Itinerary
At the Arc de Triomphe, travelers will discover one of Paris’s most iconic landmarks, standing proudly at the top of the Champs-Élysées. Visitors can walk around the monument to admire its monumental sculptures and detailed engravings celebrating French history and military victories. Beneath the arch, they will see the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, where an eternal flame is rekindled every evening, offering a moment of reflection and remembrance. Those who climb to the top (or take the elevator part of the way) are rewarded with one of the best panoramic views in Paris: a spectacular 360° vista over the Champs-Élysées, La Défense, Montmartre, the Eiffel Tower, and the star-shaped avenues radiating from Place Charles de Gaulle. Inside, a small museum explains the monument’s history and significance, making the visit both visually impressive and culturally enriching.

We did everything right. We went to the Arc de Triomphe and there was a security notice on the entrance, saying that the monument was closed for the day and no tours were available. No explanation was given. I even have a picture I took with my phone of the sign on the window if you care to see it. So we left. I would like to get our money, returned to us for this tour. Thank you. Hope to hear from you soon.
Over 200 spiral stairs, you have to climb with no elevator if you wanna go to the top. This doesn't include the steps you have to climb just to get there. Very narrow, so you don't even have a place to sit and rest if you need it.
Worth a visit, notwithstanding that the Arch is not as high as the Eiffeil Tower, the view is excellent and at a better hight and location to birds eye view what you will need to know to navigate the area
We enjoyed seeing the Arch de Triomphe. Viator sent our tickets, and we used the self guide tour. Lots of steps if you choose to climb up to the top, but the view is worth it!
Save your money. Visit around d the base of the Arch. It’s not worth the money to go to the roof top. Additionally, I was very disappointed that the elevators were out of service. While I didn’t need it, young families, the elderly and those with physical disabilities could not enter. There was no one working on the elevators, only an out of service sign. These communities must have been irate. Do better Paris.
Easy to access, historical significance, make sure you go to the rop deck to see a 360 view of Paris.
This was a return visit for me and return visit to the Arc de Triomphe Just like the first time, it was amazing just as before even with the lift not working.
For the second time our guide was a no show. Very poor customer service. Avoid Viator! Save your money.
Great tour & the views from the top was well worth the climb !
Beautiful place with a lot of history
Only issue is that the downloaded ticket didn’t work, and created some confusion until we got it straightened out.
Tour was suppose to have lift access to top , but after arriving no lift was working and was not told this before tour so I could have cancelled .
The experience was great, but we had great difficulty getting in. The directions from the tour operator ahead of time were unclear. It took us a half an hour of frantic phone calls to the operator from the Arc de Triumphe to figure out how to access the tickets (the vouchers Viator sent were not accepted at the venue). Had the directions been more clear ahead of time, we would have known what to do, had been able to access the tickets in the WhatsApp app and known which lines we could have skipped. It was a very frustrating experience to gain access. That was the whole purpose of booking with Viator ahead of time. We could have simply purchased tickets at the venue itself and skipped the hassle.
The lift was not working, so my wife was unable to enter and go to the top (2 recent artificial knees). Even though they would not allow her to use the lift, workers were using a lift. I liked the view and the structure was beautiful.
A great easy way to see Paris from up high, especially if the sun is shining. Great views of the Champs-Élysée, the Eiffel Tower and the surrounding area. Very enjoyable!
We had 8:30pm as our reservation, after being at the top for 10 mins we were told they were shutting it down for the night. We were not able to stay and watch the sunset. If the experience is going to be cut short, they should notify folks when they close.
There are a lot of stairs, so wear comfortable shoes. The loft was broken when we went, but it was fine.
was unable to get the tickets to download. went to the arc. asked for assistance from the staff. they were not helpful. they stated that "everyone has problems with Viator tickets". Got on chat with Viator. They were no help. could not get the tickets to download. Arc staff saw that we had a confirming ticket purchase, and knew we were having trouble downloading. Requested that they allow us to the top, and they said NO, not without the ticket. So dissapointing. Requesting refund from Viator.
The day we arrived in Paris it was late afternoon and we didn't want to do much...and this was a perfect start to our vacation!! We walked to the top (284 steps) in the late afternoon staying through dusk and then darkness! The city sights were beautiful during daylight, but absolutely magical when the city lights lit up! Especially the Eiffel Tower!! A dream come true!
The views are worth the climb. I climbed up in the middle of the heatwave. Staircase was relatively cooler. Had spots to stand to let others pass by.
Our tour via Paris Odessey was well communicated and we caught elevator up due to one of our travelling party. Well worth the cost to see Paris from a height.
We climbed to the top to see the sunset. Unfortunately the clouds didn’t allow for that but we saw the Eiffel Tower lit up. It was quite an amazing view.
The views were amazing. Glad we made the effort. I am in my late 60s but was able to make the climb. Tickets were purchased in advance on Viator. The direct website for the Arch de Triumph were glitchy for me. Actual tickets were sent 24 hours in advance to my WhatsApp account. Super easy and then could skip the line at the location.
This was a wonderful experience. All staff was very friendly and helpful. If you aren't in reasonably good shape, then make sure to take the elevator because there are a lot of stairs!
Great views of Paris on top of the Arc with some excellent historical information by on mid level. Access from tunnels under the traffic circle.
This was a great way to see the city. I had been to Paris 3 times and never gone up. I needed a cane to walk and was very worried how this could be managed but I was treated so well by the French employees. They saw the cane and directed me and my granddaughter to an operator who put me on a lift. Twice. They were wonderful to help me. And I enjoyed it immensely. I think I was treated better in France than in the USA!!
Going to the top of the Arc was a great view to see Paris. There are a lot of stairs, but places to stop along the way if needed. These tickets were available when promised (24 hours ahead) and made it easy to enter the Arc. We did have to wait in line for entry but it was reasonable. Entry time was not clear as the Arc website had later opening hours. Overall, the tickets worked for entry with no issues and were more readily available than from the Arc website.
Easy in access and a great view of the city.
Loved walking to the top of the Arc de Triomphe. The view is spectacular! Viator made getting tickets very easy.
A great way to see magnificent views of Paris. You climb 284+ of stairs to get to the top and the reward is the views you get to see. We did this on our first night and it was a great way to get a perspective on where the famous sights are throughout Paris.
I like how easy Viator makes these tours happen. Very straightforward. Loved the views from Arc de Triomphe.
There are too many steps to retrieve tickets, you get an email, then a voucher, then a onetime login - which didn’t work. We had to call Viator both times we purchased tickets. The Arc was great -
Great views from the Arc de Triomphe on a clear day. Lots of steps but not difficult, and if you are unable to do the steps there is an elevator for those who need it. There are three levels -- the first two have a lot of historical information well presented and a gift shop (of course!). There are rest rooms on the first level. Be safe -- use the tunnel that goes under the Place d'Etoile -- DON'T try to run across the multiple lanes of traffic!
It’s a hard walk up all the steps! But it’s great fun watching all the traffic up there. Couldn’t believe how much space up there was up there. They really could make much better use of it.
Lots of people. Be ready for the lineup if you don't have a reserve ticket. Both it's worth the wait.
Awesome views from the top! The engineering is very impressive.
Definitely not worth the price. We could not find the group at the “meeting point” but were able to get someone to send us the tickets. The line was not long at all so we would have gone through quickly without the high price of your tickets. We requested the elevator for my partner as he has a pacemaker and the attendants were wonderful—through no help of your service. I would not recommend this package to anyone.
Incredible experience and the view was amazing We timed it for sunset and it didn’t disappoint Must do even with the burn of the stairs
A must do! Get the skip the line tickets and enjoy spectacular views of Paris. The Arc is beautiful.
Very good experience. Pre-bought tickets avoided the need to queue. Museum informative and amazing views
Had ticket to top for 11am but a couple hundred people in queue for security check and no lift working and short on time to next location so didn’t go up. Beautiful monument though.
A must see and visit while in Paris. A part of France’s rich history. The step climb to the top is worth it to see a panoramic view of Paris.
The tickets I was sent by email would not scan when I got to the Arc De Truimphe, could not use them.
The tickets could not scan at the location, Arc de Triomphe we had to spend 15 minutes with a manager, who has kind enough to help us
a MUST on your visit to Paris! what an amazing monument to see...it is not only beautiful, its the heart of the city ! to think of oll the marched thru these arches...the great, the good and the UGLY. The history is sobering...Your trip to Paris will not be complete without visiting the Arc!
Good experience. And the view is amazing. You have to be prepared to go up several steps. But from there on out, all perfect.
Via TripAdvisor I received my admission tickets (bar code) via email, while tickets with a QR code were required. We were therefore kindly asked to leave the entrance.
Everything went well on the Viator side, the tickets well received. The visit itself was quite complicated because of the stairs and poor visibility, fog that day. I recommend visiting this monument on sunny days.
