Jonny did an amazing job and was full of knowledge. One thing that I throughly enjoyed and separated Jonny from the rest of the guides, he had a large iPad with pictures that illustrated different pictures of what people really looked like along with soooooo much more info. I highly recommend Jonny as our guide!!!

Departure Point
- Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of your tour, your guide will be holding a yellow WalksDevour sign. This tour meets in front of the Saint-Lazare train station at 1 Cour de Rome, 75008 Paris. Your coordinator will be standing between the metro entrance and the modern statue of suitcases.
Itinerary
Your tour begins in the center of Paris where you'll meet your guide and small group of max 10 travelers. You'll board a train together for a short ride into the countryside, so you don't have to worry about making your way to Versailles all by yourself.
Once at Versailles, you'll head into the Palace. As you walk your guide will bring the palace to life with stories of courtly intrigue and royal plots, while also giving you insight into the everyday lives of the people who lived here.
On your guided tour, of course you'll see the most famous room at the Palace: the phenomenal Hall of Mirrors. This iconic space pays tribute to France's political, economic, and artistic success through exquisite paintings that line the hall.
With your guide leading the way, they'll give you an introduction to the extravagant Palace Gardens and allow you to wander them on your own. Depending on the day you’ll see either the Fountains Show, where the beautiful fountains come to life to music, or the musical Gardens Show. You'll say goodbye to your guide here. With a roundtrip train ticket to Paris included, enjoy the flexibility of returning to the City of Lights when you wish.
Use your free time to explore the secluded side of Versailles where the royals went for privacy and relaxation. Marie Antoinette frequented this space, in particular the Petit Trianon and the Queen's Hamlet. Please note: If you select the VIP King's Apartments Option at booking you will not have enough time to explore the royal domain including Trianon Estate, Petit Trianon, and the Queen's Hamlet.
Admire an impressive collection of lavish coaches used by French royals, including small coaches used for Marie Antoinette's children. Open on weekends and public holidays.

This is the worst experience I’ve ever had with any Travel group! The directions were not clear on where the meeting spot was. We looked for 40 minutes to try and find it. We were five minutes past the time of arrival because we couldn’t find the correct spot and they had left. We notified the central number, but they have no way of communicating with the guide. We ended up buying our own train ticket and entrance tickets to the palace and doing the whole tour on our own. Very disappointing. We called several times several different health numbers, but no one is able to help. Will never use this agency again.
Valentina did an excellent job coordinating our trip and turning us over to “Mano.” He’s a brilliant guide, full of great insights and explanations. At the same time, he’s funny as can be! But most importantly, he puts into a contemporary context the kings who created and lived in Versailles. Cannot imagine a richer experience than time spent with him.
Both the tour guide and facilitator were good. That said, I do not recommend this tour company. The tour company + Viator were bad. The meeting point instructions on Viator were missing key details, leading me to missing the first schedule tour time, despite being in short walking distance half an hour early. It's not just me, either, on the day that I attended the tour, another couple almost missed the tour for the same reason. This was further complicated by slow/late communication with the tour operator through Viator, even though messages were sent with ample time before the tour left. (I'm not sure who to blame on this one) The tour company and Viator pointed fingers at each other on these issues, and while Viator is typically unhelpful, I mostly blame the tour company. The Viator instructions have to have come from them, and if you're working with partners, it's on you to make sure that the instructions are updated everywhere. I did reschedule the tour, but was charged a fairly large fee to do so, which they would not waive, even when I offered to prove that the instructions were incomplete, and that I was there early (via Uber trip receipt).
Didn't spend enough time in the gardens but otherwise great and the guide was very knowledgeable. Would do it again.
This tour was very well organized. We took an uber to the designated meeting point. Our guide met us to take the train to Versailles, where another guide was waiting with entrance tickets. Both guides were knowledgeable, friendly and made it a wonderful day!
Highly recommend renting a golf cart to tour the grounds because it is so large. Absolutely beautiful and loved learning the history. Tour guide was very knowledgeable!
Amehd was THE BEST tour guide. Funny, engaging, knowledgeable. Shared incredible history, secrets and surprises. Don't miss this amazing tour.
Godze was great. We met her and boarded the train and she outlined what we would expect. Along the short walk to Versailles she gave us suggestions on how to spends our time after the tour. When she handed us off to Ahmet we were in for a few hours of story telling with an infectious enthusiasm. What an orator! Even my 17 year old daughter was engaged in the history as narrated by Ahmet!
We had a great guide who was funny and blunt! Train was quick and easy.
Our guide to Versailles was very good but walked very fast without notice of myself, older. Our guide at the palace was good but did not always speak more directly into her microphone so I missed some of her information. Others did too. Versailles itself was a huge disappointment! It was crowded and we rushed through without really being able to stop and see things. I felt like we were cattle being herded.
Johnny was awesome and very informative, enjoyable, and fun. Had a blast and looked at all the sights
The best tour guide we've had, very interesting and informative very kind
It was amazing. The knowledge of our guide was second to none. Bel did a wonderful job explaining all the pertinent lessons about Versailles. With her extensive background in history and art history she literally brought the castle to life. She also took such great care of my pregnant daughter. Couldn’t have had a better experience!
Vincent was a great tour guide. He was very knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor. Really enjoyed being part of a small group.
This was a great tour - Ahmed (spelling?) was a rock star. So engaging and knowledgeable. Worth the trip.
Skip-the-line is definitely worth it, and Omar was a great guide.
Johnny was absolutely amazing & hilarious! He’s extremely knowledgeable and full of fun facts. You can tell he loves history and went above and beyond with his research! We could’ve spent the whole day with him! :D
I can’t remember his name because of the crowd, but we really enjoyed his commentary. He added many interesting facts and showed relevant pictures on his tablet that brought the different monarchs, families and others to life. He also added humor that made the tour more fun and the characters more human
Johnny was friendly, super knowledgeable and made the history of Versailles come to life. We really enjoyed. His additional research he did to provide greater context was really appreciated.
Excellent experience. Easy to find our way to Versailles as we were going there with a group and our accompanying hostess was very informative and friendly. The different guide we had for our tour through the Palace was super. Very knowledgable, great insight. Small group helped to make question- asking easy and made for a very interesting experience. Only wish would have been a tour of the gardens and Trianon venues as well. Mind you, 4 hours on our feet in the heat and crowds wore us out!
Great tour and guide! Weather worked out well, was not too hot and the rain held off so we were able to walk the grounds.
Jonny was fantastic!! Highly recommend this tour company. 👍🏼 👍🏼
Lots of walking but definitely worth the steps. Valentine was great in getting us on the trIn and Ahmed was outstanding and very knowledgeable!
A big thank you to Julie who showed us through the palace of Versailles today. Very knowledgeable, friendly and entertaining. We had a great day.
Excellent tour! The guide was so knowledgeable, and we learned so much about the history of Versailles. I would highly recommend this tour!
Excellent knowledgeable guides Easy transportation and ease of entry no waiting and plenty of time to explore the palace and beautiful gardens
This tour was great, guides were excellent and Manny explained things very well, with humor and interest for our 12 year old daughter. We had priority access as well, skipping all of the long lines for entry, we walked right into the castle. The walk through the town was charming and Andre did a great job explaining the local markets and the best ways to travel back to Paris. We chose to take a train back that ended right at the Eiffle tower to see that as well in the afternoon.
Very informative and interesting. Enjoyed every moment of the tour. Excellent! And thank you
Definitely book with a knowledgeable guide to see Versailles! Our tour was considerate and well paced. We had a guide and full explanations from our meeting point in Paris all the way through the tour in Versailles. Lucienne was so knowledgeable and thorough in her explanations of history and the moments of the tour.
This was a very good overview tour of Versailles. The place is so large that it will take more than a few hours to see the whole thing. Good thing that you can spend a few extra hours exploring. Taking the train back is pretty easy.
This was a fun excursion! We had two guides. On took us from Paris on the rail system to Versailles. Wales is through the town and showed us around. Then we met our other guide who walked us through the palace itself. Very knowledgeable and warm.
Great tour. Very knowledgeable and engaging guide, indispensable for navigating the crowds. Highly recommended.
Overall, the experience was great and very helpful. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and we didn't feel rushed or anything, we enjoyed the trip immensely. However, we had a little trouble finding the meeting place to meet our guide who would take us to Versailles. I wish there was a landmark included on the paperwork on where to meet the guide at the train station in addition to an address. We had to call the 800 number to find out that we need to meet in front of the 'luggage' monument outside of the train station. Luckily, we left a little early and had time to spare in case we get lost - otherwise, we would have missed the guide. He actually waited for 5 minutes and left another couple who probably got lost just like us. He was very pleasant and attentive and guided us to Versailles and handed us over to the other tour guide with no issues. Please add a specific meeting point instruction for your future customers. We did enjoyed ourselves when we got there. Thank you!
The meeting point was easy and the greeter was very nice. The guide was very good. The length of the tour inside the building was not very long (90 minutes) but was almost long enough. However you could go back inside if you wanted, but with the crowd it didn't make much sense. The garden tour was good and the gardens are lovely. At first I thought that the price was a little high, but when I considered the cost of the train rides both ways, and the entry fees for the palace and the gardens and the private tour it actually was reasonable. I would recommend this tour.
Great tour and easy transfer by train. Be prepared for some walking as the estate is massive. Not too many stairs, but some cobblestone areas. Tour was very informative and all the rooms were well preserved.
Our guide Nazli was so great for this tour! She helped navigate the rooms as well as informing us of historic details we didn’t know. Highly recommend this tour and Nazli!
Exceptional day with Amad’s insight & history of Versailles. Made my day learning history of my Red bottom shoes, Louboutin and King Louis XIV!
The garden was lush and beautiful and lush, even in early October. There were many floors blooming, Our guide was knowledgeable and very pleasant to interact with. He was a very good driver. We learned a lot from him about the history of Giverny, Monet, Monet’s family, and the foundation that runs Monet’s house and garden.
Fabrio was an experienced and knowledgeable guide who gave us fun facts about the background of Versailles and the royals involved. I recommend this tour.
Our guide, Julie, was very knowledgeable and very upbeat! She made the tour very exciting and time flew with all the stories and information she was able to deliver.
Great experience, tour was wonderful and Nacy was first rate and a pleasure to have as our guide. She was extremely knowledgeable and led the group at a proper pace.
Excellent tour given by a knowledgeable guide. Small group was ideal to be able to keep up and dialog about what we were seeing. Our tour guide, Vincent., explained French government history from beginning to current. This really enlightened all of us and corrected so many falsehoods that we all had prior to our tour. Vincent was truly the best part of our tour.
Jonnydoesn’t fantastic job on the tour. He seems to have an infinite number of fax relative to the palace of Versailles and everything surrounding it. I can’t imagine any guy having a better command of the material and he presents it in a fun way. The tour itself and the palace is extraordinary and something you’ll likely not forget. I highly recommend Jonny
The tour guide did not show and Trip Advisor is not willing to quality check these companies that are scamming people of $500
This was the most amazing experience made exceptional by our tour guide. She is the one in the photo. She is the most amazing, first class, funny , knowledgeable and hilarious guide on the planet. I would go to any tour as long as she is my guide. TripAdvisor- please let me know that guides name and I will book my next trip
We had a marvelous guide at the Palace of Versailles who brought the “home” to live and provided us with sweet stories and exceptional information! What a delight! Would book again! We loved that we were free to explore the grounds in the afternoon at our own pace! Loved our day!
Nazli was an amazing guide. I would bring water with you as the palace is not really air conditioned and it was very very hot and still air inside. Our guide was super knowledgeable. I wish we could have made our way a little faster but there was a group in front of us holding us up. The gardens are very large and beautiful.
It’s a mess so far. There was confusion about a rescheduled date and Viator never communicated the updated itinerary with the local tour operator. Someone dropped the ball. The Viator app said to show up for the tour, but we got there and the tour operator had no record of us, so we missed out on our long looked forward to trip to Versailles. 😢 terribly disappointed.
Arelia was a wonderful guide. It was lovely to be in a small group and going on an early tour meant that it wasn't too busy. Thanks
