I thought we were booking a English speaking guide and driver and we got a driver who spoke very little English. It was incredibly disappointing considering other tours and activities I've used Viator for in the past. I was hopeful to provide an incredible experience with a guide who could give us some of the local stories and knowledge but that was not the case. If I had known it was only going to be for a private driver I would have booked through another site as it would have been much cheaper.

We were picked up for our tour right on time by our driver Aslan. He was a great driver and very efficient. The tour guides at Moet & Chandon and Veuve Clicquot were both great. Very friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the history behind both champagne houses and the champagne manufacturing process. I would definitely recommend this tour.
Great day trip from Paris to two beautiful champagne houses! A few little stops along the way add to the experience. Our driver Max was very attentive and made the best use of our time. Even our twelve year old daughter who was concerned she would be bored had the best time!
A wonderful day to experience the Champagne region. Our driver picked us up at our hotel. We stopped at a boulangerie for some pastries and coffee - then proceeded to Moet & Chadon! The tour there was perfect. Not too long - just enough to give you a great understanding and then finished with a tasting of 2 glasses of champagne. Next we went to the Notre Dame Cathedral in Reims - absolutely beautiful. We had a stop for lunch and then he took us to Veuve Cliquot. We had the cellar tour and we finished with a tasting of 4 of their champagnes. It was a perfect day. Seeing two houses and tours of the cellars was perfect.
This experience is marketed as a guided tour through Reims showing historic highlights of the city along with wine tours. Our experience could more accurately be described as a private drive to champagne tours only… Our driver promptly picked us up at our hotel and did successfully deliver us to our appointments at 2 champagne houses. He did not speak English well and did not talk to us during our nearly 2 hour drive to Reims. On the way to the lunch stop after our first tour at Veuve Clicquot he informed us that our next tour would be 4 hours later! He left us in a very touristy city center at a lackluster restaurant and encouraged us to visit the cathedral. This itinerary change was never communicated prior to the tour despite the fact that the tour company had reached out to share other itinerary changes prior to the tour. After spending nearly half a day browsing on our own he picked us up and delivered us to the final wine tasting at Tattingier. Both tastings were fine. The unexpected delay in the second tasting delayed our return by nearly 2 hours. Our group had to scramble to find dinner accommodations at such a late hour on a holiday weekend.
4 Stars only due to the so-so tour at Moët. The tour guide there was not that good. Too much filler on the tour as well. The second tour at Veuve was much better. Roman was a nice driver and helpful. I would do a single tour at Veuve and the morning 4-hour tour there. They serve the Grande Dame in that tour.
Highly recommend this experience. The convenience of hotel pick up/drop off and not having to think about where we needed to be at what time or book our tours was so helpful and stress free. My only recommendation would be to book your own lunch reservation if you want to go to a specific place, as the tour operator confirmed via chat 6 weeks in advance the restaurant we preferred was confirmed (so we assumed that meant they had secured the reservation), but then day of we were told it wasn’t available. The fact that they made a lunch reservation period was nice, but just fyi as that was our only disappointment for the day. The churches, sightseeing and champagne tours were fabulous. Shoutout to our driver, Roman, who was very professional, flexible and friendly.
This is an absolute MUST DO! Roman was our guide and simply amazing. Highly recommend to spend a day outside of the city.
This is a long drive - but a fun day. Four tastings at Veuve Clicquot with a tour I thoroughly enjoyed; and 2 tastings at Moet & Chandon with a nice tour. A couple stops at churches and vistas for photographs and a lively lunch. Our driver, Roman, was very nice, timely, and polite, but I would not consider him a tour guide. The views are beautiful, and it is wonderful to get out of Paris for a day and taste these fabulous champagnes. I learned much, and have a new favorite.
I cannot recommend this experience enough! Our driver was wonderful and so attentive and didn’t mind taking pictures for my mother and I. We enjoyed all of the tastings, and the restaurant we had lunch at in Épernay was beautiful. All around a great experience as we celebrated my daughter’s birthday!
When booking our day trip, we were told that Veuve Clicquot was unavailable, but that Taittinger was open which was fine by us. Our driver Aslan was right on time for our pick up. He was courteous and professional and rather quiet. We went to all the stops as was mentioned on the Viator tour. At one point, we were early for our Taittinger reservation so we drove over to the Veuve Clicquot’s boutique to kill time. It was great thinking on his part rather just sit in the parking lot. We are so happy with Taittinger’s tour. It was informative and the champagne tasting was paired with mini bites of food. The caves below the champagne houses were incredible. No worries for those who cannot walk down steps. There was an elderly couple in our 12 person group that was guided to an elevator. We were on our own for lunch and were early for the Moet tour so we had some time to walk along the Avenue de Champagne in Epernay. The Moet tour was equally interesting but no food, just bread sticks. My only suggestion for this tour is that it would be nice to have a driver that spoke English. Aslan’s first language is Russian. We communicated through our phone translations app which helped, but it would have been nice to be able to speak to someone who knew the Champagne region. He was an excellent driver and was courteous, opening the doors, giving us the time and meeting points at each stop. He said that he will be working on his English over the winter as business slows down. I would definitely recommend this tour if you want to break away from Paris for a day.
Driver was great and the two tours were informative and fantastic! Niems cathedral is an amazing stop and several great lunch places. Well worth the trip!
Amazing full day trip from Paris to Champagne’s beautiful region . Our driver Uvi was friendly and polite. Everything was great. Picked up on time at 7:30 AM from our hotel in Paris. We stopped briefly for coffee as we traveled to Moet. We arrived on time a little after 9 AM and spent two hours in the beautiful Moet and Chandon winery, Just an amazing experience. Going down to the huge cellar was an incredible thing to see . We then had lunch in Pommery winery at Le Réfectoire which was amazingly nice . Delicious food and of course the Pommery champagne 🍾 was perfect . We then stopped at Abbey Saint Pierre d'Hautvillers , which is the final resting place of Dom Perignon. Incredible indeed . We then visited the Veuve Clicquot winery . Going down to the cellars in both Moët and Veuve were the highlights. Lastly we visited the famous Reims Cathedral. Breathtakingly beautiful & stunning. Then back for the 90 mile drive to our hotel in Paris by 730 PM. Highly recommend this incredible day trip from Paris . The highlight of our 2 weeks in France .
DO NOT book with this company! I was at the airport headed for Paris for this tour and they cancelled 2 days before saying that Veuve was not available on my date. I checked the Veuve website and it looks like they’re closed on Mondays. I don’t understand why they couldn’t tell me this MONTHS ago when I booked this. The “Sorry about that” was a pathetic apology.
We were a last minute booking for this Champagne day trip from Paris and due to the short time frame one of the locations wasn't available, the tour operator did a great job of proactively reaching on this and helped find a good alternative Champagne house. From the moment we were picked up from our hotel, we didn't have to worry about a thing. Our driver was punctual in getting us to all our stops, but we never felt rushed and enjoyed every minute of the day trip. The tours were all operated by the Champagne house and were stellar.
This tour is a perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of Paris. Roman was our driver for the day. He is kind, professional and a skilled driver. The tasting at Moët & Chandon was our favorite. The experience was informative, first-class and tasty. The tasting at Veuve Cliquot felt a little more like a herding process, but I enjoyed learning about how Madame Cliquot built an empire in a time when women didn’t have much latitude. In all, my husband and I loved the tour and would recommend it to anyone interested in escaping the city and taking in a little French countryside. Épernay ia a dream!
Awesome Experience! Would def recommend! Our driver was timely and kept us on time throughout the day. Moet & Chandon was my favorite!
Spending our anniversary visiting the home of our two favorite champagne brands. Great tour guides. Definitely worth the experience.
This was a very nice experience and made for a great day. We were picked up promptly in the morning and stopped to see a gorgeous church before heading to the first champagne house. We had a great tour and tasting all set up for us and then we went to lunch where a reservation had already been made for us at a lovely restaurant. After that we went to our last champagne house for another tour and tasting before heading back to the city. Our driver was great and made the day totally stress free! Great trip.
Both tours were fantastic! Highly recommend visiting either or both wineries. However . . . we paid extra for this tour to get the two wineries as well as an English speaking driver. Unfortunately, he did not speak English or really try. So, it was not what we were expecting for a 1 1/2 hour drive each way. So, the tours were a 5 but the drive to and from the region was a bust.
Touring Champagne France was a highlight of our trip to Paris. Having our own driver, Roman was great. The car was comfortable & clean.
Incredible experience! Driver was prompt and efficient. Started with an on time pick up in Paris, then to a boutique champagne house, Mercier, and Veuve Cliquot. Highly recommend!
I had a great tour, my driver Roman was great. I would recommend to anyone looking to visit the Champagne houses.
