A Magical Evening In Paris With Locals: Private City Walking Tour

Guide did not show up. No response despite multiple attempts to contact the tour guide or the company. Never received an explanation or message from the company, and took a few days for the refund to be approved. Very disappointing.

After booking this tour way in advance, our tour guide did not show up. When we texted to check in, the guide stated the tour was not on his calendar. While I understand things may happen, very unfortunate for visitors who only have limited time in the city. Disappointing…

Guide did not show up. Waited 30 minutes. Plus it cost 45euros in uber fair. Tour had already been rebooked after it was cancelled from the previous night. Obviously this company is totally unreliable.

A really great show! Very entertaining! The magic was amazing!! Small venue so you can see it up close and personal!! A definite must see!

It was an appropriately timed tour with Andrea walking the Boulevards, the charismatic operas, the glittering malls. Welly was such a fun tour guide! We knew that the tour was going to be 150 minutes and came in prepared with walking shoes and jackets. Welly led us through Paris, letting us know we could tweak the path as needed, but as it was our first and only night in Paris, we just wanted to hit the top spots. Welly was so informative and truly had a passion for French history, which was apparent in his explanations of the various spots - it seems like he knew something about every location! He also stopped and made sure we took pictures at every amazing photo spot and we’ll cherish these pictures for a long time. Book with Welly and you’ll have a fun and educational “work out” aka a 150 minute walk.

This was a fantastic evening! We are here during the torch arrival and Bastille day so our tour took a few unplanned turns due to road closures but Izabele was AMAZING!! I would recommend anybody and everybody to take his tour!!

Was shown so many local places away from the crowds that I don’t ant to return to. She also provided a great list recapping our tour and additional recommendations n restaurants, bars, local spots, and museums not on typical tourist lists. Highly recommend!

Our guide Andrea had average knowledge of Paris but the main issue was he consistently put down the United States and talked to us several times as if we were beneath him in some way. Very strange behavior. We almost left him several times but hung in there. We still chose yo hive him 50 euro tip so we didn't stoop to his poor level. He did leave another 100 euros on the table though due to his total lack of respect.

I was extremely disappointed with this experience. First, leading up to the tour, our guide wanted to switch the location of our meet, which was okay, but he did not want to show us the sites listed on the description, but told us this tour was not for sightseeing but “Usually on this type of tour people are looking for places to have fun at night.” After explaining that I was traveling with my elderly mother-in-law and my teenage daughter and we only wanted to see the pretty sights with the very limited amount of time we had (only one evening), he assured me he could do that. We arrived right on time to our (new) meeting spot, but our guide was not communicative in the half hour before and arrived 10 minutes late. When he did arrive, his introduction included him telling us he was very drunk. He told us he had been waiting on us all day (tour was to start at 9pm, we showed up on time after having been up and traveling since 6am, he did not) in the city because he loved too far out to go home and come back, he is very stressed and busy, so he decided to enjoy himself and drink the whole day. I asked him if he was “okay” to do the tour, and he assured me he was, so we have him a chance. After 20 minutes of him repeating himself, stumbling and weaving, and apologizing for being drunk, I was not comfortable nor did I feel safe, so I told him we were canceling the rest of the tour. He continued to make excuses by text after we separated ourselves from him. From the start of the tour, I had been messaging with my travel agent who helped me book, and she was appalled by his behavior and encouraged us to seek a refund from the tour operator. We did request a refund through Viator, and we were denied. I did not want to leave a negative review as I work with small businesses and know the power of reviews, but as I am left with no avenue to talk with the company who hired the guide in question directly, only through Viator, I feel like this is the only avenue I have to let that company and other potential guests know that this tour we were so looking forward to made our one night in Paris underwhelming to say the least.

Our guide Izabele was knowledgeable, flexible, and a joy to spend a few Hours with. She asked what we were looking for, and managed to take us to some hidden jems that we would never have found without her. Hi, recommend this tour

Stay away from With locals and Anna! We chose Anna for our evening walking tour in Paris , booking several months in advance. We arrived at the designated spot a few minutes before 6pm, walking an hour to get there in time. After 15 minutes waiting for Anna, I looked up the original confirmation email and found her number. I then WhatsApped her, asking if there was a problem. She responded in 1 minute saying that the tour had been cancelled. Just when I was wondering whether I had missed a communication earlier in the day, I saw a regular text message pop up from Anna saying that the tour had been cancelled, written 2 minutes after I had contacted her (not before the tour was to have begun). You can't cancel an event after it was to have begun! That's a no-show on the part of the tour guide, a failure to do one's job, a failure to care that people plan their time in Paris carefully and lose a critical time slot when a tour guide and company fail to produce what they market on-line. More than 24 hours later, I have received nothing from Withlocals addressing this issue or offering a refund. Because the tour did not occur, they did not send me a request for a review, so they may think they are insulated from negative reviews related to their mismanagement. Be careful of this company.

I booked the „A magical evening in Paris: City Tour“ with Giedre. It was a good experience on the first day of my vacation in Paris which gave me a first impression of the city and a basic understandig of some of its monuments and its architecture. The tour started at 7.30 PM and went for 2,5 hours. The meeting point was easy to find and the communication before the tour went smoothly. Giedre is originally from Lithunia but has been living and working in Paris for quite some time. She knows a lot about the city – history and present - and is also very enthusiastic about it which makes it fun to listen to her. Among the sites which we explored during the tour were the Opera, Place Vendome, Comedie Francaise, Palais Royal and Louvre. But we spoke also about current topics such as the housing situation in Paris and the forthcoming Olympic games. Giedre also provided me with valuable information for my further activities in Paris. For instance, I got detailed information on the flea market at Saint Ouen. In conclusion, I can onyl recommend to book a tour with Giedre as a perfect start of your journey to Paris.

Peggy was a great tour guide. She was informative and made sure we saw things at the top of our list in the walking area. She took several family photos of us so we could be in pictures together. She recommended other places to visit and even some restaurants we should try. We enjoyed our tour very much.

I had an excellent time with Welly. He shared with me good information on a variety of sites that we saw, including historical information. He also provided me with suggestions for interacting with others in Paris. I was especially grateful that he helped me navigate my way back to the Airbnb where I was staying. He customized the tour to my liking, and I appreciated his considerate nature. He took photos of me as well. You will be very happy if you book a tour with him.

It is refreshing when traveling to a new city to see it from the perspective of a local in love with their city. Stone monuments and buildings all have a story to tell with a good guide to help you peel back the layers. People like St. Genevieve, important to the City of Paris, or Marie de' Medici and her plight all bring a flavor to Paris to savor in the skillful hands of an experienced guide. Wan was absolutely amazing! I did this tour solo last year… this year I did the tour with two 7 year olds and my mother. I felt like this tour was better than last year! Wan was great with the kids and extremely knowledgeable. You can tell she loves what she does! Hands down, would recommend this tour!

The best part of this tour was our wonderful host Louis Gabriel, Louis for short. He was pleasant, warm, and humorous. He imparted a great deal of knowledge to us about different neighborhoods of Paris and the time just flew by. We enjoyed ourselves thoroughly and we will look for his tours again.

Hey everyone, I met Izabel and it was so easy and flawless to talk to her she showed me one if the most famous spots and made the tour spontaneously fit my needs. Super sympa as the locals say. She knows secret spots and places i never been altbough I know the city well. So exciting and fun tour. We had a blast. I highly recommend taking the tour with Izabel. She is wonderful as a tourguide and persona.

Fantastic tour. It was our first night in Paris after arriving at 9 am, so we were exhausted, but it was still worth it. Anukool definitely made an effort to find out our particular interests and tailor the tour accordingly. At the end, he made the extra effort to walk us to the metro and make sure we knew how to get back to our hotel. And of course, the city at night was simply enchanting.

Your was great! Paris is so beautiful when lit up. Anukool’s tour was very educational. He took me around the city showing me many of the sites. Would definitely recommend this out as it is more private and geared to the group going.

Essentially had a private tour through the central area of Paris, learning about the history of the various buildings, monuments, palaces, etc. Learned a lot about the city to help inform our future travels to Paris. Really enjoyed seeing the city lit up at night.

We waited at the rendezvous point for 40 minutes in the freezing cold and the guide did not show up or answer our calls. We received no notification that the tour would not go ahead and have received no apology or explanation since. It was far from a magical first night in Paris. It was extremely disappointing. Viator processed the refund promptly.

Our guide Ali Berredjem was awesome! Thank you for sticking with us throughout the night in the pouring rain taking your time to go over all the the history of the sites we visited. Highly recommend this walking tour at night when everything is lit up!

This tour was the WORST!!!! Our tour guide, Alexis did not show up. This was supposed to be a private tour and without any courtesy calls nor email just to let us know that he won't show up. We were even very early at the meeting area, and waited for at least 20 mins before calling Viator coz we tried to call both numbers provided, but to no avail. We had to use our US phones, took risk of the international charges, just to reach out to the tour company and Alexis...but to no avail. We then called Viator but we were just told that the tour company's office is already closed and that they will only send an email to the tour company. Until now, Viator also did not let us know of the status. The good thing is, they have refunded us the whole amount of this tour. If not, we have to dispute the charges. Anyway, don't take this tour with this company nor with Alexis. You will be frustrated especially if your time in Paris is limited like us. Don't waste your time.

The rendezvous point was the CLOCK STATUE across the Saint-Lazare Metro Station. So, my wife and I were there to see Paris at night on our first day in this City of Lights and Love. We were truly anticipating "A magical evening in Paris " - because that was the title of the tour. That magical experience turned into a gloomy and dark experience when our tourist guide, Alexis didn't show up. We were waiting from 7:30 PM until 8:15 PM for the guide to show up...but to no avail. No courtesy calls or e-mails at all. VIATOR was informed around 8:00 PM but couldn't do anything at all as well because the TOUR OFFICE WITH LOCALS was already secured during that time of the night. It was just a bad night for a "FIRST NIGHT IN PARIS." But life moves on ...more Uber payments..and more international calls...to compensate for a total loss of 2.5 hours for a much awaited "MAGICAL EVENING."

What a great first night in Paris!! A private tour is the perfect way to see and learn a little anout this beautiful and historic city. After this stroll along the Seine river we had dinner and we were ready for bed.

I was unable to go my fly got delay call the next day was given any consideration or refund at all. I spend over a 1,000. In activities. I lost $148.00 in the tickets . I will never buy tickets in advanced or recommend anyone to do it. You never know what can happen to you. I will not recommended to purchase tickets in advance. I’m very disappointed!!

It was truly a magical night filled with history, general information, and good laughs. Would totally recommend to anyone since the night can be tailored to be whatever you want. We had the best time!

What a great experience and unique night tour with Murilo! The weather was cold, windy, and rainy but that didn’t stop us from covering the city. Murilo is extremely knowledgeable of Paris culture and has endless interesting stories along the way. Tour was perfect way to see Paris at night. I’d highly recommend this tour with Murilo!
