Louvre Private Tour – The Essentials And More With Expert Guide

Our guide Monty was extremely knowledgeable and very helpful, especially when taking photos by advising which angles would be best. It would have been very challenging to do the museum on our own. We would have missed many hidden gems.

Victor was our amazing guide. He was very knowledgeable and accommodating for those in our party with limited mobility. He was very hospitable in that he walked us out to our taxi. Would recommend him to anyone who is looking at doing this tour.

Justine was superb and I enjoyed the Louvre’s Musée des arts decoratifs very much. Viator made the whole experience seamless and easy.

The guide showed us everything we asked to see and more. He was very knowledgeable and totally at home in the Louvre. He knew exactly where to go and set a relaxed pace.

This tour included some of the important pieces of art in the Louvre including, of course, the Mona Lisa. Victor, our tour guide, had a clear plan for the significant pieces for us to see and extensive background and understanding of art which allowed him to broaden our knowledge of art and The Louvre. In addition, he was able to answer any questions we had with detailed information. Unfortunately, Victor did not use a wireless audio tour guide system which made it difficult to hear him especially because the Louvre is very crowded. Otherwise, we would have given this tour a 5 Star rating.

Monty was the best! Was able to see all the highlights and hear interesting stories and fun facts.

The guide (Diyan?) was excellent. She was helpful, accommodating, and her knowledge of the art was beyond impressive.

We were looking for a highlights tour of the Louvre and this exactly met our needs! There is so much to see and you can get lost easily in the vast rooms! With a personal phone call ahead of time we were able to schedule what we really wanted to see in the 2 hour time frame. It was perfect!! Our guide Victor was extremely knowledgeable not just about the exhibits we wanted to visit, but also about the history of the Louvre and he knew just how to get through the maze of rooms so we could visit everything we wanted to in a short time!

Viator did a good job with communication/ I did not realize viator subcontracts with local tour companies- our guide ended up being sick so they had to get last minute replacements so tour started 30 minutes late. But guide was very knowledgeable and did a good job of getting us to see all the highlights of the louve. Nice you get to skip all the long lines.

Alex was a very engaging, energetic and knowledgeable guide. We don’t have any background in art history, so having Alex guide us through the Louvre made the experience much more interesting and valuable. Totally worth the cost.

Hugo, is an excellent guide. He was prompt and welcomed us warmly and explained what the tour was about. We went through the check in process quickly and without any problems. He was able to take us through the Louvre with a process and showed us the exhibits with outstanding clarity and a warmth that we felt was very personable. His explanations and outstanding knowledge were evident throughout the tour and was able to communicate easily with us about the various works. At all time we felt very comfortable and confident in the way the tour was conducted. Hugo was able to share some wonderful insights and stories, often with a little humour which made the experience so special. It was a 10/10 for us and he managed to avoid the growing crowds where possible and focus on important things to assist our understanding. Well done and would highly recommend this and Hugo, instead of the massive line we saw as we departed.

Nicolas was a great tour guide! He did his best to keep our little kids entertained while touring the Lourve, but also helped cover the history behind many art pieces. He was very patient with us and even took the time to take some photos of us. While it was expensive, a private experience was 100x better than what we saw the other tourists in large groups doing.

Best Tour we’ve ever been on. Our tour guide, John, was knowledgeable, enthusiastic, interesting, and entertaining. We had listed a number of objects that we wanted to see, and John had looked at the list and led us to all that were currently on display. He gave us historical context and things to look for in each object. As we walked through the various rooms, he made sure that we were not delayed by large groups or crowds. We were all incredibly impressed with his vast knowledge of the Louvre and its objects. Thoroughly enjoyed his sharing of knowledge and his enthusiasm for each object and why each item was important. He answered all our questions and when he did not have a thorough enough knowledge to answer he told us so. I believe that only happened once on our tour. We thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience. John is truly a master craftsman. His guidance through this vast expanse of rooms and art was amazing.

We did many Viator tours over our travels and this one was one of our favorites. Our guide was fantastic. We asked for a general overview for our 2 hours and we learned a lot but it was also not overload. Great experience.

The “Dayin” Tour company provided a seamless sign up and offered a 6:30-9p tour of a 3/4 empty Louvre which is normally packed with people. John our guide gave us ( my 13 year son and I) so much history and knowledge in 2.5 hours - the time flew by - so sad to see it end. John was literally a 6 out of 5 stars, best tour guide i think I’ve ever had. And he really was able to curate the tour to my don who is in the middle of studying history and classical art.

I would highly recommend, Monty as a guide to anyone to take his tour and they will be delighted as he is very emphatic especially with people with reduce mobility & wheelchair (which we highly appreciated) 👏 After mona Lisa and few othe famous artworks in the Denon wing, Monty also helped us getting to Napoleans Apartment as there is no direct connection from denon to other side due to stairs and restoration works.

We did a two hour private tour and provided a list of art pieces we wanted to see in advance so our tour guide could plan out our tour. Not only did we cover all of those highlights but we also learned about some of the other impressive or interesting pieces that were on the way. Our guide was well versed on what we were seeing and was able to answer all of our questions. This was a fantastic way to see the highlights of the museum without having to spend hours walking around.

Amazing. In my opinion, this is the only way to see the Louvre. My wife and I spent several days in Paris earlier this week and this tour was the highlight of the trip. Being a private tour, it was more expensive than some others, but it is absolutely worth it. This confirms that you get what you pay for. Our tour guide, Alex, was incredible. His knowledge of all aspects of art and history is astonishing. His friendly and kind personality made it even better. Dayin Paris contacted me before the tour to see if there was anything in particular we wanted to see. Since it would take days to see everything in the Louvre we told them we wanted to focus on the biggest attractions. Alex was great and made sure we saw the highlights but also took the time to show us the small things that many people would not know to look for. I can’t stress this enough—go see Alex!

Alex was AMAZING! It is such a huge place and so much history and information there is no way to get thru it all… the three hr private tour SO WORTH IT! No lines… fast entrance… went to quiet and almost empty areas first… Felt amazing to spend two hours woth almost zero others as Alex knew what exhibits were closed and where other tourists would be. Well worth the cost and thoroughly enjoyed Alex!! Very very knowledgeable!

Walid was an excellent guide and we really enjoyed visiting areas of the Louvre that we have never been through before (e.g. Assyrian section). His thoroughness with each of the pieces of art (and sections we went through) was fascinating. We love private tours because of the personalization and ability to divert to pieces of art when we want more information, asking as many questions as possible, and having undivided attention.

This was an exceptionally unique tour! On the first day we were scheduled, the Louvre employees went on strike. The company quickly reached out to inform us and offered several options. They rebooked us for the very next day the Louvre reopened and wow, it was worth the wait! We knew the Louvre was massive and filled with incredible artwork, but this tour went far beyond that. It immersed us in the culture of the time each piece was created, explaining how the art was originally perceived and how it was meant to be enjoyed then versus now. Along the way, we also learned fascinating facts about the Louvre itself and how it functions. The sheer volume of artwork and history in the Louvre can be overwhelming, but this tour made it feel manageable and truly enjoyable, allowing us to appreciate the art as it was intended.
