It was easy to find the meeting spot. I enjoyed the tour of the local market. It gave you a chance to get a feel for the area. Chef Alex is passionate about food. He is extremely knowledgeable about both cheese and wine. He offered ways to taste cheese that you wouldn’t have considered ( salt and pepper). The cheese and wine were delicious. Chef Alex is friendly and makes you feel welcome in his restaurant. Highly recommend!!!!

Fantastic!! Great for solo and groups. Chef Alex was fantastic and taught us so much any French food!
Loved this tour with Chef Alex and the small fun group that gathered from around the world. We enjoyed learning about French food and culture and were all surprised to find something new to eat (and enjoy) that we had never tried before. What a great way to spend an afternoon in Paris! Merci!
I was disappointed with this wine and cheese tasting experience and did not feel it delivered value for the price. The wine selections were served very sparingly, and there was little to no explanation about the wines themselves—their origins, tasting notes, pairings, or what made them unique. For a guided tasting, I expected much more education and engagement. The cheese portions were also extremely limited, making it difficult to properly enjoy or compare the pairings. The advertised market visit was particularly underwhelming, consisting of little more than a single strawberry and a piece of chocolate, which felt more like a token stop than a meaningful experience. While Chef Alex was pleasant, the presentation remained fairly surface-level and never went beyond basic information. There was little storytelling, expertise, or effort to create a memorable culinary experience. Overall, the event fell short of expectations and was not worth the investment. I left feeling that the experience lacked both substance and value compared to other wine and food tastings I have attended.
Delightful. Entertaining! Informative! Our first evening in Paris. A fitting way to start our stay. Perfect!
A delightful way to, as Chef Alex, says "learn what it means to be French" when enjoying great food, wine and company!
Great experience. It was fun. We learned a lot, laughed together and enjoyed some wine and cheese. I would recommend this tour
This was a lovely tour. Alex provided a lot of details and history. The cheeses and wines we tasted were amazing. Definitely recommend this tour.
A great history overview of food and wine. We enjoyed Chef Alex and his tour of the Latin Quarter. Would go again!
We enjoyed our time with Chef Alex waling through the fresh bread, vegetables, cheese, fish and wine shops of the latin quarter before sitting down to an evening of wine, cheese and baguettes. Delightful time kept in good humor and conversation with Alex. He clearly knew his wines, cheeses, breads, and many culinary activities.
The activity was cancelled and no mall, no call, nothing to tell me. I travelled from Belgium to Paris especially for that because it was a present I did to my dad for Christmas. The hoster was adorable when I had him on the phone. He had a problem and could make it but ask to Viator to contact us. NOTHING !!! It’s UNACCEPTABLE !!!!
We had such a wonderful experience when we visited Paris. Chef Alex is fun, charming, and knowledgeable and made the entire tasting entertaining and interesting. I would give it 6 stars if I could!
I love the wine and cheese tastings and food tours in Paris, so I'm not a novice to the experience. Alex's was so very different from the rest and we thoroughly enjoyed it. He regaled us with history as we walked through the streets. He encouraged participation with toasting our new friends and ordering a baguette in French. And when we returned to his restaurant to enjoy the wines and cheeses, I discovered that I had been here on a previous trip and had had a wonderful experience! Alex himself made the difference and I would highly recommend his tastings and tours.
We were blown away by Chef Alex’s tour. He was truly inspiring and so passionate about the area, the history, the journey and the distinctions of the cheeses. I don’t know if I just didn’t read the overview well enough but I was thoroughly impressed and pleased with the depth that he went into during the tour. He also lays the tour out in a way that progresses from calm to intense flavor, all while you are conversing with new friends. Couldn’t recommend this enough! This was an amazing introduction into French culture and cuisine.
Meeting point for the tour is a bit confusing at first but it’s really fine once you figure it out. The meeting point is near a metro station and you take a short walking tour toward Alex’s restaurant. It’s actually really nice to see the neighborhood but just know you will be outside for the first 15 minutes or so and do some walking and standing outside. Overall, this is an excellent experience. It’s family friendly and you will enjoy a fair amount of wine and cheese. Alex is outstanding! Be ready to interact and have fun with your group. I DON’T recommend doing this tour right after you get off the plane from the USA as some people do. You will want to be rested so you can enjoy this to the fullest.
Our guide, chef Alex, is the best! We had so much fun. We learned about and experienced French culture/history on this tour not just cheese and wine. I would recommend to any person visiting Paris. It was my favorite tour that I booked!
The tour involves a little walk as well, with a little history. The cheese and wine tasting, although tasty, was tense as the host kept on giving instructions what to do, and what not to do. It was really quite annoying
The location of the experience could not be found. We were unable to attend because the meeting location was a subway stop and the guide was not at the stop when we arrived.
We booked this tour based on location but received a much greater experience than expected. The tour was provided by Chef Alex and delivered with knowledge and humor. We would highly recommend this tour. Viva Revolution!!!
We had a fabulous time! Alex is very knowledgeable and fun. We learned a lot about the neighborhood where the tour was located, as well as about the wines and cheeses. Everything was tasty. Thanks to Alex for a very fun evening!
Though my African mom is skeptical of certain cheeses, she had a great time with Chef Alex! Her world opened up through his humor and teachings. Chef Alex and the group we were with were absolutely a delight and I'd recommend to anyone looking not just for wine and cheese but a good look into French food culture.
I have an excellent time and learning about the French culture he took his time to explain the tour and the cheese and the win.
Good food and wine. Very informative I was full by the end. We went to moufetard st which was fun and I don’t think I would have made it there otherwise
Thank you Chef Alex for the wonderful cheese and wine tasting Oct 12, the 4PM session. The wine and cheese was excellent, the bonus was hearing of the history of the neighbourhood and your passion for good healthy food. Your message has impacted our plans for grocery shopping and meal preparation. We will be booking another Chef Alex experience if we are fortunate to include Paris in future vacations.
It was a great learning experience and great fun! Highly recommended for anyone who loves wine and cheese.
Love the history Alex shared. The stops were fun and I loved his presentation style. He was having fun so of course we had fun!
Very little walking. One stop for wine/cheese. Alex was filled with great information, engaging and fun!
Fantastic tour of history of the love of French food and approach to tasting. Chef Alex was a wonderful host. The wine's and cheese were delicious. It gave me a different way to think about how I would buy either.
We waited( 12 people) for the chef/guied and he never showed up. 15 minuets after the time scheduled for the activity he sent us a massage he can’t come because of the demonstration (but all of us could arrive couldn’t we? ) I asked for a refund but still waiting for it. Naomi Granot
This was way more than just a wine and cheese tasting… Totally worth the money! Chef Alex was very knowledgeable about French culture, food, and the neighborhood/history of Paris. The little stops along the way to his restaurant were insightful and tasty, especially Maison Caffet, which we immediately went back to following the tour. All of the cheese and wine was delicious, however some of the cheese selections may not be for everyone (but I recommend everyone try everything, just for the experience. You never know what you may discover!) It was really fun to try different combinations of cheese, wine, bread, butter, oil… playing with our food was encouraged! It was inspiring to hear and see Alex’s passion for food, and we left with a new perspective on French Cuisine and what it means to share a meal with others. We will be implementing some of his ideals into our daily eating habits. Thank you, Alex, for inspiring us to make more conscious choices about our food!
Very relaxing and informative as well as fun experience. Chef Alex was fun and we learned a lot about cheese tasting and things that can change the flavor as you taste and pair with wine.
Was a wonderful experience, great blend of wine and cheese. Learned the French way to buy products from the various food markets. Liked breaking bread with strangers.
I'm a solo traveler and loved the experience. Chef Alex taught us how to eat French which lead to table of strangers laughing together and being friendly to each other. Great historical tour and great wine and cheese pairings. Would definitely recommend
Alec was a charming and enthusiastic guide. He shepherded us through a variety of food options (produce market, chocolate/macaron shop, baguette shop etc.) and showed us the magic of the area. The tour ended at his restaurant where we enjoyed the baguette from the nearby shop and a variety of cheeses and enjoyed a wine education.
Chef Alex was an incredible host and guide. His knowledge along with sense of humor and graciousness made the excursion a great success.
Chef Alex was very informative and fun. His presentation of the cheese and wine was interesting and well organized. We really enjoyed ourselves.
Highly recommend this tour if you are interested in France, French history, French lifestyle and French food. It is a pleasure to see such a passionate and knowledgeable man as Chief Alex
A couple recommended this to us and it was one of our favorite parts of our trip. Chef Alex gave a great tour, tasting, and overall taught us a lot about French cuisine/wine/cheese and the importance of sharing food together. We ended up buying the cheese he recommended as well as learned a lot more about how to select wine. Needless to say we will be cherishing this memory!
We highly recommend this experience not only because of how good everything is, also because I learned a lot! Food should always be yummy, but healthy and with friends. I’d do this again tomorrow in a heartbeat!
Very enjoyable experience. The Chef is very passionate about French things and wants to share. Enjoyed the wine and cheese group tasting.
We had a lovely couple of hours with chef Alex learning about French cheese, wine, and the local market. Although our group was large (20 ppl) chef Alex made us all feel part of the group and it was an enjoyable afternoon. We especially appreciated his follow up text with a list of all the items in the tasting, as well as pictures. Definitely recommend!
Chef Alex gave a wonderful history of the Rue Mouffetard area, the wines of France and the various type of cheeses.
A really lovely experience. Chef Alex was great , he gave a very informative guided walk and talk around the market with a nice mix of discussion about history and culture. After the little walk around the market we went to his restaurant. 3 nice wines and 6 great cheeses and sides. All well explained by chef Alex. Very enjoyable and great value.
The wine and cheese tasting was cancelled by the operator 3.5 hours before it was scheduled to start without any reason.
Recommended by a friend and scheduled last minute. We loved it Chef is a wondrous guide. We learned a lot about wine and cheese!
Our tour with Alex was fantastic! He took us on a nice stroll through the market where we got to try some local produce and chocolate. All while telling us about the history of France and the food culture. Then we got to sit down and eat like Parisians, it was lovely. Great wine and cheeses, learned so much and made great friends!
Alex was great! Funny, knowledgeable and informative..we enjoyed learning and making new friends. The experience was well worth the price.
This was a very informative wine & cheese tasting. My wife & I learned of it from a trio of Welsh ladies we met at a wine tasting in VIENNA. Chef Alex greeted out group of ten and took us on a tour of the Mouffeltard area in the Latin Quarter of Paris. We stopped at several local provisioners and sampled their wares while he spoke of the importance of resisting autocratic rule. We ended up at tables in his restaurant (The Mouffeltard) and he introduced us to a progressive set of cheeses paired with appropriate wines. The time spent with Alec was thoroughly enjoyable!
Chef Alex was entertaining and very passionate. It was a great experience that we both thoroughly enjoyed.
This tour was amazing!! Chef Alex was very knowledgeable, entertaining, and energetic. This was one of my favorite parts of our trip so far. The courses were excellent, and all of his staff was so friendly. I felt very safe the entire time, and this experience was worth much more than I paid for it. I would 10/10 recommend this to anyone in Paris. Thank you, Chef Alex!!
