Eden was a great guide. Her English was flawless and her knowledge of the area was excellent. If we returned to Paris, I would specifically book tours with her. This tour was fun and interesting.

Itinerary
Discover the history of Montmartre, as we will climb the butte or hills - starting at its base where the Moulin Rouge’s windmill still spins slowly. Wind up the hill and its cobbled streets flooded with charm to discover the houses of artists like Van Gogh and Picasso who called Montmartre home. At the summit, enter the gleaming white basilica of Sacré Coeur, and score a spectacular photo op of Paris from one of the city’s highest points. Lovers of the film Amélie, will feel at home in this district, where much of the movie was filmed. Continue to explore Montmartre's highlights that generally include - Moulin Rouge, Sacré Coeur Cathedral (with time allowed to explore inside as well), Place Dalida, Moulin de la Galette, Vincent Van Gogh’s house, The Artists’ Square, and Amélie Café. Consider an evening tour option and catch a sunset over the city if you’re lucky (depending on the season).
From our meeting point, we will start by heading towards the infamous Moulin Rouge, a cabaret known for its entertainment for a diverse public, and for being a source of inspiration for international artists like Auguste Renoir.
Next we will see Van Gogh’s house on Rue Lepic, the home of the artist and his brother from 1886.
Next we will walk through Place Dalida, a square of Montmartre dedicated to the French music icon Dalida. To this day many fans and tourists visit this secluded square to pay tribute to the French icon.
You will then have a stroll past the Jardin Sauvage de St-Vincent, a sloping piece of land which the gardeners of the city decided to leave in its fragile state to observe the ecosystem, biodiversity and wild plants. It is overridden by elderberry trees, ivy and colonies of wild insects.
From here, we will make our way to Le Clos Montmartre, a hidden vineyard tucked away in the little streets behind the Sacré-Coeur, and one of the last remaining vines in central Paris.
We will then make our way to what is known as Le Lapin Agile, a cabaret known as the home to the Montmartre Bohemian set until 1914, and whose sign remains a memorable symbol of Montmartre.
Following on, we will make our way to the infamous Basilica Sacré-Coeur, a Roman Catholic church completed in 1914 and dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The interior of this beautiful church contains one of the world’s largest mosaics, which depicts Jesus Christ.
After this we will pass by the Place du Tertre, a square only streets away from the Sacré-Coeur. With its many artists setting up their easels here each day, the Place du Tertre serves as a reminder of a time when Montmartre was the mecca of modern art.
Next you will pass by what is known as the Espace Dali, a museum with around 300 original artworks. It is a permanent exhibition devoted to Salvador Dali and his sculptures and engravings.
We will then see the Bateau-Lavoir, one of the most famous places for artistic creation in Montmartre. From 1889 it was principally known as an artist’s residence and represented a place to live and discuss for many painters, writers, actors and art sellers.
You will also see La Maison de Dalida, the house in which the icon lived between 1962 and 1987. Located on 11 Bis de la Rue Orchampt, it is known as the location where Dalida committed suicide in 1987.
Coming close to the end of the tour, we will head towards the metro station Abbesse, which represents a masterpiece of Art Nouveau architecture. Designed by Hector Guimard, it is one of the two surviving metro entrances of the kind in Paris.

It was wonderful! We talked and walked and stopped at many spots that would have been missed without out guide Jason, pointing out the significance in Paris history and culture. The small group meant we could ask questions ~ Jason was responsive and enthusiastic.
Eden was absolutely fabulous!!! She was the best tour guide we had the entire trip. We have decided to come back to Paris so that she can show us more highlights!
Eden was amazing! We learned so much about the area and even about other areas of Paris! Highly recommend you ask for Eden when booking a tour through Babylon!
Eden was an incredible guide. Her English was flawless and her knowledge of the area made this the most delightful tour during our time in Europe.
Our tour guy was great! Knew what he was talking about. He even gave us excellent recommendations for food and etc.
Our guide Eden (Babylon Tours) was very informative and her English was excellent. Would definitely take another tour with Eden. The tour gave you a good understanding of Montmartre.
Eden, our guide made the tour most interesting. Although the weather was chilly, the brisk walk up and down warmed you up.

Alasdair was a terrific guide. Extremely knowledgeable about the montmarte area. He spoke about many artists, Pisarro, Van Gogh, Renoir and showed us where many of them had lived. Shared great stories along the way. Highly recommend him as a guide. He is very entertaining also.
Our guide, Eden, was very knowledgeable about the area. She made sure we had great areas for viewing the sites. We had a little one with us. Eden took time to engage her.
Our tour guide, Florián, provided an in depth tour, with many great stories about the area. We had the semi-private tour and the small group made for a great experience
Eden was fabulous. She had so much information to share and made the morning fly by. We were sorry to have the the tour end. She was considerate patient engaged and thoughtful. She made the experience delightful. We left with a lot of interesting information and an appreciation for the area. It was a fantastic time! Thank you, Eden
Eden was GREAT - VERY informative, friendly relaxing. Fit in well with group. Montmartre was worth a visit.
To start, communications were great. This was the day of demonstrations and Florian/Babylon Tours warned us of the possible disruptions. We allowed enough extra time and were fine. Now, the tour ... It was great. Tour stops were timed perfectly to allow for rest on the hilly Montmartre area. Florian was the best tour guide of our three days in Paris. He was easy to understand. He was well prepared with great stories and appropriate iPad pictures relevant to each tour stop. The small group tour made it possible to have constant interaction so he could respond to our many questions. Were do not have one comment to make it a better tour.
Florian was a fantastic guide. Extremely knowledgeable and brought the history to life! Highly recommend!

Al was a fabulous tour guide, knowledgeable and humorous. We learned so much that we often forgot all about the cobblestone climb. We highly recommend this tour. Montmartre turned out to be one of our favorite places in Paris!
Keara was an excellent guide--knowledgeable, entertaining, happily answered questions and was considerate of her clients. It was a cold day and she favored sunny spots as stops along the way. We would definitely recommend this tour with Keara.
We had a fantastic walking tour with Keara, our lovely guide! We haven’t been to Monmartre and if it wasn’t for Keara, it would have been impossible to find those small streets packed with history of famous artists around the world. A huge thanks to Keara for being so knowledgeable, fun and entertaining! We will come back soon!
This was a great tour. Tamari was fun and knowledgeable and made the tour a wonderful experience for our group of seven.

Our guide, Hugo, was fantastic. He knew an enormous amount about the history of the area, including color behind the events. He was a pleasure to tour with - informative and entertaining!
Our tour guide was animated and entertaining and kept us interested in the subjects. He had many interesting and even fascinating stories that kept our attention to the end.
Loved Montmarte, Sacre Coeur, and our tour guide. Maria was well versed, polite, and helpful at all times. Would recommend this tour!
Maria is wonderful and so friendly … very knowledgeable! Great tour!!!
this tour was primarily about art in the Montmarte district of Paris, so you need to have a little interest in art. It also discusses the history of the region, but through the lens of the artists who lived here. Our guide, Sophia, was wonderful, knowledgeable, nice, and accommodating. Note that the tour is very hilly, as the area is the highest point in Paris, so you have to walk quite a bit.
Tamari was wonderful! So knowledgeable, funny, and helpful. Thoroughly enjoyed our time with her.
Tamare was fantastic!! I highly recommend this tour as there is a lot of history walking up from the base of Montmartre you will otherwise miss.
Eden was a great guide. All 8 of our small group agreed we would seek her out for future Paris tours. She was knowledgeable, very friendly and was exceptionally communicative in advance of the tour. Lots of walking but a great tour of the area.
Our visit to Montmartre with Alasdair was fantastic. His knowledge of the history of this iconic Parisian neighborhood made us feel as if we’d lived here our whole lives. Alasdair let us go at our own pace, made his tour entertaining, and gave us a fresh perspective on the art, history, and daily life in Montmartre. It was a great way to finish off another day of our stay in Paris.
Fantastic tour of Montmatre, Remi was a brilliant tour guide, really informative and friendly. Would highly recommend this tour.
We have taken many enjoyable walking tours over the years but our guide Alasdair was hands down the best guide! He was funny, knowledgeable, polite and stopped to give our feet a rest at the appropriate times! His theater background added flair to this excellent tour.
Eden was an exceptional guide in the best ways. She was knowledgeable regarding the artists that I love and engaging. Our group was small and that was perfect for me. We visited the city on Saturday and it was exceedingly crowded. Eden was expert at keeping us all together in a calm and confident manner. I highly recommend her. Thank you Eden 🙏
We really enjoyed this guided tour with Eden. She was amazing and so full of information and insights. She was just a lovely person and it was fun getting to know her and the area. Plus, we learned a lot about the history of Paris. Very happy we did this tour and she was our guide.

We had an amazing tour of Montmarte with Tamari. She was extremely knowledgeable about the area and showed us many, many highlights during our walk up to Sacre Couer. She was friendly, presented stories well and was accommodating to all fitness levels. This tour was our favorite experience in Paris! The area is very cool and unique with a lot of history. We spent extra time in Montmarte after the tour to enjoy all it has to offer. Highly recommend!
Tamari was amazing!!! She was so enjoyable and had so many incredible stories that made the tour just fascinating. I would recommend this for everyone!
Florian was an excellent guide! I will recommend this guide and tour to our friends.

Alasdair’s tour is amazing! Highly recommend. He brought Montmartre to life with stories of life and history. He beautifully blended his theatre background, love of history and passion for Montmartre and Paris. He went above and beyond checking in with texts the morning of the tour and situational awareness of the entire group through busy areas. Excellent!
