One Hour Père Lachaise Cemetery: A Self-guided Audio Tour

Not user friendly to download tour Never was able to use tour. Couldn’t get help. Very confusing about adding a service

Loved this quirky self-guided tour! It took me to a number of "out of the way" and unexpected spots that I found easily with the combination of audio instructions and the interactive map tool. Best part of the "one hour" tour (that lasted well over two for me) was that it didn't rush me - I could stop and look at other monuments, or even stray considerably off the path, and the audio didn't re-start until I was close to my designated destination. Brilliant!

Doesn’t include the most significant graves that I would have liked to see…maybe include a more detailed description of which are part of each tour so guests can choose the one for them.

Very superficial tour with boring jokes and strange choices of visited graves - lots of important ones are skipped. Also not included in this tour is a whole section of very moving memorials to victims of holocaust. I think it’s better look up the list of graves ahead of time and make a plan how to walk to them- all available on line.

Really well guided (using GPS) so we were able to take little hidden paths which we would never have found otherwise. Really interesting commentary. Have never done a tour like this and would thoroughly recommend!

Interesting tour and facts but better directions and slower when giving multiple directions would be useful.

I enjoyed the the tourguide's engaging commentary, which is full of both rich and moving detail and drole asides. I had to navigate some initial confusion of finding the ticket code and start button: the user journey between the main Viator site and the tour app Voicemap, seemed not to hook up accurately and I think a couple of screenshots in the confirmation email would be an easy workround which doesnt involve extra coding on Viator's part. That was the only and minor hiccup though. The timing between 'hosts' is absolutely fine for an old lady like me and the directions are accurate and easy to follow. It's one of the best things I've done, wandering around the breathtaking architecture of the sepulchres. The commentary was a good mix of historical and contemporary narrative. It was fun and quite cheesy too in the right measure and didn't detract from the atmosphere. I've always wanted to visit Père Lachaise and I wouldn't have had such a memorable time without this audioguide as accompaniment. It's worth more than 8€ so I hope lots more people read this and buy the tour. I'm looking forward to returning to take the next one.

My sister and I explored Père Lachaise today and loved the tour. The guide was clear and helpful. We got off the path once and the GPS immediately knew we were lost. It was helpful and fun to have this guide and to tour the cemetery on our own. Highly recommend.

This guide is fun and informative. The location element worked well. We took a couple of mis-steps for easily found out way back to the correct route

Wonderful commentary on Père Lachaise cemetery! Having been there before, I know that the labyrinthine layout of the place is overwhelming. With this audio guide, you are easily led to the various sites chosen. Even if you get off track, you are able to find your way again. I learned so much from this guide and would definitely purchase the rest of the series!

You really must download before you go as the instructions were rather complicated and the voice narration never loaded while we were there.

This was a nice way to see Pere Lachaise at my own pace, and to see things I didn’t even know I wanted to see. The GPS feature really worked well, too.

The audio tour is a great way to experience and learn about Père Lachaise. Great value. Go at your own pace.

I entered via Av Principale. The closest tomb in the tour appeared to be Isadora Duncan, and after walking almost half an hour walk, it turns out it was the last in the tour. Several tombs not in the tour, like Chopin. I would suggest different routes options

I enjoyed the commentary and stories and it all worked fairly well but missed out most of the bits we would have liked to see. We would have been better off buying a map and navigating ourselves.

Very easy to use, had just the right amount of information to get the most out of our visit. None of the in-person tiurs fitted our schedule so this was perfect as you can download and do the tour whenever suits. Will definitely use again.

Good for anyone who wants to learn about who is buried at the Cimetiere Pere Lachaise. A bit bummed out that the trail did not include Jim Morrison, so we had to go on our own and then continue.

A great way to visit PL and avoids an aimless wander. Some directions are however delivered too fast e.g, to Sarah Bernhardt’s grave which in the end we couldn’t find. But otherwise excellent.

Seeing the variety of monuments and the resting places of so many famous people. I would have never found them on my own.

This is a great way to quietly visit this amazing cemetery- highly recommended 😊 the commentary is informative and the hunt for various headstones is an adventure in this unique corner of Paris.... thank you!

They wouldn't let me in saying it was already closed and the booking said the audio guide could be used at any time

We have never been able to make the application work! Very simple to pay for, but after an ordeal to start the audio guide. I strongly advise against it. We paid for nothing.

The information for moving around the cemetery is not clear enough. We've lost our way many times

No problem with payment however I never received the link by email and no way to unblock the unacceptable situation

Very complicated to install. It has only involved expense, no help. I wouldn't buy it again nor do I recommend it at all.
