Reviews
The Big Red Bus was the best way to see the major sites in Paris. And the warmest. The weather was cool, to down right cold, during our visit in early November. But we always had a warm respite whenever we climbed aboard. The drivers were courteous and highly talented maneuvering in the Paris traffic. You'd have to have great patience and meticulous depth perception to get something that big through such tight openings, around the many roundabouts. But they succeeded every time! Kudos!
Schedule was off, buses left earlier than expected A review should not have minimum characters!!!!!!!
Big Bus is a fantastic way to see all the major highlights of Paris. While traffic can be horrendous, the tour buses do a great job of getting to their pickup / drop off points, have regular recurring buses and provide you with earphones to take in their audio guide of the sites you are seeing. An interesting bonus, but Big Bus has a more open second level for passengers, in comparison to their competitors, i.e., you can take a selfie from the back end of the bus to tale in the view in behind you. Other providers had a closed off back ends on their second level.
This is a great way to see the main attractions in Paris without having to do a lot of walking. You can hop off the bus when you get to a stop and walk that area. Once you are done, just get on the next bus that comes along and go to the next attraction. I would recommend the 48-hour tour.
Great value and convenient way to see the top attractions. Audio commentary is informative as well as engaging. Highly recommend as an introduction to the city.
A great way to see Paris! We completed the full loop of the tour as we were short on time, and it was a fantastic way to see the main sights in around two hours. If you’re sitting on the top deck, make sure you take a jacket, as it can get a little chilly. Earphones were provided, with commentary available in a variety of languages. We really enjoyed the experience and would definitely use this service again!
This is a fantastic way to see the city. Well worth it
The route was wonderful. We always like to do this activity on our first day to get our bearings and figure out where we want to return for a longer visit. The bus that we got on had faulty audio in English. Every other language worked, but the sound kept disappearing in our language. We tried changing seats, but they all seemed to do that (on the upper deck). My husband couldn’t believe how well our driver executed the turns and the traffic. Paris is always crowded, but I felt that the week we were there this time was absurdly crowded. The driver gets an A+. The route was great too. I took away a star for audio failure.
It was a great way to get around to all the major attractions. I wish there was an indicator to which stop we were at.
Very convenient to use, gets you through all the important sites fast than us doing it by ourselves. Fastest and cheapest way to go around
Excellent experience. A must do. Drivers were very friendly and took time to make sure we got pictures and time to decide if we wanted to get off or on.
I highly recommend this Big Bus as a great source to see Paris. We were able to tour and shop. We explored the area at each stop.
There is no one saying what the stops are or when the bus is actually a stop and not just a red light.
Big bus followed its route . But viator gave a wrong list of places that will be covered. You are paying extra for nothing. Can book directly on their app as tickets finally can only be generated from big bus app
These buses were convenient, but they only run until 5:30pm which just did not give us enough time to see everything we wanted during the day using these as our main transportation. I was surprised at this early closure for a city with such a vibrant night life. I would still use them in another city though. (3 out of 5 stars) Also, I had an issue with not being able to access l’Arc de Triumphe because of it being closed for the protests in Paris, but the company gave me two tickets to a future city. Their customer service people were excellent. So I will add a 4th star to my review because of them.
Ruined our last day in Paris. 3rd party boat company wouldn’t let us on. After running between boat company and bus company for 2 hours, I was sad to say we’d been scammed, but that’s what happened.
The advertisement says 24 hours… we never got on the bus because we couldn’t find where to catch it. When we finally located the bus at 5:55 pm, the driver told us it was closed for the night.
It's one of the best ways to scope out a city, we do hop on,hop off every city we go to. You can see things immediately and note places you want to revisit.
The ride gave a nice overview of the city which was very helpful but the audio tour provided limited content, especially in compared to the Big Bus tour we did in NYC which provided a lot of history and context. This audio had more music then content and was not well synced to sites, ie told us to look at dites after we passed them. Was good way to see all of city but could have been better.
Excellent way to see the city and combine with the river. Bus tour went past all the keys sights and river provides a different perspective.
Typical bus tour as expected. Unfortunately it was ended before completing all stops which left us stranded, walking a long way back to our hotel. To make matters worse, it dumped us off in the middle of the protest march. Very stressful walk through hoards of protesters, street fires and nearby tear gas launches from police. By the way, after we made it back to hotel we saw one of your buses drop off at the stop we needed. Very frustrating.
Excellent overall view of the city of Paris with easy access to many sights. The audioguide was fabulous filled lots of historical information, lots of humor and fabulous music! Highly recommend
Best option to give an overview of a new city. Easy to jump on and off and plenty of frequency. Highly recommend
The big bus tour was excellent. Loved the narration and my 11 year old wanted to stay on the bus just to keep hearing the history storytelling. Between stops there was great music playing. Only dropped 1 star because our tickets to the top of the Arc de Triomphe that were printed theiugh big bus tour would not scan at the Arc. Lots of headache and no resolution. Finally. The people at the Arc let us go up because they felt sorry for us going back and forth for 30 minutes with big bus.
A great way to see the major sites of Paris. As we had prebooked, we did not know where the stops were so we could start our tour at the one closest to our hotel. Having this info in advance would have been helpful. There is lots of great information about the sites. Loved that we could take our time at the ones we really wanted to explore or if we needed a bite to eat.
Utilizing the hop on hop off allowed us to get our bearings for this beautiful city. I would definitely suggest buying the 48 hour package and the river cruise is also very good.
Absolutely amazing, special in sunny weather, otherwise i would advise extra layer of clothes, brilliant idea to hop on the bus and hop off when you finish visiting, you can cover all main tourist spots without calling for taxi or uber.
Enjoyed ride on top level during good weather. Second bus head set played music when not talking about site. First bus no noise so might have been broken. Definitely hop off and walk around get lunch hop back on. Would try it again in another city
The best way to see the city! Very worth the money, lots of busses, great route to see all the sites.
When I entered the bus I requested the ticket for the Seine cruise as advised on meeting point. He printed 2 tickets, when we arrived at the Parisens Cruise per direction on Trip Advisor they said no cruise included and I should go to Big Bus office. I didn’t have time to walk that far and still make my Eiffel Tower timed entrance so I ended buying another ticket to the cruise. Both bus and cruise were enjoyable and informative but it was too cold and too many stairs to sit on top of cruise which had the best views. We always take the BigBus first time in a city and loop all the way around before saving money without taxis.
Great way to great overview of Paris. Sound sometimes dropped out, but overall a very wonderful time.
Great way to see the City whether you are short on time or want to hop off and walk around. Only wish they had a pick up spot at the Gare Du Nord train station.
We enjoyed the tour! You get earphones to plug into the seat in front to listen to the guide, which has good information about the sights. The stops for the bus are easy to find and the app makes it easy to track the buses and route. It’s a good way to see everything the city has to offer. Make sure you plan plenty of time to hop on and off if you want to see the sights as the bus can take a while to get round the whole route. We also booked arc de triumph tickets through the company and that was a nightmare! The tickets are on the app which say scan at entrance and the didn’t work. So we had to go back and get printed tickets from the big bus people at the stop and they still didn’t work. We went back a second time and had to get the tickets reprinted and third time lucky they worked. It must have added an extra 30-40mins to our visit as we had to queue each time in the arc de triumph queue only to find out they wouldn’t scan. Lucky for us security took pity on us the third time and let us jumpy the queue!! Glad we persevered though as it was great views from the top! Especially if you don’t want to do up as high as the effiel tower.
We got off to see the opera house but it was closed due to the demonstrations and strikes 😔
This was just a bus ride. There was absolutely NO information about the beautiful buildings we passed. Worst tour I’ve had through Viator
Spectacular and accessible for newbies
It was a very cool ride, you can see and hear the history of Paris. I recommend riding the bus route first, that way you can see everything there is to see, and then, decide where and what you want to see and explore. That way you can see it all. Had a great time.
Wonderful way to see the sights of Paris, get your bearings and know then what to explore more. Great photo opportunities.
Not at the fault of the bus company, but there was a marathon this day that we had reserved for and had a hard time getting to where we wanted to meet the bus. I had requested a refund and still have not heard back.
Fabulous, very good value. Best way to see the sights of Paris. We did both, bus and river cruise, all well organised
Easy to purchase and all went smoothly. Great way to get around and see the sights. We enjoyed it lots.
Clean buses with stops at the majority of Paris' attractions. Plenty of busses so waiting isn't excessive. Audio provided helps you know where you are and what you're looking at.
Loved this experience. We were able to see and enjoy the tourist attractions at our leisure and then return to the bus to go in to the next one.
Long ride throughout Paris. English translation available with outstanding music. Inside and up top seats available.
Bus portion was ok although very little time was given to get on the bus and off. We were not told the last bus was at 5pm which would have been helpful since we stood there for over an hour waiting. Several others were there as well. The cruise add on was the true disappointment. We were told that it ran until 10pm we got there closer to 6 after waiting for the bus that never came. The line was easily over 4 hours long and so many were crammed on every boat there was no way that was safe. We opted not to use it. I should have booked the dinner cruise which looked lovely and much more safe. Next time!
A great introduction to Paris! We wanted to do a sightseeing tour as it was our first time in Paris and we only had one day to see as much as possible. This was a perfect way to see the sights. We did a full loop before hopping off at a few stops, and the included river cruise gave us a completely different perspective on the city. Even though it was a busy day, we always managed to grab a seat. Don't worry if you can't sit up on the top deck later in the day - we got to see a lot of detail we'd previously missed by sitting on the lower deck. It's a short tour compared to the London route, but with traffic expect a full loop to take over 2 hours. The audio guide is great and available on lots of different languages. Make sure you die moad the app for great info on nearest stops and live waiting times.
Good bus tour with an informative audio commentary. We caught the bus near Eiffel Tower and hopped off a couple of times. Good intro to Paris.
This was a poor experience as there were no guides for locating where the first stop was. The app was not able to be downloaded and the tickets didn’t work. We’ve used this in other cities and enjoyed it. The Paris tour was not worth it unless you want to sit on a bus for over an hour and do nothing and the drivers randomly stop wherever they want, even when it’s not on the itinerary. Waste of money. Use the metro service, you will see A LOT more!
Rather try another bus option! History was cut short every time, sentences not finished so you couldn't get any solid information about the history. Saint Chapelle is on the route, they didn't even mention it and it is on the pamphlet? Usually we do a bus tour to get to know a place, but this was really not good at all. Not the money worth it
