Travelling in and out of Paris takes a good bit of effort. Our driver was excellent and got us to Mont Saint Michel very quickly (about 3.5 hours) with a "comfort stop" along the way. We chose the small group tour, and it was well worth it, because we had a lot more time than the big bus tour (which my wife and son had previously taken). Our guide was HP and he gave us some great history background and escorted us up some "secret passages" in Mont Saint Michel. Great time, but lots of bus time. Didn't need the cider tasting.

Will did a fabulous job as a host. It’s a long day but highly recommend. MSM is beautiful and and we appreciated how hands-off, for a lack of a better term, the tour was. Ample time to explore on our own and at our own pace but not have to worry about logistics of getting back and forth from Paris.
Ride was long but abbey was worth it. Cesar is an excellent guide. I was glad that we opted to pay more for a small van group instead of a large bus group.
This was an excellent day. Will was fun and engaging. We felt perfectly safe and comfortable with Will driving. This is important since it was a long drive. He also navigated us through very long lines and a lot of people on a very busy day. I appreciated the opportunity to go through the abbey on our own and to have some free time to explore. I would highly recommend this tour.
We had an amazing time on our trip seeing Mont St. Michele. Long trip from Paris but worth seeing. Our tour guide was excellent. He gave us lots of background history then we had iPads with earphones to hear everything as we went through the castle. The site is very popular so be prepared for lots of tourists. And wait times at the restaurants for lunch. Also it was very windy with the potential to have rained but thankfully did not. Just be prepared! On the way back the cider tasting was fun! We would recommend this trip if you don’t have time to overnight closer.
In late April/early May, my husband and I traveled to France and booked 4 tours directly through Blue Fox Travel. This review is about our day to Mont St. Michel with Nicholas. The meeting point is easy to navigate to. From our hotel, we could walk or catch an UBER. The cafe is open to use the restroom or buy a pastry/coffee. This was our longest day outside of Paris as it does take about 3 hours to drive there and return. There are stops for the bathroom and to buy a snack/drink. Once you arrive, Nicholas guided us to the abbey and there is a complimentary shuttle that you can take as it is a long walk. He even provided a baggie if you wanted to take some sand home with you! He stayed with us telling us interesting facts and history as we worked our way up to the top. Do know there are lots of steps and the paths can be narrow and made of cobblestones. Once you reach the top, you are then given time on your own to make your way back down to shop, eat etc. Once we met up again, we stopped at a local stand and enjoyed their local apple cider & then Nicholas made an extra spot where you could photograph all the sheep grazing with the abbey in the background! Blue Fox tours only runs this tour on Thursdays. There were still lots of people there so give yourself ample time to eat etc. There are lots of places to eat with a wide variety of food, sodas etc. We had delicious hot paninis and then enjoyed some gelato! Our drive back included a break stop as well. The van is comfortable with clean windows! Once again, it is a small group tour so make sure you are on time so you can enjoy the full day!
We had an amazing day tour to Mont-Saint-Michel with Augustus as our guide! He was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about the history and culture of the region. Throughout the trip he shared so many interesting stories and little details that made the experience even more special. The tour was very well organized, relaxed, and enjoyable from start to finish. Augustus made everyone feel welcome and took great care of the group. Visiting Mont Saint Michel was already unforgettable, but having such a wonderful guide made it truly exceptional. Highly recommend this tour and especially Augustus if you want a memorable and enjoyable experience in France!
Nicholas our tour guide was knowledgeable, funny, kind and great with our group. Only 6 people which makes this tour more personal. We had a magical day with him and our group. He gave us insider tips on what was must see and what to avoid. Strongly recommend. The cider tasting on the way home was super cool too. Nice relaxing final moment.
My trip to Mont Saint-Michel was fantastic. Mathieu was an excellent. He drove safely, had excellent knowledge of history, and was a pleasure to talk to along the way. There were a couple spots we went to that were slightly off the beaten track and that was a nice bonus. The van was nice and we had plenty of time to pull over and rest on the way up and back. The abbey was a pleasure to tour. Mathieu also had some good suggestions for food in the surrounding town. Thank you for the wonderful time!
The limited number of participants for the tour was just enough to make this excursion memorable. Our driver and tour guide named Will, was very professional and tended to our needs. He made sure to respect our time on this trip by giving us just enough breaks to and from the destination. The added wine tasting part of the tour was nice as we enjoyed seeing the local culture and tasting it. The restaurant that we met at was well thought-out as the staff invited us in the morning for hot drinks and breakfast prior to our leaving for the destination. All in all, Will had all our needs were tended to, and respected time as he got us back to the meeting place as promised.
Mont Saint-Michel is everything you see in the pictures and more. Our guide was informative and helpful. The minivan was spacious, clean and comfortable.
What an amazing tour!!! Mathieu was the perfect guide! He was engaging, funny, knowledgeable, and really just a cool guy that our family really enjoyed just hanging out with. On top of that, he was a great driver! We met at the cafe at 7am. The cafe and the tour company are partners, so we were offered a super quick breakfast which shocked me at how fast they could serve us! Reasonably priced as well. Then the fairly long 3-3.5 hour drive, with a rest stop break midway. Mathieu was entertaining and so informative, that the drive seemed MUCH shorter. As an aside, I must say, French rest stops are ridiculously nice places to visit! Great food! When we got to Mont Saint Michel Mathieu gave us a nice presentation, then walked us up to the Abbey. He then dropped us off at the Abbey and basically gave us roughly 2 hours of free time to enjoy the abbey and town on our own, which we greatly appreciated. Touring the Abbey is easy. It’s a one way walk, with signs leading you through. We then had time to walk the town, walk the ramparts, and eat a quick lunch. We then met back at the parking lot. Mathieu the took us for a nice cider tasting, and took us to a great place to take family pics of the Mont Saint Michel in the background with sheep milling about. Great tour, even better guide. Thanks Mathieu!!!!!
HP (Hans Peter) was a great driver and tour guide for the event. While the drive was long, it was well worth it. Mont Saint-Michel was amazing and definitely a unique and bucket list place to see.
Although it’s in November, weather was on our side and it didn’t rain on the day. After foggy weather, Mont St Michel revealed in the sun when we reached. Such a nice holy place. Our guide Augustin was friendly and informative guy. As he was from Normandy, he has extensive knowledge of the region and hey he’s a good story teller too. Cider tasting was a short one but the apple juice was really organic and nice. Such a memorable day it was.
Nicolas was our tour guide and took us on one of the stormiest days! He was an amazing driver. We didn't want to drive ourselves and did not want to join a large tour! It was perfect - there were only 3 of us. When we got there, Nicolas provided us with a historical overview and took us to various look outs for photos. There was plenty of free time visiting the abbey (get an audioguide!) and since we went off season, the town of MSM was not super crowded. The cider tasting was a nice end to the trip!
We have always wanted to go to Monte Sainte Michel, but did not want to drive from Paris. There were 5 of us in the very comfortable van. Wiil was our excellent tour guide. He educated us about the Abbey and many other things along the way. It is about a three hour drive each way, but it was TOTALLY worth it!
This was a perfect day and exceeded my expectations! The only downside (which couldn’t be helped) was how crowded it was at Mount St. Michel. We still had a great time and Augustin was the best driver and tour guide we could hope for!!
Brunehilde was an awesome tour guide! Super knowledgeable and fun! She made the trip even better! This trip was with 3 couples so small tour in a van. Comfortable vehicle, great experience.
Tour Organization: The entire trip was extremely well-organized from start to finish. Booking and confirmation were smooth, and all pre-departure instructions—such as meeting location, timing, and essentials—were clear and detailed. The itinerary ran perfectly on schedule, and communication before and during the tour was reliable. Guide: Our guide, Olivier, was outstanding. He was deeply knowledgeable about history, culture, and local details, explaining everything clearly and engagingly throughout the journey. His pace suited everyone in the group, and he managed every aspect of the tour with professionalism and care. Transportation: The vehicle was modern, clean, and very comfortable for the long drive from Paris. The ride was smooth and punctual, and seat arrangements were well-managed, making the journey relaxing and enjoyable. Sightseeing: Mont Saint-Michel itself was breathtaking, and the time allocated at each stop felt just right—enough to explore, take photos, and enjoy the scenery without feeling rushed. Every part of the visit was organized and matched the description perfectly. Cider Tasting: The cider and wine tasting portion was a lovely touch. The hostess at the winery was friendly and welcoming, even offering a non-alcoholic option for my daughter. The 27- and 30-year-aged ciders were excellent, adding a unique and memorable element to the experience. Value: The tour offered superb value for money, combining comfort, expert guidance, and unique experiences in a single day. It was well-paced, informative, and enjoyable from start to finish. I highly recommend this tour, especially with Olivier as the guide. It’s an ideal choice for anyone wanting a seamless, enriching day trip from Paris to one of France’s most remarkable landmarks. ⭐ 5 / 5
It was a very long day but out guide for the day French Will was very kind and compassionate, gave great advice, relevant and interesting information, friendly chats, timely toilet stops and didn't grumble when we took a bit longer at the shops than we should have. He made our day very enjoyable which is very important for such a long day.
Kudos to Blue Fox. We were the only participants for the tour, yet they did not cancel our day-trip. It is a long day, but so worth it. We got completely drenched on the walk back from Mont Saint Michel on the causeway, so come prepared for both rain & wind. Cesar and BFT are highly recommended!
Brunhilda (“call me Brun from Brie”) our driver & tour leader was excellent & charming. Long drive but bathroom & snack breaks helped. And Mont St Michel is truly jaw-dropping spectacular. Only 6 of us in the van, so didn’t feel like herd of cattle. Very steep steps to climb, so be prepared! You can’t dawdle if you want to see major points (church, ramparts, medieval town, more distant views from bridge walkway). But you can’t expect in-depth experience on a 5-6 hour round trip drive one day tour. Don’t bring small kids, too long in van. Cider tasting short & sweet.
Wonderful opportunity to experience Mont Saint-Michel in a small group setting. Disappointing that the guide did not lead the group through the abbey or the preservation foundation did not use QR codes to provide explanations for some of the rooms that did not have a pre-recorded audio narration. Cider tasting did not really add value to the experience.
Mont St Michel is an architectural marvel. The setting is breathtaking! Well worth the drive from Paris.
My girlfriend and I wound up as the only two people on the trip to Mont Saint-Michel. Our guide Antoine was exceptional. He is knowledgeable and engaging. We had a great time and our guide was a big part of it. Some of the ride back was in torrential rain and I'm sure glad Antoine was driving and not me! Mont Saint-Michel is really a stunning place. The Poire pear cider we brought back helped finish off the day on a high note.
Augustin was great! He went above and beyond, and we really appreciate it. We took some fantastic pics from hidden places he knew. We were tres satisfied!
Great experience and wonderful guide Long trip though and very crowded but all worth it Cider tasting is not to be recommended
Great guide/driver. He knew the ins and outs of the Abbey to help us navigate a very large crowd of tourists. Be warned, there is a significant elevation change. Be prepared to climb many steps, but it is worth the effort.
We had the incredible opportunity to take a small group tour to Mont Saint-Michel, and it was truly one of the highlights of my trip to France. What made it especially memorable was our guide, Augustine. From the moment the tour began, Augustine was warm, engaging, and incredibly knowledgeable. Her passion for history and storytelling brought the entire experience to life. He shared fascinating insights about the abbey, the tides, and the island's unique architecture that we never would have known on our own. The small group size was perfect—it felt personal and allowed for easy interaction and questions along the way. We never felt rushed, and Augustine made sure everyone was comfortable and having a good time. Walking through the narrow medieval streets with Augustine’s guidance was like stepping back in time. He also had some great tips for local food and hidden photo spots that made the experience even better. I highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to explore Mont Saint-Michel in a deeper, more meaningful way. Thank you, Augustine, for making this such a magical and unforgettable day!
We had a wonderful day trip from Paris to Saint-Michel. This tour will not disappoint. The abbey and views are amazing to see!! It ends off with a quick cider tasting which we enjoyed. Our tour guide, Nic (Nicolas) was very informative, helpful and kind!!! He went out of his way for us!!! He is also a good driver.
Take an umbrella for the sun, good walking shoes, plenty of water. Matt was an excellent tour guide!
Overall the trip has great and stunning views. But I feel we were rushed and the ride was not smooth as he seemed like he was in a hurry. Speeding and bumpy ride. And felt like we were rushed and didn’t have enough time at Mont St. Michel as we have to meet up at 3 pm. Not enough time to tour the Abbey and have lunch. We are back at Paris before 7pm
We had Antoine as a tour guide in early June 2025. We had a great time! The drive took between 3.5-4 hours each way with a couple stops for food and bathroom breaks. The scenery during the drive is beautiful. When we arrived, Antoine taught us about the history of the region and Mont Saint Michel. He walked us to the abbey (lots of stairs!) and let us explore independently before meeting in the early afternoon and driving back to Paris. Highly recommend this tour! The architecture is incredible and we felt like the tour provided enough time to enjoy everything.
Excellent venue and tour guide Matthew was informative and entertaining. Whereas the supposed luxury vans are minivans that only seat 6 adults in an airplane back cabin economy class seating at best, if you are the 7th or 8th adult you get last row seating, where the leg room that can only be comfortable for a child. The cider stop is an opportunity for a local vendor to pitch their wares and add an additional 20 to 30 minutes to a 12+ hourlong day that already includes 7+ hours in the fore-mentioned airplane economy seating. Fortunately my tour was only 3 participants and we had plenty of space to overcoming what would have been the cramped seating.
It is a long day but worth it. Philippe was entertaining and gave us good background history of Mont St Michel before we went in the abbey with the audioguide. We had plenty of time on our own to walk around exploring, have lunch and do some shopping. The drive back gave us the chance to have a little sleep! We enjoyed it very much.
I travelled with my mother on the Mont St Michel tour. It was a fun experience. The guides drove safely, provided plenty of opportunities for a bathroom break. The van was air conditioned and clean. Seating was comfortable. My mother walks with a cane, so when she was slow the guides were kind and patient with us as she trailed behind the group. I would highly recommend wearing sensible shoes that have a good grip. There are many steps to climb and many of the surfaces are slippery or uneven. We were given time to self explore the island, which was nice not to have to follow a strict way. We appreciated that our group was small with only 8 people . Definitely worth taking this excursion
It is a long day and a big trip but well worth it - absolutely love Mont St Michel. We did the small group tour because it is normally more personalised. Had done this tour a few years before and we had a wonderful French guide who really knew his history. Unfortunately, this time we weren't so lucky with the guide.. but the day was still great, and my partner whose first time it was going there, still has fond memories of the trip.
What a great day out to experience something so stunning as Mont St Michel. It was a long day but well worth it, nice to relax and watch out the window. Philippe was a fantastic tour guide with a good sense of humour 😊 plus we loved his “hidden alley” to the top
Antoine was an excellent tour guide! He was kind and very knowledgeable about the history of Mont Saint-Michel. He also gave us great tips that improved our experience .
My tour guide was Caesar, amazing person, tour guide, kept telling us the history of Mt saint Michael, was funny, intelectual, told us more history about paris andnother cities…. Would recommend 1000%
My wife and I went on the Mont St Michel Tour from Paris in April. It is a long day but worth every second if you have a tight itinerary. Mont St Michel is breathtaking. Our guide Lucy was a superstar. Attentive to every need of the small group she paced the day extremely well. She is a listener and attuned to individual needs. It great to get guided up to the abbey and miss the cues. Lucy's driving to and from Paris was outstanding. Her accomplished navigation of the Arc de Triumphe round a bout had to be seen to be believed. A most memorable day.
An early start, but worth the effort. Travel time was several hours with friendly passengers and tour guide. St Michel is spectacular with a long and evolving history. Access is across long bridge, that we walk in morning and bussed back in afternoon (after climbing over 750 steps)
Excellent trip. Tour guide Caesar was very knowledgeable and polite. I had difficulty with the steps. He was so kind and assisted me. I made it to the top and I was so glad. The view was amazing.
It was a good small group tour with only 7 people. Our driver Philippe is a funny guy. He knows the shortcuts to avoid the lines. Wish we had more time there as after going through the Abby we didn’t have enough time for lunch as there were long lines for food. We just grab some food to go instead. It would have been perfect if we could skip the cider tasting and stayed longer at Mont Saint Michel.
Beautiful place to visit but hard to schedule things better with flood of people! Long wait for good pictures taken and long wait for food order….It is still a good trip we will recommend!
What a great adventure/day trip from Paris. Beautiful countryside and then Mt St Michel! Our guide Cesar was fantastic & shared a lot of great history along the way. Cesar was also a great driver, as the late afternoon ride back to Paris was very busy! This is a "full" day so plan accordingly.
Excellent tour. Our guide was helpful and knowledgeable. He accompanied us all the way up to the abbey (a lot of stairs and winding streets in the village) and then explained that we would have some free time to explore on our own and have lunch. He picked an easy spot to meet up afterward. I would strongly recommend this tour.
We engaged 3 Blue Fox tours while in Paris; The Loire, Normandy Beaches, and Mont St. Michel. We had 2 different guides between the 3 tours, Matthieu and Olivier. The groups were very small 4,4, and 3. Both guides were excellent and provided wonderful incites into the locations as well as cultural perspective. Logistics were awesome, transportation comfortable, and allowed time great. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with Blue Fox and would use again and recommend them!
Susann was a super guide. I took his tour with my wife and my daughter. We really enjoyed talking with him. We will never forget the trip to MSM with Susann. 5star.
Will and Cesar were an amazing tour guide! So worth it. A great trip! Would definitely recommend! The cider tasting was a great addition.
