Challenging start to our tour. The van had a defect in the front bumper that our guide was unaware of and when we stopped for our break the bumper got stuck on curb and partially fell off. The guide tried to fix it but couldn’t so his travel office dispatched a mechanic who was able to remove it bur this all put us behind almost 2 hours. Our group opted to continue the tour and eliminate the stop at the 2nd castle. We still had 90 minutes at the first and third castles and thoroughly enjoyed both. Our guide, Gabriel was amazing! He handled the stressful situation with the van calmly and ensured we still enjoyed our tour. The tour company rebated the cost of entry in the 2nd castle although most of the participants feel a larger amount of the cost should be rebated due to the loss of time waiting for the van to be fixed.

Itinerary
Model of the Renaissance traditions, the Chenonceau Castle is an architectural masterpiece. Known as the "Château des Dames", five women played a part to the interior decoration, making Chenonceau one of the most romantic castle in the Loire valley. The guide will introduce you to the history of the castle before your free time to stroll at your leisure through the sumptuous gardens.
Next comes Cheverny, a refined, welcoming château known for its beautifully preserved interiors and classic French elegance. It offers a different vibe—less monumental than Chambord, but wonderfully “lived-in” and polished. Cheverny is also famous in popular culture: it inspired Hergé’s Moulinsart in the Tintin comics.
Your final stop is the Loire Valley’s most majestic showpiece: Chambord, the largest and most spectacular château in the region. This is pure Renaissance grandeur—towers, terraces, and a skyline that looks like a fairytale city built on a roof. Inside, you’ll explore freely and discover the château’s most famous feature: the intricate double-helix staircase, often attributed to Leonardo da Vinci. Chambord is about scale and ambition—take your time to appreciate how monumental and visionary this place feels. It’s the perfect final chapter of the day—charming, cultured, and easy to enjoy before heading back to Paris.

I need to give credit to Viator for professionalism in doing the right thing by not canceling our tour. We were the only participants. I doubt they made money off of us. The tour itself was lovely and our guide Sergei was extremely well educated on the subject. He took care of us, and I felt extremely safe and well looked after. Do not hesitate to book this tour.
It’s a long day but very much worth it! All three castles are special in their own way, Chambord is insane.
Good weather, good guide and fair time schedule. If you dont want to drive but want to visit castles, this is a good option for one day.
Our guide was fantastic! He worked with our young family and other couples. He was on time. Everything was just easy. The 3 castles were spectacular.
Rolland has been an amazing guide! He took the time to explain thoroughly the history of each castle. Very friendly as well!
I had a wonderful time visiting three beautiful Loire Valley chateau. Chambord was beyond words. Antonio was great, as well!
What scenic and beautiful tour. Just wish we had more time at the second stop and less time at the third stop. We were very rushed through the second stop and had way too much time at the third. Also a warning that it is a long day and the van isn't very comfortable.
great van great service from Alex the tour guide great information from Alex our tour guide beautiful chateaus and scenery
Great choice of castles. The guide was knowledgable and very nice! We liked him a lot. The tour was well organised and I would highly recommend the tour for a day trip.
We could Not go to the tour because of the transportation strike in France. I am requesting a refund because it was not our fault. We could not go to Paris. I called the agency in Psris and they told me to ask you for the refund They agreed that I should have a refund. The dosier number in France Tourism is 723422. We were 3 people. My name is Gloria Debeljuk.tour date was December 28,2019. Thank you Gloria Debeljuk
We walked to the tour company and arrived early because we were told to do so. The tour guide showed up an hour late! We then drove over 2 1/2 hours to the Loire Valley. The driver never spoke. We were given no information. We were then dropped off at each castle throughout the day. The driver never narrated our "tour". The castles are extraordinary, but use a different company.
Our guide/driver Nicolas was great - very knowledgeable and a safe driver. We had the perfect amount of time to spend in each castle. It makes for a long day of visiting so make sure you are rested and dressed for a lot of walking.
This was one of my favourite day trips from Paris and the Chateau de Chenonceau has been on my bucket list for a very long time! It's quite a long day, so be prepared and bring something to eat and drink as the bus ride is approx 2-3 hours one way. Nevertheless, we went on a very hot day in September and absolutely loved all the stops, as well as the countryside along the way! Chenonceau and Chambord is absolutely worth the drive, Cheverny is quite small but still very interesting. Fairy tale day in France well spent!!
We took the van tour, not the bus tour. Van accommodated up to 8 people and ours only had 6 so that was nice. Would not have wanted 8 because then two would have to sit upfront with driver. We had a great tour guide, Serge, who is very knowledgeable and great personality. Saw 3 chateaux which was plenty for the day. Had enough time to see each. Wine tasting at the end was a little weak.
This trip had some ups and downs, but overall was very positive. As noted by other reviewers, you are quite dependent on others on the tour. Another passenger was 30 minutes late from the second stop, which cut into our time for the last stop significantly. The first castle, Chenonceau, had beautiful gardens and we enjoyed a meal in the café, but the line was so long to get inside of the castle that we did not have time to do so. Still, our daughter enjoyed the maze and we all enjoyed the beautiful gardens. The second castle, Cheverney, was a bit odd and we would not have missed anything if we skipped this one. But the last castle, Chambord, was amazing, just absolutely massive and stunning. The host of our trip was great - friendly and knowledgeable. If I had it to do again, I would book a day trip to Chambord and skip the other castles.
Very beautiful castles, very good guide and driver (Timéo), small groups, perfect visiting times, and great weather. In short, a very nice excursion, worry-free and nothing to organize on your own.
The excursion is certainly very interesting but also tiring and even difficult to tolerate if it is hot, especially since you are stuck in a minibus with eight seats... The castles you visit (Chenonceau, Cheverny, and Chambord) are among the most prestigious and well-maintained – at least for the most part – in the Loire. Unfortunately, the schedule is too unbalanced: Three full hours at the Château de Chenonceau compared to 45 minutes at Cheverny and barely one hour at Chambord. The driver-guide (Frédéric) was quite nice.
Beautiful visit, very interesting, and we had a great guide, Roland. He is very kind, knowledgeable about his subjects, and it is easy for us to listen to him with interest. I recommend this excursion Thank you
Lots of interesting information about castles and even Paris
Gabriel, our guide, was really great...affable, friendly, kind.. was interested in everyone and this in 3 languages..French, Spanish and English... To recommend with him
There are many castles for so little time I have no more to say, I have no more to say, I have no more to say, they are many characters to express an opinion
12 HOURS BEFORE DEPARTURE WE WERE INFORMED THAT NONHACIN THE TOUR DUE TO LACK OF REGISTRANTS. Total disrespect as we had everything planned for that day. Conclusion that day was lost, because on Mondays museums close and we already knew Paris. Then we saw in the Tripadvaisor review that the same thing happened to others
Très belle visite. Nous aurions apprécié que le guide se présente lors de l’accueil et qu’on nous explique à l’avance le déroulement de la journée (heure de retour, arrêt repas et pauses)
One of the best experiences we have had! Eduardo, our guide, is very pleasant, attentive and gives very good explanations throughout the tour. He is very gentle and very kind. We highly recommend wearing warm clothes in the mornings. At times the cold and wind can take you by surprise.
Superb, absolutely worth visiting by purchasing tickets in advance. Other castles are also a must-see nearby.
The castle of Chambord is worth a visit. Inside many beautiful objects, furniture, paintings that are many years old. Nice gardens too. Entrance, parking, catering,...everything goes smoothly. Very pleasant experience.
We made this visit in July 2023. First of all, this is not a guided tour at all. The “guide” takes us only to the various castles and pays the entrance fees. Also the management of the schedule was not well done. The driver was not clear enough about their appointment, which caused some participants to be late, while others waited wisely instead of meeting on time. A lot of delay was made to the first visit so the second visit was cut short and the third visit (chamber, the largest and largest castle) was listened to even more (50 minutes instead of 90!) Don’t expect to take an audio guide, it’s not included in the price and even if you want to pay for it out of pocket you absolutely don’t have time. If you are a photo lover take this tour for the beautiful scenery. If you are a history lover this tour is not for you. A great disappointment for 420$ Canadian for 2 people!
YOU ARE CANCELLED THE EXCURSION ALREADY PAID FOR WITHOUT EXPLANATION. We contract with this agency (which is not the official Agency of.tourism,) the excursion to the Castles of the Loire, for the 29th of June. A few days earlier we were called by a lady who told us they were proceeding to cancel the trip. We called on the phone and we were helped by an employee who spoke perfectly Spanish who would not explain why it had been cancelled if it was already paid. We want to let the Enterprise know that this worker treated us very incorrectly and ill-manneredly and they should think about whether to keep her in this position of direct dealing with the customer since they will lose many customers, just as they have lost us. After the deplorable way we were treated we could not hire another agency as they had completed such excursions and the only possibility left was to buy it back from them or run out of going to the Loire Castles. We have been told that it will take 8 to 12 days to repay the amount but to start we had to pay twice, total: 560€ and lucky we were still staying 3 more days in Paris. The second excursion we booked was on July 1. The guide is called Alejandro and is very professional and polite. I have to say that this excursion went great thanks to him but I WILL NEVER REBOOK WITH THIS AGENCY BECAUSE YOU CAN NOT BE TRUSTED TO DO THE EXCURSION AND THAT IS INADMISSIBLE. We have always gone with Civitatis or Viator who have always guaranteed us to do the excursions and we have never had any problems. We hired her with them thinking that she was, by the name, the official tourism agency of France but we have already seen that it is just a misleading trade name. Between cancellation and disrespect by the employee an agency DISASTER.
It is always very pleasant to find yourself at the time of the seventeenth century and admire this architecture of classical style, rooms completely in magnificent staircase condition. A castle that has belonged to a family for centuries. The park of beauty with its centuries-old trees with many species, a watercourse and a kennel where a hundred dogs participate in the hunts at Court. Let's not forget the Tintin comic strip that Hergé was inspired by: the Château de Moulinssard. Must see
We took the tour on a Thursday at 07.00 am. The tour was very enjoyable on a bus that met safety standards. Our guide explained in detail each of the points visited. The castles really are beautiful and although the time to visit each one is limited, we take some beautiful memories of each one of them. As points to improve I can say that the English language of the guide was not very fluent although in Spanish had no problems. Some kind of snack could be added since the round gets a little long, especially because of the Parisian traffic. Overall the Enterprise complied and is recommended.
Nous avons visité trois châteaux en un jour, les châteaux étaient impressionnants et leur histoire respective très intéressantes. Merci au guide pour ses explications.
