This tour was excellent!!! Our guide was very knowledgeable and took his time with us!!! We had a Great experience with this wine tasting tour!!!
Beautiful place, wonderful wines and knowledgeable tour guide ! It was a pleasant afternoon. Highly recommend!
This is an amazing and highly informative wine tasting activity. Our host, Jean-Baptiste, was incredibly knowledgeable regarding French wine-making and wine in general, and the venue can’t be beat.
We enjoyed 3 wines and the staff running our session was very pleasant. Her stories were very informative. The scent sensory test section was a unique and memorable experience.
Brief but very informative and enjoyable. Three tastings and our guide was very lovely and knowledgeable.
Great space and experience. Enjoyed the interactive and informative tasting of several good wines. Highly recommend
Fun location in below ground basement, cool on a hot day. Plenty of steps. Samples of 3 wines and good overview of wine production in France.
Wonderful experience! Our sommelier, Clément, was incredibly kind, friendly, and knowledgeable. It was the most fun I’ve ever had on a wine tasting/tour. The wines were great and it was the perfect cool break on a hot Paris day. I would highly recommend! Tip- there is no food on the tour, so we grabbed a quick croissant snack before!
We were excited for our tour and booked with ease with Viator the day prior to our visit. We had some challenges that were unforeseen getting to the experience and we tried to call the Caves to let them know. Unfortunately their phone continued to ring and then finally when someone answered , and immediately hung up on us. Through no fault of The Cave , We arrived 30 minutes into our tour and tried to explain the unforeseen circumstance with transportation (our taxi got lost-abandoned us and we had to take another fighting city traffic ) We spoke to the person at the front desk and also the manager. They were dismissive and rude- refusing to allow us to join for the last half hour left on our tour. They also wouldn’t allow a worker who volunteered to show us around or to have us join any other tours that evening stating they were full. We were leaving the next morning and couldn’t book another option . I understand it was on us to arrive on time but we did our best to call to tell them. We even showed the manager our call log on our phone as proof. The manager also refused us any tastings we would have received on the tour to make up for the missed tour we had paid for. We felt belittled, dismissed and disrespected as human beings the way we were spoken to. I walked away in tears I felt so bad. No human needs to be treated that way. We however lucky to have a bright light after having met a few good folks from the company’s cheese store and the wine shop next door. Despite the managers rudeness, they allowed us to have one wine to taste and treated us with sympathy and smiles. I am so very disappointed we missed the tour. Again my complaint was how we were treated upon arrival. Essentially I felt robbed twice - once by the cab driver who got us lost, took our money and left us at the side of the ride hailing another cab to make it to the Cave … and then by the Cave who wouldn’t even answer our calls. There are better ways to treat customers then rudely dismiss them.
Very interesting and informative experience! Got to sample different types of wine and learn about the process. Highly recommend.
This was a great experience. I love wine and know a bit about it, my son enjoys wine and doesn't know anything about it. The sommelier was great- knowledgeable and entertaining. We appreciated that they shared the history of the location. The tour finishes in the wine shop where you have the opportunity to purchase what we tasted. There was absolutely no pressure to purchase, but we did pick up a bottle my son enjoyed.
Very informative and a lovely cave to visit Small groups was great Lots of interesting activities and the host was very friendly
Basic and they treat you really bad if you don’t upgrade your ticket to the more expensive wines. Wines tasted nice and the underground element was interesting, as well the the museum aspect but treatment was poor.
It was a great experience. The guide was very knowledgeable and informative. The information we received was more than we received from any other wine tour. My wife and I really enjoyed the tour.
This was an absolutely wonderful wine tour. Our host was so welcoming throughout. He spent a half hour more with our group after the tour was “officially” over to answer our questions. I would recommend this to anyone / everyone
We enjoyed this trip - it's aimed more at beginners level of wine knowledge. The guide herself was very friendly & knowledgeable. The caves are very atmospheric. Would recommend it & the shop next door making it's own fresh bagels.
Alexa was amazing. The most informative and interesting wine tasting we’ve ever done (and we’re done a few). Great setting, interactive and the perfect amount of time. Highly recommended
Great central location, our host was really friendly and humorous, plus had lots of knowledge of wine, reading wine labels and the different areas it is produced in France. Generous amount of wine offered on the tour too, and atmospheric venue down in the cellars. Would have loved an opportunity to have learnt how to detect different notes in the wine. Would recommend to anyone looking for a wine based activity whilst in Paris - we were done within the hour too so not too time consuming. Non alcoholic options available too, and opportunity to take photos
I brought my mom along and we both had a great time even though I am not a wine drinker! Alexa was very informed and made the experience fun!
Learned a lot about wine not just in France but Europe as a whole! Got to try 3 wines and all were good. Staff was also friendly. Enjoyable!
Given a great overview on French wine. Great storytelling by the guide. We also had chance to taste three different types of French wine.
I loved our wine tasting & the learned experience. So much wonderful information. Maria was amazing. I would highly recommend this wine tasting & tour.
It would have been a 6 had there not been some suspenseful uncomfortable moments re booking through third party. It seemed # of people wasn't properly swiftly updated although full payment had been made. Very interesting wine and historical knowledge. Perhaps a must when in Paris near the Louvre with limited time for activities.
This is for novice level. Guide gave only very high level information and not a real cave experience.
Great experience. We got to go down into the tunnel system that used to connect Paris. Our guide was great! The wine was very good too.
Awesome experience! Our guide was wonderful. She was knowledgeable and funny! I highly recommend this tour for wine lovers!
Wow this was so interesting and the wine tasting was really good. Actually learned a few things about wine. Look into the more deluxe tour that includes cheese.
AMAZING!!! We learned SO much and Theo was kind, knowledgeable, and entertaining. So wish we had a checked bag so we could have bought some wine!
This wine cellar tour was entertaining and informative. Everyone in the group enjoyed the candor and elaborate stories of our tour guide.
Was a lot of fun and I learned a lot! The tour guide told us interesting facts about the cellar and the wines.
We learnt about what to look at on a wine bottle, for example the region and the year the grape was harvested. The cellar was great, we tried three wines, both lovely. There is another option to try the premium wines. The host was charming and a little cheeky! 😄 Would definitely recommend
Wonderful tour from a very eloquent, professional and courteous master wine maker. If in doubt book the experience as you will not regret it! Grazie mille e alla prossima !
Interesting history being in the cave cellar belonging to king Louis. Immersive experience made it fun.
Good wine tour. I wish I had booked a more expansive option, but I did learn a lot and have three good wines. They also recommended a sister wine bar a short walk away for more.
This is a good activity for beginners. You get to speak with a very knowledgeable somm and try some great wines. A good place to spend some time learning about wine and sipping some good one
The wine tasting is ok but I was expecting to see a bit more than I saw, the wines I tasted were good but could be really better. I’d buy a bottle of if I have a bit more of advertising from the event
Fun thing to do. It is less focused on the wine tasting and more telling you about French wine, how it is made and the differences between the wine making areas. The cellars are well put together to make a fun guided tour through different rooms, with an interactive area. The group size is small, so it felt personal and there was enough space. Our guide Justan was very friendly and informative, and fluent in French and English. We had three glasses of wine served as we moved through different rooms in the cellars, all of which were nice, and we discussed them briefly as we tasted them. Overall, a fun activity that we enjoyed, but not a full wine tasting experience if that’s what you are after.
Wow! What a great experience! Location is amazing and Theo is so knowledgeable and charmingly sweet. He taught us about history and the process of making wine and we had such an enjoyable time. The location in the tunnels underground are incredible. I could have stayed there all afternoon. I would definitely go back. Great for anyone with even the tiniest shred of interest in wine. You can't help but fall in love with wine in this gorgeous location. We loved all three that we got to try. Definitely add this to your plans. Can't be missed!
The Somalia was very knowledgeable!! The wine was delicious!!! The wine cellar was absolutely beautiful and worth the tour without wine!
Tour guide was very passionate and knowledgable! Very nice and entertaining. The wine cellar itself is rather moderanized with electronics, TVs, color lighting and did not portray a feeling of authenticity. The 3 wines were just a light half-glass tasting. I would have expected 3 full glasses of wine for an hour tour. Not worth the money
Very nice. Quick stop, good wine, interesting presentation. Did not take too long and able to book the same day.
Really nice and informative tour, with three good glasses of wine. The tour was structured around the process of wine making, with each room corresponding to a part of the wine making process. The cellars are beautiful and the pase very fitting. The guide was super engaging and knowledgeable, with a good ability to communicate the information in an understandable manner. There's no ability to return for photos of the cellars after the tour, and little time between the rooms, so those needs to be taking during.
I was never an expert on wine. I rarely drank it as it is. But this was interesting and made me appreciate wine and how it's made a lot more. Our sommelier was very knowledgeable and friendly. The wine was great. How can you go wrong?
Great guide who was informative and friendly, good wine and a fun little tour. I would recommend for those who want to try some nice wine and learn a little.
This is one of the top experiences I had while in Paris. We actually got to actively participate in cooking not just watching. Next time I am in Paris I would book this experience again. Since they use fresh bought ingredients the recipes would change so next time would be different. So many of the classes were pastry or baking I wanted cooking and this delivered!! Great time 10/10
The tour was really good and informative. You can challenge your smelling ability and learn about different districts. On the way you get to taste different french wine. You can get in for free with Paris Pass.
Very interesting tour and tasting of the wines of France. Our guide was knowable and informative without being snobby, even when one of the tour members was trying to impress others with their "wine knowledge." Their information was helpful during the rest of our trip in ordering wine, by explaining the grapes and wine making of each region. The location is the former royal wine cellar, which made it historically interesting as well. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone following their visit to the Louvre. Easy walk from the museum and very nice time.
Not only did I learn about the king’s cellar and deliveries, but also about French winemaking and the use of our senses to enjoy wine more deeply.
Irvin was an excellent tour guide and Somalia! The cellar had a really interesting history but Irvin was very knowledgeable about the region, what went into the wines themselves, and we left knowing more about how to taste wine and feeling inspired as we continued through the city! Definitely recommend!
