Really loved the day! Sam was so informative, charismatic and willing to answer any question. I learned so much about WWII that I had never known. Both of our Fathers served in this war—though neither in Normandy. The sacrifice made on Dday will remain a part of my heart for the rest of my life. One of the very best excursions I’ve been on. I wish everyone could have Sam as their guide. GREAT experience and worth every penny. Oh and the lunch was fabulous—very good.

Itinerary
You’ll join your expert guide in Paris aboard a comfortable, private coach. On the way to Normandy, learn the details of the Allied preparations for D-Day, the largest amphibious assault in history. Your guide, a fluent English-speaker, will stay with you throughout the tour to tell the story of the operation and answer questions from history buffs and curious minds. On Utah Beach, your first stop, the Allies quickly defeated the German forces. You’ll visit an extraordinary D-Day museum housed in an old German bunker on the landing beach itself. The collection here brings home both the scale and the personal sacrifice involved in the operation, with an original B-26 airplane on display along with collections of soldiers’ letters home.
Utah Beach was the westernmost landing site on D-Day and played a crucial role in the success of the Allied invasion. Unlike Omaha Beach, the landings here were met with lighter resistance, allowing troops to move inland more quickly and secure vital strategic positions. Standing on Utah Beach today, with its vast stretch of sand and open coastline, gives a powerful sense of the scale of the operation and the courage of the soldiers who fought there. The site remains a deeply significant place to reflect on the challenges of D-Day and the determination that led to the liberation of Europe.
Having this pre-booked lunch on your day trip to Normandy is a great way to make the most of your time. Small towns have limited dining options, and searching for a restaurant can take away from your experience. With lunch arranged in advance, you can enjoy a hassle-free meal in a lovely port town, taking in the coastal atmosphere while savoring local cuisine. This ensures a smooth and efficient day, allowing you to focus on the history and significance of the D-Day sites without worrying about where to eat.
Pointe du Hoc stands as one of the most dramatic and awe-inspiring D-Day battle sites. Perched on steep cliffs overlooking the English Channel, it was a heavily fortified German stronghold that posed a major threat to the Allied landings. On June 6, 1944, U.S. Army Rangers heroically scaled the 100-foot cliffs under relentless enemy fire to seize the position. Today, the site remains largely untouched, with original German bunkers, bomb craters, and shattered fortifications serving as a powerful reminder of the battle’s intensity. Walking through this rugged terrain offers a deep appreciation for the bravery and sacrifice of those who fought to secure this pivotal stronghold.
Stopping at Omaha Beach, part of the D-Day Landing Beaches of Normandy recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is essential to fully grasp the scale and impact of D-Day. This was where American forces faced the fiercest resistance, with heavy casualties in the fight to secure the beach. Walking along the shoreline allows you to reflect on the bravery and sacrifice of those who landed here. Seeing the vast expanse of sand and imagining the events of June 6, 1944, provides a powerful, personal connection to history that no museum or monument alone can offer.
The American Cemetery at Colleville-sur-Mer is a deeply moving tribute to the nearly 10,000 U.S. soldiers who gave their lives during the Normandy landings. Overlooking Omaha Beach, part of the D-Day Landing Beaches of Normandy recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, its rows of white crosses and Stars of David stretch across a serene landscape, offering a place for reflection and remembrance. Walking through the cemetery allows you to truly appreciate the scale of the sacrifice made for freedom. The memorial, reflecting pool, and chapel provide a solemn yet beautiful setting to honor these heroes and their enduring legacy.

An unforgettable D-Day experience from start to finish! Visiting the Normandy landing sites was deeply moving, seamlessly organized, and truly one of the highlights of our trip. Our guide, Sam, made the day extraordinary. Extremely warm and welcoming, his knowledge of World War II history is remarkable. He clearly explained complex military strategies, shared rich context, and answered every question with impressive detail.
My family of 8 had a wonderful experience with City Wonders and San as our guide. Pickup was well organized. Sam shared a lot of his knowledge with us throughout the day. Lunch was very satisfying and it was nice to visit with the other travelers.
Thanks for our guide Sam, very very knowledgeable, unlike other tour, Sam speaks all D Day history like stories, toured us through the whole theme back to the time… very amazing , very amazing experience.
Great experience, got to see a lot all in one day. Our tour guide, Sam, was very knowledgeable and kept us all entertained
Sam was an amazing guide, excellent experience.
Great value for the money Sam the guide very knowledgeable and Adam the driver was great
Sam was a wonderful tour guide. I learned a lot and enjoyed my day
This was a great way to experience Normandy in one day. Our tour guide Maja was AMAZING! I learned more history from her in one day than in all my years of school. She brought D Day to life for us, from the planning to what happened on that day. It’s a long day, but it was worth it!
Seamless experience! Our tour guide, Maja gave us 110%. She is an absolute rockstar. She even helped me find styling tools that I had already spent 30 mins trying to track down. She helps with anything and everything. Meanwhile, she related the history of Utah beach in a lovely way that made this experience rich. Thank you!
Maja did an outstanding job informing the group about the various Dday sites that we saw.
Our trip to Normandie was really amazing thanks to our guide, Maja. Very knowledgeable and charismatic, she told the story of D-Day, starting with how the WWII started. We were very comfortable on the bus, had plenty of time to rest between the stops. They fed us lunch, which was a choice of chicken, fish or pizza, as well as dessert. We also stopped at a gas station first thing in the morning and on the way back, which was a great opportunity to get snacks and coffee. In terms of walking - I did 11k steps, but it didn’t feel like a lot, because the walks were spaced out. Overall I would recommend the tour for everyone, it felt like a nice break from the 20k+ steps we did in Paris on our own before.
Maja with City Wonders was great! So much historical information is known, but she didn’t over complicate the Normandy story. Maja’s presentation while riding in our tour coach/ bus also, included recorded historically important and inspiring speeches by FDR, Churchill, Eisenhower, and one or two more. This was a well researched subject by Maja. I understood she’s read many books on the subject as well as films and documentaries. That’s the type of tour guide I don’t mind paying for. And, Maja has a good sense of humor. What an informative and delightful guide to share a day with. AWESOME!
A little rushed but otherwise great. Guide Riti very informative and well versed.
Very good. Informative value oriented.
Our experience with Riti to Normandy from Paris was great! It is a long day coming from Paris, but well worth it. She was very knowledgeable and entertaining throughout the day. We had a sit down lunch at a local restaurant that was good. I would have liked more time at the museum at Utah, because it is hard to see everything in one hour. Otherwise, I highly recommend this tour!
We so enjoyed this tour. From the moment Maija picked us up before the dawn had broken, she looked after us very well. She used the bus time to tell us the historical facts leading up to WW2 in Europe. She used audio clips of important leader’s speeches very effectively. It was an experience to actually step into the beaches, visit the American cemetery and the German bunkers and gun emplacements. All in all an excellent tour. Maia is very god as a guide.
The D-Day trip was fantastic! Lawrence was friendly and extremely knowledgeable. We had time for pictures and making friends along the way.
Lawrence shared with all of us the most immersive experience of Normandy and D Day. He told us the stories of that day as if he had been there himself. Add to that all the reasons that lead up to the war, the hero’s and villains and the history of France. A wonderful day. Jeff from Pompey Center New York.
What an amazing tour! Lawrence is a historian …. He described in great detail the plight France and Europe and the stories of valor as the allied soldiers turned the tide in the Great Crusade which began on the beaches of Normandy in June of 1944. I highly recommend this tour!!!
This tour is a must do with our amazing tour guide Lawrence. Lawrence was so knowledgeable and passionate about telling the history of D-day. He also made sure we had enough time at each stop to take pictures and hear about each sight. I would give this tour 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. The day is long, but he divide the stops up so you don’t feel like you are on the bus for along time. Perfect timing for a long day. Very safe.
Even though the drive was fairly long between Paris and Normandy it went by quick. Lawrence is an amazing tour guide who obviously loves what he is doing. He was very detailed in history and explained everything with enthusiasm. Lunch was really good at a small local restaurant near Point Du Hoc and Omaha beach. Overall everything was great and Lawrence made it very enjoyable! I’d recommend this tour to anyone who enjoys world war 2 history.
We lucked out with getting Lawrence as our tour guide. He is so knowledgeable about Normandy and made it all very interesting. He kept saying he loves what he does and it sure shows. I wish I could sit down with him and just let him tell me all that he knows. It was quite a distance from the pickup point in Paris but Lawrence used the time on the bus to educate us about Normandy on the way there as well as tell us about the history of France on the way back. He has an Australian accent, which also makes listening to him a pleasure. I would highly recommend this tour. A good tour guide makes all the difference. This one was THE BEST! Thank you, Lawrence!
Lawerence was very knowledgeable and passionate!
Lawrence was a wonderful tour guide! We enjoyed listening to his commentary about the history of Normandy and France. The trip was good value for the dollar, as it included lunch and admissions at all locations across the day.
Great. Lawrence is so knowledgeable and well spoken. Explained everything in way reminiscent of a tv documentary.
Surprisingly this tour went by super fast with lots of knowledge given by Lawrence.
Tour of Normandy/D-Day beaches, museum, monuments, cemetery was wonderful! Maja was an exceptional - very informative, pleasant, personable, and kept us on schedule to see everything. Highly recommend!
A long but very impactful tour that gives a glimpse of what occurred on these grounds. Being at the American Cemetery at Taps was so moving. Thelma was an extremely knowledgeable & entertaining guide, whose respect to the greatest generation was evident. Highly recommend!
Our guide Sam was great, gave us a very interesting talk about the history of the war and also our driver Tony gave us a very comfortable drive, didn’t drive too fast. We loved Utah beach, the museum and also the American war cemetery. All in all a very enjoyable day
Normandy and D-Day beaches is a tour everyone should see in their lifetime. We had the most wonderful guide, Maja. She was so knowledgeable and entertaining. She knew exactly where to go and how to avoid alot of people and was super clear with all directions. We loved her and highly recommend her!!
it was a long day but worth the experience. Maia was wonderful and very informative. I would highly recommend this trip.
Incredible experience. Our tour guide Sam had an outstanding level or knowledge, demeanor and control of the tour group making for an extremely memorable day. His use of quotes from Dwight Eisenhower, Ronald Reagan and Franklin Roosevelt were perfectly sprinkled throughout the tour.
This tour was huge. It was a 14 hour tour from Paris. Our guide, John was excellent and very knowledgeable, providing information that helped to set the scene for the day ahead. Although it was 14 hours we seemed to not have enough time. The first stop was the best. Utah beach and museum. We needed an hour more here, there was so much to see. The museum was superb and the beach haunting, knowing so many lost their lives on the very sand we were walking on. We visited a battle field and entered a German bunker. Time here was enough. Lunch was included and was speedy because we pre ordered. It was lovely, iI recommend the cod. Time at Omaha beach also short but long enough. The final stop was the cemetery. We were there just over an hour. This was too long. 30 minutes would have been enough. The other 30 minutes would have been better spent at Utah beach. The whole experience very moving and informative. A long drive back after a full day. The bus was comfortable . I highly recommend this tour.
Sam has a wealth of knowledge, which he shared during the long bus ride from Paris to Normandy. He made the time go by quickly and was very enjoyable to listen to. I also really appreciate our driver Toni as well. The bus was very nice and clean and we felt like we were in good hands. I rarely leave reviews but would highly recommend this tour
Our tour guide Sam was absolutely EXCELLENT!! He is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about the Normandy D –day beaches history and many other things as well. What a gifted educator. He is a wealth of information and went above and beyond to share it! He made the tour very enjoyable. His instructions were very thorough precise and detailed. He kept us on time and made the experience stress-free and relaxing. A++
We saved this day trip for our last day in Paris and it was worth every minute. It’s very hard to explain just how amazing this experience was and mainly due to our guide Sam. He meticulously planned the entire day. He provided us with incredible facts about WWII, shared stories and gave us an incredible list of movies he recommended. As amazing as the memorials, the museum and the beaches were to see, they would not have been as meaningful without Sam’s commentary. Very grateful to have experienced this day and learned so much more about the sacrifices of those courageous men and women who gave up their lives.
Sam our guide was very knowledgeable and we thoroughly enjoyed our day in Normandy! Highly recommend this tour.
Tony was our driver and Sam was our guide. They both did a tremendous job telling us about so much of the background and history of the sites. Sam is very knowledgeable and willing to share with you. It is a long day, but definitely worth it.
Sam was a great tour guide. He was very knowledgeable regarding WWII, D-Day, Operation Overlord, and Omaha Beach. His commentary, history lessons and insight made for a memorable experience.
Our guides made it a fabulous day as we learned about the history of norway and enjoyed the countryside.
It was a great tour that was well worth the money. A good use of a day in France. Highly recommended!

Amazing tour. John was a fantastic tour guide. Super knowledgeable and had excellent stories to share throughout the tour. Lunch was great too. Highly recommend.
A wonderful day! John was an amazing guide with so much knowledge of World War 1 and World War 2. He was very personable with everyone on the tour. One of the best tours ever.
We did the Normandy guided tour with John. He is super knowledgeable and really understands the history and significance of what D-Day means. It is a well organized tour with where we are and what we will see. Great value for the price!
Our tour guide John was exceptional. It was very evident that he was passionate about the subject matter of World War II and history in general. He provided lots of great detail and history which added to the overall tour. He said he wanted to make it one of the best tours we had and he delivered.!! He was very personable and witty and made sure we had all the pertinent context especially at Utah and Omaha Beaches. Would highly recommend this tour!
