recommend!
Our tour guide was phenomenal-informative and very engaging ! She also managed to give us a tour from earliest paintings to more modern with great explanations of what to look at in paintings!
Our guide, Sylvania, was extremely friendly, great listener, and extremely knowledgeable. I walked away from the experience understanding so much about the d’Orsay. She really had a great ability to speak in terms we were comfortable with and this allowed me time to process and adjust questions if I had any.
Our guide Anthony had some much knowledge!
Anthony was an amazing guide! Very knowledgeable, sweet and fun to listen to. He also gave us great recommendations for food/drinks, other spots to visit while we were in Paris. He was fantastic and made the tour even better!
Anthony was so knowledgeable. He was incredibly accommodating and friendly. He had a broad depth of knowledge and enthusiasm about Impressionism!
Loved our tour guide Amalie! She knew her history of art during the age of Impressionism. Great tour
Great to have skipped the line as there was a great Renoir Exhibit people were lined up to see which I took advantage of after our tour. The Museum itself is stunning. An "ok" experience otherwise. We did not receive any updates prior as to where exactly to meet or how to identify our guide. We only found her as we saw a woman with several people getting ready to go into the museum and asked if she was with Trip Advisor. Apparently she had a number of people on her tour who had signed up through different providers so she did not have specific TA identification. Our group had about 10 people. She had some good information and background on the paintings and artists. Monet is my favorite artist and she did provide some additional interesting information. Would have liked a longer tour as she seemed rushed to get done. My husband had limited knowledge of Monet and the Impressionist (Thank you You Tube!) and he did find the tour interesting.
Excellent guided tour of the highlights of this very interesting museum. Lots to see, but compared to the Louvre, not overwhelming.
Learned such interesting details about the art periods, the culture during the period and about the artist personally.
I just used this tour to skip the line. I didn't use or need a tour. I got to the museum early and they passed me right through.
The tour covers a good portion of the Museum but there’s a lot more that you can see if you have the time. Fanny, our guide, was excellent. She is very knowledgeable about art and the artists. She’s easy to understand and has great enthusiasm for the arts. Excellent tour.
Excellent tour, very knowledgeable guide. Enjoyed time after tour to explore on our own. Amelia, our guide, was great.
Loved learning about the history of the train station and history of some of the paintings exhibited in the station. Julie, outlet guide, was engaging, knowledgeable and a great source of information. She knew her subject matter well. I would definitely recommend it.
Anthony Rosselot was our guide and, without exaggeration, he was one of the top two guides we've ever had. Anthony began before the tour by welcoming each of us and inquiring where we were from, while secretly memorizing our names, so that he could address us personally during the tour. The Musée d’Orsay houses the largest collection of impressionist and post-impressionist art, so by necessity one has to understand the evolution of art in that period to really appreciate what the d'Orsay holds. So Anthony skillfully guided us through that period of art by getting our group to key pieces of art in time-ordered sequence, asking our impressions and feelings, sharing his, and describing the reactions of the public when these pieces were first shown -- often creating somewhat of a scandal. Anthony's approach was like a compressed art class, gently teaching us while also letting us fully enjoy these masterpieces. (We heard several other members of our tour group comment on that.) The d'Orsay building has been originally constructed as a train station, so another aspect of Anthony's tour was letting us appreciate the design of the building for that purpose as well, and its being saved from demolition to be turned into the exquisite museum that it now is.
I valued our tour guides perspective on art and society and appreciated her sense of humor. She made sure we were allowed in even though we were late.
Our guide was excellent, extremely informed and passionate about the subject. She was well-organized. Loved this experience!
Julie was very knowledgeable and gave an interesting overview of the paintings. I would recommend this tour
We would definitely recommend this tour with Anthony. He bought a fresh view of art, concentrating on colour, shapes and artistry periods which made appreciating the art different, rather than concentrating on history which is already displayed. Very engaging and wonderfully remembered everyone’s name. Thank you very much for the experience.
The guide was very informative and gave us a lot of great background information on the artists, the art society of the time and more
Meeting point address not recognized by taxi gps because the street is closed in front of the Legion of Honour bldg. Recommend using different address reference.
Anthony, our guide, was very charismatic and knowledgeable. The museum was amazing. We loved it. Since it was formerly a train station, there is very cool, unique architecture, too.
The booking was easy on TripAdvisor and the guide was promptly at the meeting point. Marie actually works for Memories France. She was very knowledgeable and accommodating. She asked the group of 10 if there was any artist or exhibit of particular interest (impressionists). She gave a thorough explanation of the origin of the museum, the art and artists the led up to the impressionist period to provide context and examined several works of art in the 90 min. tour plus some free time afterwards. The fee provides you with tickets, headphones and a very knowledgeable guide.
Our guide was excellent in connecting the different genres of the paintings. I just loved the degas ballerina paintings and sculptures.
It’s was an excellent way to see such a large museum and to be able to focus on Impressionists. Fascinating
Excellent tour!! Our guide was excellent! Had no issues with finding the tour start location and getting all around was made so easy!!!
Our guide was amazing. We enjoyed his commentary and his insights. Entering the museum with the tour group saved a lot of time and bypassed the walkup line.
Excellent informative guide. Imressive builing and stunning collection. Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Beautiful Day at the Orsay! Great guide!! Sylviana (sp?) was extremely knowledgeable! Perfect amount of information!
The tour was very organized, we started on time, Mica our tour guide was a very good storyteller. We learned about the story behind the paintings as well as the artists. Whether you are an art aficionado or a first-time visitor, this guided tour transforms the Orsay from a beautiful gallery into a deep, narrative journey. It saved us time and left us with a newfound appreciation for the era.
Too big a group and a tour guide who was a little too Devoted to her view of art history in kind of long winded way.
I had a great time on this tour with Stephanie who was very knowledgable, kind and charming! It was a fantastic experience and I learned so much! Thank you for a great experience!!
This museum is spectacular and our guide was wonderful. Two areas were of concern… one was that the whole group had the code to the locker and could potentially go there, retrieve their own things (and possibly someone else’s) and even leave it unlocked. That did not happen, but if I were to do this again, I would not leave my things in the locker, or I would get my own. The other issue was that we had to spend some time because two of the people on our tour left without notice, taking with them the radio and headset. Perhaps the guide should take collateral from the people on the tour or just tell them that if they are going to leave the tour they need to return the radio and headset or their card will be charged. Other that those two concerns, the tour was awesome and we would highly recommend.
The tour was great and being able to skip the long entrance line was a plus. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and helpful. I’m really glad I took a tour.
Miki was an anazing guide-so full of knowledge about the art in Musee D’Orsay. I highly recommend taking this tour!
Our guide delivered a professional and sequentially concise lecture, with succinct descriptions of each artist’s life and style. Loved it!
