We had an amazing day in the champagne region. Our guide Alex was wonderful in preparing our visits to the champagne houses. Our first stop was at G.H. Mumm. Our host shared the entire champagne making process, from growing the grapes, harvesting, the double fermenting to bottling. We learned so much and enjoyed the tasting. We purchased a few bottles that were not included in the tasting and enjoyed them during our stay in France. We then went to a smaller champagne house to have lunch and sample three champagnes. They were all different and delightful. We enjoyed a lovely lunch as well. We were celebrating my birthday and was given the honor to open our first bottle of champagne with a machete. I opened it on my first try. We then went to our third and final vineyard to sample three additional champagne’s. All were delightful. The tour was at a very comfortable pace to enjoy each stop. Alex, thank you for a wonderful day. Salut. 🥂

Alex, tour guide & driver (Project Expedition/GoGo Tours), was super! Alex was well versed & extremely knowledgeable. He went out of his way to make it a special, memorable, informative tour and day for all. Lunch was well planned & delicious. It was great to see the differences between private/small and public/large champagne maker. We actually learned more from Alex than on the tours. He made the day extra special with a sunset stop at the top of champagne region hills and taught us how to open champagne with a saber. The Reims Cathedral was also amazing! We also taste tested sparkling vs champagne and tested our knowledge of the day. He went above and beyond to get us all back safely to our hotels. Sadly, 3 guests/3 different hotels were located in the midst of the Paris October 17th day’s/evening’s riots. We returned to Paris to looting, vandalism, fires, police sirens, ambulances, broken glass, debris and burning bikes throughout the roads, tear gas, SWAT teams, & masked rioters… Alex was turned away by police or obstructions on many roads. We were all nervous, uncomfortable and apprehensive – not knowing if we would make it safely to our hotels and the tires/vehicle would not puncture…. Alex was courageous, determined, creative and dedicated! We did make it back to our hotel safely all thanks to Alex. We highly recommend Alex and this tour!!
Joel was amazing! Such a fun trip and we learned a lot in addition to trying some amazing champagne.
We were picked up at our hotel by a passenger van and had to stop to pick up two other groups. It was a nice scenic drive to France's wine region. 1st stop was Mumm where we toured their cellars and heard about their elaborate champagne making process. After an hour tour of the winery, we were finally offered our delicious champagne (which we were hoping for earlier)! We quickly drank it as we needed to head out to our next stop which was serving lunch! We were given more information about the towns we were visiting and more history on the making of champagne. Our next stop was La Champagnotheque for lunch and tastings! We had a lot of fun there! The third and last stop was Dom Caudron at Passy-Grigny in Marne where we tasted toured the housee and tasted a few more champagnes. It was a fun! Be prepared for a long day. Tommy our driver kept us well entertained and on time!
Great tour. Our guide Huw was great. We were a grpup of 6 mixed with Amercian and French Canadian people, and I think all of us were satisfied despite going from English to French all the time. We visited Mumm and other smaller places. Everything was nice and we learned different things at all places. I recommend the tour.
The ride was worth it for the picturesque towns, the education on how champagne is made and the many, many glasses of delicious champagne. Cedric our guide was excellent. The tour company keeps in contact before the tour and made it very easy with our dietary restrictions.
Book it! Lionel, puts together the perfect day. All of the tour guides at the 3 different chateau's were energetic, entertaining and informative. And of course the champagne.... you will definitely find something that you love. The lunch was quaint and delicious. It was an amazing value!
Tommy was great! Nice to see different types of champagne makers Learning their process was facinating.
This tour was EXCELLENT! The pickup at our hotel (7:30 am!) was SOOO appreciated! The drive to the region was 1.5 hrs, so a bit long, but we had a little croissant treat for the drive and the scenery once out of the city was beautiful and interesting. The selection of champagne houses we visited was perfect, starting with one very large commercial operation, followed by a delicious lunch (with champagne) at a tiny business in a medieval city and one final small house for a few more glasses of bubbly. It was well-worth the little splurge to be in a small group (full van with a total of 8 tourists) rather than a larger bus-type trip. Cedric was knowledgeable about the region and wines in general, and kept us engaged and entertained. for future tourists, plan with layers, especially if you go in the fall - it was overcast and chilly, especially at the first winery and rather long tour of the cold cellar area. Comfy shoes are a good idea in general, but the cobblestones and cement and uneven terrain are absolutely not meant for heels of any kind. The van held 9 people in total, including the driver, so the van was a bit tight with 3 in each row. If I had one critique, that would be it. I’d have preferred a bit more room on a 90-minute trip each way. Just plan to be sitting upright and being close with your seat mate. If the choice is a very expensive private ride or a larger trip on a bus, this is definitely the better option for us. Also had zero interest in driving ourselves and after being in the area and driving around, this was confirmed! Roads in the beautiful medieval villages are barely big enough for the van, and I’d imagine would be missed on a larger trip. Overall a wonderful experience! Highly recommend!
This day was absolutely perfect! Huw was a knowledgeable and fun tour guide who made the experience so wonderful. Would recommend this trip and guide to anyone visiting the area, it was very worth the trip and money. The Champagne region was absolutely beautiful, and each house we visited was exceptional. Learned a lot about a drink I now love!!
Amasing attention to small details! Our guide, Max, even stopped to show us a beautiful view of a vineyard before our second scheduled stop. Attention to detail!
This was a solid experience in regards to learning about champagne and getting out to the countryside. Enjoyed seeing new parts of France and learning about champagne. A few gripes. 1: no drop off at hotel 2: I didn’t hear from anyone for days to confirm this trip was even happening. I called and emailed and never heard back. It wasn’t until our driver arrived that I knew with certainty we were actually going on the trip 3. Too long. Should have been shorter.
Joel was amazing and the tour was better than we imagined. Great exposure to the champagne region with a bit of history thrown in. Lunch was wonderful, the other guests and Joel made the experience exceptional.
This was a great experience. Well planned day and our host, Romaric, was exceptional with great knowledge of the champagne and wine making process. We were back in the city by 18:30 so still had time to find a great dinner that evening.
My husband and I did this full day trip from Paris and we loved it! It’s a long day but it was not tiring because you’re not constantly on your feet. It’s actually a very relaxing day (over 4 hours is strictly just driving time from/to Paris). Cedric was our guide and he was awesome! He spoke great English and was super personable and attentive. He communicated to us the day before what time he was picking us up from our hotel (we were 1st at 7:30) and then we proceeded to pick up another group of 4 and were on our way. Cedric had a bag of various flavored fresh croissants and bottled water for breakfast, which was so nice with an early start. I’m sure the route depends on which Champagne houses are open on the day you visit. We first started with Mumm in Reims. Before we went there, we had about 20 minutes to visit the Reims Cathedral, which was a treat and one of the coolest looking Cathedrals we saw while in France for 2 weeks. The tour at Mumm was very in depth and lasted about an hour. Note that it wouldn’t be good for anyone with mobility issues. Mumm was huge! After the tour, we had 1 tasting. Then we proceeded to a family owned champagne house called Domaine Julien Chopin in Monthelon. Part of the fun of the trip was the scenery during your drive. At Julien Chopin, we had a really nice lunch that started with some yummy toast points with duck, then chicken with mushroom sauce and wild rice, and various macaroons for dessert. The chicken was very tender and flavorful. During this, we had 3 variations of champagne or drinks mixed with champagne. The last place we went was a cooperative called Dom Caudron in Passy-Grigny. We did a small tour of the more modern facility and they also had a museum there. Then we tasted 5 different champagnes there. From a timing perspective, we left our hotel at 7:30 and arrived back at the stated dropoff location at 5:00. There were plenty of taxis right there that you could use to get back home if you didn’t want to walk. The hotel pick up was the part that was key, though. It was a really great day and we got to see some pretty countryside and taste a lot of good champagne with a yummy lunch. Cedric was a perfect guide! I would highly recommend!
Tito was an amazing host!! Very knowledgable and engaging! We had an amazing group of people!! All of the places we stopped were wonderful! Such a beautiful city. Food was delicious! Champagne Tastings spectacular!!
Awesome experience. Would recommend to everyone.
Fun, beautiful, and very informative! Can’t recommend it highly enough. Be prepared to drink a lot of champagne’
Antoine was so knowledgeable, funny and kind. He gave us not only information of champagne and the process of making it, but also Parisian life. My husband and I had a great time!
You get a lot of Champaign with each tasting. Our tour guide was very good. We learned how Champaign is made. We thought we were going to Vuve Clicquot, but we didn’t.
I have always wanted to go to the champagne region and although a long day trip from Paris it was worth the time and money. We went to GH Mumm. It was wonderful to see a large brand name winery and the tour was extremely informative. NOTE- you taste only ONE champagne here. Other people got varios tastings. I wish we could have tried more as the other champagnes are unavailable in the US. We had a surprise stop in the champagne region on a hill to overlook the valley and Nicolas has a rose for us to share. Such a fun additional stop and the rose made it perfect for pictures and enjoying the view. Off to a local winery that now medium scale for producing champagne. Here we had a very relaxing lunch with 3 tastings (small pours). Lunch was delicious and I have major food allergies and felt extremely safe eating there. The final stop was a very small family winery with a brief tour and 3 tastings (smaller pours if that’s possible). The third was fine but I would rather have stayed longer and tasted more at the other two wineries. A quiet two hour ride back to Paris and a central drop off at 6:30ish which gives you time to explore more, have dinner or go to your hotel/air bnb Overall a wonderful trip and it’s nice to have an itinerary and driver planned for you. All you do I be ready on time and relax the entire day. Again I have major food allergies and from the beginning and twice before the day of, the company reached out to me to confirm my allergies. Truely amazing customer service!!
Joel was the best! We had a great time. The champagne was amazing, we learned so much and had fun while doing it. It’s a must do!!!
Haw Griffith, our tour guide and driver was thoughtful, good natured, knowledgeable and had a witty sense of humor. He made this trip quite exceptional. He also is a professional sommelier so that was a bonus for us. The entire day was beautifully curated and we were fortunate enough to have a fun tour group of 6 other strangers who all quickly became friends on the tour. A truly wonderful day that I could do again! Loved it.
It was relaxed from start to finish. The guide was incredibly knowledgeable and patient with all the guests. The pace was perfect and unhurried. The lunch was absolutely amazing, private, and paired so well with champagne. I would HIGHLY recommend this tour to anyone interested in visiting the champagne region of France. FIVE STARS!
We had a wonderful guide named Lance. He took us through the beautiful countryside of Champagne. We stopped at some great Champagne house for tours and tastings and an amazing lunch. During the drive Lance taught us everything we needed to know about champagne. Being a sommelier, he was very informative. A very memorable day!
Tour guide was excellent! Really enjoyed the Tour! Vans should be better quality and bigger. Not very comfortable in the front especially and my husband and I are not big people.
Great driver. Nice drive to Reims. All champagne tasting were to notch. Would have liked to spend a little more tons at each place, u understand the time restraints.
Great day out … great trip and beautiful countryside
From pick up to drop off it was a wonderful day. Our guide for the day was Tommy and he was just superb. Our first visit was to Mumm which was very interesting to hear about all the history and the amount of kilometres of chalk caves under Reims holding all the champagne bottles. Next we were taken to look at vineyards and sample a lovely Don Caudron rose after which we moved on to our 2nd visit at Julien Chopin where we shared a delicious lunch along with tasting 3 different champagnes of this house. Lastly we visited Don Caudron and got to taste a further 3 champagnes. All in all it was a wonderful experience.
Went with a small group of eight people and our guide, Joel. Joel was terrific. Had a wonderful day and made new friends. Everyone seemed to be having a blast and, although tired at the end of the day, we also seemed to be sorry our adventure was over. I will consider doing this again next trip to Paris. Oh yeah, the champagne and food were also good 😊
Well curated trip to quality champagne houses. I am a discerning wine lover who lives in CA wine country, but found the wine educators at the wineries very professional and our guide Tommy was awesome and attentive. Lunch was family style and delicious.
Tommy was such a passionate guide for our Champagne day tour. You can tell he definitely has a passion for grapes, wine, and champagne. He taught us so many things, and the fact that we got picked up at our hotel was so great! I asked a question he didn't know the answer to and he did the research and got back to me the next day. I was touched that he remembered. This tour is really fun, I would definitely recommend.
Our guide, Tommie was wonderful! He was passionate about wine and very experienced. He really went out of his way to make sure we all had an incredible experience.
The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and friendly and a great driver. Would recommend him any time. I enjoyed the trip and the champagne and food!
Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable. The drive from Paris to Champagne was easy but we also went on a Sunday. Being able to tour a large champagne house and two smaller ones was the perfect mix. We left our hotel at 8 AM and were back in Paris by 5. Would highly recommend! We had a great time!
The tour was a great experience. Our friendly guide Rom, made our trip unforgettable. Rom had a wealth of knowledge about wine and in particular Champagne. I would recommend this tour.
Very long day — but worth it. Very educational in addition to tasty! We loved that we were able to visit several different sizes/types or Champagne houses. Lunch was very good. Our tour guide Lionel was fantastic !
What a great way to learn about and experience champagne. Romaric provided an energetic and knowledgeable tour of local wineries that proved to be a perfect representative of champagnes.
Our driver was very knowledgeable and very polite he explained the process of champagne 🍾 and the the region our lunch stop at the local vineyard was quaint and the food was good it’s a long day but very enjoyable I would highly recommend this tour
Our experience was incredible! Romaric our tour guide was simply fantastic. Friendly, confident, a safe driver and with a lot of interesting facts about Champagne making it fun and super enjoyable. The tour was really planned perfectly, we spent enough time in each place, met some nice people and it was definitely one of the highlights of our trip to France. Anyone who loves Champagne we would really recommend you to this tour and to have Romaric as your guide, he was an absolute natural. Thank you once again for the memories. Elyssa & Simon
Nicolás was an incredibly knowledgeable guide about the champagne district due to his career as a sommelier. We tasted way more champagne than I expected and the lunch served was delightful. Also, the van was air conditioned which was appreciated on a hot day. This tour was one of the highlights of our trip!
Romaric was an amazing guide. He was incredibly welcoming, knowledgeable, extremely fun. The venues were absolutely beautiful and the hosts at each stop were very inviting and gracious. Lunch was delicious a s such an intimate setting. We enjoyed our group as well. We highly recommend this tour - it is a must do!
Great guide with lots of knowledge, Aurelien! Travel in van for total of 8 and in the back it is difficult to hear. When listening to heavily accented (different than American) it is difficult to understand and add the road nose and car makes it worse. Mumm and Collery were great choice but the last stop (I don’t even remember the name) was not very good. Also another trip through wine making process is a waste of time. I would rather stop at two more wineries and just do tasting.
Picked up at the hotel, and once everyone was on the bus there was a 90min ride towards champagne and Rhein. Here one has the option to nap a bit or look at the surroundings along the way. First stop for our tour was Lanson where we got a tour giving some history of champagne in general as well as the house Lanson. Tour ends with a tasting of their house champagne. Off for another 45min trip to Julien Chopin for a delicious lunch paired with three champagne and one Ratafia, they sorted out vegetarian option in a good manner as well. Now we took a short ride over to Vollereaux for another tour, shorter yet more intimate and personal. Ending this as well with three glasses of champagne. Here one would think we'd head back but not yet. Now our guide Huw takes us to an amazing view point and in the sun we enjoy one final glass of champagne together and talk about the day, what grapes we prefer, what sugar content and age of the champagne. Along the day Huw been providing additional knowledge of all kind of stuff both history and technique of champagne and wine. All in all a great experience that I could do again in the future just gain even more knowledge and then see some different champagne houses.
We thoroughly enjoyed seeing the countryside and experiencing three distinct champagne houses. Our guide was very knowledgeable with a great sense of fun. This was a great addition to our stay in Paris.
Wonderful trip to Champagne from Paris during a heatwave. Lovely small group size, beautiful scenery, diverse and interesting producers visited. Our guide Huw was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. Would highly recommend.
We had an amazing time on our Champagne tour with Nicholas. We were taken to three (four?) different chateaus and learned about the production and processes at each. Each chateau had a very different vibe (big name, smaller family vineyard, co-op producer) We discovered a new drink we purchased to take home - Ratafia (similar to a Port or Sancerre, but with less bite). Lunch was after the second tour and was both filling and delicious. I was hesitant to book this tour as it was more expensive than most of the others, but it was well worth every penny!
Tour guide Alex was fantastic! We loved the stops, learning about the champagne making process, and on the hottest day recorded history in Paris, we enjoyed the cool cellars. Lunch was delicious as well as all the different champagnes we were able to sample
Great experience! Thoughtfully planned, knowledgeable guide, and great value. The lunch with wine was really delicious.
The tour has lots of warm touches like the early morning pick up with a treat from the bakery. I appreciated all the messages getting us ready for our trip. This is a long fay.
