The walking food tour in Montmartre was terrific. Erica had a lot of information to share. Our group was a good size, so sometimes it was a little hard to hear her when we were spread out. My favorite stops were the fresh chocolate croissant, pork sausage and cheesy and I mean cheesy potatoes, and the macaroons. Something that would have been nice to know is that there are some hills you will be climbing. Erica was great having scheduled stops along the way and sharing information to distract us, but if I was traveling with my mom who uses a cane it could have caused issues and I would have wanted to know ahead of time to plan for it. Another thing that would have been helpful to know is that where we started, it not where we ended. I would have bought croissants and bread at our first stop had I known we weren't returning there. Make sure you are hungry and you have your camera. The food was fun to try and had generous portions (except the macaroons, only 1 lol). Erica led us to some beautiful spots to shoot pictures of the city. She was friendly, helpful and had lots to share. When she ended the tour, Erica left us in a spot filled with things to do and see. It was a great way to spend the day and still have the afternoon to explore.

Itinerary
Step into a true boulangerie de quartier, an artisanal neighborhood bakery that prides itself on organic ingredients and traditional sourdough. Here, you will taste two perfect French classics: a piece of their baguette tradition and chouquettes.
A true family-owned Montmartre institution that has been serving locals since 1889. Their specialty is seafood, and their award-winning team has even won the annual oyster shucking contest to prove it! You'll taste their expertise with a flight of four French oysters, each from a different coastal region, all perfectly paired with a crisp glass of white wine.
To experience a true taste of Parisian daily life, we'll visit a traditional artisan butcher shop beloved by the local community for its high-quality French meats and house-made specialties. Here, you will sample a slice of their exquisite rosette a classic of French charcuterie.
A charming brasserie recently revamped with a new menu designed by French "Top Chef" contestant Chloe Charles. Here, you'll experience a classic regional speciality: a hearty sausage served with their famous aligot. Be ready for a show, as this delicious mix of mashed potatoes and fresh cheese is stretched and served tableside, creating its iconic, cheesy texture right before your eyes.
Next, we'll visit the locals' favorite cheese shop (fromagerie) in Montmartre, a place that specializes in high-quality cheeses from small, independent producers. You'll enjoy a curated tasting of several French PDO cheeses: a mix of cow, goat, and sheep's milk, all perfectly paired with a sweet fruit jelly.
We'll indulge our sweet tooth at a unique artisan chocolate shop. For the past decade, they have been the only chocolatier in Paris to roast 100% of their own cocoa beans in their central city workshop. You'll taste the exceptional quality this bean-to-bar process creates with a sample of their signature chocolate and a delicious chocolate-hazelnut spread.
This artisanal shop specializes in liquors and jams made from rare varieties of citrus, all grown on their family farm. You'll taste the sunshine with a sample of their bright citrus jam and a delicate, house-made amaretti cookie flavored with almond and citrus zest.
Explore the historic Le Bateau Lavoir, a legendary hub of the Belle Époque art scene. Once home to Picasso, Modigliani, and other avant-garde artists, this modest building played a key role in modern art history.
Admire La Maison Rose, a picturesque pink house and a favorite haunt for artists, which witnessed the tragic love story that inspired Picasso's Blue Period.
Uncover the hidden vineyard of Clos Montmartre, one of the last in central Paris, offering a glimpse into the area's long history of viticulture and the celebrated Harvest Festival.
Step into Le Lapin Agile, an iconic cabaret dating back to the 1850s, once a vibrant meeting spot for struggling artists like Picasso, Modigliani, and Utrillo.
Visit one of Paris’s most famous pastry shops, renowned for its macarons crafted with creative, seasonal flavors. Enjoy a tasting of a signature macaron: with rose, raspberry, and lychee, or with milk chocolate and passion fruit.
Behold the Sacre-Coeur Basilica, an emblematic monument atop Montmartre hill, symbolizing atonement and offering breathtaking views of Paris.

Salma was an incredible guide and we had a wonderful time. Would 100% do again!
We joined a food tour in Montmartre. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was pleasant, but unfortunately we didn’t visit all the places mentioned in the description. Overall we liked it, but we’d appreciate closer adherence to the program.
What a fun tour, full of delicious bites, drinks, and sites. Croissants, oysters, chocolate, cheese, macarons, all yummy, especially the wine! But my favorite part was wandering up the hill through Monmartre, learning about the artists who founded the community, and seeing Sacre Coeur. Amazing afternoon!
This tour was more than we anticipated. Kiley, our guide was very knowledgeable, patient, and kind. It was predominantly an older group, and she worked very well with us. The food was great, her commentary was perfect. Would highly recommend.
Our tour guide Salma was amazing! Very informative and friendly. The food was delicious. We had a great time with the other couples on the tour.
Harriet was awesome! The food we had and places we visited were great although I was a little disappointed at the total amount of food for the price we paid.
Our food tour guide was Harriet. She was amazing and shared so much information with us. It was way more than a food tour. The wine, oysters, cheeses, sausage, and the famous mash potatoes were all amazing. Definitely take the tour, you won’t be disappointed.
Sten was our guide for the Montmartre tour and he did a great job! Super knowledgeable and friendly. It’s a nice way to experience the neighborhood.
The first day we arrived in Paris, my husband and I took this food tour with Sten. It was a great way to see some of Montmartre and learn about the history, as well as, try different foods at some of the restaurants which were within walking distance of our hotel. Sten was a great guide who had a lot of knowledge of the area and he was very engaging with our group. We enjoyed all of our food stops and it was a great introduction to Montmartre. I would recommend this tour to others.
Betsy was a wonderful guide. Not only was she knowledgeable about the food and wine but about the area, the artists and the history. Excellent tour.
Salma was great. The tour was great. However through no fault of the tour group I had a terrible time traveling to Montmartre because of the protests. Remember to leave twice as much time as necessary to get there. The streets were crazy with traffic. Obviously if you’re staying in Montmartre that’s not a problem, however, I was staying near the Notre Dame Cathedral.
Betsy is an excellent guide very friendly and full of enthusiasm and great information. The food and drink was all fabulous. A great tour I would definitely recommend thank you Betsy x
This was a wonderful tour. It gives you a sample of Montmartre, which can be a little overwhelming. Our guide, Sten, knew a ton about the history and area, and was able to answer all of our questions. The food was amazing, and I felt that you get plenty along the way. I highly recommend this tour!
Great way to spend an afternoon in Montmartra! Cecilia was a great tour guide! Took us to some really great spot
Cecilia was a wonderful guide. She took us the multiple restaurants, contacted each restaurant before we arrived to assure they were ready for us. She described what we were going to experience at each restaurant when we arrived. She kept us moving at a comfortable pace. The guide incorporated information about the history of the food, French standards that set the food apart from similar food found in other areas of the world. She also shared history of Paris and art into the tour. The food and drink were fantastic. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and highly recommend.
Hugo was great, knowledgeable and friendly!
Wow! Silvana gave us the ultimate Paris Food Tour! She is so knowledgeable, entertaining and fun, but most importantly, she is passionate about her job! She makes the city come alive with her information and made us all fall in love with French cuisine! She convinced my husband to eat OYSTERS! She is GOOD!! Fabulous tour and fabulous tour guide.
Sten was great. It was a fun few hours ans very informative.
A great tour! Salma was so kind and knowledgeable and made the experience very enjoyable and memorable!!
Cecilia did a great job, explaining the food and origins! The only tasting I didn’t care for was oysters, but my wife ate my share. We’ve been to Paris before but this was a nice add on. Cecilia covered the local history of the area too.
Excellent food tour with Sten. The food selection was appropriate to the area, including oysters if you wanted them. Sten was friendly and his knowledge of French history and gastronomy were a perfect combination. The others in the group were fun to chat with too.
Amazing tour of Montmartre with the best guide Erica, great food selections and beautiful site seeing, highly recommend!
As someone who has taken many food tours in various cities, this one was excellent! The tour flowed at a perfect pace and we tried a variety of foods at unique restaurants and shops I may not have found on my own. From pain au chocolate, to fresh oysters, to yuzu lemon liqueur, to chocolates from a Michelin-star chef, everything was tasty and appropriately portioned! The Montmartre area was beautiful to explore and our tour guide, Sten, did a great job of sharing local history and educating us about the foods we were eating. Thanks for a lovely morning!
There was a group of 8 of us that took this food tour. Our guide, Sten was excellent! He was knowledgeable about the food and history of Montmartre. His calm and friendly demeanor was perfect and he had a true interest in food. The food and wine tastings were delicious . I highly recommend this tour especially if you are fortunate enough to get Sten as your guide! Skol! 🥂
We were looking for a culinary tour that was a cut above. This one delivered. It immerses you in the Monmartre culinary scene and you will really get to know, taste, and appreciate some of the best of Montmartre. If you are mobile enough to take this tour, and able to gently climb some of steep hills of Monmartre, you will be richly rewarded. That’s bc you’ll be embedded in one of the most historic and artistic areas of Paris and see where the great French artists lived and made history. We were attracted to this tour for the food tasting but got much, much more as we now have an appreciation for Monmartre and its artistic community. I will say that it’s not for someone who hates walking up a few steep hills and stairs (It’s worth it though, trust me) but If you do, make sure you wear sneakers, and if it’s a hot day carry a water bottle with you. Now to the food tasting part of the tour. Our tour guides Clare and Erika planned a fulfilling food tour. I liked the way they combined some tasting while seated at a few local spots, with other tasting with hand-held items on the go. We were more than full by the end, trying everything from delectable French baguettes and croissants to oysters on the half shell (four different kinds!), shrimp, French sausage served with a kind of cheesy, creamy potatoes (my favorite), two kinds of crepes, (one savory and one sweet), tasty chocolates and caramels from the famous French chocolatier Alain Ducasse, and exquisite macarons from the same location where they were actually first created. Clare’s style is easygoing, and VERY informative. Her grasp of French history allows her to point out the historic locations and explain why each is revered by the locals. Her accent in English is slightly New Zealand but she is French through and through, and it shows through her presentation. She knows the proprietors, and where to take you. My only suggestion would be for her to speak a bit louder because with the hustle and bustle on the streets of Monmartre, it can get a bit noisy and crowded. Erika was excellent as well. Her background in the culinary arts added so much to the experience. They made a great team. All in all we were very happy with this tour and therefore can highly recommend it to others.
Overall, the tour was great. Our guide, Jesita, was fantastic. Couple of suggestions: keep the tour to a smaller radius to make it a bit easier for out of town guests to get back to the metro, etc. Also, Strongly encourage the use of a microphone for the guide and ear pieces for guests. Between the road noise… different accents… and saving the guides voice, this would be a big help for everyone.
Our guide Sten expertly guided us through Montmatre. We tasted a variety of delicacies ranging from croissants, cheeses, wines, and oysters. Sten was knowledgeable about the foods, wines, and history and spoke great English. Highly recommend!!!
Lucia was energetic, interactive and knowledgeable. Overall great experience.
We thoroughly enjoyed our food tour of Montmartre with Salma! Not only due to the delicacies we tasted, but because we appreciated the pride that each restauranteur or shop-owner took in sharing their specialties with us. Salma was so knowledgable, both in the epicurean aspects of our tour & in the strands of local Parisian & European history that led to a delicious plate of food. We highly recommend this tour, especially with Salma as guide!
Stan our guide was awesome! Delicious food and exciting tour
Very nice...Sten is a great guide
Sten did a great job! Easy to understand and great food choices!
Sten took us through a wonderful and informative tour of Montmartre. All the food stops were amazing and he gave us lots of details into each food/drink/locations. Would highly recommend! Thanks Sten!
We had such a wonderful experience with our guide, STEN. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the food and wine, but also brought so much interesting history and art into the experience, which made it feel like much more than just a food tour. He had such a calm, warm, and friendly manner and was genuinely a pleasure to spend time with. We especially appreciated how attentive he was to everyone in the group and how hard he worked to make sure everyone was comfortable and enjoying themselves. A really lovely experience with a wonderful guide—we would absolutely recommend him.
Sten was an amazing guide!! Very knowledgeable and provided everyone with us a great time and conversation. 5-stars!!!
Great tour. Sten was an amazing guide. He was knowledgeable and personable.
Sign up for this tour! Every stop is delicious and Sam was a great guide!
She was amazing and very informative. I would highly recommend her to others
Daniel was a great guide and we toured to the top areas and saw the most notable sites in Paris. He taught us how to take the local trains which helped us to know how to use the lines later in our trip. We had a lunch break which was a chance to try any type of lunch experience at our own expense. He was helpful and provided a lot of information. The coffee stop was nice but we preferred to sit outside vs indoors. this could have been a chance to use the bathroom and buy coffee to go rather than a sit down stop. However, this didn't take away from our whole day of touring nor elongate it. The weather wasn't super sunny to go on and do the boat tour so we did it another day and it was easy to board with the tickets supplied as part of this full day tour. I would highly recommend it.
Sten was wonderful and very knowledgeable! This tour is worth the price and everything we tasted was delicious! Book your tour with Sten!
Wonderful, knowledgeable and happy and fun! Tastings were delicious and filling! Sten was a perfect guide!
Great experience Nina was very engaging and knowledgeable. Easy to find pick up location which is helpful
"I thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Sten, our guide, was so informative and I learned so much — not just about food, but the history of the area too. We visited restaurants and food venues I never would have found on my own, and saw fascinating places like Pablo Picasso's first art studio along the way. I was worried this might feel like a generic food tour, but it felt genuinely personalized. Our group was lovely and we had a great time. Highly recommend!"
Sten was fantastic! So easygoing and knowledgeable - highly recommend! ✨
I have been on other food tours in Europe and the US. Silvana’s tour was the best and my favorite. She shared so much history about the food and wines we had. She also made it quite fun.
Sam was a really great guide. Her knowledge of food and history kept us very interested. We got to try places we never would have known about. And she gave us time to make purchases in the shops too. Thanks for a great afternoon!
We had a great time on our tour with Lucia as our guide. We made eight stops and every single one was delicious! We learned more about the Montmartre region as well as the restaurants and shops we stopped at, Lucia did an excellent job explaining the significance of everything. We ended our tour at the Sacre Coeur. We would 100% do this tour again!
Claire was an amazing tour guide. The food was all so amazing, words can't even explain how delicious everything was and how full we were afterwards. Thank you for the perfect food tour!
Great Sten was wonderful. Knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommend!!
