Andrea was a terrific host. She covered all the basics of our Montmartre walking tour well, but in addition, told stories about the area and some of its residents in an engaging and compelling manner. Thank you, Andrea!

Cabaret Moulin Rouge is the ultimate symbol of bohemian Montmartre. Toulouse-Lautrec did a lot of his painting work there. Dancers and clients both sat for him. A lot of his famous works depicts the cabarets of Montmartre.
Montmartre Village is the heart of old Paris charm, with narrow, cobblestone streets, ivy-covered buildings, and a cozy, bohemian atmosphere. Once a haven for artists like Picasso and Modigliani, this village vibe is alive in the bustling cafes, art-filled squares, and tucked-away gardens. A stroll here feels like stepping back in time, with each corner revealing a new story.
Moulin de la Galette is a beloved symbol of Montmartre's history, known for its iconic windmill and lively past. Once a bustling dance hall, it inspired masterpieces by Renoir and Van Gogh, capturing the spirit of 19th-century Paris. Today, it remains a picturesque reminder of Montmartre’s artistic charm, nestled among cobbled streets and leafy paths
Place du tertre is often referred to as Artists' Square. Local artists sell their art there. Or you see them put the final touches to their paintings. You can also have your portrait drawn. Or your caricature, if you dare!
The locals of Montmartre have their own vineyards. And they are proud of it. The plot of land is small, but it is very scenic. Hard to find, but so worth it. The view is striking - with vines in the foreground, and the white sacré coeur church in the background. Sacre Coeur is a world-known Montmartre icon. It is a striking sight. All white and shiny, and with all of Paris lying at its feet (and yours)

Happy to say Anna (shortened) was a fantastic guide with lots of information, history, stories and such a positive and pleasant person! Our day was not the best for weather; windy, cool but stayed dry and Anna did her best to manage those conditions. Montmartre is certainly worth a visit all on its own. It was the epicenter of much of what Paris became and how it was built.
Ana was very animated and interesting. Our girls group really enjoyed the tour and loved all the sights and views. 10/10
Really enjoyed my tour of Montmartre with Camille. She kept our group together and provided a lot of history and entertaining stories about Montmartre. Definitely would recommend for a good introduction to the neighborhood.
Excellent walk, very informative and friendly guide. She didn’t walk too fast or rush us & was happy to answer questions. VERY good value for money.
Lovely guide, good tips about the area
Easy to find meeting place. Guide knowledgeable and engaging. Highly recommend.
Our guide was excellent. She was amusing and easy to understand. I was amazed that we got to the top of Montmartre without feeling like we had climbed a mountain!
This was a super charming tour. My teenage grandsons are still raving about the experience. Perfect way to really see Montemart Kathleen
Highly recommend tours with Discover Tours and this one of Montmartre was excellent. The guide's knowledge was endless and she had a wonderful personality. The terrain was very steep and the day was hot, but Anna made sure we stopped in the shade and had frequent breaks during the climb. If in the area, this is a must!
An enjoyable and informative walk, easy to do with surprisingly minimal steps. Ana was an engaging guide and she made the village come alive.
We thoroughly enjoyed Ana's informative and entertaining Montmatre Discover Walk. She provided interesting information throughout, filled out the history of the district and showed us some beautiful scenes. We are very pleased to have done this walking tour and know you will enjoy it too!
Nima the tour guide was very knowledgeable and articulate. He knew the history of town and took time to take us through the history as related to area.
Bad start with poor meeting point. Lots of people around with not great description of exact meeting location. Guide was 1/2 hour late due to metro problems, Tour itself went well and guide was knowledgeable and enthusiastic.
Our guide, "Leo", was terrific. She is a Paris native who speaks perfect English so it was easy for us to understand. She had great stories to tell us at every turn which really enhanced our appreciation for Montmartre. She was easy to talk to and very open to questions. This was definitely time and money well spent!
Maria was a great guide. Very knowledgeable and friendly. Perfect English. Answered every question. And Monmarte tour is a must!
Nima was a great and amazing guide. Handled the large group very well and made it a good experience for all.
What an amazing experience with Yago. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the history of Montmartre and took us through every street with intention. His questions, prep work and story-telling was incredibly on point. 100% recommend.
It was excellent . The girl who was our guide was very good . So happy we did this . I have been to these walks 10yrs back and I must say it is still the same. The quality is the same .
Great tour. Super knowledgeable tour guide. Highly recommended for a family. The whole family learned so much. We would definitely do it again.
Top notch. If you have the time, this is the way to get an insight into a Paris neighborhood. Our guide was brilliant! She brought us to streets in Montmartre we would not have found on our own, shared history and significance of the area and buildings. We have done several tours with Discover Walks and they have all been fabulous.
Very pleasent and charmy our guide Nicole explained us all the history and the secrets of the artistic life in the Village of Montmartre! And he suggested us a wonderful France restaurant which we enjoed after the tour!
An enjoyable and entertaining walkabout with our guide. She was very jovial and knew a great deal. Even the rain and cold didn't deter her from pointing out the history of the area. Well worth it!
Our guide is so humorous and knowledgeable. Ilwe really enjoyed learning about the streets and history and abit about being french. She even took us to the back of Sacre Cœur and its more beautiful than the front.
Nicole was amazing, so much detail and insight about the area. We didn’t even feel how we reached the top:) i definitely recommend this tour!
Nima was great, he was energetic and shared the interesting history of the area. The area has a rich history of art and culture. Highly recommend:D
Fantastic! Our guide Anaelle was knowledgeable, friendly and personable. We learned a lot, saw a lot. Excellent and highly recommend this if you are in the area.
Very kind and knowledgeable guide. Got some great info. Tour needed to include La Maison Rose which I read about but we didn’t see. I’m sure if I would have asked her she would have gone by but tour company should include that. Otherwise just wonderful!
This tour was a fun and interesting introduction to Montmartre. Anaelle was an expert in the history of the area and was thoroughly engaging. She artfully explained the history of Montmartre with fun facts that we kept in mind throughout the tour. She was also able to answer any questions we had. Merci beaucoup for a terrific tour.
A wonderful recommendation by another tour guide led me to this part of Paris I didn't know about. Our guide was cheerful, funny and fact filled and gave us extra time, even in the rain, to cover this area. A fun experience.
This was a very good tour of Montmartre. The guide was excellent. I’m sorry I don’t remember her name. She gave so much information about the history and area. The tour takes you from the streets of Montmartre all the way upto Sacre Cour and then at the end you come down from the steps. We made one mistake after the tour ended that we missed visiting the area where local artists and sketch artists are. It is apparently to the side and it wasn’t obvious once you are at the top.
Yago was an excellent guide, with a unique perspective in art history and stories of Montmartre! We went with our adult son, and he really enjoyed the tour and commentaries. Yago is fun and informative!
We really enjoyed this tour. The guide was wonderful and very friendly and funny. I would definitely recommend this tour
Very informative, nice size of group and a beautiful walk. The pace was good. We would enjoy more of this type of site seeing when back in the area.
Our walking tour of Montmartre was a highlight of our visit to Paris! We'd been to Montmartre before, but this walking tour showed us another side to Montmartre and we were able to discover so many streets and paths that we'd never seen before. Our guide also told us a number of interesting stories that made the tour so much fun. He was engaging and passionate about the area and this helped to make the tour exciting, interesting and entertaining.
The Discover Walks Montmartre Tour with Matthieu was fantastic! He was such a friendly, fun, and knowledgeable tour guide. His insights and history of the area made the tour memorable and special. We loved how Matthieu pointed out everything we wanted to see and so much more, including several movie and tv show shooting locations. His big reveal of Sacré-Cœur was perfect. This walking tour was definitely one of the highlights of our trip.
Peter was an excellent guide and very knowledgeable about the history of Bruge. He told lots of humorous stories which made the experience very enjoyable.
This was a brilliant experience on Tuesday 2nd September pm( apologies we can't remember the guides name), for a guided tour of Montmartre. Loads of interesting information delivered about the history, culture, painters and musicians who lived there. We liked the clarity and the guide captured British humour very well. It was a great couple of hours and a fantastic recommendation to eat at Pigalle Bouillon restaurant! Thanks so.much Carolyn and Paul Morris
We loved exploring Montmartre from a different angle, winding around streets to get to the top. Saw a neighbourhood entirely different to what we knew. Our guide was great- friendly, knowledgeable and a polo be with.
Very disappointing The tour guide never showed up He wasn’t picking calls I wasted my money on cab getting to the location and had to go back because no one attended to me
Elyse was a great tour guide, she was really fun and engaging and showed us all the little nooks and crannies that make Montmarte so special. We learned so much and enjoyed every second! She gave us great recommendations at the end of the tour as well!
Anna was a wonderful tour guide. She was pleasant, knowledgeable of history, and thoughtful of us. I say that because when it started to rain unexpectedly, she would not use her umbrella. She insisted that one of us do so. The tour itself involved much walking on hills, but also had many stops. Anna was helpful in directing us to places not included on the tour (thrift stores, in our case). Thank you, Anna
My friend and I had a wonderful tour of Montmartre with Nicole. She was knowledgeable about art history and the history of Montmartre. If you like a low key, small group activity, I would highly recommend this tour. In addition to our fabulous tour guide, the “office” was very professional and responsive. What a lovely concept! Thank you!
Our guide Mathieu was fantastic, knowledgeable and took time to answer everyone's questions. Montmarte has such an interesting history and great architecture. The story of Sacré-Cœur and the Parisian attitude towards it is probably something we'd never really have learned. Our guide took us to a vantage point which is likely overlooked by most people. There were too many other cool places and facts to mention, but from now on I will be taking these walks anytime I am in Paris. Walking around on your own doesn't begin to compare. 100% worth it.
We had a really great tour with Nicola, who took us around Montmarte. She was funny, lively, her stories gave great perspective on the artists who lived there; the architecture of the place, hidden streets/gems. She pointed out the famous restaurants and the artists that had captured it in famous drawings. We had a great time with her and she did a wonderful job! When we got to the top, the view was stunning and we also realized she had taken on a lovely gentle route up - uncrowded by many tourists because on the opposite way down, the place was thronging w tourists wanting to see Montmarte. First time walk with Discover Walks!
Our tour guide was friendly and spoke English well. She shared interesting stories about the area and I especially liked the quiet and quaint areas she showed us. It felt like we were locals! Disappointed that our group was around 12 people, when they advertised small groups of 6.
Too much to walk for elder persons. Although it is very interesting, we were too old to walk for up and down streets. It should be advised.
Nicole was our guide on our Montmarte adventure. She did an excellent job of mixing facts and sidenotes "Buuuuuuuut..." lol as we zig-zagged up the hill from the Moulon Rouge to the Place du Tertre. She was very aware of the different levels of walking capabilities and made sure to watch the group and slow down as dictated. A very informative and fun experience.
Ana was super kind and made this tour of Montmartre unforgettable. She is very knowledgeable about the area, provides fascinating history, and is a fun tour guide. this tour is a must!
Max was a fantastic guide for our tour of Montmartre. He was very knowledgeable of the city, the history and also had a really great perspective on what it’s like to live there present day. Whereas some tour guides just onboard you with an endless flow of information, Max was able to keep the tour light with his humor and jovial personality while blending in historical accounts and facts making the tour interesting and enjoyable. Cannot recommend him enough!
